Live blog from Dolphins versus Cards today

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Got here extremely early for today's game between the Dolphins and Cardinals and ran into a former league source now working for the Cardinals. Asked him the real chances of his team trading receiver Anquan Boldin this year.

"Zero," he said. "Absolutely zero. I don't know what will happen after the season but I just don't see Anquan going anywhere this year."

So much for the rumors of Boldin coming to the Dolphins. While I wish that could happen for Miami's sake it just isn't in the, pardon the pun, cards. I know Boldin is from Florida. I know his agent Drew Rosenhaus would like to make it happen and continues to press Arizona to trade Boldin.

But the Cards hold all the, pardon the pun again, cards.

They have rebuffed at least one team's inquiry about Boldin and they have refused to give Rosenhaus permission to shop his client.

Understand that doesn't mean Boldin might not be moved in the offseason or some time before his current contract expires in 2010. But he is just as likely to get a new deal in Arizona before then as get traded.

So much for that rumor.

I can report to you that Ernest Wilford will be active today. The Dolphins are making Brandon London inactive to make room for Wilford on the active roster. Ricky Williams is still scheduled to start. Greg Camarillo will start at wide receiver.

Anyway, I hope you guys are ready for today's live blog. It'll start at kickoff. Join me then.

fire the secondary coach. we suck on pas defense

yea, third and HENNE throwing, not penny slow ass weak arm, i have seen enough

im with you on firing the secondary coach,

larry, u r now the secondary coach, kick ass

Okay Harri good point. And Pete we have so many holes to fill I'm scared about using that first rounder on another QB. That will be 3 in a row with high picks while we still have needs at LB,WR,DB ETC. So maybe that IS the perfect reason to start Henne. You both make great points but we know Parcells history. Loves his veteran qbs as evidenced by his refusal to play Romo.

i played corner and safty

Welcome aboard marino13, grab a seat and we'll get you a beer!

i hit was smaller but i hit like the !! who can hold that?

cane 4 life

let sporano himself coach the o line since thats his deal, hire a good o coordinator like chan gailley, and let wanny come back and run that jimmy johnson defense he ran, or let butch davis come run some D

see why i like u scott?

there are a lot of holes to fill on both sides of the ball, and yes we have wasted some high picks on qbs either in the draft or by trading. Still got to go back to Peytons atrocious first season where they went 1-15. We have no expectations and nothing to lose.

lets call big bill and tell him how we feel......i'm gonna put Sarah on his ass

can't even say your name, nice

the fins took a dump today and forgot to wipe, you could tell because they even stunk through the tv

well, the question coming in wasnt personel, it was coaching and quarterback from last year, now its personel and getting personal

With Pennington at QB the defense plays up on receivers and dare him to throw it deep. Most teams draft or sign difference makers but the dolphins look for players that are average and think that they can make them great. Stop passing on great players to look under rocks for them. Stop trying to be geniuses and draft and coach good players the db's are crap!!!!! All of them and have been for years.

After this game, I don't quite know what to think. After all the talk from the new regime about getting younger, stronger, etc., today the defense looked weak, slow , and confused. Men and against boys....... What's the deal tuna? Gonna cut someone in favor of someone else who can "do more jobs ?" That's really worked.
Again, big thanks to the prior staff for their brillant drafts. It's really showing up now.

ahmen to that

Why do they keep trying to run this 3-4 defense? They don't have 4 LB's. Porter is done, Crowder is Wayyyy overrated. If you ran a 4-3, you'd have Langford, Merling, Starks. and Holiday. At least run it now and then until you get the right people here. These safties absolutely blow too btw. Not that the CB's are that much better. Allen is a #2 CB at best. Goodmen should be the Nickel back, not the starter. The WR's aren't even worth my breath. Hopefully Miami will trade a pick for Roy Williams or Anquan Boldin because a true #1 WR never hits FA. Why take a WR with a high pick and give him a boat load of money when you don't even know if he's good? Might as well give it to a proven stud. Any yea, Penny sucks

i dont know how anyone watched that game... i was unbearable on the internet updates i was getting on the nfl's website.. i couldnt even make it through that... 2007 any other player... i was hoping on Penn St. middle linebacker...were is he now... division rival bills... smoken fools... ted ginn... doing nothing... awesome...

