A postgame one-on-one with Anquan Boldin

NEW ORLEANS --  I promised you I'd try to catch up with Arizona Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin after this playoff game between the Saints and Cardinals.

I keep my promises.

And the news for Dolphins fans hoping to see Boldin in a Dolphins uniform next season is not great.

Boldin, you see, told me as he walked out of the Arizona locker room that he will not request a trade this offseason.

"No," Boldin told me following Arizona's 45-14 loss to New Orleans said. "I'm going to let it play out."

Boldin is under contract to Arizona for the 2010 season at a scheduled pay of $3 million. It is the final year of his deal. And considering he's a 1,000-yard caliber receiver, he believes he has been underpaid for some time and wants the deal redone.

Because of that, Boldin has, through his agents, asked for a new contract and even requested to be traded in the past when a new contract didn't come.

That approach is apparently changing for Boldin.

"I can't do anything one way or the other," he said. "If I go to them and request a trade, it don't matter. I'm under contract for another year. So no matter what I say or do, that won't change anything. I'm under contract for another year. So whatever happens, it depends on what the Cardinals want to do. I'm not worried about it at all."

Boldin also has no concern about the perception he's become injury-prone. He'll be 30 years old in October and missed these playoffs due to knee and ankle issues.

"I'm fine," he insisted. "I don't have anything that requires surgery or anthing. I'm fine."

Boldin knew when he was speaking with me he was talking to a Florida constituency because I told him I work for The Miami Herald. I asked him if he's ever thought about coming back to his home state of Florida and playing for the Dolphins.

"I've always been concentrating on my team," he said. "I can only help the Cardinals and that's it."

Tortured Jets Fan needs a arse check.Peyton will put it up yo arse next weeeeeeeeeeeeek.COLTS COLTS.NY WETTTTTTTTSSSSSS.FUG OFF WETS. NY PUDDY WUDDDY.U BLOW.

Seer,

Thank you sir. I will check it out. I am very upset to report that even in dade county, florida, the "woohoo's" of belligerent, white trash Jet fans can be heard outside.

Carlito , that nothing compared what i have to go through tommorrow. Man , i'm going to get it .

That's , to.

before any talk about signing a receiver please released or trade ted ginn... we have a number 2 and 3 receiver in bess and hartline

NJ Jets still blow. They got out of what they do and when the bolts let them back it sucked.

Nate Kaeding is nearly perfect in the regular season. His playoff statstics are 8 for 17. He is a choker, plain and simple. Why do the Chargers put up with him. You could see the look on his face. Deer in the headlights. He will never make the big one. He sucks the big one.

The Jets do still suck, ever since the Colts gave them that game, they have stumbled into every break available to them... Even as they beat the Chargers, all I could say is "...but they suck..."

San Diego sure played a chitty game today and as pissed as I am about the stinkin Jets being in the AFC championship game, the Colts deserve to play them for not putting them away when they had the chance 3 weeks ago.

It boggles my mind to think that until a couple weeks ago, the Dolphins were comfortably ahead of these lucky losers...

LACES OUT!!!!!!!!

Nate Kaeding = Ray Finkle = Lois Einhorn

Einhorn is Finkle. Finkle's a Man!!

But Kaeding ain't....and he's ProBowl!!!!

mebbe they oughta wait until post-season to pick ProBowl.

Norv Turner blows chunks, too, by the way, as does Phil Punkazz Rivers.

Carlito. I have a funny feeling the Colts are going to pay for letting the Jets in. God, I hope I'm wrong. Again, as a life long Dolphin fan I will not be able to watch the Jets in the Superbowl in Dolphin stadium. No amount of alcohol would numb the pain.

gerardo,

That would be unspeakable

How about u speak of it no more, that would be great thanks!!!

Carlito. Problem is, that I hate the Colts too for laying down against the Jets the first time. Best case scenario: Colts destroy the Jets. Colts lose Superbowl to Saints (I'm sick of Favre) That's the best I can hope for.

Good night. I'm done. Need to sleep.

I would like a Colts/Vikings super bowl to see the Manning/Favre duel

i would agree with the colts winning and favre knowing he was oh so close to another title.

