NEW ORLEANS -- I promised you I'd try to catch up with Arizona Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin after this playoff game between the Saints and Cardinals.
I keep my promises.
And the news for Dolphins fans hoping to see Boldin in a Dolphins uniform next season is not great.
Boldin, you see, told me as he walked out of the Arizona locker room that he will not request a trade this offseason.
"No," Boldin told me following Arizona's 45-14 loss to New Orleans said. "I'm going to let it play out."
Boldin is under contract to Arizona for the 2010 season at a scheduled pay of $3 million. It is the final year of his deal. And considering he's a 1,000-yard caliber receiver, he believes he has been underpaid for some time and wants the deal redone.
Because of that, Boldin has, through his agents, asked for a new contract and even requested to be traded in the past when a new contract didn't come.
That approach is apparently changing for Boldin.
"I can't do anything one way or the other," he said. "If I go to them and request a trade, it don't matter. I'm under contract for another year. So no matter what I say or do, that won't change anything. I'm under contract for another year. So whatever happens, it depends on what the Cardinals want to do. I'm not worried about it at all."
Boldin also has no concern about the perception he's become injury-prone. He'll be 30 years old in October and missed these playoffs due to knee and ankle issues.
"I'm fine," he insisted. "I don't have anything that requires surgery or anthing. I'm fine."
Boldin knew when he was speaking with me he was talking to a Florida constituency because I told him I work for The Miami Herald. I asked him if he's ever thought about coming back to his home state of Florida and playing for the Dolphins.
"I've always been concentrating on my team," he said. "I can only help the Cardinals and that's it."

TorturedDolphan,
Shouldn't you be at a truck stop somewhere gulping Jizz?
Or is your belly already to full?
BTW, that is a rhetorical question.

Don't take me seriously... This sh/t is getting to be a complete joke... We are talking about a d coordinator Jesus they can't pick somebody and get it over with
Posted by: Gman050 | January 16, 2010 at 10:31 PM
I think the ravens will be in a bit of a pickle after the colts score here,

Posted by: Gman050 | January 16, 2010 at 10:36 PM
New stadium name... Vlasic Stadium... " and the dolphins are in a pickle here" haha
Posted by: Gman050 | January 16, 2010 at 10:37 PM
Gman050 , all joking aside. Relax. What's the Rush. Miami might like a coach who's still in the playoffs that they can't talk to until that team is out. I'd rather them do it right.
Posted by: NJ PHIN FAN | January 16, 2010 at 10:39 PM
I know i just enjoy busting chops and having fun.. Gotta get through this somehow
Posted by: Gman050 | January 16, 2010 at 10:42 PM
its too bad when a players fumbles when he is putting in such effort.
Posted by: LipsinToronto | January 16, 2010 at 10:42 PM
I don't know about Matt Ryan, but I have seen enough of Joe Flacco the last 2 years to know this: I am glad we have Chad Henne and not him. Flacco has I don't know how many completions to running backs. A lot. I think Henne and Ryan are both going to be pretty good in this league.
Posted by: Bootang25 | January 16, 2010 at 10:42 PM
i love henne but flacco has worse receivers than we do
Posted by: nj fish fan | January 16, 2010 at 10:44 PM
That was lame. don't quit your day job or you'll be in a pickle.
Posted by: NJ PHIN FAN | January 16, 2010 at 10:44 PM
I agree. I hate it when the running back is the teams leading reciever (Ravens). I don't think your QB can grow when option 1 isthe man 3 yards from him 80% of the time
Posted by: Kris | January 16, 2010 at 10:46 PM
Derrick Mason has been very good for a long time. Not saying he is now, but still a good vet. And Heap is good. I just never see Flacco try to make any tight throws, when he definately has the arm. That's one of my fav things about Henne, except for when he still throws it hard every pass lol.

