Dolphins put Pats in sight, try to forget Cards

The Dolphins are back at practice and preparing for their meeting with the New England Patriots Sunday.

Here is what is happening:

On Monday coach Tony Sparano said no changes were in order at quarterback and along the offensive line, but added he had to think about things when discussing the secondary. That was code for something is about to happen in the secondary.

And it has.

Chris Crocker is apparently out as the starting free safety this week. Renaldo Hill, the starter there the past two seasons before he blew out a knee in 2007, has recaptured the starting job as of today. While that can still change as Crocker recovers from a stinger injury, it doesn't seem to be a change prompted by health.

It seems more prompted by Arizona throwing for 361 yards while the Miami secondary was often out of position and in blown wrong coverages. Hill is obviously a better communicator back there than Crocker and that was one of Miami's problems against Arizona.

It is clear the other area of concern for Miami the receiver spot. Sparano was paying extra attention to the group today and there were no kind words coming out of his mouth. Fact is there were a couple of expletives from the coach directed at the players.

Meanwhile Ted Ginn Jr., who got fewer snaps in the three-wide package last week, is scheduled to be back with the group this week. While this also can change as the week of practice progresses, the early plan is to use Ginn ahead of Derek Hagan in three-wide. The other two are Davone Bess and Greg Camarillo.

All I have to say is good luck with Hill at safety this week against the very receiver who caused him to tear his ACL on a Brady bomb. He's obviously better than Crocker, just a bad week for him to start opposite Moss again. I'm gonna miss JT making Cassell look amateur the way he did when NE put him in for that ONE drive during the blowout last year.

Also I don't care that this team only has one quality starter who has been drafted in the past decade. I will blame this on Parcells eventhough at the time he was building winning franchises in NE,NY,and Dallas. His track record says he won't be able to do it here. Yes he did it everywhere else he went but he won't do it here. If history tells us anything it tells us that it doesn't repeat. Parcells and Ireland helped build the Cowboys into superbowl contenders but I will give all of the credit to Wade Phillips, history proves that he is a great coach. I also think we are stupid for not giving up a 1st and second round pick for Boldin. Why not?! Trading away high picks for players got us to where we are today, ofcourse we should do it again! Wake up you turds!

my two pence worth:

OC poor game planning 7-8 at least in the box is stopping our run game. Penny can't get the ball down the field any better than my lil sister.

DC is asleep. Why freaking blitz every down instead of a lil double coverage. The blitz has produced very little compared to what we gave up by using it.

I don't know if it is fair to put Henne behind this OC game plan. At half point in the season, if its still more of the same, put Henne in and let him learn. He might suprize some people, Penne hasn't and won't scare anyone, he so one predictable.

Dolphanforlife,

You need to let a load go. Get laid dude!

Maybe we can get some help in October with the midseason trade.I hope we don't have to wait til then though. It seems as if we finally have a quarterback but every other position is lacking.I don't really expect to win Sunday especially since we lost to 2 mediocre teams already. But it is still early so good luck Fins. It's hard not to feel as if we are heading in the same direction as last year even with better staff & supposedly better players. But anything can happen.

Whoever is signing my name to these posts please stop. You are not me.

I think it is too early to put Henne in. I know some say let him make mistakes now and blah, blah blah. But Pennington is the best choice for now, and besides if our recievers don't make plays it really won't matter who is at the helm. It hasn't so far! I wish it was easy to say it's only Week 2 and not time to panic but these are the Fins. We don't have the luxury of other 0-2 teams that can be laid-back & not wonder if a win is in the cards. And these last statements don't mean I am not a TRUE fan. I am merely expressing my frustrations and opinions.

You notice how every configuration of receives has included Bess? Reminds me of a Welker type. On a bad team, he looks like he is not good enough to get it done - you need an upgrade. On a good team, he would be very valuable.

We have lots of problems at WR, but this is the right way to operate. Previous regime got the 2nd round pick for Wes Welker, but this group did the hard part which is finding a guy off the street who can replace him.

We should have drafted Brady Quinn and Randy Moss. Also we should trade for ocho cinco, fire sparano, and hire bill cowers. while we're at it we should build a levitating stadium and play on Mars as the NFL expands.

