Dez Bryant to Dolphins? Bwaaahhaaahhaaa

I know everyone covets a top-flight wide receiver in the coming draft to get the Dolphins offense airborne. The odds of that receiver being named Dez Bryant just became astronomical.

Forget for a moment that Bryant is supremely gifted and could be gone before Miami picks at No. 12.

Forget for a moment that Bryant missed most of the 2009 season after being suspended by the NCAA and has played only 28 college games. The Dolphins have issues with investing high picks on players with questionable backgrounds and limited experience.

But if those don't hurt Bryant's chances of landing in Miami, consider he has hired agent Eugene Parker, and that seriously affects those chances. Parker, in case you don't remember, was the agent for Michael Crabtree.

And Crabtree conducted a 2009 rookie holdout until October 7 because Parker and the San Francisco 49'ers were not agreed on the rookie's worth. The 49'ers wanted to pay Crabtree the slot price of what the No. 10 should get. Parker argued Crabtree had Top 3 talent and should be paid like it.

What do you think Miami will do if it faces a similar negotiating stance?

Here's what I think: Bill Parcells and Co. will likely avoid the issue altogether.

Hopefully we pick up a receiver in the 2nd or 3rd round that we can develop over the next few years... That way we will have a wonderful passing attack next season.. That sounds like a great idea for a team that has no real weapon in the passing game... We can build the defense which we need for sure and draft average receivers that will be great # 3 receivers and have a passing attack that stalls against the good teams.. If we don't get a real weapon at receiver we will be saying wait till next year again next season... Bank on it !!!

When you take a bottom of the barrel college player and try to develop them because they are big vs. A Player that was top 5 at a position you have created a weakness in your football team most of the time... I beleive thats why the Fins cant get a top notch playmaker at the WR. or a real LB..We need to trim the fat and pay the free agents that are play makers to fill the positions that the draft doesnt fill.. would rather have the Shippley kid than Rilley Copper.. not sure if he will be there in the second round though..

We go through this every year "Character""Character" this is not water polo or chest. This is football and you win with talent. Dolphins need talent at WR. We missed out on the many rookie WR last draft, Nicks,HeywardBey,Crabtree,Maclin,Harvin,Britt & Massaquoi. All did more in 1 year than Ted Ginn did in 3. This is going to kill us if we dont inject some anti-venum fast. So please stop the "character issue stuff" put the trigger.

"Look at the Ravens. They didn't even throw the ball yesterday and relied on the run and playing good defense. That still looks like how to win in the playoffs.
At least in the AFC"

BTW- wets are frauds

Ummmmmmmm - those "frauds" are both #1 in the running game AND in D - ahahah! enjoy! :)

I think with either Jordan Shipley or Riley Cooper we will be good to
Go. I think we should draft Jermaine gresham in the first round, Cooper or shipley in the second, and trade for a free safety and lbs. Get rid of
Ginn, bess, Camarillo, and sign cribbs. Look at money guys. Bengals paid 8 million for coles wr last year, he gave them 514 yards. We could have cribbs for half that. THINK! also trade fasano, male
Room for
Gresham.

Nj phin phan I feel ya on lb but I think ur wrong. We have NOONE to throw to, except hartline, And he's best as a three or four. Our lbs are not good, but name a worse wide receiving core. Look at the numbers man. Respectfully, and henne had a lot of yards for who he has to throw to. We shouldn't have traded for Wilson I don't like that trade at all. But, we need to trade for a great fs and linebacker. And draft another lb in the third round. Either way, with my plan or yours, u have to admit the draft leaves us short.

WE WONT GET WILFORK ..... PATS WILL FRANCHISE HIM .... SO WE MUST SIGN FERGESON FOR ANOTHER YEAR

1ST ROUND ....MCCLAIN, ILB (BAMA)

2ND ROUND ... BENN, WR ILL

3RD ROUND ... JOHNSON, OG BAMA

4TH ROUND ... ROLLE, S FSU

6TH ROUND .... GRAHAM, TE U.MIAMI

we need LB'S badly. im not sure why we wasted early round picks last year. we could have resigned goodie and taken clay matthews. anyways we could make will allen a free safety. he has corner cover skill set,can run and tackle! if we are a 3-4 defense we need LB's!!

Heat , don't bother with santo aka aloco aka cuban menace.

Went to work at 7 pm NJ....Wasnt me....

Well, now we need a new Defensive Coordinator. And people, shut-up with all the trade talk. We need to keep our draft picks.

No Earl Thomas at 12

NJ, will you be contacting your lawyer on Mandos use of "BWAAAHAAHAAHAA", I understand you have a copy-right on that word. Is that true?????

I WANT A GAME-CHANGER ON DEFENSE FIRST!!!

OK guy's now that mandos been held up at Logan airport in Mass. here's todays post, Who do you think are the four players "NOT" to be on the team next year for the Phins to improve???? Discuss....

wow im astonished with the pasqualoni firing. You kinda ate that one armando, but its ok...

With this move we can figure out that with the trifecta is capable of doing what ever in the most calm moments...

I can see crennel...

Cj Spiller. If he's there take him. with ricky shutting it down and ronnie coming off an injury , a multi threat back like spiller would be ideal. Forget about drafting a wr with first pick, they take years to develop, snag one in free agency or via trade and draft one with a later pick.

CJ the killer spiller would look great in the aqua and qrange

Menace, i can live without g.wilson, ginn, carey*, torbor, anderson, porter, ayodele...

*he´s december was absolutely terrible, some say because of back problems. It´s been like this every year...i think he should go and garner can keep that position easy.

Menace....Ginn gone,Porter pushed away,Wilson waived and last but not least....Carpenter cryin.

beerndrums - Carpenter, really?