Rumor has it that Cleveland is demanding Fins also throw in the Assistant Traveling Secretary before agreeing to Capologist swap. Apparently no one books a room like the Fins staff.
Actually, for those who appear to actually give a damn, it probably a Tom Heckart relating thing ( he did go to Browns, no?).
If Heckart wants our guy that bad, let him throw in Cribbs & we'll deal.
Posted by: The Seer | January 16, 2010 at 10:48 PM
down by 17, 8 minutes left... how about a 3 yard run to the left?
ready, break.
Posted by: LipsinToronto | January 16, 2010 at 10:48 PM
Cam's genius is about to burst through the clouds.
Posted by: The Seer | January 16, 2010 at 10:50 PM
Let me be the first to welcome Ray Lewis and crew back to Baltimore. Now i don't have to hear Ravens talk 24-7.
If i'm miserable so should what ever state i happen to be in as well.
GO MIAMI
Posted by: Kris | January 16, 2010 at 10:51 PM
Amazing watching the domination by New Orleans and Indy today, and then look back at our games against them. They will be 2 of the final 4 teams, and we played them very very well. Very frustrating actually.
Posted by: Bootang25 | January 16, 2010 at 10:51 PM
Cam... Cam Cameron can!!!'n nobody blows a game quite like cam cameron can!!!!
Posted by: Gman050 | January 16, 2010 at 10:52 PM
I agree Bootang25. Just a few more pieces and we will be there.
Posted by: MphsDolfan | January 16, 2010 at 10:54 PM
Oh hell I don't know what I'm talking about... I'm just waiting for a coordinator to be hired..
Posted by: Gman050 | January 16, 2010 at 10:58 PM
so what you are saying is that Cam is in a bit of a pickle?
Posted by: LipsinToronto | January 16, 2010 at 10:58 PM
lord this is boorrrrrring. 'cept for peyton's excellence & seeing that tool harbaugh do a slow burn as his team muffs any chance at all w/ pens & fumbles & etc.
Posted by: The Seer | January 16, 2010 at 10:59 PM
Does mean that New England wasn't that good....or is Indy just this good
They got destroyed by B'more...
B'more can't even move the rock against Indy
Posted by: Kris | January 16, 2010 at 10:59 PM
41 is going to need some cream when he gets off the field.
Posted by: MphsDolfan | January 16, 2010 at 11:00 PM
so then, Ray Rice & Flacco Failed Forward Fast? Almost as good as having your own punt blocked (anyone remember that gem in the preseason of Cam?)
Posted by: The Seer | January 16, 2010 at 11:01 PM
Cams middle name is dick...
Cam Dick Cameron... Bit of a pickle dick?
Posted by: Gman050 | January 16, 2010 at 11:01 PM
Indy's damn good.....they'll regret that week 15 laydown the rest of their lives.
Posted by: The Seer | January 16, 2010 at 11:02 PM
I think the early lead the Ravens got last week put the Pats in a position where they had to try riskier plays.. and they paid for it with fumbles and interceptions..
plus the Colts are a much more complete team than the Pats without welker.
Posted by: LipsinToronto | January 16, 2010 at 11:02 PM
Hey Cameron I've been told takes his players to bible studies...I wonder how Ray Lewis takes that being a murderer u must hear the demons... Haha
Posted by: Gman050 | January 16, 2010 at 11:03 PM
ok, this one is done - later
Posted by: LipsinToronto | January 16, 2010 at 11:03 PM
rice looks like he's about to cry; lewis looks like he wants to do somebody (on his own team's staff) some harm
much as he harmed us, I kinda dig "The Waiter"
Posted by: The Seer | January 16, 2010 at 11:04 PM
Flacco has a big nose does he take a Torah to study?
Posted by: Gman050 | January 16, 2010 at 11:04 PM
Lips---You just now realized this?!?
Posted by: The Seer | January 16, 2010 at 11:04 PM
I'll buy some of that Lipsin....
Posted by: Kris | January 16, 2010 at 11:06 PM
I'm out...Mando good job with the reporting...
RESPECT THE PAST....EMBRACE THE FUTURE
Posted by: Kris | January 16, 2010 at 11:11 PM
minor but telling point: see how Peyton seeks out players to greet at end of game, as opposed to poop-head Bunchen, who won't even greet his fellow Michigander Henne & runs to tunnel asap after game.
Posted by: The Seer | January 16, 2010 at 11:14 PM
I think we should trade our entire draft for A . Boldin. He's the best and would take miami over the top and into the Super Bowl.
Posted by: CALEB | January 16, 2010 at 11:41 PM
forget about boldin. I hooe maclin falls to the phins. We need defensive help.
Posted by: boulderfinfan | January 16, 2010 at 11:51 PM
I didn't realize he was going to be 30..... I wouldn't give up an early pick for a 30 year ok'd receiver. I would however take a chance Brandon Marshall if the pats don't get to him first. Troubled or not, talent trumps all.
Posted by: Gmaderas | January 17, 2010 at 12:32 AM
I see us developing our present receivers and drafting one in the 4th round.. I see the rest of the division upgrading there receivers.. Like THE jETS BRANDON MARSHALL!!! Coach Ryan built the number one defense in one season.. Now in year 2 he does major upgrades to the air attack.. At least he tried with Braylon.. We didn't even try .. Please upgrade the offense with some real talent at receiver, This blows...
Posted by: philm | January 17, 2010 at 04:16 AM
Go Chargers!!!!
Posted by: Litos | January 17, 2010 at 06:58 AM
Mando, I don't understand the driving need for receivers. We were -30 in total points. We got scored on more than we scored. We scored 42 tds. The Jets had less and made the playoffs. So did Cincinnati. If we had of stopped just 5 touchdowns we would be in the playoffs.
Why aren't you up there generating interest in what a big Nose tackle out of New England has to say? Boldin is injury prone and won't get the dollars. So he needs to keep quiet and have a big year to get the dollars.
Posted by: klndry | January 17, 2010 at 08:26 AM
miami does need wide receiver help, but not if it is gonna cost alot (first round pick)receivers in da draft i would like r,arrelious benn, golden tate, mardy gilyard, also there is a kid from georgia tech ,forget his name
Posted by: nj fish fan | January 17, 2010 at 08:53 AM
go jets.
Posted by: jet | January 17, 2010 at 08:54 AM
Kindry, Armando DID talk to wilfork after the game last week. They are done, so off to the next game, you know?
Posted by: LipsinToronto | January 17, 2010 at 09:06 AM
I doubt Maclin would help on defense
Posted by: carlito from golfito | January 17, 2010 at 09:41 AM
In my best Arnold voice:
"GO CHARGERS, GO"
and just for fun:
"GET TO THE CHOPPA!!!!"
Posted by: carlito from golfito | January 17, 2010 at 09:42 AM
If we are going to overpay for a guy, I hope it's the FA LB from Houston. I forget his name but he is #59 and he made a lot of plays against us and was a probowler.
Posted by: tar | January 17, 2010 at 09:45 AM
Armando, he sounds like an idiot.
