The Dolphins and Colts played a scoreless third quarter.
But the Dolphins dominated anyway.
The Fins are in the redzone and looking to take a lead. The score is currently tied 13-13, but that might not last very long.

I'm back...and all I can say is Baltimore Ravens #1!!!
Posted by: Mr Baltimore | September 21, 2009 at 11:47 PM
Why does Ginn always look to go down or look for the sideline, ridiculous! Safety play was horrible also, Gibril doesn't have a clue.

Posted by: Drbullis | September 21, 2009 at 11:48 PM
I didn't watch much of the game, but did they use the wildcat at all 2nd half? Seemed to work when they went to it.
Posted by: usnavydolfaninva | September 21, 2009 at 11:48 PM
Channing - where were you? South Beach?
Teddy Ginn - both hands on the ball and you don't catch it?
2 runs for 5 yards with under three minutes left?
Wasting a timeout with 5 minutes left?
Gibril Wilson - spaghetti arms.
Man. Offense played so well all game - so much fun to watch... until the last three minutes.
Secondary and middle LBs were pathetic.
Needs:
1. Dominating middle linebacker. Zach is still available isn't he?
2. An explosive WR and or QB. We don't have one, apparently.
3. A good safety (where's Louis Oliver these days?)
4. A 2-minute offense
5. A no-huddle offense to be used intermittently in game
6. A time management school for Coach
I could think of more but my head hurts too much.
I hate that ESPN is calling our loss ridiculous. Because it's true.
I hate Rex Ryan too.

I think the U has better receivers than the Phins, how sad...
Posted by: el coach | September 21, 2009 at 11:48 PM
Manning needed less than two minutes. Chad pennington had over three with two timeouts and couldn't get it
Done with his noodle arm. Enough said

Its on the D
Posted by: Po White Trash | September 21, 2009 at 11:48 PM
I don't think I'm way off in saying that Ted Ginn should be trade bait. We do not have a go to receiver. We have to accept the fact that he's never going to be what we need him to be. Get rid of the guy. He drops as many passes as he catches.
Oh, and by the way, thanks defense. You did a great job tonight, NOT!
Oh, and another thing, the worst thing that this team could of done is go 11-5 last year. This team needs way too many players to be acting like they belong at the top. They're not even close.
Now, do you really want to get happy. Let's think about the future of this team. Forget the cute 11-5 season last year and think about what this team will be in 2 or 3 years. What exactly are we? Are we a passing team...no, not really. Are we a running team....wildcat helps but not really. So what are we? OH, we're a team that expects to win a superbowl running the same play over and over again.
Hate to say this phin fans but this team is a looooooong way from winning a superbowl.
I'm starting to believe that we're becoming the Cubs of football. It's probably going to be another 100 years before this freakin' team wins a championship.

Baltimore Ravens soon to be Super Bowl Champs!
Posted by: Mr Baltimore | September 21, 2009 at 11:49 PM
well I have seen it all now. Iam ready to divorce the Ginn Family experiment. Between pennington and these pitiful receivers it is time to start Henne. In F-in-comprehensible to have the ball that long, rush for that many yards and lose. No playermakers, no playmakers, no pla,makers...etc, etc, etc
Posted by: jim | September 21, 2009 at 11:49 PM
Gibril Wilson is the best safety they could pick up in hte off season? He can't tackle an he can't cover!!!!!!!
Posted by: El Shadow | September 21, 2009 at 11:49 PM
The only way to put this lose is the defense played their worse game in dolphin history
Posted by: Eddy007 | September 21, 2009 at 11:49 PM
The MNF TV crew is horrible. How could they not point out how stupid it was for the fish to go for 1st downs on that final drive when they were running out of time and needed a touchdown. Who cares about 2nd and 1!!! You need to get to the END ZONE and you have less than a minute! Also, how could they not criticize the Dolphins on the previous drive for running on 3rd and 6 when they were driving with 4 minutes left. Running on 3rd and 6?!!! With 4 minutes left and Peyton Manning waiting on the other side! And earlier they kept pointing out how dominant the Dolphins were, meanwhile the game was TIED. TIED!! Gruden is terrible! No insight whatsoever.

Posted by: Standley23 | September 21, 2009 at 11:49 PM
now that im a little more calm... it's true.. the defense stunk.Miami's offense did score and control the clock (ginn still didn't make the elite plays a #1 receiver would have). All the defense had to do was force some 3 and outs...instead they let them score on either 1 play,5 plays, or no plays.. yuk

amen. ZACH ZACH ZACH ZACH!

I agree the D let us down big time and clock man was horrible, and playing for FG's is a joke. Hope someone wakes up because philip rivers is warming his arm up already.

