The Chargers are doing a great job of keeping the Dolphins in this one.
The team had five red zone trips last week and that resulted in four field goal and one giving up the ball on downs.
They have two red zone trips this week and have made a field goal and missed a field goal. They also fumbled inside the 20 yard to set up the Dolphins for Miami's lone score on a Dan Carpenter field goal.
So we're tied at 3-3 and it was encouraging for Miami to see the San Diego fans boo the home team off the field at halftime.

Posted by: TommyMiami | September 27, 2009 at 06:35 PM
Why, why, why did the tight wad bastards not go get a real receiver in the off season.

we have, quite possibly, the worst secondary in the history of the league. They can throw over the middle vertically at will. totally pathetic.

Posted by: the 'penningtion still sucks' guys | September 27, 2009 at 06:38 PM
And slowly our season dissapears. Well, it will be interesting to see what Henne offers in the long run. That's pretty much the only reason to watch this season. So glad I did not get Suday Ticket, what a waste of money that would have been.
Posted by: Despacio | September 27, 2009 at 06:38 PM
All you idiots calling for the Henne era to begin. Give me a break! This guy is a big nothing. Sitting on the bench for 2 years and has learned nothing. The only chance the fins have in this game, which by the way is slim and none, is to keep Henne on the bench and let Brown just run the wildcat.
Get off the Henne crap....he is not the answer to qb for the fins. He can't even get a ball over the offensive linemens arms.
Get well quickly Chad Pennington.

economy sucks cant afford new cleats
Posted by: phil76 | September 27, 2009 at 06:43 PM
The cleat thing is an excuse it always has been look at tape of these guys giving up big plays through the years they always act like they lost there footing its a sorry excuse for getting burned by a superior player.. Tired of excuses from this team !!!! Pay for some players or lose games !!!
Posted by: philm | September 27, 2009 at 06:44 PM
Really? Screens down 10 with 6 minutes to go? An running?
Posted by: Despacio | September 27, 2009 at 06:44 PM
No championships with Pennington because he isn't dynamic and they weren't letting him throw enough anyway.
Playing games to win 9 to 3 is dumb. We are not the Ravens from a few years back... No one else is or will be. Need points!
We blew it when we passed on Brees in free agency back in 2006.
Posted by: David | September 27, 2009 at 06:44 PM
and the henne era begins
Posted by: phil76 | September 27, 2009 at 06:45 PM
0-3 here we come
Posted by: phil76 | September 27, 2009 at 06:46 PM
I said it here first, the "Trifecta" made terrible draft choices....Chad Henne???? He's garbage. You morons that where glad that CP got hurt here is your answer, and hes not our future.
Posted by: Eli2009 | September 27, 2009 at 06:46 PM
Put the kid in the shotgun !!! He has no time to throw and when that happens the int. for a touchdown happens !! 0-3 time for big time changes since the season is over !!!
Posted by: philm | September 27, 2009 at 06:46 PM
And watch there still gonna try to run the ball what a joke
Posted by: DMAN | September 27, 2009 at 06:47 PM
...the Henne era begins...and ends right now
Posted by: Kirk | September 27, 2009 at 06:48 PM
seriously, even watching this game on NFL gameday application I could tell the QBs are sucking it up... "SHORT" left, "SHORT" right SHORT SHORT SHORT.
Posted by: Lips | September 27, 2009 at 06:49 PM
What we will get from Henne:
1.Offsides
2.Incomplete passes
3.Interceptions
4.Giving up sacks
5.Another 1 win season
Posted by: Eli2009 | September 27, 2009 at 06:50 PM
WE SUCK....Henne sucks worse
Posted by: Eli2009 | September 27, 2009 at 06:52 PM
Well... Henne hasn't been given a chance to play... So, at least get him some receivers. To be sure he won't develop. A lot of young QBs look terrible for a couple of years after they begin to start games.
Very few Mark Sanchez or Dan Marino's in history. Most were like Aikman, Elway, or more likely Kerry Collins type.
Have no other choice. Too much money invested in a 2nd round pick.
But without receivers... nothing matters anymore.
Posted by: David | September 27, 2009 at 06:52 PM
who cares if carey injured he wasnt doin anything anyway
Posted by: DMAN | September 27, 2009 at 06:52 PM
Ya, way to score when it counts.
I hate how every weekend is ending with a tribute from Hootie and the Blowfish.
Posted by: Lips | September 27, 2009 at 06:59 PM
this is embarrasing even Detriot won today
Posted by: Eli2009 | September 27, 2009 at 07:02 PM
FORGET REBUILDING, FREACKING CLEAN HOUSE!!!! THERE IS NOOOOOO TALENT ON THIS TEAM
Posted by: Eli2009 | September 27, 2009 at 07:05 PM
Henne was piss poor, ok he hasn't played much but nor had Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco or Mark Sanchez, and they already look a class above. He looks petrified and like he'd never played football before. You can also ask why we drafted Pat White if Henne was going to be our saviour. As for his rocket arm, with that useless sack of Crap Ted Ginn Jn as a deep threat, there is absolutley no danger of that being a threat to other teams....Marvin Harrison is still free isn't he?
The secondary was awful, and at this rate you can bet Ronnie Brown will not be trying to hard to get a new contract with the Dolphins, as he will want to go to a winning side.
