Miami's biggest problem on defense: LBs

I've been saying for two years now how badly the Dolphins need to upgrade at wide receiver. But knowing the folks that make the decisions about personnel in Miami, I've also been telling you the position that more likely will take priority this offseason in being addressed first is not wide receiver.

It likely will be the linebacker spot instead.

And rightly so, from what we're seeing lately.

The Dolphins linebacker corps is a nightmare right now.

Channing Crowder left Sunday's game -- as in bounced and was nowhere to be found afterward. He went home and is out for the season finale against Pittsburgh because of a foot injury, according to a source. The club is concerned he has a midfoot sprain or fracture that could mean a lisfranc, which is serious business. More will be known today.

[Update: Crowder is on crutches and wearning a boot today.]

That means Miami's linebacker corps against Pittsburgh will be Akin Ayodele and Reggie Torbor at inside linebacker and Joey Porter and Jason Taylor at OLB with Charlie Anderson and Quentin Moses as backup OLBs. Rookie J.D. Folsom, on the practice squad, may be added to the regular roster.

Help!

Ayodele has not had what I would call a good season. He is third on the team in tackles, but he's an ILB for goodness sake. He and Crowder should be leading the team in tackles. But alas, Crowder is often injured and both he and Ayodele over-run plays, or miss tackles or shoot the wrong gaps to the ballcarriers.

That's why Miami's leading tacklers are both safeties.

(Note to Dolphins: When your safeties are the leading tacklers, you have issues at ILB.)

The troubling thing is the Dolphins may be looking to upgrade at ILB this offseason after upgrading at ILB the past two seasons. Remember it was this administration that traded for Ayodele. It was this administration that signed Torbor as a free agent. It was this administration that re-signed Crowder to a new contract last offseason.

So if these guys aren't working out -- and they are not -- that is on this administration.

The Dolphins also have issues at OLB. Let's face it, Joey Porter, 33. shows up once every two or three games nowadays. He's not effective against the run and only gets to the quarterback when he's blocked by a tight end or running back. Put a tackle in front of him and he's stopped in his tracks.

The explosive first step Porter used to have is gone, be it because of his knee injuries or age.

Jason Taylor? He plays hard, but he's out of position. He is, at age 35, a part-time pass-rusher. He could be a latter day Trace Armstrong with 14 sacks as a specialist. But Miami's lack of talent at OLB pressed him into a starting role.

And so Taylor is doing grunt work on running downs when he should be chasing QBs on passing downs. That grunt work has Taylor playing with one shoulder the past three weeks or so. It has him getting close to but not quite to the QB. That half-second that has been sapped from Taylor because of an entire season's worth of collisions at the line of scrimmage is costing him sacks or strips of the ball.

And this just in: Taylor will not be getting younger next year.

So you want a big concern as the Dolphins transition after the regular-season finale to offseason mode?

Think of the linebacker position.

It was plain to see Sunday in the loss to Houston. It is a dire need.

What's the story on a Cam Wake?

I'd give my left nut for a safety with any kind of coverage skills right now. I'm on the Vontae Davis train; complain if you must but atleast he's trying to make a play out there. Teddy Ginn I refuse to believe! Refuse I say!

Watched the game w/ a Texan fan & a neutral. Both were amazed, as was I, at the pitiful tackling of the Fins in general & esp. the linebackers. Torbor missed a few big ones. Compare to the way the Texans LBs were rocking the Fins. Sad lackof effort.

I've been saying the LB corp is miami's biggest problem for MONTHS !!!! Good nite all .

Great, great post Armando. I couldnt agree with you more. I dont think any four of the guys the Dolphins have playing linebacker right now are above-average starters in the NFL. I think that position absolutely gets addressed in the first round this year. I wouldnt be surprised at all if the Dolphins take 2 linebackers within their first 4 picks or even 2 linebackers within the first 3 picks if the value is there.

