Pace backpedals before tonight's live blog

Calvin Pace hated on the Dolphins. Then the Dolphins, led by Channing Crowder, hated on Calvin Pace. And now Calvin Pace is backpedaling as if he's a Pro Bowl cornerback.

If you need to get caught up on what I'm talking about, simply scroll down to the post below this one. If you're up to date, you should know that today Pace kinda, sorta regretted he called out the Dolphins after they whupped Pace and his New York Jets teammates, 31-27 on Monday night.

Pace today was asked if he regretted calling Chad Henne a "second-year clown quarterback," and saying the Dolphins Wildcat package is "nonsense."

"That's how I feel," Pace said. "When you play defense, you would love to have someone just come out and run conventional stuff. It is a conventional offense just lined up a different way.

"I said some thing and I definitely should have thought about it and re-phrased it a little bit. I respect the Dolphins. They beat us. It's not like they went out there and stole the game from us. They were efficient. They ran the ball and they made plays when they had to.

"I tip my hat to them. But we've got another chance to play them and hopefully the outcome is going to be different."

I know this outcome won't change. And that's the beauty of tonight's live blog of the NFL Network's re-air of the Dolphins vs. Jets. I predict the Dolphins will win. I predict we'll have fun discussing the plays as they happen -- again.

I predict I'll have a couple of cold beverages as I watch and type, which could get kind of interesting if you know what I mean.

Again, the game is on NFL Network. And it, plus the live blog here, start at 8 p.m.

See ya at 8 p.m. Mando!

Awesome! Effen AWESOME!

I'll be there tonight for the live blog Mando.

Bring it losers!

I guess after looking at the tape he realize how lucky they were to even be in that game"fake punt, bad penalties". He's still an ass!

On trades?
When you look up and down the Dolphin roster you see youth. No reason to steer away from the master plan now. Don't trade your picks for the now. Something very special is taking place here in Miami. Just my 2 cents worth.

mando is getting slammmmered tonight

Me thinks Calvin Pace isn't too smart. Or maybe he is smart and he just doesn't express himself too well.

This statement is pretty funny(his head is clearly still spinning):

"When you play defense, you would love to have someone just come out and run conventional stuff. It is a conventional offense just lined up a different way."

nothing like driving on that vaunted defense 4 times with the first one right down their throats!!!

They got manhandled and I got a feelin its gonna be there even more in a couple weeks.

I don't get nfl network, but I will be here a least reading the posts etc.

Hey why can't we listen to WQAM games over the Internet? I use 2 different apps, same result. Help.

Good stuff Mando.

Lol. Guess Pace made adjustments after reviewing the tape. Too bad he couldn't adjust duirng the game Lmao. We don't accept ur non-apology and will explain it again in three weeks

I'm not sure, but Calvin Pace may be a child molestor.

Yes! Cold Beverages!

I can't wait to see game again! This was best game I ever seen in person! I can't wait to see Rex Ryan face when Dolphins run all over his defense

Rex, keep trading your picks. Your fighting for the now, and mortgaging the JETS future. You traded 9 picks and players for Sandcheese and Edwards. Keep it up loud mouth.

Jets got likked on Monday

Mando gets likked tonight!

I wonder when that obese pig Rex Ryan is gonna apologize??? He wpuld qualify for The Biggest Loser...Fat slob

It just shows you that the whole JETS organization from players to coaches to fans have no class!

Armando, I probably told you this before if not here it is again: I am such a crazy phin fan, that I am not able to watch a game live. I worry too much about fumbles, etc. etc.
I tape the game and go for a walk or watch a movie. After a win I can relax watching the tape and trully enjoy every play.

I also have a question: When there is an unfair penalty, do the Dolphins complain about it to the proper authorities, or they just let it go? After all a bad call can cost a game!

I wouldnt mind trading for Shawm Merriman? That would be worth it.

this the best game i saw dolphins wins w/pure power.the best thing about this game is that miami was down twice and HENNE was able to prove carlio is wright .HENNE the hero.

PS, i have the feeling RONNIE BROWN will be soon signed for software games.did you see how he cuts throuh players.

Henne the Hero!

Ronnie the Rabid Beast

Ricky the Rhino

Ginn the Given 2cnd chance

Grove the Grunter

wow some of you.....

Teri, I'm right there with you. The amount of anxiety I experience when I watch them is crazy. Pure lunacy. I find that shouting is a decent outlet.

Hey carlito, heard you were going to the game tonight. Mind if I catch a ride? Can you sneak me into the club section?

Don't matter what anyone says to the dolphins. The ball starts at the line of scrimmage and the phins dominate the line of scrimmage. These guys won't get a break all season with their schedule but as long as we stay the course were still the team to beat in the AFC East, where we are unbeaten this year.