the fins should have went after dre bly last year

werent we ahead of the chargers in the draft when they took cromarte

Since each Dudphin administration makes us miss their predecessors, let's guess who will run the show next year! I say the head coach will be Larry Coker and the general mangler will be Matt Millen. Actually, Millen might be an improvement. Seriously, has Parsmells made ONE RIGHT MOVE so far? One! Not so far. Jake Long, as far as I'm concerned, is already the worst #1 draft pick in NFL history.

i liked the draft picks this year, but not the free agent moves, we could have done better with the money we had

it's to early to start henne. I would rather that he sit the first have of games and then come in the second half, this way he can digest the game from the sidelines. Off course don't play him if we are winning.

I promised all of you the team would be improved...to 2-14. Look for us to be 1-7 and then 2-14. I promise.

And remember what I told you when I signed. I suck, remember? I S-U-C-K. That's why the J-E-T-S got rid of me for a washed up 37 year-old quarter back.

Get real, people. What the heck did you all expect?

i just want a team who doesnt look like a monkey F@#$EN a football out there on dfense... i dont want a flash in the pan offense... just a D... for the love of god i want a D

BTW, I really appreciate the $11.5 million you saps are paying me. Now that the other Chad is taking over, I'm on easy street. This is great!

oh no, i believe henne can get it done, remember,he was on a team in college that was as good as it was with him , long, and only two other really good players, i think he has what it takes

Chad Pennington makes Kent Graham look like Dave brown.

i think kijana carter was the worst 1st pick in nfl history ever....

wasnt bosworthless a number 1

I don't even know who Dave Brown is. But if that's true, I'm okay with it.

so how do u feel about Miami?

its were crapy QB's go to die but get paid well while they are doing it....

ok so next draft we take, two corners and percy harvin for wideout

i say we draft the whole usc team

are the 72 dolphin coaches still alive along with shula, hey just throwing out options

We are all fools for following this trainwreck. I don't why I let this team ruin my Sundays year after year. I am tired of it. But, I will be back next Sunday thinking they can win in NE.

NO LARRY we will not let these players drain the life out of Don Shula... please we must keep the part of my heart with this team... if don shula cant come in and make sense out of this mess (which i dont think anyone alive can) i have nothing left.

We need every game for the next few to start Pennington and then bring in Henne. This will allow him to build up some experience and gradually take over the role. The difference in Henne's arm strength and Pennington's is unreal.

Guys. Remember. You can't churn 95% of your team out the door and not expect this. They are finding out who are keepers and I guarantee you that we will see some more guys cut this week. This year doesn't matter except finding a nucleus of guys to be on this team next year. Then we will do it again next offseason. This is a 3-4 year build. Not an offseason and 2 games. If we were 8-8 then that would have been one thing. At 1-15 and no quarterback this is what happens. Patience Fin Fans!

i just hope we dont spend another pic on offense... no reason to... defense defense defense

i think alot more changes in the roster starting in the secondary

or a new team rule no cover, no cash your check

Henne better than cassel, we can win in NE next week, be 1-1 in division.

We're winning two games?? Against whom?? Kansas City? On the road. No chance. They'll run train on us. And they're the second-worst team in the league, and they'll still run train on us. Baltimore? No way. In fact, I guarantee Cam Cameron will have the gameplan of his life to put 50 on the board against us. Oakland? We couldn't stop Thomas Jones; we're going to stop McFadden? At St. Louis - on the road. No chance. We'll be their only win this year. San Fran? Heck, they beat Seattle on the road; they might not be so bad.
It's going to get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better. Maybe by 2015 we'll get to 2 wins.
You know, at least last year, in the early part of the season, before he got injured, at least we had Ronnie Brown putting up 200+ yards rushing/receiving a few times... Not this year.
And we haven't played a good team yet. We've still got 2 against NE, 2 against Buffalo, San Diego, at Denver (holy crap, Cutler might throw for 600)...
2008 will make 2007 look like 1972 and 1973 all over again.

Such a pessimist. Have faith in the Chadhead.

StopTheWhiningBandwagonFans.....you're an idiot. What about 9-7 Saban's year? that wasn't a rebuilding year apparently w/ a young draft?

When Henne played the run game worked, the receivers showed some athletic ability and we scored a td.
Just like in preseason.
Just like at Michigan.

