Feely in at KC on Monday out of KC on Tuesday

Former Dolphins kicker Jay Feely was signed by the Chiefs on Monday. He was cut Tuesday.

"It's shocking," Feely agent Glenn Schwartzmann told ESPN.com.

I would say, but the agent's shock would probably wear off if he saw the kicking numbers at Chiefs camp the last couple of days.

Feely connected on 11 of 15 tries Monday and 13 of 15 today. Pulling out my slide ruler, that is 24 of 30. Connor Barth connected on 28 of 30 and Nick Novak was 27 of 30 the past two days.

So Feely was third in a three-man race the past two days. Given the numbers, maybe his agent shouldn't be shocked.

Upon leaving the Dolphins Feely ripped the Dolphins, saying it was obvious to him how bad the team was going to be because of a lack of talent. Then, of course, he signs with a team the Dolphins dismantled, 24-0, and seemed much less talented than Miami.

So while his agent is shocked, Feely should be thrilled he was cut from a team less talented than Miami.

Its obvious the standard of kicking has risen across the board dramatically. Feely has no class and has always loved the sound of his own voice. Kickers should be seen and not heard. A bit of stand up from Salguero, is rare but welcomed. Just hope Carpenter can put some wood on those kick-offs.

i would lay off jay mando, hes probably still a little touchy feely

ah man ChampionUnderDog....that was terrible. just terrible.

NOW we know why "Ace" Freely was cut by the "TRIFECTA"!

HE SHANKS!

Try European ball "Ace"....

RAY FINKLE!!!! LACES OUT!

Champion that was indeed terrible. Feely should have practiced with his foot and not his mouth.

Feely better hope the chiefs keep both LOL. Nick Novak might become his personal demon following him around the league taking his well deserved jobs!

ROFL

Where are all the Feely apologists now? This guy is writing checks with his mouth that his leg can no longer cash.

Good shot Mondo! lol

Not a team player....big mouth....wants to be in papers more than on a team.....and he's just a kicker and gets cut and then bad mouths his former employer. Why do I feel like I have heard of this before? Karma's a S.O.B. Hope Espn gets the picture too. Thanks for being one media member who didn't lament his departure as some players' player that this regime coldly turned their back on and showed both sides of the story. When it comes to kickers, just put it through the up rights.

I still think this move is shocking, regardless of where he finished in converted field goals over a two-day span. He still kicked a solid 80 percent, and he is far more proven than either Nick Novak or Connor Barth. He is the only one out of the three that has proven he can produce at a high level during NFL games.

And I love all these morons ripping Feely for kicking 80 percent during the first two days after signing with a team. SAVE_US.Y2J and FirsT Take's comments are especially dumb. First of all - the numbers aren't bad. Secondly, if you think Feely wouldn't produce over a 16-game season, you're nuts. He'd easily perform better than Novak or Barth.

Obviously Chris 2 different NFL franchises believed that new blood was better than a proven commodity. Both franchises have had problems the last few years and no one else is pounding on the door for Feely. Do you see a pattern here? Maybe big mouth veteran kickers with high pay and bad numbers aren't needed? Maybe a goalpost is in the same place on every football field?

I STILL HAVE MY JOB....HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

OHHHHH, LOOK...I STILL HAVE MY JOB!!!! HEY FEELY...WANNA BE A HOLDER INSTEAD??

I wouldn't be shocked if Jay called into Joe Rose's show tommorrow morning and complain about his release from the Chiefs. Jay can sit there and yammer on all he wants about "being the best kicker in the NFL this year." The problem with that is, it's hard to do that when he doesn't have a job. It took two weeks for Jay to find his latest job, how long will it take this next time around?

Jay is pretty much becoming another Mike Vanderjagt.

Damn, nowhere but the NFL do you go from hero to goat faster. I don't feel to bad though, Feely has his millions to fall back on till he gets a job at ESPN. When this happens to us in the real world we get a Swingline stapler and a measly $275 a week unemployment check. As Peyton Manning said, who cares what the drink idiot kicker says.

Oops I meant drunk

Let's see how much he badmouths KC now. Another good move to save money and get younger.

Is Chris Nelson Jay Feely's agent?

