Dolphins beat SF 14-9 in another heart-stopper

The final minute was not good for the palpitations but the Dolphins did it again today at Dolphins Stadium. They beat the San Francisco 49ers 14-9.

The Dolphins continue to keep pace in this wild and wacky playoff race. Wow.

Chad Pennington completed 12 of 19 passes for 156 yards with two touchdowns to lead the offense. But it was the defense that led this charge.

Miami's D has not allowed a TD in 12 quarters. That's three consecutive games without giving up a TD.

And, fittingly, the game ended with a defensive exclamation point as Joey Porter sacked SF quarterback Shaun Hill to seal the victory.

Good stuff, folks! Exciting stuff!

Your thoughts ....

Thanks.

AS a DOLFAN I think we owe Joey Porter a "HELL YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"The wildcat produced a 16 yd. run"...............ok.......??
I'm talking about consistency.

To the simple minded children that say We Won, Be Happy, Quit Complaining, I say remember this game because you'll never see it again. You'll never again see a team with almost twice as many plays and time of possession and no turnovers, lose. Miami was very fortunate and they need to perform better, especially the defense. Yes, they did it when they needed to but they need to get off the field. The coaches need to find a way to stop plays that you know are coming like throws to Issac Bruce on 3rd down and they need to find ways to sustain drives. The call on 3rd down in field goal range was risky and became stupid. I blame rookie Sparano and he has given away points several times this season. So be happy but don't ignore the need to improve.

Chase-

STFU...Dolphins won and that's all that matters...what a tool.

"You'll never again see a team with almost twice as many plays and time of possession and no turnovers, lose."
Why not, this wasn't the first time it's happened.

Cuban Menace,

You being a Jets fans and having Farve at QB, has to SCARE the heck out of you knowing he can make that 1 CRITICAL INT vs the fins last game of the season.

Farve makes alot of great plays BUT he will gun sling several passes during a game, that makes you say WTF are you doing.

Thats going to be the differance in the Jets vs Fins game.

Fins as a team 10 turnovers. Farve by himself has 16 INTS.

Go FINSSS!!!!!

AJ, WHAT PACKAGE IS CONSISTENT? There were other packages that didnt even yield 16 yards. All i'm saying is, don't get caught up in the "wildcat".

These nail biters have got to stop. Pennington has to apologize to ginn for getting in his face. Pennington is not playing good enough to be doing that in the first place. If ginn starts to campaigns for henne, ginn may get his way, because the offense would certianly open up much more with henne. However, since the coaches do not see the logic in increased offense, which will put the game out of reach in the first half, then we will continue with the nail biters and continue to wear our defense out unnecessary. Just imagine if we had scored three times in the first half; then the game would have been over in the first half, because of our improved defense. The bottom line is, one of these nail biters is going to go against us and keep us out of the playoffs if we don't open up the offense in the first half; scoring as many points as possible in the first half. At this point we should let henne play at least one quarter and compare his success with that of pennington.

Marry X-Mas NY Jets. The bills gift raped you a victory today!!

LOSMAN IS A TOOL!!!!

Teddy Ginn had yet a another outstanding game... 2 catches for a whopping 8 yards and a nice drop... Scared to death of any contact!!! Nice job running the kick out of the endzone from 6 yards deep and running out of bounds at the 18 coupled with a hold to set us up at our own 9... Brilliant... He better toughen up or he will be looking for some place to play... Bess punt returns have some sizzle. Huge 27 yarder to set up score #2... Oh yeah.. He was undrafted and teddy boy was a #9 overall pick... Thanks Randy and Cam!!

Mondo,
SUGGESTION:
During the game you MUST take control of the blogs. TOO many non-football comments. That crap is fine during the week. The name calling and petty bickering and nonsense MUST be elimated during the game blog. First it would reduce amount of space the blog uses and secondly and most importantly, it would be much more enjoyable to read and follow the game. Come on and get control or we'll call you Armanda (in Spanish doesn't the "a" denote the feminine)

Obviously none of the people commenting on the second half offense knows anything about game management? Why would our offense call explosive plays when we already have a 14 - 3 lead ? It would just be more of an opportunity for our offense to commit a turnover. The reason we have such a low give-away stat is because of the very same conservative play calling that was used in the second half of this game.