When Henne played, it was garbage time and Arizona was just trying to get into the locker room to celebrate their win and laugh at how effing pathetic and incompetent we are. On every level, in every sport.

Fact is the players regardless of their own talent, did not execute basic football knowledge. They played lost on a big field. Tackling, blocking, running routes, catching, defending and coaching were below pro football standards. If that does not bother you, then maybe you dont like football that much or you are in denial,or like some here ,keep buying that slogan " have patience,it takes time to build a good team". You can not get better with out using those skills mentioned above, and the dolphins have NOT been doing this for years now. wake up, its a con! I am not sure if I can take a worse year than last year, I might cheer(this make me sad to even think it) a little for dallas and zack thomas. Something huge has to happen this week with parcells or this team will implode as well as what fan base is left. Good luck!

Henne makes the db's respect the possibility of a pass, not even a deep pass, just the pass. Penningtons problem is that he throws 15yrd hail mary's and needs more then 5 seconds to make a decision on what he is going to do with the ball...Henne on the other hand takes a true 3 step drop and either throws the ball, checks down, or gets rid of it...My wishlist of players to cut = Pennington, Ginn, Goodman, Beck; This will open up three spots for DB's and another spot for an O lineman. I question a lot of the coaching decisions made such as even playing Ginn at that point in the game, and then on top of that deciding not to even TRY to run a playaction bomb in Ginns direction.

Pennington is the biggest joke the Jets could have possibly played on the Dolphins, their day was that much better even though they lost because they know how horrible Pennington is, I mean they gave up their starter for a 40qb who cant decide whether or not he even wants to play.

I think the Phins need to get old school quick, we need to run run run run run play action run run run run run play action

With the first pick in the 2009 NFL draft the Miami Dolphins select....

The Dolphins go for oh!!!

As in 0-16

They almost made it last year but this year they are even worse!!!

Two games against mediocre-at-best competition.. 121 total yards rushing. Longest play from scrimmage - 24 yards. In the meantime, we've already given up three plays of 50+.
This franchise is so effed, at every possible position, that it may be too much of a hole to ever dig out of. Even if we did miraculously hit on a draft pick and a free agent signing or two, so what? So that'll give us three good players and fifty bums who should be in federal prison for impersonating a football player?
Here's what we know so far...
Ricky Williams is done.
Ronnie Brown is not 100% and may never be 100% again.
Jake Long is a bust at left tackle.
Not one member of the defense is worth the slightest damn. Including Kendall Langford and his penalties.
The two best players on the team are undrafted WRs.
If we put Chad Henne in there from the start, he's going to get killed behind this line.
This team... has zero hope. Zero direction. Zero anything. None. Nada. Zilch. Nil.

To Justin V. You asked if anyone knew how to get the game online. I know!! You just go to
www.MiamiDolphinsBlow.com. But why would you want to be subjected to the the can of ass whoopin that the Cardinals arer opening up on them!! They're getting beaten like a drum!! To want to watch this complete debacle just sounds a little masacistic if you ask me.

just got back from the game this team looked just as bad as last years clown squad! we need to upgrade our talent level at DB WR and LB... Henne was the only feel good thing I saw today he looked like the real deal...

I understand the Collective Bargaining Agreement would not allow it, but wouldn't it be great if Parcells could just show up after the game and make some cuts right there--you guys select the cuts--in the locker room and then have them make own arrangements for getting back to South Florida.

Parcells has never been around an organization this insipid. He is not going to like being made a fool of, but then he works for a guy who wins a World Series and then immediately breaks up a team the VERY NEXT year when any business model would have shown that year after Championship was THE YEAR to build the sport for a generation instead of destroying it. Then if he wanted to sell he could have done really well and been seen as a saint.

Come to think of it, you don't think that hex I put on the Dolphins in 1998 that called for crass mediocrity for 50 years actually worked??

To Justin V. You asked if anyone knew how to get the game online. I know!! You just look up
www.MIAMIDOLPHINSBLOW.com for all the action.
Update: So far the Cardinals are opening up a can of ass whoop on them!! The Phins must double as a musical instrument because they're getting beaten like a drum. Why anyone would want to watch this complete debacle is beyond me. ...unless of course your masacistic.