I think Taylor, Anderson, and Wake are keepers. The rest are iffy at best. Maybe kershaw and Folsom will be players. There are plenty of holes still but this team still could have been a playoff team this year. Most of the reasons they aren't were self inflicted. But the refs were not kind to us, including today. Poor clock management/playcalling in the colts game was the worst self inflicted loss. I still enjoyed the season and hope to be even better next year. More time for henne to get better, to quit tinkering with white, for guys to get healthy to see some new free agents and to have as good if not better draft as this year.

Porter is a good situational pass rusher but is awful against the run, and Taylor at 35 should be used only as a pass rush specialist.

The two rookies at corner will be great. For the ammount of responsibility and the quality of receivers they faced all season, they did a very dignifying job. They need to learn to tackle properly, thou.

We need indeed a safety, actually with desperation. Wilson must be gone after next game.

Linebackers are, just as here said, a must. Both outside and inside. Torbor looked totally lost today when needed. Crowder is a solid option... as a situational player, not as a starter. Zack Thomas was. We need someone asstrong as the little fellow was, who's not as confident of himself as Crowder. Too big a mouth for what he does.

We also need a right tackle or at least bench Vernon Carey and getting the other guy in, that 76, very versatile, very capable. Carey's doing nothing but shooting the team in the foot: too many penalties, no protection at all.

We need another RB. Brown is not durable. Williams is great, but after 2010 what will happen? Thw Wild cat rules, but the question is: after this season, when Henning gets fired, will we be running it? It must stay woth the proper personal (Ricky and Williams and coaching the new-comer at RB).

We must sue the NFL for those freeking zebra decisions they keep making against us back since 1994 (against de Chargers in San Diego). I could count them, I have them so fresh. Ghost interferences, no markers down when the same penalties are against us, no personal fouls when our QB's get hit, early whistles, TD's taken and given away. Pure bull sh*t.

I want to win! Too many frustrating years now! At least during the 80's and 90's we were always one or two games away from the SB!

Crowder and Ayodele cant cover, over-run plays consistently, never make tackles at the line of scrimmage because they cant get off blocks, take awful angles to the ball, miss tackles, and have terrible football instincts. I am not ranting and raving either, they really have all the flaws mentioned above.

bigger concerns,

NT,WR,ILB,OLB,SS, Better coach decision making, i think at one point in the season, at least one of these problem solutions would've won at least 3-4 more games for us this year but we r what we are and that is a team of mediocrity. It will be interesting how we address our RB situation with whats gone on with ronnie browns prolonged season injuries and rickys stability to continue to perform at a high level, wouldn't be surprised if miami might look in the draft or maybe in free agency for another stable back. I dont know whats worse for dolfans, having the pats win the east or having to see both the jets and the pats in the playoffs.

I dont think this regime is completely at fault for us having sucky linebackers. You just cant fix everything in two years. There simply isnt enough money/draft picks to do that. A good example is that they traded a 4th round pick for Ayodele and Fasano, two stop-gap starters that each gave you one really good year (last year). They needed to make that trade because the roster they took over was a big fat joke. That doesnt mean they thought either of those players were the long term answer. When you have a joke roster, trading a 4th round pick for 2 decent players is necessarry.

Super,

Both things s*ck so much, cause we'll be out and waiting, as usual along the last decade, ten months to have hope again.

