Titans defeat Dolphins 27-24 in overtime

NASHVILLE -- The Dolphins were certainly game today, scoring 18 unanswered points to erase a 24-6 lead.

But after tying the game 24-24 at the end of regulation, the Dolphins ran out of miracles.

Chad Henne threw an interception on Miami's lone overtime possession and Greg Camarillo was flagged 15 yards for an unsportsmanlike penalty.

The interception and penatly basically set up the Titans for a 46 yard field goal by Rob Bironas. He connected.

"It's hard enough to beat 11 Titans," Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder said after the game. "You can't beat 17 Titans. Put that on your sheet."

Crowder was talking about the officiating crew being on Tennessee's side.

Anyway, Dolphins lose.

Miami is now 7-7 and although the playoff hopes are not dead, they are on life support.

Henne, by the way, was 29 of 46 for a career high 349 yards with one touchdown and three interception. Ouch.

Yep, gutsy play, real heart and moxie by this team.
It is very hard to win on back to back road games for ANY team in the NFL.

The Phins should all hold their heads up high and fight on to win the last 2 home games.
Finish with a second consecutive winning season above .500.
This time 9-7
It will be great momentum going into the offseason and could possibly even find a way into the playoffs if the other cards fall just right.

Either way, we stand good and grew up a lot today.
We are physical and gritty.
Next year teams will not want to face us at all.

Its been years since Ricky has had this kind of game load. I think that may have something to do with his sudden case of fumblitis.

Dont think he's tired, just may have a lapse of focus in putting the ball away properly at times. Good news is it was only once today as compared to what, 3 last week.

Bradley couldn't have said it better myself

Did you see those Ricky dives in the endzone today heart first!

Either way, we stand good and grew up a lot today.

EXACTLY if we can get a WR in free agency then our draft can fall in place with our other needs lb,nt and s in the early rounds

What would have been if we still had Ronnie and Jason today?

WELL ANOTHER SHI*T DECEMBER FOR THE STINKY FISH.

YOU LOSERS ARE BACK WHERE YOU NORMALLY R ON THE OUTSIDE LOOKING IN TALKING ABOUT POTENTIAL, THE DRAFT, WHAT MIGHT BE WHILE THE REAL NFL TEAMS GET READY FOR JANUARY.

YOU FUCHING LOSERS GET TO DO IT ALL AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

Looks like most the real finfans are here right now. The bandwagoners and emotion over intellect posters seem to be no where to be found. LOL

Yeah, what's with all the henne hating here??!! This guy is game though he has to cut down on INTS....but hopefully that will come w/experience. A little bit of consolation...at least Ricky got his 1000 yards....
As for the playoffs, long shot if any shot @ all for the Fish. I do think this team is on the right track and w/some additions-subtractions we'll be a good team in years to come.

Although we have shot ourselfs in the foot these last couple of games.

We are shutting people out in the 4th Quarter
We are putting points on the board in the 4th Quarter.

I still believe........some people need Prozac before game time.

Soiled :)

Still many needs to address through draft and Free Agency. I am hoping for 2 more losses but great Chad Henne performances for the rest of the year. Vincent Jackson or bust!

Totureddolohan go hang out in the jets blog the phins are gonna own the afc east they seethe youngest team in the league.

Does Daunte Cullpepper look good for all you Henne haters? Or maybe we should have drafted Jamarcus Russel?

Hey TourturedDolphan, are you still mad about getting drilled by the wrong end of Ray Finkles sausage aren't you? LMAO...drunk Cropduster fan!

We need speed at WR and , if a RB is available pick one up. Ricky is a nice backup but Ronnie cannot stay healthy.

Right now the teams just has a little more heart than talent. After this offseason IMO we should be a very solid playoff team.

Dear Mr. GetterDone Phins!

"drunk Cropduster fan!"

Nicely done

Soiled :)

"LACES OUT"

I like Henne, this is basically his rookie year, but he has got to work on his touch passes and in all fairness, let's get the guy a pro bowl caliber receiver, bess, Camarillo, and hartline are kinda like the same person out in the field, don't get me wrong I like them but cmon, we need a dynamo out there to balance everything out

We had the toughest schedule in the NFL. We can end the season 9 - 7. I'll take that!!!

