Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said Lex Hilliard would be replacing Patrick Cobbs. That is probably true, but he forgot to mention the guy taking Cobbs' vacancy on the active roster.
According to The San Jose Mercury News, the Dolphins signed running back Kory Sheets off the San Francisco practice squad on Tuesday. Sheets didn't sound all the excited about leaving his peeps in San Francisco.
"I've been with these guys all training camp, and we went through the grind together," Sheets said. "I've bonded with these guys. But this is just part of the business."
Sheets played for Purdue University. He is second on the Purdue career rush list with 3,341 yards. Mike Alstott is atop that list.
Sheets -- 5-11 and 208 pounds -- was not drafted out of Purdue.
He's got a three weeks to impress the Dolphins brass.
Note to Sheets: Find a way to show up on special teams.

Bobaloo you stole my thunder. I agree.

One more week before the collapse. Enjoy it while you can. 2-6 is right around the corner. Saints, Pats, Jets. Oh my. Discuss!

Realist you don't think we can beat new Orleans at home? I think we can. We can go 2-1 very easily the next three games. I also have to say I find it difficult that we are not going after Josh cribbs. He is the kind of weapon u get that changes where u get the ball practically every time he touches it. And he plays wr. If it's my only problem with the brain trust, is that they look at bog players but don't pull the trigger. If we don't pick up Josh cribbs I wouldn't be surprised if another afc east team did. We have a bye week brain trust!!! Brung someone in and they have Time to learn our system.

San Fran lost coffie and Gore is still hurt, why would the 49ers trade away their depth at RB? They are still playing for the NFC west title. Maybe Sheets is really not that good, makes me wonder.

Sheets is a great ad. He was a very good kick returner for Purdue and carried their offense last year. Sheets can catch the ball and has fantastic moves on the outside. A nice compliment to the power of Brown and Williams.

Realist...
Any given Sunday my friend...not everything can be predicted. We'll win games we should probably lose and lose games against teams we should beat (Houston!).
However, I'm not a foolish enough to believe that 2-6 is not a possibility, but I'd like to think that the Dolphins are much better than that.