I hear you man. Very sad since it was there for the taking. But this was just not our year. When Ginn catches a "chunk" TD and it gets called back because your most reliable blocker is called for tripping you know you are just not going to win. There was another play when the Texans fumbled on a great hit by Vontae and again the call does not go our way. Just ridiculous how these refs determine the outcome of these games. To be fair, a good team should overcome the ref screw-ups but when you are on the fringe those things just kill you. Miami is not built to come from behind. So I knew the game was over when they went down 24-0 -- That team is built to run not throw but a valiant effort nonetheless. We really do need to get a playmaker at WR and TE but I think we need to continue to build the defense through the draft -- especially LB/S. I think we lose to the Steelers in a meaningless game for us and a playoff berth for them and finish at 7-9 which will improve our draft positioning (11th pick is best case scenario -- see below). Unless Dez Bryant is available, I think we need to draft defense, defense, and some more defense. The entire LB crew need to be replaced as that, along with NT and Safety was exposed this season -- particularly against TEs. Joey Porter and Jason Taylor are both past their prime and no longer the playmakers they once were, although I think Taylor shows great leadership and has tremendous heart -- I hope he is resigned for one more year. I think Miami will end up drafting Brandon Spikes from Florida with the 1st pick in the draft but would absolutely love to see Miami trade down say with Cleveland into the top 5 and draft Berry. He is an absolute terror at Safety and would instantly transform the defensive secondary as we would be set for the next ten years in the secondary. But I doubt Parcells would do that because we have plenty of needs and the 11th pick will land us an impact player. I think Miami is close and only needs a few more pieces: FS, NT, ILB, OLB, WR, and TE. I think we know we are set at CB, RB, QB, OL, DL, K, P, and Posession WRs.

Latest draft order:
1. St. Louis (1-14)
2. Detroit (2-13)
3. Kansas City (3-12)
4. Tampa Bay (3-12)
5. Cleveland (4-11)
6. Washington (4-11)
7. Chicago (5-9) (Traded to DEN)
8. Buffalo (5-10)
9. Seattle (5-10)
10. Oakland (5-10)
11. Jacksonville (7-8)
12. San Francisco (7-8)
13. Tennessee (7-8)
14. Carolina (7-8) (Traded to SF)
15. Miami (7-8)
16. New York Jets (8-7)

Here are the possibilities for Miami in Round 1, depending which position they decide to address:
TE: Gresham (Top TE prospect although I think there is a possibility he drops into round 2 because of durability concerns)
WR: Bryant (Top WR in the draft and good possibility he will be on the board when we pick -- The playmaker that Henne needs to open up the passing game)
S: Berry or Mays (I think Berry will be gone in the top 5 but Mays might drop to us only because he had a bad year)
NT: Cody (Solid run stopper could be the answer at NT for the next ten years)
ILB: McLain or Spikes (McLain will be gone in the top 10 but Spikes should be there when we pick and would give us two solid Florida ILB tandem w/Crowder)
I personally would like Miami to trade for Boldin to remedy the WR position as WRs generally take a few years to develop but eitherway, I am looking forward to the draft...

I also think this will be a deep draft and could see Miami trading for more pics in this years draft as they are saying it is very deep due to the fact that players are concerned about the NFL going uncapped next year and they will lose money by having to sign rookie contracts...

let them trade down for extra 2nd round picks and just load up on LBs... a diva WR isn't going to fix our defense, and let's be honest, CHANNING is the BEST LB of the 4 starters... We need another ILB or two, and a Strong Side OLB to replace JT... and that's assuming Wake will EVER be developed enough to play OLB in a 3-4.........................

IVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR MONTHS... LOSING ROTH WAS A MAJOR DUMB MOVE..... SIGH

My thoughts exactly, Roth coulda have been the difference these past 5 games.

I've been saying since the Trifecta got here that the inside LBs are below average. I was shocked that they re-signed Crowder (I guess they had more pressing needs).

I was wondering why the press never gave more attention to the fact that Crowder and Ayodele are constantly hitting the wrong holes and missing their assignments.

You really need good LBs in the 3-4 scheme. Crowder, Ayodele, and Torbor are just not good at all. It was ridiculous they way a team (Houston) that's averaging 3.3 yards per carry on the season pummelled Miami's defense even when they knew the run was coming.

Ughh....so many needs and so few ways to fill them. The probably misses on White and Turner are going to set the Dolphins back a bit. You just can't throw airballs with good draft picks.

Any entire post on the LBs, and no mention of Cam Wake? WTF?

i dont get you guys!!!

i agree on Ayodele and Torbor, Ayodele to me is a back up and Torbor a special teamer and blitzing specialist.