Bond.. are you Fing serious?! Pennington has been one of the best things to happen to this franchise in years!!!! Does not turn the ball over or panice and has us at 9-5 after a 1-15 season... You have got to be kidding?! Ginn blows so who gives a s**t what he says... UFB that post!!!!!!

Bond: although Ginn hasn't been playing as a #9 overall draft pick should be, he, in my eyes, is a blessing in disguise. If we did not pick up Ginn in that draft then we would have picked up Brady Quinn and never would have picked up our key component to this amazing 9-5 season (Chad Pennington)

Correction : the response i gave about Ginn was directed towards paul not Bond. my apologizes.

Bond,

You are a perfect example of a dope!!! Dam are you DUMB!!!! Where you get your football IQ from?? (Matt Mullen).

WHAT A FREAKING JOKE!!!!

TONY SPARANO IMPERSONATER---
thats what ive been saying the whole time... That it doesnt matter how dolphins won, but THAT THEY WON... Read my posts if you wish. I just didnt like the call on 3rd down.. IM PRETTY SURE NOT ONE SINGLE DOLPHIN FAN LIKED THE CALL.... but i made sure to put great game and great coaching on the end of my post, because i thought the rest of the game was well coached.... Read my comments b4 ya judge me. think logically
thats my five cents

Yes Finfan, Being A Jets Fan Is Tough, And Now With Father Time At The Qb Helm Dosnt Help. But Again I Hope Your Fins Win Next Week And The Jets, jets.jets Win Also Setting Up The Game Of The Year.

It will be the game of the year! We're not eating the cheese!

Hey paul, if you look back on the games that we have won, most of the touchdowns came by the actions of ronnie brown and ricky williams. If you take away the touchdowns from the wildcat formation and the wins, our record would be 5/9 instead of 9/5. Remember, during preseason, henne scored 90% of the touchdowns and wins we had. Pennington is doing a pretty good job not turning the ball over, but I know for a certianty, that henne would put every game out of reach from hence forth in the first half; never chew out your greatest player and expect him to perform the same way; there is such a thing as respect. Without ginn's production, we are not even able to score three touchdowns. I can discern the tention between ginn and pennington. It needs to be cleared up, or kansas city is going to defeat miami.

2 TO GO!!!!!!!! not pretty but a W is a W..Damn Bills gave the game to the friggen Jets. Lets knock out KC, although from the last two games I worry most about the Chiefs, arrowhead is a tough place to win... GO PHINS!!

Bond, you raggen on Pennington? and given the title "our best play maker" to Ginn? I realy have to question your eye for the game. I dont want get into a bunch of negative stuff after a win, but you might want to recheck your thinking on that statement..

Ted Ginn will be a KR only next year. He's not a top flight reciever and the dolphins will go get one next year. Devone Bess needs a quality reciever on the other side in order for him to shine.

the jets suck.
looked like buffalo wanted to lose it in the end. if you winning by 3 with 2 minutes left and running through the jets like paper dolls why would you even attempt a pass?

lets see. jets lost to the 9ers last week while we beat them. jets squeeked by the bills while we only gave them 3 points last week. i'm more worried about kc than i am about the jets.

anyone whos hating on pennington is a fagggg

Ginns Stats This Game 2 Catchs 6 Yds 1 Drop/ Last Game 1 Catch 18 Yards 3 Drops 1 Drive Kill. Pen ,-15 , 1 Run -6yds..

hey guy it looks like joey porter will have a shot at the sack record against the man that they set it on a couple of years ago. And new best friend of all dolphins fans BRETT FARVE. Do the right thing buddy and fall down every time joey comes around.

There is one thought i have from this team this year.

When playing to bad teams they play bad and win.

When playing to good teams they play better and win.

What do i mean with this?

If in the playoffs we can expect great things, there is alot of hart in this team.

As said before, after the schedule we have for next year lets play and win as much as we can, next year will be another story.

Ted Ginn Sucks.

Hey phinfan, I am not sifting pennington. He is doing a pretty good job and I am glad that we have him aboard, but when our best receiver is being overlooked and the offense is at a predestian pace, it does not take a rocket scientist to pinpoint the problem. I know what I am saying may sound like I am out in left field, but I am batting a 1000 in my inspections. I see the things that are not readily obvious to the average eye. If our defense does not step up, how many games would we win? It would be so much better if the offense could put the game out of reach in the first half! I guess the bills took it personal, getting swept by miami, because the bills gave that game away to the jets. I guess they talked before the game and said that they were going to keep the title in the new york family. SORE LOOSERS!