I am sick of hearing about peyton manning
Posted by: dj rob | September 21, 2009 at 11:51 PM
WHY ARE WE MAD AT THE OFFENSE?
THE DEFENSE BLEW! PLAIN AND SIMPLE WE BLITZED 8 AND MANNING JUST CHECKED OFF, WE HAD A F'N LINEBACKER ON DALLAS CLARK, THE COACHES TUCKED THEIR TAIL BETWEEN THEIR LEGS AND RAN ON 3RD DOWN FOR A FIELD GOAL. THE OFFENSE PLAYED THEIR HEART OUT, DEFENSE AND COACHING SUCKED.
Posted by: RONNIEBROWN MVP | September 21, 2009 at 11:51 PM
Sorry Lolphins fans maybe next year.
Posted by: Mr Baltimore | September 21, 2009 at 11:51 PM
Don't put that on the deffense. Chad sucks and and the offense coordinator sucks. They can't make a big play.
Posted by: Jack | September 21, 2009 at 11:52 PM
I know Peyton's great and everything, but that last TD was poor pursuit and tackling... seemed like they gave up the last 10 yards or so.
Posted by: usnavydolfaninva | September 21, 2009 at 11:52 PM
san diego, bills and jets, next. 0-5 a real possibility. team's gotta dig deep to pull out a win in a short week trip to Chargerland. Ugh.
Posted by: james martinez | September 21, 2009 at 11:52 PM
Start Henne NOW!!!! Defense sucked horse nads tonight! Middle of the secondary is HORRIBLE. Ginn should have caught that ball......elite receivers make that play. But the defense deserves to be blamed for this one.
Posted by: Randy S. | September 21, 2009 at 11:52 PM
unlike most of u all, i played semi pro and as much as i luv my phins i would break my mother pppppphhhhhuckiiinnnnn neck 2 play 1 god daaamn snap for these fuccccccckiiiiiiiin losers i hate this sssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiittttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ffffffffffffffff uuuuuuuuu ccccccccccc k
Posted by: Larry C | September 21, 2009 at 11:53 PM
Pennington is not the problem. He is a good QB and the delay at the end may have been the calls coming in to late. Ginn does suck but he is asked to be something he is not a #1 receiver. Crowder is a big disappointment. Zach would still be better at least getting the D into position. The biggest problem tonite was that Manning was not under pressure.