I still believe that Ginn could be salvaged if we had a legit #1receiver to take the pressure off of him.I just don't see the trifecta going that route though. As far as Carpenter,I remember the Colts game where he missed a FG and had he made that,we would've only needed him to make one at the end instead of heaving the ball to Ginn and then trying the old Hail Mary. Also I've seen him miss some other ones, but that one still haunts me.I'm surprised more of you fans didn't raise hell about Dan after the Colts game.

Agree Beer and Lubio, Wilson and Ginn appear to be a problem, and I belive Porter has played his last game for the Phins, I see New England claimimg Joey(3rd grade education)Porter when miami releases him, who do you think joey will end up with??? Dropping that team almost 40 points in a I.Q test in the process????

Pasquoloni was fired. Maybe write a blog about that instead of leaving this story up that is a fluff piece speculating what's going to happen in 4 months. Gotta love the Herald.

At least Omar at the Sentinel is on the ball with the real news.

Heraldsucks, Go over to Omar Kooky And Harvey fiewhatever if you like the sun sentinal so much... Dont let the door hit you where the good lord split you.... Later....

Cuban Menace

I just hope Ronnie Brown is not in that group of players, but I am afraid that he might be.

Carpenter was 89%...that is not terrible and ranks pretty high amongst kickers in the league! Yes that field goal hurt in that game, but every missed field goal missed hurts. Would you rather of had Nick Folk or Shane Graham?

Dont know Carlito, Only problem with ronnie is he puts it all on the line ever play, he never takes a play off, which is why he gets injured, gotta love that in a player though, I think ronnie will be trade bait next year but i think he'll end up somewhere in the NFC though, cant see the fins trading him to a team in the AFC and Especially in the AFC-EAST.... Too bad too, the guy could be mentioned in the same breath with L.Tomlinson in my Opinion....

Giving up ronnie would be a severe drop back...hes good material, he get hurt ok...but better than when sammy morris was our top back.

About carpenter...yeah he missed FG but go out there and check out the stats, he is top-10...currently number 7 with 89.3% of FG made(missing 3 of 28 attempts...I am quite happy with him and fields(number 8 in net yards with 39.8)

I would be worried if i where under the 15th spot.

Just in case no one has seen this, I figure I would share:

http://www.miamidolphins.com/news/miami-dolphins-auction-game-worn-jerseys-charity

By the way Olindo Mare is number 3 in FAM...

http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/kicking/sort/fieldGoalPct/seasontype/2

Indy, Is there a Ted(Vertigo)Ginn side-line jersey available???

twitter.com/andilubio - number 3 in field goal attempts made? What crack you smoking?

Pasqualoni Fired

maybe he is 3rd on percentage, but Mare 2 misses, Carpenter 3 isses and Mare had 2 less atempts.

Carpenter was not our problem this year, but he does need a little stronger leg for kickoffs and 50+ field goals

I´m just going into the percentages, he is 92.3%...

Rackers is number 1 with 17 attempts only...

Yeah, you are right on that he needs to get the leg stronger, but i still think he is the right guy.

PLEASE FIRE HENNING ALSO

Price, I guess your tired of all that "Back door footbal" Huh?????

Don't get me started on BACKDOOR football again my man.

Price, What are your thoughts on The jets use of all the"Gimmick plays" the jets have been using, and what do you think of the Jets using Back-door football to advance in the play-offs????

Cuban, when i saw that I was like "whatttttttttt!!! they fricken BS about it all year and now they use it, never say never... I would of lived to see what Pace must have thought...hahaha like an ostrich!!! LOL

Crazy huh, The thing is(And I hate to admit it) Is they do it pretty good....

I posted here during the game that when Rex Ryan ran that wildcat play here was urinating on faces of Phins fans everywhere.

When a team uses it once or twice a game, like fake punt or statue of liberty play it's funny.

When it's your whole offensive game plan it makes the team and all it's fans look like h0m0's.

Out for now

Because we mastered it in the NFL. The old saying is, "if you can't beat them, join them". The Wets couldn't beat us, so they figured they would join us in the WILDCAT!

Not that there's anything wrong with that......

Mark Mcgwire used steroids????? Really??? I just can't believe it! My mind is blown! ESPN should probably talk about this for at least 2 months... Until they start Favre Watch at least.

Armando is slacking on us today. He best be out gathering a really good article/blog or 2!!!

Yeah Cuban they did it pretty well, the thing is that when they get taped a couple times is when the tough get tougher...

Indy, He was stuck ion massachutches because of weather....

Maybe I'm being a little harsh on Carpenter.I'll let him off the hook for the time being.Favre retirement party starts on Monday,January 18th.I really hate that guy.

Interesting blog:

http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/9083/ricky-williams-revists-retirement

beerndrums - Agree with you on Carpenter. If 1 of his 3 losses would not of been in that close game against the Colts it would be a mute point. Who cares about Favre. He is great, but his retirement stuff is old and should not even be worth conversation.

cuban menace - How do you know this?

Armando... your thoughts on the Pasqualoni firing?

was it justified?? i guess considering the performance we saw from his group this year. but some of the players need to be fired too!!

I'm SOOOO glad Paul got fired!!! I blogged about it yesterday just 2-3 hours before it became oficial, and most thought that the coaches were safe. I had my doubts but I wasn't thinking either of them would be fired. All we need now is for Ross to fire Henning, I hate the way he disrupts Chad's rythym on the field by putting in Pat White. And last but not least, please have them release Wilson!!!

Armando got stuck in Mass??? I wonder if he's still trying to persuade Wilfork about coming to Miami....

Indy, He's married to my cousin... us cubans are a tight group my friend....

He got in early this morning and will grace us with his Presents in a hour or two.....

Like I said, Mando is back with a new blog.....
