NEW ORLEANS -- I promised you I'd try to catch up with Arizona Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin after this playoff game between the Saints and Cardinals.
I keep my promises.
And the news for Dolphins fans hoping to see Boldin in a Dolphins uniform next season is not great.
Boldin, you see, told me as he walked out of the Arizona locker room that he will not request a trade this offseason.
"No," Boldin told me following Arizona's 45-14 loss to New Orleans said. "I'm going to let it play out."
Boldin is under contract to Arizona for the 2010 season at a scheduled pay of $3 million. It is the final year of his deal. And considering he's a 1,000-yard caliber receiver, he believes he has been underpaid for some time and wants the deal redone.
Because of that, Boldin has, through his agents, asked for a new contract and even requested to be traded in the past when a new contract didn't come.
That approach is apparently changing for Boldin.
"I can't do anything one way or the other," he said. "If I go to them and request a trade, it don't matter. I'm under contract for another year. So no matter what I say or do, that won't change anything. I'm under contract for another year. So whatever happens, it depends on what the Cardinals want to do. I'm not worried about it at all."
Boldin also has no concern about the perception he's become injury-prone. He'll be 30 years old in October and missed these playoffs due to knee and ankle issues.
"I'm fine," he insisted. "I don't have anything that requires surgery or anthing. I'm fine."
Boldin knew when he was speaking with me he was talking to a Florida constituency because I told him I work for The Miami Herald. I asked him if he's ever thought about coming back to his home state of Florida and playing for the Dolphins.
"I've always been concentrating on my team," he said. "I can only help the Cardinals and that's it."

Agreed NJ. I cant believe that. Kaeding should be cut.
Im sorry but this is what hes paid for. You need to kick clutch FG's.
Carpenter is the man.

3 missed FG s...jeez, one week of Jests bull...
Posted by: bobbyd12 | January 17, 2010 at 08:10 PM
NJ---technically, perhaps, but Gman has an excellent point....the FGs are but a reflection of poor coaching, pisspoor attitude, lack of heart, fear, etc.
Much as I'd hate Kaeding if I were a SD fan, my main wrath goes to Norv & whoever devises their offensive schemes.
Posted by: The Seer | January 17, 2010 at 08:10 PM
Jets are playing good but they've had a little luck too. Cincy's kicker missed two easy fg's and SD's kicker missed a couple makeable fg's. Would it have made a difference...who knows???
Why is Norv Turner considered a good NFL coach??
Posted by: tar | January 17, 2010 at 08:11 PM
Norv is S H * T canned monday...
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 17, 2010 at 08:12 PM
11 strait wins and a bye week, Fire Norv.
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 17, 2010 at 08:13 PM
Tar - He is considered good cause he was the Offensive Coordinator when the Cowboys were good in the Mid 90's. I think he sucks.
The Jets play great defense I will give them credit for that. Thats why they have won these games.
Sorry Armando but I really dont think the Dolphins first problem is throwing the ball down feild. We need a defense more than anything.
Posted by: AK | January 17, 2010 at 08:13 PM
NJ PHIN FAN,
I'll make it real easy for you,
Go to NFL.COM,then click on the scores section and tell me how many points the Dolphins scored on the Jets in 2 regular season games and if you try to tell me anything other than 61 points, then you've obviously had too much to drink tonight. I dont care 'how' the Dolphins scored the points,i only care about TD's. The stats say the Dolphins scored 31 in the 1st game then 30 in the 2nd so my argument is why can the Dolphins score over 60 points in 2 games against the Jets whereas everyone else seems to struggle?
Posted by: Mark | January 17, 2010 at 08:13 PM
Norv certainly prevented the SD offense from scoring points, maybe he should be our defensive coordinator?
Posted by: tar | January 17, 2010 at 08:14 PM
lol @ tar.
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 17, 2010 at 08:15 PM
Yes Kaeding had a horrible game... He's a dam pro bowler he's Allowed to have a bad game... How many has he won to get them there? How bout rivers.. The "franchise" he couldn't do squat... Turner calling piss poor offensive schemes... The only reason why kaeding is a scapegoat is because rivers and the offense couldn't get the job done!!! That display of offense was an embarrasment to pro football and if I was a jet Fan I wouldn't be too impressed either

weep weep, sob weep….
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 17, 2010 at 08:16 PM
Hahahaha. I am realizing we are physical on Offense but soft on defense.
We need to be a lot more agressive. I want to see exotic blitz packages and Mark Sanchez on the ground.
Our offense is good enough to win games when we dont give up 30 plus pts every week.
God I am so frustrated right now.
Posted by: AK | January 17, 2010 at 08:16 PM
Agree Gman.
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 17, 2010 at 08:16 PM
Lordy I hate the Jets so.......thnxflly i can watch tv like 24 or sumpin tonite to dodge the Love-In. But how do I avoid the TV/RAdio Drool the rest of the week!?!
yes, i know, don't watch........but me likee football, but no likee jets 24/7
Posted by: The Seer | January 17, 2010 at 08:17 PM
The jets are gonna get gang r@ped by the colts becuase manning won't choke like rivers and look for fg,s... The jets have been fortunate to have the easiest route the divional round.. That's a fact!!!
Posted by: Gman050 | January 17, 2010 at 08:17 PM
weep weep, sob weep….
Guzzle Guzzle, Vodka Good!
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 17, 2010 at 08:17 PM
LOL Tar---
but he'd probably turn us down (ouch!).
Posted by: The Seer | January 17, 2010 at 08:18 PM
Wasn't it Kaeding who missed a fg against the jets a few years ago that ultimately got Marty fired...?? Guess what's coming no-nuts Norv?
Posted by: tar | January 17, 2010 at 08:18 PM
It's tru.. Turner should become a defensive coordinator.. He's good at low scoring affairs!!!! Dam I hate him!!! And I hate the jets more
Posted by: Gman050 | January 17, 2010 at 08:20 PM
Turner should become the new coach at lousiana tech while he can because if he waits till he gets fired his stock will be like GM!!! Go now norv and u can be the ad too
Posted by: Gman050 | January 17, 2010 at 08:21 PM
MMMMM, Vodka Good!
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 17, 2010 at 08:23 PM
Jet win BAD, Vodka GOOD!
Posted by: Po White Trash | January 17, 2010 at 08:24 PM
They should put norv at the exit am rivers at the other side of the exits and give each fan one powder slap across the face... It's the least they can do for letting those fans pay the money they did to watch that.. Some man is losing his home tonight because of the money he shelled out on beer and tickets... And some guy is losing his wife to a fat new yorker at the stall in the bathroom... It's the new york way!!!
Posted by: Gman050 | January 17, 2010 at 08:24 PM
Im heading back out in this stupid jet town. If they are in the superbowl I dont know what I am going to do.
Its not like I can take a couple of days off and come to south florida cause they will be down there!!
I may have to leave the country....
Its been real. I cant wait for the draft/free agency
Posted by: AK | January 17, 2010 at 08:25 PM