Posted by: Mr Baltimore | September 21, 2009 at 11:54 PM
Peyton just yawned in his press conference, his jersey didn't even have a grass stain, this is why nobody takes us serious, we r just a cute little story, like a team from nowhere that makes march madness and gets destroyed in the first rd.
Posted by: RONNIEBROWN MVP | September 21, 2009 at 11:54 PM
We drafted Ginn high in the first round- are you kidding me? We ran 85 plays and lost-are you kidding me? We held the ball for over 45 minutes!!!! And we lost. We need to start grooming Henne now. And this Pat White bull. Convert him to WR or put him on the practice squad, but stop wasting 2-3 plays per game with this guy. This was as bad a loss as I can remember and I've been a fan for 30 years.
Posted by: grfdolphin | September 21, 2009 at 11:55 PM
I finally got to see a game here in Pa.
Well the OLINE PLAYED GREAT....
THE QB....MANAGES THE GAME TO NOT TURN IT OVER AND DID THAT.
Ginn as much as alot want him gone is a good number 2 or 3 WR.
Lets face it we don't have a true number one and we as fans can't due one blessed thing about it.
We also need a number one TE.
But tonight BLAME THE DEFENSE...
THEY SUCKED...
NO TACKLING...NO TACKLING....NO PRESURE...
POOR DEFENSIVE PLAY CALLING...
OPENING DRIVE FOR COLTS QUICK 7 AND 3 POINTS AND END OF THE HALF EQUALS 10 AND GAME.
AND THERE LAST DRIVE QUICK SLAT AND 7 POINTS..
OLINE AND RB'S YOU DID WELL
Ginn you did ok but you are not a number one wr in this league.
defense YOU SUCKED.......IN FACT DON'T EVEN SHOWER BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T EVEN SWEAT LET THE OLINE HAVE THE SHOWERS FIRST.
Posted by: Dave R | September 21, 2009 at 11:55 PM
Don't forget these points:
5. Poor clock management
4. 3 and 6 run play and settling for a field goal
3. Ginn drops
2. The defense needs ONE stop at the end...nope.
1. NO TURNOVERS CREATED IN 2 STRAIGHT GAMES
Posted by: Hayden Fox | September 21, 2009 at 11:55 PM
It's true manning was not great, we just could not tackle, so we made manning look great, I would really love to hear what the defense had to say, the offense did what they had to do
Posted by: Eddy007 | September 21, 2009 at 11:55 PM
Jack,
The dolphins did what they set out to do to a point... they held the ball 75% of the time. Unfortunately, 25% is still too much time for Peyton.. We're seeing 2 different QBs and how they respond in the clutch.
Posted by: usnavydolfaninva | September 21, 2009 at 11:55 PM
They need to bench Chad and let younger quarterback play. I am not saying the other quarterback is going to win, but at least he will develop. We really need a different quarterback. I can't believe at the end of the game they were trying to throw the ball. They are pathetic.
Posted by: Jack | September 21, 2009 at 11:56 PM
Nice playcalling.. A screen to Fasano with Bess blocking?! Are you FING kidding me?! How about getting the ball to Bess who has a few more moves than Fasano!!! Let's huddle up... Let's run on third and short so we can kick another FING field goal!!! And I don't want to hear ANYBODY tell me Ginn can play... He is a piece of garbage!!!!!! Scared of his own shadow and he can't catch a cold... Ducks, short arms, finds the OB line... That was a FING disgrace at the end of that game... 80 yards in 32 seconds??!! Are you kidding me??!! Pathetic clock management... Just an awful display... I have never seen a tean that is so content to sttle for FG's against QB's like Manning and Brady who score TD's!!!
Posted by: Paul | September 21, 2009 at 11:56 PM
Hayden. great point. No turnovers forced in 2 games
Posted by: NJ PHIN FAN | September 21, 2009 at 11:56 PM
I'm with RONNIEBROWN, the offense executed (aside of a few butter finger receivers) the defense should have blitz less and covered more, also tackle better.
Posted by: DFJ305 | September 21, 2009 at 11:56 PM
Mr. Baltimore,
better watch it... your owner may decide to move your team somewhere else...
Posted by: usnavydolfaninva | September 21, 2009 at 11:57 PM
This is the kind of result that will keep me up all night. Disgusting
Defense should be embarrassed
Coaches should be embarassed for settling for field goals when you're facing Peyton manning and your o line is rocking the Colt defense
Pennington for the second consecutive week looked like he was a qb that didn't know how to run the hurry up. This is supposed to be the great cerebral qb? he wasted about 1 minute that they could have used at the end of that game.
Teddy played alright but he should have come up with one of those two end zone plays during the game.
This fawkin hurts
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | September 21, 2009 at 11:57 PM
Everyone is talking about Peyton Manning. What did the guy do? The Dolphins gave the game.
Posted by: Jack | September 21, 2009 at 11:58 PM
That guy, you now have lost all credibility blaming ginn for this lose instead of the defense. you to eric. like i said get a clue. LOL !
Posted by: NJ PHIN FAN
I didn't blame the loss on Ginn---I merely pointed out the ridiculousness of your claim that defender knocked the bsll oit of his hands. Great players make that catch, end of story.
First half: I blame lack of aggression & poor play calling on offense (going for 3, etc.).missed opptys by offense in first half, three man rush on indy's last drive at end of 1st half, resulting in fg, poor coverage & tackling by crowder & wilson, etc.
second half: mainly on the defense, but also on offense for going for 3 & playing it wannstedt style & hopelessly incompetent 2 minute drill.
season-wise--defense----mistake spending big $$$ on Crowder & Wilson....should have pursued Bart Scott & Jim Leonhardt or someone else....keeping Crowder in-house & rich was a mistake based on misplaced hope.
offense....the obvious...no play making receiver & the rest you know.

Ginn as trade bait is ridiculous, I don't think he's done enough to sucker anyone in to that.
Posted by: Sharon | September 21, 2009 at 11:58 PM
you must be kidding Ginn as trade bait? Who the heck exactly would go for the bait??
Posted by: finfan23 | September 21, 2009 at 11:59 PM
I agree, I like Pennington, but it's time for a young quarterback to play, just like every other team is doing and they are winning, even if we lose it's great for us to see if Henne is our man
Posted by: Eddy007 | September 21, 2009 at 11:59 PM
How about this plain and simple: clock management was a joke and this defense is porous. In the NFL you can't allow a TE to go for 283 yards.
Posted by: grfdolphin | September 21, 2009 at 11:59 PM
Defense what the heck happened? Why no Jason or Joey stepping it up on Monday night? I am totally shocked! I wouldn't have been shocked if we didn't score much on them but I am stupified that the defense did nothing
Posted by: finfan23 | September 22, 2009 at 12:00 AM
