Dolphins jobbed on Sharper's TD, replay

If you haven't seen the photo in Sports Illustrated that should fry your frank, here it is:

Sharper3

The photo clearly shows that Saints safety Darren Sharper fumbled  before he crossed the goal line in the third quarter of the Saints' 46-34 victory over Miami.

The play was ruled a touchdown in the third quarter of the game, cutting Miami's advantage from 24-10 to 24-17. Dolphins coach Tony Sparano threw a challenge flag. And he lost the challenge and a time out.

What's the point?

The point is this photo proves Sharper did not score. It further means the Dolphins should have gotten the ball at the 20 yard line after a touchback while still nursing a 24-10 lead.

Sparano was asked today if he saw the photo (by the way, if you want to see a bigger image, click on it).

"Yes," he said.

And his thoughts?

"No comment," the coach said after a pause, obviously not wanting to say anything that would incur a fine from the NFL.

You, however, are encouraged to comment.

I new it was a fumble all along. I'm surprised no one has really mentioned it before now as one of the major turning points. I was begining to think I was blind!

What the ****!?!?!?!?

that ref should be held accountable, plain and simple, these players and coaches have to watch every word, action, and expression they do on and off the field and then this ref has the power to change a game victory by his evaluation of a TD and clearly it was not that close of a call, something rots here and needs to be looked at and fined hard and suspended. Fair is fair, quit protecting your bad refs NFL or your going to be a sham.

I thought it was clear he had fumbled at the time the game was being played. The refs suck and they seem to be getting worse!

Yea I knew it was a fumble and the refs blew the call. proved to be a big momentum shift yet another game we should have won.

The Dolphins definitely had problems in the second half, but without these terrible calls NO would not have had enough points to win. And they would have had less time to score even more points they would have needed. You can't spin it any other way without asking the fans to simply turn their heads and ignore the corrupt officiating. Period. That ref was looking right at the play! It was REVIEWED. There is no EXCUSE.

WHY DIDN'T THE REF TO VIEW THE PLAY ?
WHY THE PEOPLE WATCHING THE GAME IN THE STANDS TOLD HIM TO PROTEST ASK THE REF FOR A REPLAY ?

IT DIDN'T LOOK AS A FUMBLE IN THIS PICTURE TO ME
-----------------------------------------------
SORRY,MAC ..........WHY THE COACH DIDN'T ASK THE REF FOR VIEWING THE REPLY ?I DON'T SEE ANY FUMBLEL IN THAT PICTURE .DO YOU MAC ?
-----------------------------------------------
TED GINN WILL RISE FROM THE ASHES AND TAKE HIS RIGHTFUL PLACE AS THE NUMBER 1 WR FOR THE DOLPHINS LOOK FOR HIM TO HAVE A BOUNCE BACK GAME< SCREW THE REFS AND THE NFL THEY WANT ANOTHER 16-0 TEAM BUT IT AINT HAPPENING < CHEATERS NEVER PROSPER LOL , THATS NOT THE ONLY CALL WE GOT SCREWED ON BUT HRY WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE
-----------------------------------------------
MAC IS RIGHT ABOUT THE BESS CALL .BESS DID COAST THAT GAME FOR US
-----------------------------------------------
I SEE THIS AND I JUST WANT TO PUKE. I AM REALLY SURPRISE THAT THIS WAS NOT BROUGHT EARLIER IN THE WEEK. THESE REFS SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE LEAGUE. EVEN PEE-WEE OFFICIALS CAN CONFIRM THAT SUCH BALL DID NOT CROSS THE GOAL-LINE. I JUST HATE TO BLAME THIS ON THE REFS BECAUSE ITS OBVIOUS THAT MIAMI BLEW IT IN THE FOURTH QUARTER BUT, HEY A 24-3 GAME ITS NOT THE SAME TO A 24-17 GAME. MOMENTUN ALREADY HAD SHIFTED AND WE GOT SCREW. ROGER SHOULD TAKE A LOOK AT THIS AND RETURN MY MONEY'S WORTH FROM THAT SUNDAY AT THE PARK.
-----------------------------------------------
WHO EVER THAT REF IS, SHOULD B BANNED FOR A GAME WITHOUT PAY. HE RIGHT THERE N SEE THE DAMN BALL OUT N STILL CALL TD N THEN CALL IT AFTER THE REPLAY FROM THE RED FLAG, HE SAW THIS SAME PIC UNDER THE HOOD N STILL CALL IT. SOMEBODY NEED TO B CHECKING THE REF'S FOR BETTING ON THE GAMES.

Please stop yelling at me.

I am a season ticket holder and every game this season bad calls have Brenda made be these so-called officials. They need to be made accountable like players an coaches when controversial statements or actions are made. Why do they suffer no repurcussions for screwing up their job? I know it will be said the new rules and guidelines make the ref's job harder and more judgement calls need to be made, that's crap.

People keep asking us to move on and let go. I'm not sure how much longer we should. We've been letting go of bad calls costing us games for too many years. Back when Feidler was with us, I can't count the number of games we lost due to bad calls. I'm not trying to take away from the fact that the Dolphin players have made mistakes. But even with those mistakes, we should be 4-1 without the bad (possibly corrupt) officiating going on. We shouldn't be having to beat the officials week in and week out. But it seems the Dolphins always have to.

There were a few BLOWN calls in that game..who knows if Miami would have won anyway but I am telling you plain as day that those calls were BS...and they for sure changed that game! I am a die-hard Miami fan...but in the same breath I am fair. If Miami still lost and the refs made the right calls then fine, so be it. But when these calls were totally BLOWN so blatently...that takes the fairness and fun out of the game and out of the NFL. I am sick of these refs getting away with this stuff. By the way...I am not just referring to this game... I have the DTv Sunday Ticket...I watch all of the games every week...and I see it over and over again...horrible refs making terrible calls that are so blantantly obvious. Anyone care to share my feelings on this crap? Isn't there a way to give incentives to these refs to stay on their toes...or at least be over-ruled when the call is so obvious.

What do we have to do to get your attention Commissioner Goodell? I am tired of dedicating so much of my time, MONEY, and energy at this unfairness.

Yeah. It's Sunday and I'm psyched for the game vs. the Jets. But I'm STILL peeved about the bad calls last week that changed the outcome of the game and the impact that would have on the division and the entire NFL. It's pretty clear now you can't accurately call a team elite just because they have a good record in the NFL. There's at least a 50% chance they have a good record because of the bad calls from the refs.

Listen why have instant reply if your not going to win it you can see clearly that sharper fumbled the ball I didn't get upset right away because I thought it was a touch back mia ball on the 20 another game we lost cause of a bad call by a ref

IT SUCKS!
