EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Wipe that sweat from your brow because this one was a three-hour thrill ride.
The Dolphins, riding two, count 'em, two kickoff return touchdowns by Ted Ginn Jr., one fumble return TD by Jason Taylor, and some heart-stopping defense play by the defense on the final drive, beat the New York Jets today.
The Dolphins improve their record to 3-4 and 3-0 in the AFC East. The Jets are now 4-4.
The Dolphins are living dangerously as their offense had only one TD. The defense yielded scores on three of New York's final four drives.
The offense gained a grand total of 104 yards while the defense allowed 378. The Dolphins had the ball only 25:54 to New York's 34:06.
But those are just details that do not trump important things -- like the final score.
Amazingly, I just got back from the locker rooms and while the Dolphins were fairly humble about winning, Jets linebacker Bart Scott was a bit of a jerk after losing. Judge for yourself.
"They're a great team," Scott said of Miami. "They'll probably contend for the Super Bowl. They have a tremendous offense -- great running backs, a great quarterback, a great tight end. They are stacked across the board. I'm serious. They are great."
And later he continued.
"They have a tremendous offense and they showed it today. They are Super Bowl contenders and they will probably take it all the way."

Ginn redemption!!!!

So for all of you dopes who wanted to bench Ginn...trade him...whatever...we would have lost this game if your logic was followed. It's amazing how you can overlook what he has done and what he can do. You have to have some patience. Great Game Tedd will always support you!!!
Posted by: drsamii | November 01, 2009 at 04:15 PM
SORRY GUYS I PRAYED THE LAST 2 DEFENSIVE PLAYS AND WE FINALLY MADE A CRUCIAL STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: DyingBreed | November 01, 2009 at 04:15 PM
You guys will argue, but, Ginn is still the best thing we have at WR...Good to see him back on KR's as well.
Posted by: Marc | November 01, 2009 at 04:15 PM
The media needs to show some love this week for Ginn. He was the difference...

Dying Breed,
I agree.
Posted by: OrangeCounty | November 01, 2009 at 04:19 PM
With better coaching this team is 5-2, we won 2 of our 3 games in spite of terrible coaching. Sparano is an idiot and Ginns success today on returns only proves it! Let's get a REAL head coach in here and not a super Mario reject who doesn't have any clue as to how to use talent to your advantage.
Posted by: Ziggy | November 01, 2009 at 04:19 PM
Ginn has no place being a WR
He still sucks at that
Posted by: test | November 01, 2009 at 04:20 PM
Sad to waste the power of prayer on a sports game. Ridiculous.

W00t swept the stinking jets! 3-0 in the afc east facing the pats next week.. 100 times better than the jets. We have scored 30+ last 4 games, we could score 38 on NO we can score against the pats the question is can we stop them...-.-'
Posted by: BlazzinAce | November 01, 2009 at 04:22 PM
cp12, when you have a relationship where you can speak and enjoy football there is no waste, actually its kind of cool that DyingBreed and others can share with their God even during a football game.

cp12, He is not a Genie that only gives you a certain number of wishes......
Posted by: OrangeCounty | November 01, 2009 at 04:24 PM
You have to love trashy, drunk jets fans milling home in crappy traffic, wondering what if?
Your mole faced QB is a tool, Your Mark Mangino stunt double coach is a fraud.
The officials tried to help you today, but to no avail......Face it, You are losers.
P.S. Tell our former special teams coach to slurp our Nads.
Suck it Jets.
Posted by: shaggy | November 01, 2009 at 04:24 PM
Ginn won the game. I glad he's back to where he was drafted. I hope to see his confidence grow and we will start to see the guy that was dominant at OSU. I'm still scared of this team though. You never know what you have. Our O is rather bad since the Saints figured out the WC and the D is always a mystery from down to down. At least we got the W!
Posted by: Japman | November 01, 2009 at 04:24 PM
Enjoyed the game... there are some improvements we need to make on the secondary for the game against NE and their weather...
Posted by: Fernando | November 01, 2009 at 04:24 PM
Shaggy, LMAO!
Posted by: Po White Trash | November 01, 2009 at 04:25 PM
Cowher or Shanahan would be 5-2 right now, or better because THEY would have actually picked a wr. Folks we play the pats next week and it's gonna be ugly ugly ugly. This defense sux and we have nobody to spread the field offensively. Plus oh yeah Welker and Moss vs Smith and Davis, not good for us. Sparano and crew couldn't run the franchise mode on madden let alone a real team. Feels good to beat the Jets but we won in spite of alot of bad things, just like last time.
Posted by: Ziggy | November 01, 2009 at 04:26 PM
our defense can't be this bad in the 4Q against brady next week...
if we dont blitz brady next week...he is gonna rip us apart...
Posted by: test | November 01, 2009 at 04:27 PM
Forget NE for today... ENJOY THE SWEEP
that's right SWEEP of Ryan's pests..