C R O W D E R

how many games do you guys need to watch until you figure out that he is our only playmaker @MLB.... every time he goes down or misses time the run defense goes south, players are not in place and nothing is working on defense. Remember the Chiefs game, remember yesterdays Texans game.

Crowder just gets his job done!!! Line him up next to a capable ILB (draft Spikes)

By the way, all the Crowder haters were screaming for Bart Scott, you know what? Scott is doing nothing, except being an overpriced FA.

OLB - i was saying it the whole time - cutting Roth was a misthake. Porter is injured and should be a pass rush specialist next season. Taylor, i love JT but he isnt a every down OLB either. Wake will be very fine and i really hope he starts vs the Steelers.

What do we have to lose?

i hope to see following line up changes for our last and meaningless (nothing then pride) game

- starting WR (Ginn, Turner, Bess, Hartline)
- OLINE (Long, Smiley, Groves, Thomas, Garner)
- OLB (Wake, Anderson)
- RB (Hilliard, Sheets)
- FS (Clemons/Culver)
- CB (Nickel - Jason Allen)

AND THROW SOME FREAKING BOMBS TO GINN

florida might have the worst sports fans in the whole wide world.

Hate Ginn as much as you want, but blame the freaking coaches for not finding ways to use his raw talent. All you haters wanted BRADY QUINN!!!

im not a blind fan, i hate to see him looking for the sidelines but blame the coaches for not getting him in positions to make plays. By the way my best buddie is a huge steelers fan, Santonio Holmes was aweful for years until he had his break out. Lets face it Ginn is the only WR who forces opponents to double cover any of our WR. Ginn is the only WR we have with quick striking ability - he is the only home run hitter we got.

1 question: Mr. WildPat Henning
"how come we havent seen a fleaflicker all season??? how? our run game is strong and i guarantee from 10 fleaflicker tries we get 7 big plays or TDs."

I LOVE THE DOLPHINS, I REALLY DO BUT I START TO HATZE THE BANDWAGON FANS, BEAT WRITERS, and Mando you are doing a very bad job lately. You are supposed to breakdown games, get us background infos, hidden stuff and not being an emotional biatch who is screaming every other weak for another head

I said linebackers last summer. Linebackers make safeties and cornerbacks look good. Crowder ain't the man.
I am not in favour of wasting high draft picks on receivers. Free agency is the way to go.

I'm at a loss for words after yesterday's game. I'm so mad, we had no pass rush at all. I think it goes beyond the LBs, I still think Carey is iffy at RT. Ya, I agree with most of the posts, we need to find a way to get some fast, strong, and tough LBs. No doubt. But we aren't going to get Spikes or any of the top prospects because too many teams need LBs. We should have drafted Clay Mathews, but I think Vonte and Smith are decent corners. I would get the best player available, whether TE, LB, or WR. Just my too cents.

agreed. LB will be our first round pick next year.

Mando, who else was available when Parcells/Ireland picked White last year? I can't recall.

Right again, Mando. I have said the same thing. The LB's are not fast enough nor young enough.

That is why I think canning Roth was stupid.

Good points. Keep it up the good work.

TISK TISK TISK !!!!

YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A CONTENDER WHEN NO ONE CAN AGREE ON WHERE TO SPEND YOUR PRECIOUS DRAFT PICKS!!! IM SURE YOUR BITC& TIT BLOB IN THE SKY WILL FIND ANOTHER GEM LIKE PAT WHITE FOR YOU GUYS. HOWS THAT WORKING OUT?