Another bad December, Tort (rhymes with Dork)...if you knew your ass from your bald head, you half-assed imbecile, you'd know this is the first time the Dolphins lost in December in 2 years. It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear as a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt.

sick of henne,

I am fighting not being really rude as you sound so silly. we lost a good game to a good team and we went away trying. Henne didn't choke, the ball he threw was a good one, he couldn't anticipate bess falling - it happens. We lost, so what. This season, as we all knew, was about growing our youngsters and we've done that. We're getting better and I don't think the Pats, Jets, or Bills are.

TRUCK STOP MUST BE CLOSED OR SOMETHING.

Pole smokin B I T C H.

TorturedDolphan Shouldn't you be getten stitches and icing down your anus?

By the way Jets lost and your QB Cant score!

Jets suck donkey balls and you suck trucker Balls.

Plus I have faith that Parcell's & Co will address holes this offseason. Henne is the real deal fellas

Jets lost cabin pressure 40 years ago!

Kevin, Who origenally said that?? was it Thomas Edison I think, That was great...

I hate coming in here and commenting on other peoples posts but when you make ignorant statements about a first year QB you really are a friggin jackass. Dan Marino and lots of other people around the league have said Henne is the real deal. You can see it with your own two eyes as well. The kid is 7-4 in his first year as a starter and has brought the team back numerous times. He doesn't have the weapons around him having lost ronnie brown and having no true #1 receiver to go too. He also has no height receiver to throw the ball up for grabs at. He has made his share of mistakes as any first year qb on a rebuilding team would. DO NOT compare him with Flacco or Ryan because they already had the offensive pieces around them. Instead ask yourself how Henne would've fared playing in Atlanta or Baltimore. It amazes me the level of stupidity that some fans seem to possess as I remember hearing the same garbage about Steve Young and Troy Aikman who both had very shaky starts to their career until they had talent around them. The kid is trying to be aggressive in getting his team a win and or trying to make a comeback. Aggressive QBs throw interceptions. Everyone was screaming that we should sign Cutler and the guy throws interceptions all of the time. Brett Favre was an interception machine when he first started. All I ask is that you get your head out of your a** and use it for some thought beyond "yippee we won and are going to the superbowl" and "boo-hoo we lost and all of our players suck,,,fire the coach"! Grow up and quit your whining and bitching every time something doesn't go the way you want it too. Have some patience for f**ks sake! This is a work in progress and a lot of us tried to warn you of that before the season started but you didn't listen. You got your little hopes up and said we were all wrong. You said that the Phins had a great year last year and were going to be better this year eventhough the facts were screaming you were wrong. And here we are, two games left in the season and instead of admitting you were wrong you belly ache and call all of the players and coaches names to somehow make yourself feel better. As if you WERE right and this is a great team and it's just a particular player or a coaches fault when they lose. Which also proves to me that you never played a team sport in your life. If you did you would understand that a REAL athlete never blames one person because they realize it's a team sport and that a team depends on all of it's parts to be succesful. Henne did not cost us the playoffs, that was a team effort and it started in the first 3 games of the season before Henne even stepped foot on the field. Maybe the team is 9-5 right now if Henne was practicing as our starter in the offseason and played in the first three games, ever think of that? Nope, too busy bitching and moaning to put any real thought behind the bashing of your own team. Support your team and support your coaches as if they are your family! We are supposed to be fans and we're supposed to be in this together! Not happy when we win and then bailing out and pointing fingers when we lose dummy. That's what traitors do so man up and grow a pair. Glad to see there are a few smart fans out there still supporting our team, kudos to you guys.

Denver is down to the Raiders right now 13-6.
Baltimore is only up on the Bears 14-7.
If we finish 9-7 we still have a good chance to get in the Playoffs. You cannot assume anything in the last three weeks of the season. I think the Dolphins have an excellent chance to win their last two games at home!

nyscott, very well said. Couldn't have said it better myself!

NYScott,

Like what you are sayin.

Would say read all the posts here and you might feel different.

Most are very supportive. We got some good fans!

Thanks , my eyes are killing me and now i have a headache. LOL !:}

great post nyscott

I think it was Mark Twain

Great Novel NYscott.....Iam getting ready to read "War and Peace" and iam sure it wont take as long as reading one of your post....LOL:)

Guys as a fan my heart would love for our team to go to the playoffs, But when the intellect takes over it says its much better we didnt.