Hey Mando, how did you rate Clemons's play?
Posted by: Sammy in Dubai | November 01, 2009 at 04:29 PM
I used to hate the pats more then the Jets. But not anymore. NO WAY! Jets are the cockiest team in the NFL with the cockiest coach in NFL history.
Posted by: Chase | November 01, 2009 at 04:30 PM
Folks, Ted Ginn IS a Miami Dolphin!!!
Posted by: FINZ4LIFE | November 01, 2009 at 04:30 PM
Congratulations all around for the combined effort on the win...except for Bess' fumble.
I'm not too thrilled with he way we let them march down the field on those scoring drives, but a win is a win. My favorite part of the game was hearing the Jets' fans BOOING their own team throughout the game. Well done chaps!
Posted by: Tony from Houston | November 01, 2009 at 04:31 PM
One more thing.
Ziggy your a f@!$ing idiot
Posted by: L_Csonka | November 01, 2009 at 04:31 PM
Yes, thank you Ted Ginn. I have been hard on you, probably more than anyone, but you stepped up today on ST. I think you found your niche, build on this.
Tony S, we need some receivers.
O line, you got owned today.
Paul P. Your need some new ingredients in your recipe, too close for comfort.
Posted by: shaggy | November 01, 2009 at 04:32 PM
Ginn still sucks as a WR
Posted by: test | November 01, 2009 at 04:32 PM
I hope all you doom and gloomers have learned a lesson....be like me and stay upbeat! I never had a doubt!!
Posted by: EmoFinFan | November 01, 2009 at 04:33 PM
Im thrilled we won. I have a big smile on my face. Still, we have no offense or defense -- at least consistent ones. Go fins. Line up for the next one.
Posted by: mntnmanfinfan | November 01, 2009 at 04:33 PM
Good victory for the dolphins , we must do better on offense & our DB's must turn their heads around when the WR's look bac for the ball.... I like the direction Dolphins are heading , Ted Ginn is a # 2 or 3 WR & punt & kickoff returner...
Posted by: Rez112 | November 01, 2009 at 04:33 PM
Ginn is a playmaker. He needs to get more touches. Kicks, Punts, Reverses, Screens, get the man the ball in open space and block...
Posted by: Sammy in Dubai | November 01, 2009 at 04:34 PM
Shaggy-----LOL

Atta a boy Teddy!
Posted by: mike | November 01, 2009 at 04:34 PM
Brady is gonna Pick us apart folks get ready! What good is enjoying a sweep or a win if we aren't improving as a team?? They have a ROOKIE qb folks who started 16 games post high school, not including the NFL. What has this regime done to improve offensively since last season? NOTHING!!!!! still no #1 wr still terrible gameplanning and only today have we seen Ginn return kicks regularly like he should have been doing last freaking year!!!!!!!! Sparano and Pasqualoni and Henning couldn't coach Michael Phelps to gold in the special olympics!
Posted by: Ziggy | November 01, 2009 at 04:34 PM
Ziggy you are an idiot, shut down physical were a higher priority, even right now, in their rookie season... Where would we be without them?
Posted by: Genothefox | November 01, 2009 at 04:35 PM
Paul Solai looked pretty good at times.
Posted by: Magic_Marc | November 01, 2009 at 04:35 PM
Power of Prayer. LMAO. I guess there were no Jets fans praying - good thing for us. How about we enjoy a great win and keep religion out of it!
Posted by: U see what U want to see | November 01, 2009 at 04:36 PM
How do we have no offense?????? Weve scored 30 plus points the last 3 f-ing games..... The last time we did that was over 20 years ago!! How can any of you justify saying that we have no offense. Its our D that cant give us any damn fiel position or hold a lead that we dont have 2 or 3 more wins!
Posted by: Chase | November 01, 2009 at 04:37 PM
I'm serious.. Someone please justify saying we don't have an offense.....
Posted by: Chase | November 01, 2009 at 04:38 PM
We've lost some games we should have won, so I am going to ignore the fact we were outgained 4 to 1 for now.
What the heck was the problem with Bess today? He is one of my favorite players and is always sure handed.
Posted by: tar | November 01, 2009 at 04:38 PM
TED GINN IS A KICK RETURNER. NOTHING ELSE.
BESS IS NOT A PUNT RETURNER. NEVER AGAIN.
Posted by: Phinswin? | November 01, 2009 at 04:39 PM
L-Csonka why am I an idiot because I speak the truth? Wake up and stop drinking the kook aid, this team any any better offensively this year, and we consistently botch gameplanning and time management weekly. The only exception being the Buffalo game. This is not a good Jets team and we barely won. Defense of the jets is decent but no Kris Jenkins and Ronnie had 27 yds rushing. Explain to me why Ginn wasn't returning kicks til last week and why Bess was still in on punts even though he sux at it? I'll tell you why, because Sparano isn't NFL ready!!
Posted by: Ziggy | November 01, 2009 at 04:39 PM
I hope all you doom and gloomers have learned a lesson....be like me and stay upbeat! I never had a doubt!!
Posted by: EmoFinFan | November 01, 2009 at 04:33 PM
No gloom and doom, more of a realist. We need work. This game shortened my life by another 10 years. We have pissed away three games, and almost 4. We can beat anyone, no doubt about that. However we let three top contenders off the hook.
So happy we swept the Green Scum though.
Posted by: shaggy | November 01, 2009 at 04:39 PM
Yea Ginn can't be a punt returner or a WR
he sucks at those 2.
Posted by: test | November 01, 2009 at 04:40 PM
ziggy jet fan shut the f up loser!
Posted by: jets sux | November 01, 2009 at 04:40 PM
J-E-T-S LOSERS LOSERS LOSERS!!!!
Posted by: Jason | November 01, 2009 at 04:40 PM
I wonder how Sean Smith scored out? Not impressed. At least Davis tackles like a safety. Reminds me of the DB on the Steelers that lit up Welker and some HB last year. What does it say for the coaches that in 2 years these were his first 2 KR's for TD's? Welker returned punts and kicks for us for 3 or 4 years straight and had ONE! I'm guessing he hasn't broken one for the Pats either. Showed Ryans ego kicking to Ginn again and again...That's all for now
Posted by: Marc | November 01, 2009 at 04:41 PM
Like I said during the 3rd qter, the D was on the field all quarter after Ginns run backs they were obviously tired. When they got their rest they played alot better when it counted. I saw a little improvement, but still need more pressure towards the end.