AFTER YOU"RE DONE FINDING ILBS and OLBS THEN ASKI IF YOU ARE REALLY OK IN THE SECONDARY. BOY DID SMITH AND DAVIS GET BETTER AS THE SEASON WENT ON. BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. THROW IN A SAFETY FOR WILSON SOMEONE BETTER THAN N JONES FOR THE NICKEL PACKAGE AND THAT SHOULD DO ON D. THATS ONLY SIX PLAYERS GUYS! STILL LOTS OF ROOM FOR YOUR O.

cocojoe -- some of the 2nd rounders that were selected shortly after White included Sintim (OLB), Barwin (DE), Mitchell (SS), Unger (OT) and Massaquoi (WR)

Not sure about 3rd rounders after Turner but do know that WRs like Knox, Collie, & Straughter were taken much later and have contributed to their respective teams, whereas Turner can't seem to get on the field on game day...

Have you ever considered that the reason the FISH safeties have so many tackles is also because

THE FISH LEAD THE NFL IN PASSING PLAYS GIVEN UP OVER 30 YARDS????

YOU MORONS. YOUR SECONDARY MORE THAN ANYTHING IS WHY THE SAFETIES HAVE SO MANY TACKLES. OOPS ANOTHER CATCH BETTER MAKE A TACKLE.

FU** YOU GUYS ARE JUST DUMB.

AND WHOS TO BLAME FOR ALL THOSE BIG PLAYS. FAGRIL WILSON? YEP = GREAT JOB BY THE TRIFECTA! OR, MAYBE THOSE LOSER CORNERS WHO EVERYONE SAYS IS GETTING BETTER BUT KEEP GETTING TORCHED EVERY WEEK?

IF YOU ALL SERIOUSLY THINK THAT CLAM CHOWDER IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM ON A D THAT HAS GIVEN UP AS MANY 30+ PASSING PLAYS AS THESE GUYS HAVE WITH LITTLE PASS RUSH THEN GOD HELP YOU ALL.

HOW CAN ANYONE CHEER FOR A TEAM THAT DOESN"T SHOW UP FOR ITS FINAL TWO GAMES WITH THE PLAYOFFS ON THE LINE.

I GUESS YOU ARE INDIFFERENT LOSERS AS WELL. ENJOY CELEBRATING YOUR 72 SEASON. FU***** PATHETIC.

YEAAAA WE STILL HAVE SOMETHING TO CLING TO THAT HAPPENED ALMOST 40 YEARS AGO!!!!

WOOOOOO HOOOOOO

Dude, you need to switch to decaf...

After we went down 27-0 we should have gone for it on every 4th down and managable in the 4th quarter to even have a remote chance. we punted on 4th and 4 and 4th and 5 or 6 that was a no brainer!! That last punt with 5 min to go sealed our fate. I just cant believe we punted!!! But this does give us better draft position because the playoffs would have hurt the draft and been a bigger dissapointment in the end.

The defense is again decent at times (like the 2nd half yesterday) but never dominant. Our pass rush is not feared, our safeties dont produce turnovers and we dont pop the opponents in the mouth hard enough to cause fumbles.

It's been that way for years. I think we draft 3 LBs and a NT next year in the first 5 picks. They've loaded up on positions the last two years - Linemen in '08 and CBs in '09.

Letting Hill leave in F/A was a mistake. Roth being released was another. We'll be reaching for a safety in the later rounds.

we should have resigned goodman as our corner and drafted clay matthews in the first round. no way should mat roth be released as he was a guy who could set the edge and TACKLE!!!!! we wasted 2 or 3 early round selections because we thought we were smart. HOW ABOUT BRINGING GUYS IN WHO CAN TACKLE!

I'm not sure if we will ever really know what actually happened with 'Roth Gate'...But if he was not wanted by the trifecta, surely he would have had some trade value to get additional picks. Down right shame...

biggest need on defense on NT .... in a 3-4 , your nt must demand double teaming so your lbs can do their job .... dump porter anyway possible , sign a lb and draft one or two but , nt must be priority #1 on defense..... vince wilfork will be a free agent if im not mistaken , we should throw the bank at him.g.wildon definately needs to go , trifectas worst decision in miami was the signing of wilson.