Homeless guy,

There is no game tonight. But I give you a couple dollar to buy a quart of mickeys ice.

mando u r alright sometimes and other time you act like a outsider looking n maybe you r a true fan but the jurys still out p.s did you grow up liking the dolphins?

GOpats, DOW 10,000. Any thoughts?

Is there any chance we make a trade for a Wide Receiver before next weeks deadline?

PS: I know this question is early.

I will try to pop in on the live blog but have work to do, so count me though I will be in and out.

I like what Crowder said: Wildcat is a formation not a gimmick, that those two fake punts the Jets pulled they where gimmicks.
True that CC true that.

I need to mention the O-line and how they dominated the line of scrimage. Jake Long at times took on that behemoth cog of a nose tackle Kris Jenkins when Smiley pulls and he handled him and you could see them jawing at each other at times. Long is great in the run game and was the whole O-line. Keep your eye on this line man if we dont' have at least two pro bowlers this year I will be suprised (Long and Smiley)

Long is doing a better job on pass protection and is a road greader on the running plays. Smiley is a good pulling guard who lead the way for both of Ronnie Browns TD's. The game winning TD, Brown looked for Smiley and followed him into the end zone.
Smiley also threw a great block on a early first quarter blitz on the inside linebacker which lead Ricky Williams recieving a screen pass from Henne and took it for a huge gain. That set up a FG and gave us a early 10-7 lead.

Sorry typos

Ohh yeah keep your eye out for Rex Ryan and how many times he rolls his eyes and flaps his loose skin under his three chins. lol

I could watch this game 50 times.

Po white,
srs thank good i left 2 days ago even
iyr is a monster .
today i got in dto at 70 hpoing the gold and oil will take a dive very soon .

Okie dokie, I'm here waiting for the replay.

How is everyone tonight?

I am ready to watch a glorious victory over the evil Jets

I just ate something that isn't making me feel too good. I need pepto.

Are you guys now sold on Henne based on what you've seen?

Mando do you think we will make any trades before deadline? Or are we gonna just let it out, I would love to try and get cribbs from Cleveland or bowe from KC, I'm sure askin price for those 2 would be too high that's if they want to let them go

I wish I had a TV in my bathroom.

ESPN interviewed Sanchez today and amongst other things asked him to use the word 'cheese' in a sentence.

Sanchez replied "I don't wanna go out with Maria cuz cheese too ugly."

Henne the Hero!

That wildcat throw from Brown was a bullet

I don't know if you guys remember, but I wrote about the Dolphins throwing out of Wildcat before the S Diego game. One of the players told me it was supposed to happen that game.

The Fins have been throwing out of wildcat in practice for nearly a month now.

Armando, what's the chance that the Fins will trade for a Wide Receiver before next week's trade deadline?

i am sold on the guy , he played 2 game,he won 2 and didn't show any panic when his team was down twice in this game .looks very good .

the test will be on the road

Guys, I cannot handicap whether the Dolphins will tade before the deadline or not. I know they're talking to teams.

I do know Merriman WILL NOT be coming to Miami. Parcells doesn't like him, I'm told.

Thanks for giving the other teams a heads up on that.

I remember Armando. I just figured they tried but couldn't pull it off.

I've watched the highlights of this game 100 times over the last two days...it never gets old.

I respect Kris Jenkins. He played well. He also understood his team played like crap.

Based on his college resume I was sold.
Now in the NFL people get to see his 100mph fast ball-like the one he threw to Camarillo for the first down near the end of the game, wow!
But even more impressive was that touch pass on that same drive to get another first down, previously. He didnt have that in college, and that is the sign of a good QB.

beautiful drive and beautiful touchdown!

time for my meatball sub.

jets ..0

Do you have any more secrets to tell for the saints ? They'd like some inside info also.

It's not a secret, Ken Doll. Once you do it once -- and the Dolphins have -- it is on tape and the other team prepares for it.

I guess the Jets need to do better prep.

By the way, the pass play Miami ran was the EXACT same one as what they ran against NE the first time they used Wildcat.

The other Wildcat pass -- the one that didn't work in this game -- was supposed to be the wrinkle.

Henne is the Man!

Good answer GoPats. How you feeling about Moss not showing up yet this year?

I'm sold on Henne. I know I sound like an amateur Fin fan, but I can't remember the last time a Miami quarterback, besides Marino, played an almost perfect game- with the entire season on the line- made all the big plays when asked and carried the team to victory in front of a nation wide audience against a defense everyone said would destroy the Fins.

And did it all in only his second start.

Hey Calvin!

Steriods are a gimmick.