Still love the team no matter what!

Ok, I' out

"It's hard enough to beat 11 Titans," Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder said after the game. "You can't beat 17 Titans. Put that on your sheet."

I would like to say no excuses but in game like this, well......

Po you're right. I did go through and read more of the posts after I put mine up. There does seem to be more supporters than detractors so that's nice to see. It's always the few that ruin it for the many. We're going to be a damn good team in the next couple of years and the way the tuna has built this team will almost guarantee consistent success for some time to come. That was the plan and I'm glad they're sticking to it by not listening to the minority of whiners who need the instant fix. You know the one, the same fix that got us to 1-15 in 08'. Never worked and most of us know it. Hold your heads up high and buckle up ladies and gentlemen. We'll get there soon but until then it's going to be one hell of a ride!

Amen NYScott...some of these "fans" would have the Fins trading out coaches and players on a weekly basis if it were up to them. Apparently, they make no mistakes in their line of work...must be frustrating for them to live amongst us normies.

I can't help it Menace. When my blood gets boiling the typing doesn't stop! :)

Since Dan Marino retired we have had Jay Fiedler, Ray Lucas, Brian Griese, AJ Feeley, Sage Rosenfels, Gus Frerotte, Daunte Culpepper, Joey Harrington, Cleo Lemon, Trent Green, John Beck, Chad Pennington and Chad Henne.

Based on what I have seen this year, I think we have finally found a QB. Anyone want to go back to the AJ Feeley days?

I will take that ride NYScott, sound fun with a great ending!

Ice, That one list of losers you got there....

This is a young team that has holes, but flashes some of its potential.

The QB is aggresive and resillient.. isn't that something we have been missing and pining for since Marino? Henne is not the problem. His style will win us more than it loses.

We have a few positions that REQUIRE an upgrade, but we also have a few positions where we have our stars of the FUTURE. Our corners, for example.. they make some great plays but in keeping with their experience, they also blow a few.

As a fan, am both dissapointed and satisfied. I am dissapointed in this loss. But win or lose, I am very satisfied with the changes to this team in only 2 short years. Do you remember 1-15? Do you remember how close we were to being 0-16?

How far are we from that team? do you still remember how many starters we have placed on the IR this year? Yet, 2 weeks left and we still are not officially eliminated..

I wish for my Dolphins to win every game. While not always favored, I think we have a chance against everyone in this league, and almost DID beat the Saints AND the Colts..

It would be safe to say that we finish the season 8-8...of course, we have been above 500 only one week.. but being a fan is not about being safe.. 8-8 does nothing for us.. and as a fan I ALWAYS BELIEVE... that doesn't mean I am betting on the phins to win this year.. am not retarded.. BUT, being a fan is not about telling the world what is most likely to happen, it is about sharing with likeminded fans.. sharing what you would LIKE to happen, no matter the odds.. and then coming together and supporting your team to that end.

finfan for 40 years...most hope Ive had in a long while...still hoped we'd do a little better in some basic areas...holding on to the ball the most prominent...O-Line seemed over whelmed at times today...lack of pressure on opposing QB hurts us most games...on the other hand, we corralled Johnson for the most part...he got his yards, but didn't kill us...the D cant get off the field on third and long...stupid penalties at the worst times...much of this is the result of being really young in some places, and being a little too old in others...based on the last two years, I'm guessing the trifecta will get this figured out next year (I hope).

Well said Lips

Except thje last two of course(Henne and Penne)

LOL...I can never look at the actress Sean Young the same since that movie.

LipsinToronto,,,,nice job. Loving all of the team support in here!

Cuban , what do you think of fasano lately ? FASANO JOISEY BAAAAABY !

Good night everyone and keep the faith.

