NASHVILLE -- The Dolphins were certainly game today, scoring 18 unanswered points to erase a 24-6 lead.
But after tying the game 24-24 at the end of regulation, the Dolphins ran out of miracles.
Chad Henne threw an interception on Miami's lone overtime possession and Greg Camarillo was flagged 15 yards for an unsportsmanlike penalty.
The interception and penatly basically set up the Titans for a 46 yard field goal by Rob Bironas. He connected.
"It's hard enough to beat 11 Titans," Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder said after the game. "You can't beat 17 Titans. Put that on your sheet."
Crowder was talking about the officiating crew being on Tennessee's side.
Anyway, Dolphins lose.
Miami is now 7-7 and although the playoff hopes are not dead, they are on life support.
Henne, by the way, was 29 of 46 for a career high 349 yards with one touchdown and three interception. Ouch.

ravens up 14-0...
ravens have steelers and raiders next week
they were gonna win all 3 of the games anyway

Vadertime, give me a break. This team ain't going back to the old Chad. Nor should they. Evey quarterback has these days, esp. first year.
The great thing about Henne is brings em back to tied with ballsy play. That quality you cannot coach. Not throwing desperation interceptions when you're going down -- that you can coach.

We make the playoffs and we would get pushed around we just aren't there yet it showed last year when we played Baltimore in the playoffs we are a few players away from being great almost there almost.
Posted by: AZphinatic | December 20, 2009 at 04:46 PM
I agree with MiaFins1. Our highest priority is finding, via draft or free agency, a bonified #1 receiver. Our present receiving corp consists of decent # 2 and # 3 receivers, but without a #1, we will be stuck in the mix at this time of the season, gasping for air just to have a prayer of a wild card spot. Definitely, there are other needs, but with a true #1 and our running game, we could go very far.

Sick of Henne, watch it again. It was no rocket. It was a wobbly duck tipped by someone, and Bess slipped.
Posted by: TNFINFAN | December 20, 2009 at 04:46 PM
8 turnover in the last 2 games. Put that in your pipe and smoke it! One would figured that would be coached up, but considering that the Dolphins didn't even show up to play today despite the final score, how can you expect the coaches to...you know... actually coach?
Posted by: JaxPhinfan | December 20, 2009 at 04:46 PM
You Henne badgers are idiots, it's because of Henne that we are still factor for a playoff spot, go blame your mother instead for putting such trash in this world!
Posted by: Standley23 | December 20, 2009 at 04:47 PM
Missed the game, though it sounds like turn=overs was a issue......
Posted by: cuban menace | December 20, 2009 at 04:48 PM
turnovers were the issue CM.

how the hell did that post get on here frome dome as---
Posted by: evans | December 20, 2009 at 04:50 PM
Sick of henne did u watch the game last week or the week before??? He's a good qb playing with average receivers patience and watch because when it's all said and done this guy is gonna be great even Belicheat said it.
Posted by: AZphinatic | December 20, 2009 at 04:50 PM
Henne needs to grow and will grow.. IMO.
#1 Wr please god.
Posted by: Po White Trash | December 20, 2009 at 04:50 PM
When you throw 50 times a game, shiiit is gonna happen.
Posted by: Standley23 | December 20, 2009 at 04:51 PM
Their is still 2 games left and we are 1 game back from the wildcats, so anything could happen, we have seen it before. And Henne is the real deal, Payton manning went 1 and 13 in his first season, next year we will be hard to beat
Posted by: Eddy007 | December 20, 2009 at 04:51 PM
As usually is the case, its the little things that win or lose games...everyone seems to be forgetting the awful play in the secondary early on...the lack of a pass rush...the failure to repeatedly stop Tn on third and long early...the untimely penalties (when was the last time you saw a nose tackle called twice for holding?)...the odd play calling...missed opportunities...all of those lead to this loss...and the turnovers were the last straw...and with all that, we still shoulda, coulda, woulda won the game...on to the next game...
Posted by: mntmanfinfan | December 20, 2009 at 04:52 PM
Henne will be good, today was hard to digest but next year we will be a force to be dealt with.
Posted by: Po White Trash | December 20, 2009 at 04:52 PM
You can't pin this loss on Pat White's several plays disrupting Henne's rythm.
Henne and Davis should take most of the blame.
Maybe now we'll see White get some more playing time.
Posted by: swamysez | December 20, 2009 at 04:53 PM
Offensive coaching and Henne really hosed up this game. We manage to keep Young to 24 points but blew how many chances? In fact, Henne should've been picked on that lucky play we got. I did not understand a lot of our play calls. They coaches the tieing TD well, but before and after were sometimes horrendous.
3 times having to settle for a FG. Pass into the corner of the end zone on 1st down. We never get those right. I hate those toss up passes. And then why did we throw down field on 3rd and 5 in OT? I don't get it. What was the hurry, there was 14 minutes left!
Add some crappy officiating down the stretch. Quick whistle on the Taylor fumble. Can't do anything once the whistle is blown. And the personal foul...the guy wasn't down yet. THis is a pure case where Sparano to the NFL should file a complaint for all the good it will do.

Armando,
Henne's carrer high in yards was the 352 he threw against New England 2 weeks ago.
Posted by: PriceMaster | December 20, 2009 at 04:53 PM
Hene bashers head to the Jets we don't need you this team is not ready for prime time but will be this will only make them hungry all the close calls builds charater
Posted by: evans | December 20, 2009 at 04:53 PM
Shame they lost, sounds like if they reduce the turnovers they'd be 10 and 4 right now......

