Happy Monday!!!!
Tony Sparano will have his day-after press conference today although it is two days after Saturday's game. Have I mentioned to you guys the Dolphins have the worst media policies in the NFL? Any, I digress ...
Figured it would be a good time to interact with you since the game blog went so well but not all of you had a chance to see the game. So there will be a live blog on here between 1-2 p.m. today.
If you have questions or comments about YOUR Miami Dolphins, feel free to leave them here now or come on here during that time. I'll answer, agree, disagree, applaud, juggle, or whatever.
If you cannot be here at that time, you can leave your thoughts now in the comments section and they'll be first in the batting order when I come back at 1 p.m.

CP: Parcells has told me they will be looking to add talent everywhere on the roster even after they establish their 53 man roster. So anyone that gets cuts in Dallas, or anyone that they feel is better than the guy here, will be brought in.

If Parcells is looking to add talent can we sign Chris Henry then? As a WVU grad I have followed him for some time now and can guarantee 2 things. He will 1. catch the ball, score touchdowns and make plays and 2. get arrested! I think we can live with the second if it brings the first!!!

Chester: Moore is the kind of big (255 pounds) linebacker the Dolphins like. I would not be surprised there would be interest. he's also not THAT old at 29. I will check further on that.

Edswood: I had no problems with getting rid of Alabi. He simply wasn't a tough dude. He had three years to figure it out and never did so it was time to move on. Mormino, last I heard, was not in a training camp so what does that say about him?
The one cut I disagreed with was ZAch. I understand he doesn't fit the mold here and he's going to be 35 years old. But I think the Dolphins could have gotten something for him considering New England, New Orleans and Dallas were on him five seconds after he got cut here.

Eric: Terry Glenn is rehabbing his knee. Last I heard he could not pass a physical.

Chris: Eric Kumerow gave that many snaps for two seasons and then was out of the league. He was also a first-round pick, no?
I'm not saying Roth is a star. But he is not a bust ... yet.

Nicky: Why would I go to practice when I can hang with you guys?
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 11, 2008 at 02:21 PM
Ringo: Obviously you are including only victories in you multiple choice. I understand why, although the Dolphins lost some very memorable games -- such as the 22-21 loss to San Diego where the Chargers turned off the lights in the halftime locker room, or the Bills games in the snow up there.
but as far as a victory, I enjoyed the Marino-Montana game and the Jan. 1999 victory over Buffalo where Jimmy Johnson danced on a box of flutie flakes after the game and that pissed off Flutie.

Jon: I don't think he'll be on the early versions. He might be on versions sold later in the year.

OK, thanks to all of you for participating (even you Johnny). God bless you all.

With WR limited options available at this time, what teams have depth at WR? When is the next major cut down when someone decent might become available who could help?

Armando - You are right again!! But then who will let us know how Pennington is looking as our starting QB and how many balls Wilford drops???

i remember that san diego game. . screwy calls all the way through. . most against the phins. . also, dan took us into field goal range and stoyo blew it. it collapsed for us in the second half because in the first half dan was red hot. he threw like 3 t's or something like that. i had not heard about the lights being cut out at the half. . would you mind elaborating?

I guess I sort of agree with you Mando. It is just besides Long, Smiley, Carey, and Satele the OL is horrendous. Thomas has potential but is still a bit raw, and Mckinney is a decent backup. The rest of the guys probably would not start for most colleges. I think OL depth and WR are where we have to look the hardest at when cuts come. As for Zach I agree %100. A stand up guy discarded like trash. However, watching the Dallas preseason game and Hard Knocks I am actually really happy for him. Since the fins aren't going to do anything this year I have no problem with him winning a SB and going out in style. Hard to say that since I have never cared for America's team but better than the Pats getting another one. Thanks for answering my question, and taking the time to do this blog.

Mando, baby, its not an opinion, its just a request. Just the facts.
By the way that was pretty funny talking about media policies and the Cheatriots. Its clear that they gained unfair advantages to win those 3 championships. They also took many players from this franchise to field those teams. Kind of funny how they knew all the details of Welker's situation and exactly what to do. By the way that's not a media thing, that's was more of an in-house problem.
Parcells understands what goes on in the league, hence why the franchise will now play everything close to the vest. With a team like the Cheatriots in the divison can you blame him.
Hopefully the hoops they make you guys jump through will be worth it when they win a championship. One can only hope.
Sorry I missed you live.

Mando - great read, but a request..... is there any way you can attach your answers to the actual questions. You address your answer to a name, but the question might be 10 or 20 posts above your answer. It makes it tough to follow.

I know Camarillo is and likely will always be known for our only win last year, but how is he doing in camp so far? Also even though I'm glad we signed Pennington I really like Henne. In your opinion, how much work REALLY has to be done before Miami can win?PS Why are our recievers having so much trouble catching passes?

My main comment is about Pennington. I live in Atlanta, and get very little Dolphins coverage, but even here I can feel the difference in the tone coming from the QB position, since he has shown up. He started off right away making connections with those he will be working with. Talking, and mentoring the young QB's during the game, and I assume, now at practice. Connecting with the WR's, and O linemen. He started getting to know everyone who would take a minute to speak with him. He has shown leadership, and class in the way he has handled the situation with Favre. The reaction Coles has shown over the situation speaks volumes about what kind of person he is, as does the fact that he advised Coles to handle the change better than he has to this point. I didn't want us to pick him up for all the previously mentioned reasons, but now that he is here, I am actually glad. If his class, professionalism, and leadership can rub off on the other QB's( or the rest of the team, for that matter), I think he will improve our team, whether he ever plays a down, or not.

Tree, great post as always but Pennington will play and he will win. The guy is a breath of fresh air and just what our O needed. The QB is the leader and all we had was 2 rookies and a guy who had been thrown into every situation and told 'sink or swim buddy'.
Now with CP we have a leader who has won and is very accurate. I truly like McCown and hope he picks CP's brain because that guy needs some lovin. We can also assess which receivers will make it because CP will get the ball to where they can make a play. No more excuses WRs!