2008: "W"ilford
2009: "W"ilson
2010: "W"ilfork

Two people who should commit suicide and wouldn't be missed:
Dying Breed = Tortured Dolphin same person
Marc, unemployed crossdresser...

Marco, crowder sucks............take that crap elsewhere.

I've been saying the LB corp is miami's biggest problem for MONTHS !!!! Good nite all .

Posted by: NJ PHIN FAN | December 28, 2009 at 01:39 AM

IM THE ONE WHO STARTED IT THOUGH!!! Most dont see the big picture. We NEED 3 starting LBs to match-up with CHANNING. 1)AKIN is a back-up at best, you rarely hear his name called during games and cant cover TE and RB. 2)PORTER is a shell of himself,no run support whatsoever and all he seems to care about is rushing the QB and he's not doing that good anymore(put a tackle on him and nothing happens). 3)TAYLOR gets an A for effort, we all know he played out of position and did a great job. Spot duty and pass rushing downs only and he'll be just fine for us. Now for those of you screaming ROTH's name you're funny. ROTH is just as bad in coverage as the rest of these guys, the only pass coverage he ever showed was flat route and only when that side of the field is shortened by the placement of the ball on that right hash mark. Keep WAKE and ANDERSON as backups get rid of rest. AKIN must go,PORTER serious paycut or gone and will not start, TAYLOR is a gamer keep him and play him to his strength, and for GODSAKE get CHANNING some help. I suggest going for MCCLAIN in the 1st round if possible and PAT ANGERER of IOWA as the guy next to CHANNING with a 2nd or 3rd round pick. I would rather PAY a wr like a JACKSON or AUSTIN than to trade for a BOLDIN but a true #1 wr is a must for the offense. I predict VONTE will be a LOCKDOWN THUMPER within year or 2,that pick the refs didnt give him was a MAN-size play and his ceiling is very high, very HIGH. this draft should be DEFENSE and more DEFENSE. i hope we dont draft a WR this year unless in 6 or 7 round and somebody with some speed. i would take a good look at JIMMY GRAHAM with a later pick for our STALE TE play

my thoughts exactly sammy! For the life of me, I can't see any good reason to let roth simply walk! We are not loaded @ lb, he's young, solid, does not appear to be gravely injured (see clevland), could help our def, and was/is desired by other teams (again see clevland). How do you not hold on to him @ least for trade??? Does anyone know the answer?

I'm disappointed just like everyone else on the board. That said, we have come a long way in the past two years. My concern now is, what happens from here? Parcells has a penchant for upgrading a team to a gritty and competitive status which is pretty close to where we are now. I'm not sure he has shown how to make the turn on the last 10-20% of the equation. My concerns are:

Coaching staff - We've done too little with the talent/tools that we have. Ginn's speed can be used in a variety of ways if you have a little imagination. Also, too many questionable coaching decisions on clock management, motivation/preparation (re: yesterdays game). Even at our present talent level, better coaching would yield better results. Certainly injuries plagued us down the stretch but our coaching is suspect.

Grading out top-tier talent and prioritizing by need - This team is in desperate need of LB's and a safety. It is agonizing to see the likes of Cushing, Ryans and other LB's selected early in the past 2-3 years in slots where we had a chance to pick them tearing up opposing teams.

Personally, I love the suggestion to trade up and get Eric Berry for safety, grab a LB and TE after that. In free agency, I like to see them pick up Wilfork for DT, a receiver like Boldin and a quality LB or two.

man its crazy hearing all the negative vibes about WILSON at least he makes an attempt to tackle unlike HILL. do you realize with the lack of skills at the LB position might be the reason why WILSON is out of position so much. our S should not lead the team in TACKLING,NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!

First no-brainer:

Get Miles Austin in a dolphin uni.

Second no-brainer:

Get Packers free agent cover safety Nick Collins in a dolphin uni.