The lack of producting in the red zone and turnovers cost us the game.
Even tho TEN scored 24 pts the D played with heart and strength. They held CJ to 104 yd on 29 carries for a 3.6 yd avg...DOWN from his yearly avg of 6 yds a carry. His LONGEST Run was 15 yds, FIFTEEN YARDS PEOPLE. He was held to 2 catches for 55 yds, longest one was 41 on that stupid screen we blew blitzing on. CJ DID NOT GET INTO THE END ZONE. How worried were we before the game it would be a blow out by CJ, we had to concentrate on containing him and WE DID. The passing game was a little bit off but overall we survived especially the 4th quarter.
Henne, there is NO one since Dan I would pick we've had over Henne. He is intelligent, gutsy, doesn't panic, got a cannon for an arm, doesn't shy away from contact, learns from his mistakes and has been the catalist that has propelled us to where we are today. He is the future. He has had a great teacher and mentor in Pennington. The kid will survive and we will prosper with him, he is a lot better than Mannning was in his first season as a starter. I'm not saying he is a Manning but I would rather have him than Flacco or Ryan or Quinn...had we not drafted Ginn we would have gotten Quinn and eventually not Henne. WHo would you rather have...nuff said.
Ginn, Give him one more year or part of next year if he doesn't work out before the trade deadline trade him. Turner has to go a waste, unless he developes in training camp. THis year in training camp he was all the rage, the jury is still out.
We definally need a WR (FA or draft) a ILB a NT and RB with potential, another S.
Lower level picks go to O line for depth.
Guys, this team if the real deal. Step back and look at the big picture. Two years ago would we have begged to be where we are today. Last year spoiled us a little. We were in most of our games (except the NO loss). If BP and JI can pull some FA moves and have a good draft we will be the team to beat for years to come. The Pats are old and sucking. The Jests have spent tons of money and are sucking, Buff is in the toilet. We are young, strong, growing and have more potential than any team in the division. I have been a Phin fan since Shula join the team. Its been a rough ride but even with the heartbreaking losses we have had this year, it has been special. We can make the play offs still with a Denver loss or a Balt loss and we win out. All other teams have NO bearing on our playoff scenerio, period, they can all (Jax, NYJ, TENN, and NE) they can all win out and we can still get in. If NE looses two we can still win the Div. (not likely to happen). I can see Den loosing to Philly (hell they are down now to OAK!!!) and Balt to falling to Pitt (Pit is 21-14 over GB NOW!) IF we do make it to the Playoffs we may not last long, it would be good experience for our young players and a valuable lesson but we can get there and even if we loose early it would be a learning opportunity and inventment into the future.
Again look at the team we had (personnel/coaches) two years ago. Look where we are, look where we are headed and our Division Competiton, we have a huge leg up on them.
Take a deep breath and see the team for what it is and what we have and where we are going and what we have to gain...
We are still #2 in the Division. The Pats are on the decline.
Be pround of our team, even with the loss.
We may have lost todays battle but it's still a long war!
GO DOLPHINS

Here is the playoff generator on Yahoo you can plug in W/L and see where we are and what we need to get in.

I think we have to live with a first year QB who has great attributes but not much experience (all in all, he gives me hope for the future more than any other QB since Marino, not that he's the 2nd coming of Dan the Man). We're way ahead of schedule as far as turning the team around, I don't remember two better back-to-back years in a decade. There were just too many obstacles to overcome this year. But I like the grit the team showed today. I can't be mad at them. Yes, they started slow, made tons of mistakes, but came back to send the game in OT (and had the ball first in OT). We had all the chances and just didn't get it done this time. Can't be mad at that (disappointed, but not mad). I agree with a previous post, we need to get better in the offseason, and I can't wait to see the 2010-11 Miami Dolphins (but we still have an outside chance so I say we win out this season and at least be happy we got close).

The fins are progressing. The have some pieces in place for a good future. Henne, Davis, Smith, Wake, Hartilne, Bess, and white are all nice young players. Got some good vets too. Taylor, the o-line, the safeties and d ends. We are going to be really good next year and into the future.

why isnt anyone mentioning the BS no call on vonte. He was totally pushed off, thats why he fell and britt caught it for a TD.

LET'S GO BEARS! Man, the bears suck

Team support is where it is at!

Am glad there are more than a handful of people that understand that being a fan and rooting for a win, against any and all odds, does not make you blind sheep.. THAT IS WHY THEY PLAY THE GAME. I mean, otherwise, flip a coin and give someone the win...

This blog needs more 38 page posts

I heard somewhere that if pitt beats ravens next week and new englan beats jville and we win out were in, can anyone confirm this?
