JACKSONVILLE -- The Dolphins owned the first quarter. And the second quarter.
But Jacksonville seemed to find a sense of urgency when Chad Henne scored from 1 yard out on a QB keeper to give Miami a 14-0 lead.
The Jaguars answered with a six-minute drive that culminated with a Maurice Jones-Drew 1 yard run to make it 14-7.
Henne is having a great day so far. He has completed 14 of 16 passes for 146 yards.

we have turned into a throwing team

Dumb call on the Bess end around. He isn't going to run around or through anyone. Knew it was bad even before he fumbled. Come on Henning, that play kept Jax in it.

The Jets are kicking Tampa's butt.
Ravens winning, too.
Pats losing.

F-n Bess. Killer fumble. His fumble at the end of the 1st half against the Saints killed momentum and let NO get back in the game.
Yet another game that Miami dominates but allows the other team to hang around. Sound familiar? The D gives up another score following a Miami TD and Bess' fumble takes points off the board. Let's just hope we don't have another 2nd half collapse.

jones drew 7 rushes for 16 yards
henne 14/16 146 wow~ must be near perfect qb rating

"I seem to recall a lot of requests calling for Henning's head on a platter... I think he must have been listening because today I think he is doing a "phintastic" job!!!"

cheaters have tied carolina
Posted by: finfan23 | December 13, 2009 at 02:28 PM
I wonder what adjustments we'll make at half time...we need to quit doing whatever it is we're doing on offense and go with more trick plays using injured players...take the ball out of Henne's hands and dont let him throw...get real conservative and run on first and second down...punt alot...yep...that's the ticket.
Posted by: mntmanfinfan | December 13, 2009 at 02:29 PM
Play action and a little bootleg!
Posted by: Po White Trash | December 13, 2009 at 02:29 PM
BESS IS ANOTHER RECEIVER THAT WOULDN'T SEE THE FIELD AS A RETURNER OR RECEIVER ON A GOOD TEAM. CONSIDER HIM AS GOOD AS GONE AFTER THE SEASON. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!!
Posted by: PhinsWin? | December 13, 2009 at 02:29 PM
Henne on his way to another 300 yard game. We just might become a throwing team. Love to see a real mix going with run and pass. We always seem to abandon the run in the second and it doesnt even matter what the score is
Posted by: finfan23 | December 13, 2009 at 02:30 PM
End around with a fumble prone guy with great quickness but marginal outside speed and a hurt ankle...hmmmmmm?
I realize the are playing cover 2 all day but got too cute...once again...although Henning didn't fumble.

mntmanfinfan don't forget PAT WHITE in the mix!
Posted by: Po White Trash | December 13, 2009 at 02:30 PM
Adjustments for the d...dont bother with Garrard, he can't run...more penalties on third down...let the TE run free, defend him with the slowest player we have...just some thoughts...
Posted by: mntmanfinfan | December 13, 2009 at 02:31 PM
Come on, Bess is a good player and would make anyone's roster. he hust isn't a speed or power guy which you need to be on an end around. that is a coaching problem, not a player problem.
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | December 13, 2009 at 02:31 PM
FU henning for call a dumb play
a bigger FU to tony morono for not overruling that crap
Posted by: test | December 13, 2009 at 02:31 PM
Bess is a great possession receiver. He catches most of what is thrown to him and the best we have. Fumbling has to be worked on but he sure reminds me of welker. Welker fumbled too at a really bad time
Posted by: finfan23 | December 13, 2009 at 02:31 PM
The coach doesn't carry the ball. Bess did and he fumbled. AGAIN!!!
Posted by: PhinsWin? | December 13, 2009 at 02:32 PM
Jersey, I give praise when it's due, and I give criticism when due. I'd appreciate it if there was CONSISTANCY! Seems Polite is the only sure thing on a Sunday!