Third no-brainer:

Brandon Spikes or Rolando McClain #1 pick. Then trade up in the 2nd rd and take TCU de/olb Jerry Hughes.

Fourth no-brainer:

If still available in 3rd rd BYU TE Dennis Pitta. Had great 08 season. Numbers down in 09 because he's BYU's best offensive threat and teams game planned to take him away.

Not saying he's the next Dallas Clark but he reminds me of a college version.

If we can make these two offseason free agent moves and land the player I mentioned in the first 3 rds of the draft. I believe we can be a favorite to play in the Afc championship game in 2010.

LB's have been a bust. But don't overlook an offense that runs the same 12 plays over and over.

ROTH was the victim of a dumb ass agent! good luck and good bye to him. ROTH might have stop a couple of runs but what about pass coverage?? ROTH had 1 good year and wanted money at the cost of the team and younger guys who might have tried to hold the team hostage the same way he did! ROTH=BAD APPLE!!!!

What a dud Ayodele has been. I dont even think the witness protection program can locate where that boy's been all season.

Dont even think Ive heard his name more than 5-6 times all season long. Yesterday I saw an olineman drive him 10yds off the line of scrimmage where he made a half hazzard attempt to assist the safety on the tackle.

Last season Ayodele started off great. By late season he faded away. But this season he has yet to even show.

WE NEED LBs. if we take care of this problem the defense will easily be top 5

I was saying all year long crowder sucks and so does ayodle go back to dallas. maybe saban can help with some inside info on his graet linebackers he has at bama he owes us something. p.s dying breed sucks

phinfan that alone doesnt solve it. We need a cover safety too to be a top 5 defense. just the lb's alone makes us about 9th-12th. Without a cover safety its still bombs away over the top. Its like a very leaky roof when it rains.

Why thank you Matty marvelous I accept that as complementary coming from a flamed out dud like you.

@ birth73: I hear you on roth...but i'd prefer we held him hostage for some sort of compensation! I know the trifecta knows more than I...about football, players, and roths particular situation...but I just can't understand giving him up for nothing!

also..add safety to ur recipe and maybe then we can talk top 5 def...and we still don't have a steady answer at NT...

@GREEDY13:you cant get much value on a player who has 1 ok season and then the next let an agent fill your head with $ signs and causes you to miss team camps and games. Roth value at best was a 6-7 round pick. i truely believe if we shore up the LB positions the defense will straigthen out. case in point who was the TE for houston, how many tackles did the RB break, how many times the RB out in he flats or screens kill us. IM guessing the LB were to worried about the QB draw. we need PAT ANGERER as the next MLB. youtube this kid and you will see the type of player we need.

the NFL needs to stop team from rest players the way the COLTS did. what about the teams who might miss the playoff b/c of this. the only way this should be allowed is if the seeding has already been filled out for the playoffs

free agents to go after WR- Braylon Edwards,Steve Breaston both played with henne at Michigan or Brandon Marshall. LB- not much out there but one Demeco Ryans. S- Antoine Bethea Ryan Clark.

I certainly believe NT will be the priority in the draft...it would be suprising to see either Taylor or Porter back next season and wide receiver addressed in free agency, but defense is critical...and Matt 100% correct... Dying Pus sucks

Its easier to run dow what we have Miami has than what they dont. Noteworthy players (people of any value if you had to make a trade):
Long
Henne
Brown
Both corners
(Maybe someday) Wake.
Thats it. Sorry fans-thats it.

Ayodele missed tackles yesterday that made me sick to my stomach. I'll never give up on my fins, but we need help! I know sparano doesnt like to publicly talk about the team but I really hope he's searching for some answers.

we have the safety in HOUSE we just need to get the LBs up to par.

Crowder and Ayodele are average at best! BP needs to get rid of both of them.

Crowder is a victim of having bad MLB and OLB sandwiching him

the injury to ferguson really exposed our secondary.
big paul solai is not the answer.your thoughts?
is any one else having trouble signing in?cant seem to figure it out.
