The Dolphins season has taken a drastic detour in the third quarter of this game.
Chad Pennington injured his right shoulder and is out for the remainder of the game and possibly longer.
Chad Henne in for the remainder of the game and possibly longer.
And the defense gave up a TD that has the Dolphins trailing 10-3 to start the final stanza.
The live blog continues in the comments section below.

Hey I know let's score a late TD that means &)%# this is what happens when you play it safe for too long. Sometimes you gotta go all in and pray.

No rush, the game is over anyway. I hope they go 0-16.
Posted by: FB | September 27, 2009 at 06:51 PM
and to think we could have had both Brese and Ryan
Posted by: mike white | September 27, 2009 at 06:51 PM
radio says we need to pass to middle, long would be nice too. if we only throw it 5 yards there are 11 people just waiting for the ball
Posted by: finfan23 | September 27, 2009 at 06:51 PM
Ginn needs to be our 5th WR
Posted by: Eddy007 | September 27, 2009 at 06:51 PM
Let's just run the wildcat full time!!
Posted by: Brett144 | September 27, 2009 at 06:51 PM
Vernon Carey is down. Terrible. Nightmare.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | September 27, 2009 at 06:51 PM
At least we will know that Henne is not the future, and we will finally draft a QB in the first round.
Posted by: Earl | September 27, 2009 at 06:51 PM
vernon is done
Posted by: finfan23 | September 27, 2009 at 06:52 PM

He wasn't open...why throw that
Posted by: Krome24s | September 27, 2009 at 06:52 PM
Mando--we still down by 7? You've seen this team long enough to know what to expect...please, call it like we all see it...this team did not do nearly enough to address the huge needs at WR and that is the core of the issue on this offense. One free agent pick up would have solved--hell Terrel Owens could have solved the issue (though parcells hates him like poison and yes he would have been worth the headaches cuz he is a threat)...please, give this front office/coaching staff what they deserve

Posted by: Armando Salguero | September 27, 2009 at 06:52 PM

Posted by: rogperu | September 27, 2009 at 06:52 PM

Posted by: Krome24s | September 27, 2009 at 06:53 PM
Wow- this is worse than the 1-15 team.
So SAD!!!!
From top to bottom, this team sucks.
Bad play calling- now I know its not Penne, its the coaches- they just don't want to throw.
Qb- penne nor henne can throw-terrible
Ginn sucks!!! I gave him benefit but he SUCKS.
Defense is worse than a high school team.
Why all the dinks and dunks??? Twice in the 5 yr lane and we get nothing...just running? What?
Posted by: nitemare | September 27, 2009 at 06:53 PM
chad's career is over with his injury. I am an RN and saw him throw his shoulder out, he is finished
Posted by: finfan23 | September 27, 2009 at 06:53 PM
If Ted Ginn had Davone Bess's heart, he'd be a good player.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | September 27, 2009 at 06:53 PM
No kidding, if taht a hole saban takes bree's we don't have these problems.
Posted by: shaggy | September 27, 2009 at 06:53 PM
Pat white should be our qb if pennington can't play. They we can be a wildcat offense every play.
Posted by: Jaison | September 27, 2009 at 06:53 PM
Davone Bess is one of the few players who earns his game check game in and game out.
Posted by: Tikkanen | September 27, 2009 at 06:53 PM
did i mention i love bess and chad loves bess too
Posted by: finfan23 | September 27, 2009 at 06:53 PM

WHY DO WE WAIT!!!!!
Posted by: finfan23 | September 27, 2009 at 06:54 PM
Snake Oil - That's what Parcell's has been selling us for the past two years. Last year was just the result of an easy schedule playing all the cream-puffs in the league. This team has been waxed the last 4 games. Don't tell me about last week - Indiana should have killed them. How does Matt Ryan look now?
Posted by: WBoyd | September 27, 2009 at 06:54 PM
hope we can win a game
Posted by: rogperu | September 27, 2009 at 06:54 PM
he caught it though
Posted by: finfan23 | September 27, 2009 at 06:55 PM

Posted by: miateamsfan | September 27, 2009 at 06:55 PM
and with the first pick in the draft, the Miami Dolphins take...
Posted by: Earl | September 27, 2009 at 06:55 PM
Brown, Williams and Bess our best weapons. That should be a catch, think Ginn would have pulled that in?
Posted by: PhishFan | September 27, 2009 at 06:55 PM
Why is ness not in the starting line up?
Posted by: Robdmill | September 27, 2009 at 06:55 PM
Ohhhhh Bill you are soooooo wise. Look at the marvelous team you have put together.
Posted by: TorturedDolphan | September 27, 2009 at 06:55 PM
Beautiful!!! Pull it out Dolphins come on! Bess and Ronnie want to play
Posted by: finfan23 | September 27, 2009 at 06:55 PM
I blame the whole team againt this anemic san diego team...they are worse than us in the redzone (almost).
It seems after halftime the whole team gave up.
But honestly, one see a reporter ask about the play calling-it is so friggin lame
Posted by: nitemare | September 27, 2009 at 06:55 PM
HOPE you Pennington HATERS and Ginn LOVERS are enjoying tonight!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Germany speaking | September 27, 2009 at 06:55 PM
Ted Ginn would be in the practice squad in any other team. This guy is taking up a spot in the roster.
Posted by: AS | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
An 0-3 start and possibly no Pennington going forward. Wow this could be a long ugly year.
Posted by: RyanB |
It ALREADY is!!
BTW---HENNE has sucked in two preseasons. He is what he is, a lousy draft pick. Once you realize that, then the entire Draft Long, Not Ryan myth exlodes.....as does Tuna's rep.
The seeds of this failure were planted when we passed on a franchise QB (and Flacco too) and drafted a good, not great, LT.
DUMB DUMB DUMB.
Posted by: Ed Isontownship | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
WHO WOULD U GUYS PICK IN COLLEGE WITH THE FIRST PICK? SERIOUSLY. WHO ARE THE TOP 5 OFFENSIVE PROSPECTS OR IS THERE A BALLHAWKING SAFETY
Posted by: chuck | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
Bess, Ricky and Ronnie that's all we got on O folks
Posted by: Krome24s | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
Henne just needs play time, looking good on this drive
Posted by: Eddy007 | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
1-15 anyone?
Posted by: Javier P | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
That a boy Henne. Let him play out the year. Having Pennington play solves nothing
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
I think Ginn cares....c'mon guys.
Posted by: Hayden Fox | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
Who are you jetset09?
Posted by: Brett144 | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
This is crap football. Embarassment
Posted by: JohnC | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
Ronnie brown is a better receiver than any of our receivers
Posted by: Dbromo | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
RONNIE BROWN , only offensive player for dolphins
Posted by: DFJ305 | September 27, 2009 at 06:56 PM
Give Henne some weapons then the outcome will be different. You cant expect Henne to thrown Touchdown after Touchdown with this woeful WR corps.