Hate to say it but Jets D looks better than Ravens did yesterday and Jets O looks better than Ravens did yesterday.
Colts will giving at least 7 or 8 and I got take the points again.
BIG

NJ--

The following quote is not my opinion & I do not know if it's accurate.....I pass it along fyi cuz it was on a Charger blog & seems to sum up the sentiment of some of their fans...btw it was not a comment, but a post by whoever runs the blog *(http://www.bolthype.com/2010/01/chargers-lose-in-divisional-round-to.html).

"Malcom Floyd was given opportunities to shine, and he failed to capitalize. I'm a big Floyd fan, but with such a stingy Jets secondary led by Darrell Revis, we were counting on him to make plays. Instead he dropped passes and was called for costly penalties."

on second thought it does not look like that blog has many followers.

Floyd is a restricted FA anyway

Colts never should have laid down in week 15.They gave the Wets the spot.Manning and the crew never will forget it.They would have went undefeated.Manning and crew would have beat their azzzzz by 24.Jets fans can dream of the big win fuc>>k u.Jets suckkkkkkkkk.Never gonnnnnna get ittttt.

There you go and jackson didn't come up big and had a costly penalty.

i was just curious as to what the SD SuperChoker fans were thinking......but i really couldn't find a "Mando" style blog there, just some junior league twitter type links via The Google.....had better luck at the Dallas news Cowpoke blog.....and Boy are their fans pizzed!

So Mando, the 4 winning teams this week allowed a grand total of 34 points. All this talk of offense, offense, offense, and once again defense wins out come playoff time. Anquan Boldin will NEVER have the impact on the win/loss record that you lead to believe. And he won't come free, it will require a draft pick. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but our defense had to be the number 1 priority. Boldin would be a luxury addition, and we are not at that point yet.

And even with the defense that totally cost us games, of the final 4 teams, we absolutely should have beaten 2 of them, and swept one of them. Very telling about where we are as a team.

I say McClain & Myron would be a good start.

I'd like to get a LB like the USC guys who came out lastyear & all of 'em made an impact & went to ProBowl in rookie season (i think probowl stuff is right). Someone like Texans' Cushing, who made a few big plays vs us, If i recall correctly.

Lets talk about what impact all of the top receivers that are under contract to others teams would have on the Phins success in 2010.
Let's not just talk about Boldin.
Let's talk about Larry fitzgerald, Megatron, Andre Johnson, Marques Colston, Miles Austin, Austin Collie, Mario Manningham, Hakeem Nicks, Sidney Rice and who else.
All of them together will have ZERO production for Phins next year.
Now who did I leave out...?

The Jets are a joke

Chargers are the joke!!! Coach Kline calling pathetic calls...Shane falco at qb and Ray Finkel shanking fg's this team choked like I've never seen a team much less a women choke before!!!!

carlito you the joke

where is dying breed?

Gman050 |who is Ray Finkel? I dont get it???

Go watch the movie "Ace Ventura"..

omg how pathetic.. I had a feeling Norv "I wish they had Viagra for playoff games so I could get up for them" Turner would screw this up. I said it yesterday... that if Norv f'ed it up, we would get to see the Jets play the real Colts.. I was definately not hoping for it, but damn you Norv

I missed the game, had it on OVR.. but ran out of space... so thought I wouldn't see it, but they had it on again this evening, so just finished watching and puking.

But, I would like to see what the Colts do against that Defense... say the jets suck all you want, they are playing well right now... well enough to win...

And I guess this shows you what running and defense can do for you, even in today's NFL.. *sigh

Oh yes the pet detective movie, I forgot.
Where has "Ace" been? He has been missing from this blog for awhile. Unless it was one of NJ's many aliases. hahahaha

Where's cuban menace been ? He has been missing From this blog today . Unless he's really santo . just another one of the menace's many, many aliases. hahahahahahahahaha.

Maybe menace is also ace. What happened to Ace?
Aloco what did you do to him?

i'd give up a 3rd and 6th rounder for boldin!

LMao NJ, that boldin double-speak would indicate he will be here next year. Our leadership better do something because we are hurting at wr.