Posted by: Po White Trash | December 20, 2009 at 04:55 PM
Once again, Henne is the reason we are all still here!
Posted by: Standley23 | December 20, 2009 at 04:55 PM
A couple of years ago we would have folded the tent when we were down 24-6. This is a gritty, physical, young team that is on the right track. in addition, they are a ton of fun to watch, especially on offense. It's tough to win in the NFL. The other guys are getting paid too. This team reminds me of the young Cowboys of the 1990s before they starting winning Superbowls. I like this team. One more draft away from making a real run in the AFC.
Posted by: Iceman | December 20, 2009 at 04:56 PM
Henne is doing good despite not having a #1 WR and a great defense. Sanchez has both and they put up a whopping 7 points at home today and lost.
Who would you rather have?
I will take Henne.
Posted by: tar | December 20, 2009 at 04:57 PM
Henne is a money qb. He has three 4th quarter come from behind victories and come from behind tie today. So that's 4 out of 11 games where he made all the plays to bring us back from losing in the fourth quarter!! All on his arm. And he did it with poor wide receiver play until the past two games. If he had a quality receiver he could do even more. Interceptions come when you throw 50 times a game and he made a poor decision for one today. But Bess was falling on the last play and Henne's hot hand is the only thing that kept us in the playoff hunt this long. Without Henne we would have 3 more losses this year instead of fourth quarter comeback wins. He is doing just fine and has the same or better stats than Flacco and Ryan had their first year. Henne is very cool in pressure and nothing fazes him from previous plays in the game. He just goes in and moves it down the field. He is going to be something special. If the refs didn't give them 15 more yards to try the field goal, I bet he would have come back and marched us down the filed one more time!

HENNE IS THE REAL DEAL .LET HIM KEEP PLAYING AND NEXT YEAR ONCE YOU GET READY OF THE OLD AND THE UGLU THIS TEAM WILL ROCK .

Iceman Standley...
Fans like you all will make our team want to win for us.
Posted by: Po White Trash | December 20, 2009 at 04:58 PM
Henne will be good for a long time he was the reasone we were able to even come back in this one!
Posted by: AZphinatic | December 20, 2009 at 04:58 PM
As far as playing time's concerned Henne's still aq rookie. When you ask a rookie qb to put your team on his back bad things will happen.
However thru all the good of it Henne still passed for well over 300yds. Thtas far from bust territory in my book!

Good job fins they showed one thing and it was heart and they are physical....give them one more draft and couple players and they are AFC contenders let's keep our heads up next year will be good....were still in it for the wild card but those hopes are slim unless baltiomre loses which I doubt so idk let's hope for the best

TOM BRADY HAD ONE INTERCEPTION TODAY BUT HE WON THE GAME AND SOME DAYS HE DID HAVE INTERCTIONS AND LOST THE GAME .IT HAPPENED TODAY TO HENNE BUT YOUR LOUSY DEFENSE DID COME WITH ANY THING TO SPEAK OF FOR THEIR PAY CHECK .
Posted by: GOpats | December 20, 2009 at 05:05 PM
It was nice to see Henne run today he is developing nicely. He needs better targets, Hartline had a great play at the end there!

But Henne is doing ok. He just made some bad decisions today.

D is getten better, they were not to blame today.
Youth is to blame, but there are much worse problems to have.
Posted by: Po White Trash | December 20, 2009 at 05:09 PM
Po White,
2 seasons removed from 1-15, the NFL's toughest schedule, and all of the crazy injuries. I still think that its truly phenominal to be sitting where we even sit today!
Even thru all the good and bad of it Im so proud of this team and proud to be a Dolfan. I'll still be wearing my Dolphin ball cap out in public all week long. I have several of the.
Just cant state enough how proud I am of this team. Its just some of its so=called fan who disgusts me!
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 20, 2009 at 05:09 PM
Ricky Williams blows. His fumble near the end zone is inexcusable. He cost us the game (well him and that stupid Henne INT).
Posted by: Eric | December 20, 2009 at 05:09 PM

Goputz, the defense was fine. Turnovers killed us today--no surprise you didn't notice, seeing as how, if you were a real football fan, you would have been watching your own team almost lose to the Bills.
Posted by: Kevin11c | December 20, 2009 at 05:12 PM
at least henne is better than jay cutler

Ricky dosent blow he only recently started fumbling I know in the red zone. Tenn D was seriously hard hitting today, very physical game, could have been worse.
Posted by: H8dpats | December 20, 2009 at 05:13 PM
Dear Fans,
Sorry, to let you down. This is only my second year. I will try to do better next year if you let me.
Happy Holidays,

GO...
Two week run from here then sell.
Posted by: Po White Trash | December 20, 2009 at 05:14 PM
Don't get me wrong, I had no faith after are first series of the second half, but I also saw that Tenn didn't look like they really wanted either. In all my life I have never walked out on are phins, and they truley showed me alot tonight win or lose. I won't argue that there was some bad playcalls, key turnovers, and bad penalties. I also know that this is a team that has alot of starters on IR, but still put up a good fight. This team is on the up swing as oposed to the past.
Posted by: Standley23 | December 20, 2009 at 05:15 PM
Gopats your probably a nice guy and all it's just we had an emotional loss today, we don't need you coming in here rubbing salt in our wounds with your Welker praise or Brady praises, we really don't care. Let us discuss our team for once dude!
Posted by: H8dpats | December 20, 2009 at 05:17 PM
Eric, you're an idiot. Ricky Williams is great. He has always been great, he works HARD to be great, and I'd take 50 guys with his heart and dedication if there were more than 10 of them in the whole league.