Mark . I don't drink and what the f are you talking about ?. You said miami put up 60 points implying that miami's offense did something vs the jets . Maimi 's offense did shyt vs the jets d in that 2nd game and should've lost if it weren't for ginn's 2 ko returns. Go to the same NFL.COM and see where miami is and the jets are going to the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME !!. Take your homer glasses off and face the Facts.

NJ:
serious Q: (I think i mighta posted this already, but whatthe hell):
What do you think of Malcolm Floyd now? & VJAx was no great shakes today either, was he?
Posted by: The Seer | January 17, 2010 at 08:40 PM
The Jets 14 game season is what go them into the playoffs. Because of their last two games, the opponent didn't need those games. As to where the Dolphins last 3 games mattered to both teams to make the playoffs and all the teams actually competed. Jets get a free ticket to the playoffs. If only the Dolphins had played the Colts in the last two weeks of the season, then we would of got a free one game win to make the playoffs. It is what it is tho, but there is one thing Jets and Fin fans can agree togther on, and it's the fact that Rex Ryan is fat.
Posted by: FinfanfromCA | January 17, 2010 at 08:40 PM
NJ PHIN FAN - I agree our offense didn't do much vs the Jets in the 2nd game, but you have to remember part of that is because we had 3 return td's, thus reducing our offensive possessions. I doubt it would have mattered much but that is an important variable.
Posted by: tar | January 17, 2010 at 08:40 PM
AK , i've got business to run and i don't want get arrested for attempted murder on jets fans. You be careful. :)
Posted by: NJ PHIN FAN | January 17, 2010 at 08:41 PM
NJ PHIN FAN,
What are you on about??
Go to page 7 and see where i started this discussion please..
I did'nt say we were better than the Jets and neither was i implying that Miami's offense did something special against the Jets. I'm simply saying the Dolphins scored 61 points in 2 games against the Jets and everyone seems to struggle against them. So far i've yet to have a decent answer....
Posted by: Mark | January 17, 2010 at 08:43 PM
Tar , believe me , they way miami's offense was playing it wouldn't have mattered.
Posted by: NJ PHIN FAN | January 17, 2010 at 08:43 PM
I will boss be good. I'll talk to you guys tomorrow...
Posted by: AK | January 17, 2010 at 08:43 PM
As to where the Dolphins last 3 games mattered to both teams to make the playoffs and all the teams actually competed.
Posted by: FinfanfromCA
And we lost all three of them, we earned the right to be where we are at.
Posted by: tar | January 17, 2010 at 08:44 PM
Seer , i like Malcolm floyd alot. He restricted but san diego has to make a choice. I was dissappointed in jackson today but that doesn't take away from how good he is. SD will keep him and Floyd could be had.
Posted by: NJ PHIN FAN | January 17, 2010 at 08:46 PM
If the Jets raise the Superbowl trophy in Dolphin stadium, I'm done with football. Done.
Tuna,Tony,and Ireland need to retire!

I just threw up in my mouth a little...
Norv Turner is looking like a fool with his pants on the ground, mouth full of gold, hat turnt sideways, thinkin he a cool cat...
Maybe Wade Phillips can be the new DC
Posted by: carlito from golfito | January 17, 2010 at 08:53 PM
Go Colts. We need the Jets to lose! At least we fought for the playoff spot And didn't back in!
Posted by: Calphin | January 17, 2010 at 08:54 PM
I think the Chargers need a new running back. Maybe we can send them Ronnie for lights out!
Posted by: Calphin | January 17, 2010 at 08:55 PM
Hey Armando, regarding ur article about miamis antiquated offense, look at all the success the jets have with their attack. They have a huge offensive line with a couple decent recievers and run the ball all over u. Plus the #1 defense. I don't think it's our style that's holding us back, I think it's specifically our personell. We need to be deeper on the d line, better lbs, and a fs. We have enough rb help to follow the (puke) jet plan of success. We swept them right? Just checking :P

Pants on the ground , pants on the ground . looking like a fool , pants on the ground , mouth full of gold , hat turned sideways .....

NJ, Po, 'Lito Golfito, whoever...
I came back to tell y'all if you want a nice laugh go to YouTube...Brett Favre in winning lockeroom doing "Pants on the Ground" chant/rap for the guys. He doesn't get all the lyrics, but it beats thinking about the Jets for a minute/ Just punch in Favre Pants on Ground & you'll find a couple of different clips.