You guys need to quit giving our players crap when they may not be playing up mto par and asking for their benching or whatever bad words you all want to say about the player. I don't think you all were giving Bess crap last week were you guys?
Posted by: Indiana Dolfan | December 13, 2009 at 02:33 PM
Hey Po, Im a WV fan...so I want to see more of Pat...next year after they've added some weight and he has a full off season to get ready...he will eventually do great things IMHO...just not ready...so, yep, we should throw him in their now...
Posted by: mntmanfinfan | December 13, 2009 at 02:33 PM
Did Bess fumble last week?
Posted by: PhinsWin? | December 13, 2009 at 02:34 PM
Hire Weis before he goes back to the Patriots! How much more of Henning can be tolerated!
Posted by: PM | December 13, 2009 at 02:34 PM
don't blame hess
play tony morono for not overruling the play call
every game henning calls a couple drive killers and morono allows it to go through
why
Posted by: test | December 13, 2009 at 02:34 PM
See...POLITE!
Posted by: Marc | December 13, 2009 at 02:35 PM
Neither Henning nor Sparano made Bess put that football on the ground! C'mon, guys.
Posted by: PhinsWin? | December 13, 2009 at 02:35 PM
Mando,
Do we take the lead in the division if this and Pats score holds?
Posted by: Taylor | December 13, 2009 at 02:36 PM
Pat white should be cut after this season. No more White talk, he will never be an NFL QB and the wildcat will be almost gone by next season. White was a wasted pic. How many receivers were available when we took him?
Posted by: Dolfancraig | December 13, 2009 at 02:36 PM
No way in hell we need to get Weis. He may be fatter then Rex Ryan
Posted by: Indiana Dolfan | December 13, 2009 at 02:37 PM
Bess did fumble; but the nature of the end around results in tacklers coming in at an angle that gives the defensive player a better opportunity to cause a fumble...the real problem is why call it at all...no need...everything else is working...and if you are going to call it, which you shouldn't, that play call is for your really fast players...the speed of the NFL defenses is such that the play rarely gets much anymore...and it rarely fools anybody anymore. Just a bad coaching decision at that point.

Crowder standing around again. I swear that guy has to have the cleanest uni on the field.

Posted by: Po White Trash | December 13, 2009 at 02:39 PM
He is a terrible punt returner.
Posted by: Wayne Fontes | December 13, 2009 at 02:39 PM
Craig, IMHO, and that of Sporano, whose opinion matters the most, Pat White ain't going anywhere...he will be given every opportunity to succeed...and IMHO he will....
Posted by: mntmanfinfan | December 13, 2009 at 02:39 PM
oh my goooodness. I am having a stroke here bess! What in the world.
Posted by: finfan23 | December 13, 2009 at 02:39 PM
Bess should not be used on special teams or on reverse plays. Why can't these fat idiots see that? Gosh!!!!!
Posted by: FB | December 13, 2009 at 02:39 PM
Another Bess bobble--i'm getting more & more scared
Posted by: MIA in BFLO | December 13, 2009 at 02:40 PM
get ready for the 2nd half drive killers called by henning and morono who allows them to go through
Posted by: test | December 13, 2009 at 02:40 PM
mntmanfinfan, you are speaking the truth about playcalling.
Hope you are right about White.
Posted by: Po White Trash | December 13, 2009 at 02:40 PM
It was a bad coaching decision that should not have been a drive-stopper, but it was thanks to Bess.
Posted by: PhinsWin? | December 13, 2009 at 02:40 PM
Sorry Po White...but so far, it's still "Pat White Trash."

ABSOLUTELY.
The fumble sucked, but why call the play at all. WHY BE CUTE. We are dominating on Offense.. lets keep it up. How many times do we need something bad to happen when being cute when we have not been stopped on conventional plays?
Posted by: LipsinToronto | December 13, 2009 at 02:41 PM
Bout time porter did something! Going against 2 rookie tackles, both taylor and peezy should be embarrased
Posted by: Jpapp21 | December 13, 2009 at 02:41 PM
Bess should not be returning punts!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Aquaman | December 13, 2009 at 02:41 PM
All I want for Christmas is for the f????ing coaches to stop making stupid calls, and please no more end arounds with Bess!!! He's fumble-prone.
Posted by: Jules | December 13, 2009 at 02:41 PM
As I said, Bess will not be on this team next year. He's not NFL caliber.
Posted by: PhinsWin? | December 13, 2009 at 02:41 PM
pat white was really special in college. watched him all last year. i think he is plain scared this year. he will be a good player possibly but we definitely took him waaaay to early in the draft . not smart

Indiana Dolfan,
Rex Ryan as DC would also be a big improvement.
Posted by: PM | December 13, 2009 at 02:43 PM
The Dolphins are putting a wall around Henne as far as pass protection.