I really liked Jay until he disrespected the team at the end.
He should have went out like a professional and not whine and cry!

Good riddance!!

Awww......Chris Nelson get his little feelings hurt......or is this really Jay Freely? I wouldn't put it past him. Hey Jay....I mean Chris, shouldn't you be practicing and trying to find a new employer instead of doing the very thing that got you run out of miami in the first place?

Chris Nelson - if you like him so much then you hire him. Maybe he can mow your lawn - if you have one.

Great writeup Mando you too TheChampionUnderdog
I thought the comments were funny.

MANDO!!!

GET OVER IT ALREADY!! YOU ARE SOOO BITTER FEELY PUT YOU ARE THERE ON 790 THE TICKET. KNOW YOUR FACTS ABOUT THE FINS AND THAT WOULD OF NEVER HAPPEN TO YOU.

JUST GET OVER IT AND GROW UP MANDO

Finsfan: If Mando was so bitter about Feely (and I assume vice versa) why did Jay admit to him and him only that the Dolphins had told him to shut his mouth to save his job?

Armando was the first, and I think, only journalist that wrote this or talked about it on radio. So get yourself a chill pill because you don't seem to know what you think you know.

Willi,

Feeley admited that because it was true. Mando wrote and talked about a incident on a plane that was totaly false and MANDO GOT CALLED ON IT LIVE ON THE RADIO AND HE HAS TAKEN THAT TO HEART EVER SINCE AND YOU KNOW THAT!

SO MANDO NO NEED TO HATE, GET YOUR FACTS STIGHT THEN WHITE ABOUT IT, AUSE THAT REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL

Willi,

SO MANDO NO NEED TO HATE, GET YOUR FACTS STRIGHT THEN WRITE ABOUT IT, BECAUSE THAT IS REALLY UNPROFESSIONAL.

ALSO WHO THE HELL WRITES ABOUT KICKERS, AS MUCH AS MANDO DOES. REAL BITTER GROW UPPPPP

Oh man, that was priceless! Good job Mando it's nice to start the day with a laugh.

Hey finfan lighten up. Why are you sticking up for the guy who took a cheap shot at our team on his way out the door, who's side are you on here? Who cares what Mando may or may not have done, it doesn't change the fact that Feely is a putz.

haha i love when i see people rip mando on his blog, the same blog you read daily. You ever think morons that he called him out on it cause they didn't want there dirty laundry aired publicly??? oh well keep messin with him we all know you will still be back tomorrow and everyday after that to read his blog regardless.....jackass

NY SCOTT,

YOU ARE RIGHT FEELY IS A PUTZ, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, MANDO NEEDS TO BE A BETTER MAN AND LET HIS HURT FEELING GO ALREADY. THE DUDE DOES NOT PLAY FOR THE FINS ANY MORE, HE TOOK A SHOT ON OUR TEAM, AND MANDO CONTINUES TO WRITE ABOUT HIM. WHY YOU MUST ASK? WELL BECAUSE HE PUT MANDO'S CREDITBILITY ON LIVE RADIO, AND MANDO LOOKED REALL SHADY THAT DAY, AND HIS FEELING ARE STILL HURT 7 MONTHS LATER!!!

DONT GET ME WRONG, I LIKE MANDO'S WORK, BUT I JUST FEEL HE IS ACTING LIKE A CRYBABY, WHEN IT GETS DOWN TO FEELY.

Funny post Mando

Again this just proves the point that the Trifecta knew what they were doing. I think Carpenter will be a good replacement.

I remember reading before however, that Carpenter is not as proficient at on-side kicks as Feeley was. Is this something they are working on in practice?

There doesn't seem to be much of a market for Jay Feely. I thought he wanted to get with a playoff team. I guess he's not good enough.

The fact the Giants haven't come calling after Tynes was hurt speaks volumes!

Sorry, but I'm not wrong. If you think Feely is worse than Novak or Barth, you're wrong. And, if you think there has EVER been an NFL kicker that hasn't had a two-day span of practice where he's kicked 80 percent or worse, you're wrong again.

Dick C and I have a special plan for Jay F. We're sending him to a remote African nation to find yellow cake Uranium that Iran is interested in buying, and we're pretty sure Jay will come back with the right answer this time!

