Joey Galloway is playing for New England and neither Antonio Bryant nor Michael Clayton, Tampa Bay's starting wide receivers, are playing for the Buccaneers tonight.
So the Dolphins rookie cornerbacks may have to wait until the regular season for their first serious NFL test.
(Yes, I know New Orleans is a great passing team and Miami finishes the preseason there next week. But let's face it, the Saints aren't going to let their starters play too long in the final preseason game.)
So this is bad news. But it is also good news.
At minimum, both Sean Smith and Vontae Davis are getting broken in sloooowly. Remember that last week the Panthers kept both Steve Smith and Muhsin Muhammad -- their starters -- on the bench.
Anyway, the live blog starts in the comments section below. Let's get to it.

Hey Tampa, fins suck yet your Bucs can't get more than FG's? Watch out! A Leftwhich pass almost hit u in the head there, yes, he's been that innacurate.

Ok now it's time for them to wake up and play ball!!!!!!!! Let's go!!!!!!!
Posted by: phinsfan6453 | August 27, 2009 at 08:41 PM
the field is in perfect condition. There is no excuse. And remember:
These are the second-string receivers for Tampa. And Leftwich has been awful in camp. It is not a good look. I can see the butt-chewing by coaches on the far sideline from here.

How long until Parcells takes the reins? The Squad tried to warn you.....
Posted by: NJ Truth Squad | August 27, 2009 at 08:41 PM
Hopefully we have an adjustment on offense.

Posted by: philm | August 27, 2009 at 08:41 PM
MIAMI- TED GINN RETURNS THE KICK FOR A TD BUT THERE IS A PHANTOM HOLDING CALL AND ITS CALLED BACK-BET ON IT. lol
Posted by: Ronnie Brown MVP | August 27, 2009 at 08:41 PM
Never been a fan of Will Allen, or any other CB we've had since we GAVE AWAY Madison and Surtain. I sure as hell hope that one of these young guys can cover. At least Davis tackles better than our FS, lol
Posted by: Marc | August 27, 2009 at 08:42 PM
Listen a lot of football left to play in the next two corners. Let's see if they can settle down. Bring some consistant pressure, but more importantly come out and punch them in the mouth on the ground on this drive and everything changes.
Posted by: Robfins | August 27, 2009 at 08:42 PM
where is the QB pressure? lets see another penny long pass...at least ginn isnt looking like a bitch and running out of bounds
Posted by: ck | August 27, 2009 at 08:42 PM
Great block by Cobbs on the kickoff. Ginn ran into him instead of cutting inside of him. That was bad. It's like he was wanting to head for the sideline instead of cutting up the middle of the field.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 27, 2009 at 08:42 PM
Finn needs glasses
Posted by: Finfan23 | August 27, 2009 at 08:42 PM
Ginn looked pretty slow there...Waiting for blockers?
Posted by: Marc | August 27, 2009 at 08:42 PM
Hurry Ted get out of bounds!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Dbromo | August 27, 2009 at 08:43 PM
Ginn waiting to get tackled; no shiftiness on returns
Posted by: NJ Truth Squad | August 27, 2009 at 08:43 PM
time for a lil' wildcat, just to keep them honest.
Posted by: Ronnie Brown MVP | August 27, 2009 at 08:43 PM
Wow- Ginn couldn't wait to get out of bounds, he wanted to avoid the hit so badly he ran into his blocker.
Posted by: SAK | August 27, 2009 at 08:43 PM
looks like Phins don't want to be here. Remember we play them in regular season. Not much effort out there. Ginn thought about running out of bounds...what gives Mando?
Posted by: orangeman | August 27, 2009 at 08:43 PM
Audio fast in NC too. Usually radio is seven sec behind so I'm enjoying turning down tv
Posted by: Finfan23 | August 27, 2009 at 08:44 PM
What is wrong with Ginn's returns? Back off...they have been fine.
Posted by: Hayden Fox | August 27, 2009 at 08:44 PM
Precisely right, Mando.....he was hopeing the play would end instead of cutting it up.
Posted by: Super Scout | August 27, 2009 at 08:44 PM
Armando,
Thanks for sorting that out.
You know, the same thing happened when Jacksonville had it's first team offense and second string receivers last week. We had our second team CB's, because of the flu.
Posted by: Gary in NC | August 27, 2009 at 08:44 PM
Patients mi amigos!!! Its early Lefty will throw a couple to our side. Watch
Posted by: Common Sense Phin | August 27, 2009 at 08:44 PM
The way that Cobbs reacted after the play it seemed like he thought it was his fault
Posted by: Robfins | August 27, 2009 at 08:45 PM
No No wildcat yet...let's see this g-damn team do something.

I guess my expectations and their expections are two vastly different expectations.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 27, 2009 at 08:48 PM
this is what they get for ignoring the receiver position and thinking that Larry, Curly and Moe running routes would get the job done.
