Live blog from Dolphins versus Cards today

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Got here extremely early for today's game between the Dolphins and Cardinals and ran into a former league source now working for the Cardinals. Asked him the real chances of his team trading receiver Anquan Boldin this year.

"Zero," he said. "Absolutely zero. I don't know what will happen after the season but I just don't see Anquan going anywhere this year."

So much for the rumors of Boldin coming to the Dolphins. While I wish that could happen for Miami's sake it just isn't in the, pardon the pun, cards. I know Boldin is from Florida. I know his agent Drew Rosenhaus would like to make it happen and continues to press Arizona to trade Boldin.

But the Cards hold all the, pardon the pun again, cards.

They have rebuffed at least one team's inquiry about Boldin and they have refused to give Rosenhaus permission to shop his client.

Understand that doesn't mean Boldin might not be moved in the offseason or some time before his current contract expires in 2010. But he is just as likely to get a new deal in Arizona before then as get traded.

So much for that rumor.

I can report to you that Ernest Wilford will be active today. The Dolphins are making Brandon London inactive to make room for Wilford on the active roster. Ricky Williams is still scheduled to start. Greg Camarillo will start at wide receiver.

Anyway, I hope you guys are ready for today's live blog. It'll start at kickoff. Join me then.

The Dolphins have no heart.. No passion.. I have been waiting soo long to be excited about this team, and every year it seems to end the first week or two. Nucleus? We have none.. We have not one defensive player. The past 8 drafts have killed us. I dont see us getting out of this hole, if ever. We dont have the loyal fan base in Mia to keep this team much longer. Why? Our home games arnt even home games. Its a disgrace

PS: I'm going to start calling Ted Ginn Jr, Jimmy Hoffa because nobody can seem to find him!

what we know for sure is that henne commands respect. and penny just dosen't have it thats why he is in a dolfin uni and not a jets

That's it!!! Someone must of kidnapped Ted Ginn Jr.. ala Jimmy Hoffa. I just hope he's not under Giants Stadium too.

I think Parcells just needs to cut a couple of our scurb DB's like goodman and cocker JJ style, let them get on the plane and cut them 10 minutes into the flight home... This team is looking just as bad if not worst than last years. And Ricky is done cut him too...

Git rid of Ricky. He played like he is still stoned. Useless. Enough is enough.

This dolphin team can only beat a team wearing dolphin´s jerseys.

Just kidding about Ted Ginn Jr. I like Teddy.
He is very fast and talented. He just needs work with his routes and finding the soft spots. He needs a stud receiver to line up across from him (ala Anquan Boldin) as well as help from Bess and Fasano/Martin. This would take pressure off him and would make a huge difference in speeding up his growing pains. In that scenario he can become a solid #2 WR.

Ricky is NOT the problem. He is still a very dangerous running back. Unfortunately, our RB's are the best thing about our offense. However, they need two things:

1. An OL that can run block and they are not doing a good job of that right now. and ...

2. (and this IS the reason for #1) they need a QB that defenses fear/respect. As long as defenses stack the line knowing the Penny is not a deep threat, Ricky and Ronnie are going to have a tough time of it.

I am sorry, but it is just that simple to see.

Was there any game this bad last year?

just a sad and sorry team, cant find a true QB. Ted Ginn a waste of draft pick in 07, the bottom line the Dolphins dont draft well. it gonna take time to find real players. just give the new front office time to change thing around.

there were 15 games that were this bad last year.

This downward spiral started when when drafted Ginn instead of QUINN. Brady Quinn would now be in his second year of starting and we would at least have that position figured out for the future. I still think the commish misread the pick and accidentally said Ginn instead of Quinn..........Camoron was too timid to correct him and just decided to go with it. Nobody in there right mind would have made that pick on purpose.........

I know it's only Week 2,but it is very hard to be patient with this team.Even though we have a new head coach, and are rebuilding, etc.etc that does not mean we should be 0-2.If we can't win over mediocre teams with grandpas at the helm, how are we gonna win over 26 year old Matt Cassel?I know we have been succesful against the Pats in recent seasons, but it was usually the 2nd meeting we won.So, I haven't given up on my team, but it very frustrating to be a Dolphins fan right now. With that said, Go Fins!

ok will do...these guys are kinda mad, is it bill, or sop, or just team in general....who says we need a new team! lolol I do! who says we need new coach! lol.I do...but now that we cussed out his coach, and team, i wonder what bill is thinking?? or is it his reason for not being on field...he knew we would be mad..lolol..AnyBody got any Idears on this mess..should we belive MR soprano, or not??. do you think hes pullimg our leg?? guess we will see next game, cant be no worse! Can it?? A loss is a loss, but look at this way, the FISH are leading the NFL in losses, so if you go back to bottom there they are..not bad for new team..anybody got any idears how this team can win 1 for gipper...some 1 find Bob or Dan for next game, we need older QB, to help us out..I see Dan on TV saying hes back to playing weight, and Bob looks ok fer older guy..or maybe we trade 2 QBS for Bobs son in tampa..Brian looked good in last game.. ok REDSOX@TAMPABAY is on..got to go..cya..THEY CALL ME RICK.

You gotta love COACH BADABING!

Just an update for all those that didn't think the dolphins would be good with Chad and Ricky.
The Dolphins are second in the division with a very good chance of making the playoffs.