I like it when mommy wipes me.

LOL

Both NE running backs Maroney and Jordan did not participate in practice this week with injuries. NE is w/o Brady and has two banged up RB's...it will never get any better vs the Pats than this!!! We MUST win!

All is lost; no way out

Dumb Dmb dumb. <-- lol fire everyone!! hire everyone else!! thats one of the reasons we suck now. Cower didnt want to return, Pace chose the stinking je t s (hard time writeing that) Arizona wouldnt let Boldin go, Cincy wouldent let the idiot go, get the point hindsight is 20/20 (misspelled on poupous)

As pointed out before Allen has failed through three regimes and hasn't been able to crack the line up he obviously has deficiencies, what he didn't let us down at the end of last year? That is because you could heard a bunch of three legged elephants through our D-line!! why the hell would you pass the ball. duhh

All I know is I think I would make a ton of money if I set up an anger management site on this blog. Why do I get the feeling that while some of you are tearing at each others throats, Armando is reading this smack from his comfortable surroundings and busting up laughing? Come on Mando, you know you love it.
"Go Phins!"

Sometimes a turd is just a turd. Now let's move on...

DolphanforLife writes, "Losers find a way to loose and make no mistake, The Dolphins are a loosing team with a loosing coaching staff and a lost front office."

It spelled 'lose' not 'loose' and 'losing' not 'loosing'. You did spell 'loser' correctly however. It's good to be able to spell one's own name. Kudos.

Dear Joey Porter,

Thank you for the bulletin board material:

Sincerely,

The New England Patriots

P.S. The Dolphins may win on Sunday. I truly could happen. But we won't brag -- unless we win.

P.P.S. Thanks to the Miami Herald for putting the word "Football" next to "Dolphins" on your web site. Otherwise, no one would ever know the Dolphins (losers of 20 of their last 21 games) exist -- especially the fans! AAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I just went on a blind date with a girl I hadn't seen since high school. Her ass was as big as Richmond Webb's in his latter days. Being a dolphin fan is MUCH better than being seen with her in public. At least I can smile about something this season. By the way, there are some real idiots on this blog. I am ecstatic about the change in management/coaching...do not expect anything from this year except to find a core of young players. Next year will be crap too...get used to it..third year will be the year. All smart fans realize this. The retards will always post their "fire sparano...start Jason Allen...Parcells is a turd" comments...will never change. Also, it's an indictment on the American school system that two out of every three posters that call the Dolphins losers actually call them "loosers"..lol.

Bill B -- Maybe you'll get some consolation if you beat a rebuilding team and start the season 3-0. But, you barely beat 2 very bad teams in the first 2 weeks. Face it -- your season is in the tank regardless of your record right now. Hell, last season went in the tank as well. All those wins meant squat after the Giants handed you your as*es! I've got one last thing to say: AAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

It would be fool hearty to start playing Chad Henne now because Sparano already knows he needs to leave some hope and mystique for the off season.

See, Henne wasnt that great at Michigan but he has the "pro tools" so he offers the kind of hope that Dolphin fans are clamoring for now that it's an 0-2 start.

But if he starts playing now and tosses 15 INTs, or cannot make all the throws people expect he would, the mood around Miami is going to not only be bitter, but disinterested.

Wow, reality bites! But, this thing can turn around if the offensive line starts to gel and the running backs find some space.

Everything starts to look a lot better then, and Sprano knows it.

I get a kick out of Dolphanforlife. Calling everyone stupid. He cant even spell the word lose correctly.

Don't matter who's in there Moss, Welker, Gaffney the boys are gettin scorched.Penny just said he's only been here 6 weeks, how do you expect the WR's to be any good for a while, too much wishin for the fishins, I'm a goin fishin till next seasin! adios 08, see ya at da dwaft.

Dear heirshouse,

While I agree with everything you said about the Dolphins, I take issue with your references to my ass.

Aside from your comments being deeply sexist and mean, don't you remember that back in high school I was a dude? Have you forgotten I was on the OL? I'm deeply hurt.