Good blog Mando, Feely was pissed at getting cut by the fins, for a young guy making less cash and making more FGs. Then he spouts off vs the Fins and moves on to KC. KC realizes the same thing that the Fins did and release him too. This is a news story with some merit to Dolphin fans. Not as big as Pennington beating Farve but until then it will have to suffice, Thanks Mando.

1). I just want finsfan to write in some more caps and 2). This is for Super Fan of Jay Feely, Chris Nelson, he is an expensive aging place kicker that is obviously injured and has been beaten out at 2 different locations. The dolphins gave him 3 months and it only took Kansas City a day to realize his problems. He is a kicker. Let me say this again, a kicker that has a habit of being a team distraction and obviously likes to take any problems he has to the media. If we were having this discussion about Zach Thomas I might be a little more sympathetic towards you however I am talking about a one and done dolphin not a future hall of famer.

Finfan: First let me do this in a manner you understand -- WHEN JAY FEELY CALLED INTO THE RADIO SHOW WHILE I WAS DISCUSSING THE NEAR FIGHT THE DOLPHINS HAD ON THEIR FLIGHT HOME FROM NEW ENGLAND LAST YEAR, HE ACTUALLY CONFIRMED WHAT I WAS SAYING THAT THERE WAS A CONFRONTATION. HIS CONTENTION WAS THAT IT DIDN'T START OVER A CARD GAME AS I HAD STATED. I ACCEPTED THAT DETAIL CHANGE. AFTER ALL, HE WAS THERE. HAVING SAID THAT, NO RIGHT THINKING PERSON WOULD ARGUE THAT DESTROYS MY CREDIBILITY. IF YOU DO, IT IS STRAGE TO ME YOU CONTINUE TO COME ON HERE AND READ THIS BLOG RELIGIOUSLY. I APPRECIATE YOU DOING THAT, BUT PLEASE RELATE THINGS ACCURATELY BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT YOU ASK ME TO DO.

One more thing: Why do you type in all caps all the time? Hit the caps lk key again. It's a wonderful thing.

Mando,

Ok i stand corrected, but dam you have to admit, everything time there's a story bout Feely, there goes Mando writing about it.Theirs something behind that even tho you will never admit it.

ood by the way I LOVE CAPPPSSSSSSSSSSS! HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH

KC's decision to cut Jay Feely will haunt the Dolphins for decades.

Finfan: Armando is wrong.

Armando: I am right and Finfan is wrong.

Finfan: I am wrong. Sorry.

Everybody else: Thank you for ending caps locks, Mando.

Forget about Feely. He is gone. Let's worry about our players. We have Dan Carpenter as our kicker. Let Jay worry about Jay. He's got his plate full right now just trying to get a job. Why are we always tryuing to spin the soap opera side of sports?...as in the Life and Times of our Former Kicker Jay Feeley. Let's get back to Dolphin football. Lest we forget we were 1-15 last year.

Wow! The Tuna comes through again with the right decision on which kicker to keep. All the crap we had to hear about Feeley this and Feeley that. Boo Freakin' Hoo. Feeley was great last year for the phins and we won how many games because of that leg? Oh, that's right... NONE. When his leg is healthier the kicks will be there for someone to pick up. for the Phins it was the right time to move on. We need a guy kicking now who accurate NOW. Our new team might be close in games now where a kick just might mean a victory. Feeley, right now, is NOT that guy.

It's because Herm Edwards is an idiot.

In pregame warmups a few weeks ago I watched the kickers because I was a punter in my playing days. 2 things, Feely was constantly getting under the ball and popping it up and in so doing getting almost no distance, Carpenter was booming his FG attempts and was getting nearly twice the distance.

The knock on Carpenter was that he wasn't a proven bad weather kicker like Feely was, Carpenter played for Montana, have any of you ever been there in the fall/winter? New England weather is balmy compared to Montana.

Also our punter uses a poor grip style on the ball, his back hand should be under the ball in order to get a more consistent feed to the foot, instead he holds it with the back hand almost on top of the ball, a sure way to have the wind blow the ball away from your foot in a bad weather game.
