GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Got here extremely early for today's game between the Dolphins and Cardinals and ran into a former league source now working for the Cardinals. Asked him the real chances of his team trading receiver Anquan Boldin this year.
"Zero," he said. "Absolutely zero. I don't know what will happen after the season but I just don't see Anquan going anywhere this year."
So much for the rumors of Boldin coming to the Dolphins. While I wish that could happen for Miami's sake it just isn't in the, pardon the pun, cards. I know Boldin is from Florida. I know his agent Drew Rosenhaus would like to make it happen and continues to press Arizona to trade Boldin.
But the Cards hold all the, pardon the pun again, cards.
They have rebuffed at least one team's inquiry about Boldin and they have refused to give Rosenhaus permission to shop his client.
Understand that doesn't mean Boldin might not be moved in the offseason or some time before his current contract expires in 2010. But he is just as likely to get a new deal in Arizona before then as get traded.
So much for that rumor.
I can report to you that Ernest Wilford will be active today. The Dolphins are making Brandon London inactive to make room for Wilford on the active roster. Ricky Williams is still scheduled to start. Greg Camarillo will start at wide receiver.
Anyway, I hope you guys are ready for today's live blog. It'll start at kickoff. Join me then.

I hold Bill Parsmells personally accountable for this. He did the impossible - he took the biggest embarrassment in the NFL in the last 30 years and made them worse. 0-16. I defy anyone to tell me who we beat this year. We're worse than Kansas City. We're worse than San Francisco. We're worse than Detroit. We're worse than... well... everyone. We were better last year. Heck, at least we came within three points six times last year. We won't be within three points by midway through the first quarter for any games the rest of the year. And with the first pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, we'll select another bum (and his family, probably also from Ohio State or some other slow-ass Little Ten school), and just like Ginn (who has no position) and Jake Wrong (who might be a fine right tackle but is about as much of a left tackle as my doorknob), whoever we draft will be at the wrong position. Maybe we'll draft a defensive back and turn him into a tight end! Why not?
Parsmells is a fraud.

I agree this Secondary is the worst in the NFL. No one in this secondary should be back next year I mean "NO ONE"!!!

Chris, you, me, and thousands of other people knew they weren't going to win this weekend but unfortunately none of those people were phin fans. A lot of these people fooled themselves into thinking we were going to the playoffs this year and now that reality is hitting them in the face they want to start over again with new coaches

Ayodele is playing well. Are any of you whining morons actually watching the game? The problem isn't play-calling at least not on the offense.

We're getting killed by a Bill Bidwell team!!
Posted by: Turd Ferguson | September 14, 2008 at 05:46 PM
Did someone just say I wish we had Chatman? I wish they would put Ricky Williams on a shelf and let Ronnie touch the balls 30 times a game! Why is this so difficult to understand?
Posted by: Marc | September 14, 2008 at 05:46 PM
Why don't we just start over every season. That way the new coach can come in and tell us they need time to rebuild and when that doesn't happen in two games we can run them out of town and start over again and get ANOTHER coach and...............

Tony Sparano is worse than Cam Cameron.

Because I'm from Florida . And unlike 90% of our fan base I am actually loyal to my team.

NY Scott: They are mostly ignorant, have the attention span of gnats and expectation level of Pats fans...
Sparano is here for AT LEAST 3 years...get used to it nimrods.
Posted by: Chris | September 14, 2008 at 05:48 PM
Wayne Huizinger: You may know garbage. As owner you've turned my favorite NFL team into garbage. Who the hell ever heard of Tony Sparano until he was made head coach? You let a New Jersey thug run off Zack & Jason, the only respectable players we've had since Marino retired. Mr. Robbie must be turning over in his grave ! I know Coach Shula is disgusted.
Posted by: Dolphus | September 14, 2008 at 05:48 PM
NYSCOTT, noone wanted the playoffs....I would just like to see IMPROVEMENT! go hang yourself...

Posted by: | September 14, 2008 at 05:49 PM
Sparanop is worse than Cameron?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,,,,,WOW.
Posted by: Account Deleted | September 14, 2008 at 05:49 PM
Sparano said they needed to stop penalties and get field position.
They achieved that so far.
This is new group and they need to begin right there.
They cannot ever win without low penalties and field position.
They can o nly work on so much in practice as a group of basically strangers getting to know each other.
Looks bad in box score but is the footings they need
if they are ever going to win.
Posted by: Awache | September 14, 2008 at 05:50 PM
this is beyond embarrasment

LOL yea let's bash NYScott for being the only realistic poster on here today. And I thought Jets fans were the dumbest in the NFL...
Posted by: Sol | September 14, 2008 at 05:50 PM
I can understand when Miami's players aren't as good as another team's. But when Miami's players don't cover? Like at all?
Posted by: Armando Salguero | September 14, 2008 at 05:50 PM
GREAT FOOT WORK BY CROCKER AGAIN.......
Posted by: | September 14, 2008 at 05:50 PM
"I can't believe the amount of ignorance that infests this blog." Scott, we all love our team, but losing just does not feel good. We all knew that the fins were not heading for the superbowl. We did expect to see a better team than last year, and so far we have not seen that. For me it will take more wins than last year(lol just 2) for me to have something to cheer.
Posted by: William in Ks | September 14, 2008 at 05:50 PM
Boldin caught a 27 yrd pass, and Buerlein the announcer said it shouldn't be that easy in the NFL, to be so wide open. What he doesn't realize is the Dolphins are not an NFL team, can anybody say CANADA!
Posted by: Same crap Dif Season | September 14, 2008 at 05:52 PM
ARMANDO how can 90% of the fans DRAFT BETTER AND MAKE BETTER GAME DAY DECISIONS AS, COACHES AND SCOUTS WHO PUT OVER 16 HOURS A DAY??????????

ooops, i stand corrected!!!
Posted by: donjpaper | September 14, 2008 at 05:52 PM
NYScott even a young team can improve each week in order to build each week, were not being disloyal just sick of passionless morons running our team. if you think that we are getting great efforts by our team and coaches so far than you obviously have no clue as to how this game is supposed to be played.
Posted by: Pete in otown | September 14, 2008 at 05:52 PM
Hey Marc you little piss ant why dont you stop changing your name in every post? Kill myself? I'm not the one who places all of his hopes and dreams on my football team. I don't need to hang myself I have a GREAT life and the Dolphins will improve and be a contender in a few years just like Parcells and company said.