Andys Right.

Ted Ginns Got A Vaginaa.

Referring to a coment from Marc - I understand about the schedule next year. But teams that r good this year may be poor next year. I am sure the schedule will balance itself out.

HAHAHAHAHA. I shouldnt laugh but he's struggling a little. We're gonnasupport him anyway because he wears the aqua and orange! I told you guys last week that this guy needs this off-season with the new coaching staff to get things going. They can help him.

Marc and Macca,

I think we'll be good next year as well. I think we'll be stronger after our free agent signing as well as our draft.

In NC we have the Cardiac Cats, I have now dubbed the Fins the Defibrillator Dolphins! :-)

JETS SUCK SUCK SUCK!

FARVE OLD GREY BALLS

GO FINS!! CHAD WILL BRING IT HOME IN THE MEADOWLANDS, WORD!

CHAD>BRETT
FINS YOUNG> JETS OLD

Bond. You must be of The World is Not Enough, material if you dont rate Pennington over Henne, because of thier per-season play. Pennington walked in of the street to take control of the offense, 2 months behind Henne with the play-book. To say that Ginn would be playing better with Henne is absurd. Ginn would have half of his catches with rookie QB throwing to him. Henne will get his chance in another two seasons. Ginn is playing his last in Miami, almost a guarantee.

Looks like the Steelers are beating the Ravens 13-9. THat may help us, you never know. If Pats and Colts lose their last two games and we win one more we go through as Wild card at least.

The Defibrillator Dolphins! I like it Zax! Go dolphins!

Way too many whining "so called fans" here. 9-5. That's it- 9-5. Stop your whining as to what "you" want to see...9-5. Get it dummies?

I think we just savor this and not get too excited about the playoffs. Not a man (or woman) amongst you would have been unhappy with 9-5 after Week 14. Yes, the team still has issues and Ted Ginn is still, apparently, unreliable.

If the Fins win ONE of their two remaining games they set the NFL all-time turnaround record which they are currently tied with.

Joey Porter is within reasonable reach of the all-time Find single-season sack record.

Pennington broke the Fins all-time record for sequential completed passes today.

There is an awful lot to be happy about. Even if the Fins whiff the next two games this will be one of the most memorable seasons I can recall.

The Dolphins have earned my approval and they have it.

The SF fans need to take their back-door breath and waxed a ssholes back to the golden-shower state.
And stay there.

one down, two to go

GO FINNS!!!!

Just Watching 60 Minutes, Did Yot Guys Know This Guy Is Gay? That Explains Why The Country Is In The Dumpsters.

Watching 60 Minutes, I Didnt Know Barney Frank Was Gay.

Has anyone watched the 49ers postgame interviews. Shaun Hill said the crowd noise made the difference. He called TWO wrong plays in the huddle because he couldnt hear! I wonder if he heard me screaming from Atlanta....lol! Go DOLPHINS!

This is just what if...

If the Dolphins lose next week, Jets win, New England loses, will we still have a chance to win the division if we win the last game?

Terrible game by Fins. If they keep this up, they'll have a sad end to a wonderful season. One of the biggest blunders occurred near the end of the game when Miami tried an end run on third and four. Surely the team has a short safe pass for situations like this. Giving up the ball at that point almost cost them the game. Well, another bullet dodged and another week to look foward to. Mollyfins

Pennington misses camarillo. Why does our offense continue to score early and then shutdown? We need a RB with great quickness and speed and that is not on our current roster. I think we our one stud WR(Andre Johnson, Steve Smith) and shutdown corner away from true success. I do love the fact that we play smart ball with very few turnovers and penalties. I hate to call another man out, but Ginn just does not seem to have IT. It has been a great year.

Did You guys know iam also gay...

That´s the biggest excuse, man. They just couldn´t score against our awesome defense.

some of the idiots that work for this paper need to give BP his due credit. Clowns like Dan "The Tard" Lebastard and Greg "Fat" Cotex got all over BP when he ran off that idiot Cam Camoron and that worthless fool Randy Mueller. I remember Lebastard going on PTI and crying about how Parcells was washed up. No wonder he got himself fired from the herald and cotex has been delegated to writting about the south beach gay scene.

hey mando we got some crying fools up in here, that fool chase is the main one. why can't people just be happy that we won today???
