Free agents on display during live blog today

NEW ORLEANS -- One reason I love covering the NFL playoffs is this is where the best teams are, thus this is where the best players are.

I'm covering the Saints and the Cardinals today and some of the players I'll be watching are the ones that could be available to the Dolphins in the coming offseason via either free agency or trade.

This list of the top free agents shows today's game includes several free agents that will be restricted (assuming no collective bargaining agreement is reached). But there will be one guy -- Arizona inside linebacker Karlos Dansby that is completely unrestricted. He is the 11th rated free agent on the Scout.com list but you'll also note he is the No. 2 unrestricted free agent (players with six or more years of experience) behind only Julius Peppers of Carolina.

Another player I will try to catch up with after today's game is Arizona WR Anquan Boldin. He isn't playing today because he's injured. But he's here and on my radar. I want to ask him if he will renew his request to be traded after this season. I want to ask him his thoughts of playing for the Dolphins. As I have reported to you in the past, the Dolphins have much respect for Boldin and would consider adding him in trade if the price is right.

We'll see what happens.

Hopefully we'll see what happens together as I am conducting a live blog during the game. So join me here and we'll discuss the game with the community of thousands of Dolfans that regularly visit this blog.

Remember, the live blog begins at 4:30 p.m. ET. Follow me on twitter.

Seer, Who do you thing the NFL "Flagship" team will be since the pats are on a decline???? I believe there gonna be sucking up to the Jets because there in the same city of where the NFL has its head quarters, though I did see some sucking up to New Orleans before they dropped there last 3 games... What are your thoughts???

You know I luv you guys ;)

Wishful thinking. I am just starving for the front office to make a big play for someone. It gets tired just waiting for hit or miss guys to develop. Like Ginn, they often miss more than they hit. Parcells needs to get aggressive. That's if they are as close as some think they are to being a contender. That in itself tells me that they have a little ways to go before they contend. That is, parcells' non aggressive player pursuit. Sorry to say I think they are still a couple to 3 years away from being a "real threat".

I want to reach a point where this team is established. Where we are all on this blog laughing it up being up 45-14. How nice would that be.

Zona waves white flag by putting Leinert in the game. Ballgame!

I think Dallas and the new stadium will be the team...

PO, You sound like you've had a few Moonshine shots, could this be true??

Hartline, Camarillo, and Bess will be here next season i think we add a playmaking WR with size and decent speed and draft a guy that has great speed and can return kicks (like a johnny knox type guy)

Armando, Marvin Lewis of the Bengels NFL coack of the year! Any thought?

in 2 years we have no running backs signed up. Ricky well we all know he is done and ronnie is free and does any1 really think they sign some1 who CAN NOT stay healthy. so i wouldnt be suprised to see them take some1 early. not in the first but maybe 2nd. whats the plan

Drinkin bud light tonight, Vodka last night.

LOL @ COCO.

Okay Mando, you wanna talk serious offense??? Lets talk!!!

Problem with Miami's offense isnt necessarily that it is arcaic but rather the personell we field out there...Our receivers and TE's sucked as a group!!! Our qb's did not throw vertical enough. When we were up big (two scores or more) we became very passive.

With all that said, I believe we got the most out of we could with these overachievers!

What we need is one stud tight end and two more very high quality receivers. Hartline on a good offense would be a slot WR.

I believe if we had more high profile playmakers, we would have done better.

PS-We need to get another RB for this season! Ronnie could be limited. Ricky showed that he is more effective at this point in his career as a complimentary back, and Cobbs is recovering from a torn ACL.

We need many more playmakers on offense!!! And we need to keep the pressure on!!! Of the qb's I saw this season play for the fish, Thigpen was the only one that was playing verticle (look how easy he moved our offense downfield) and he played for only the last qtr of the season.

The worse part of watching these two games is seeing all the offensive fire power and how little we have.

"Ginn needs a lot of work". Now where did I read those exact words? Could it have been a quote this past week by a certain retired WR?

What a phoney!

OHHHH Snap, I forgot about Dallas, Here's another team that the Cuban DOES NOT WANT TO SEE IN MIAMI.... They dont have enough Cancer cream for Jerry(Liver spots) Jones.....Just saying...

Eddie,

My thoughts are much the same as yours as far as running back goes. But I think with the depth we have, Ronnie, Ricky, Cobbs, Hilliard, Sheets, that running bak won't be addressed until next year. I know all those guys either have injury concerns, age, or are still relatively unknown, but still good depth regardless.

Armando,
How did Dansby look today?
Has he played well in the NO blowout of the Cardinals thus far?

Runnin back next year, agreed.

wasnt there rumors last year brown for b edwards maybe they move him for a wr and draft a rb just a thought.

CM: for right now I see a resurgence for NOLA, esp. on Fox tonight....to tell the truth, I turned off the tv sound after 1st half......mose & goose & whoever were simply unbearable....so if they've toned it down, let me know.

The Jet suckfest comes tomorrow & could get "legs"=---The League wants NY teams to do well & be revered, and More $$$ importantly $$$, Goodell wants to help Johnson sell PSLs & tickets to the mew stadium.

I love football so much, but I hate the sports networks with a passion.

After three out of 4 lousy games last week I really wanted a competitive, dramatic game....no such luck...........hope tonight's entertaining, at least.

hey armando I read that jeff ireland said that ted ginn was coming back next year. do you think he's telling the truth?

Dolphins need alot of help on offense not just a #1 WR. They need a TE and wide recievers. I cannot take another season of Ginn. Miami needs atleats two WR. Turner did not pan out and they are still in need of a true # 1. Im Miami and I sign a guy like Bryant and try and get another WR via draft trade or FA.

So, for those you thinking Miami is one WR away dont fool yourselves.

That is just on offense do not get me started on defense. We dont even have a defensive coordinator. Guys like Wilson, Ayodele need to go. We could lose Nate Jones who is a solid player and we need help at NT, ILB, OLB, and FS

Mando, When well you be Updating your Photo ?? I mean was that from your High school??? What happens if your Kidnapped from some extremest group??? updated photo would help....Again,Just saying........

Ronnie's trade value is going to be NOWHERE near what it was last year. It sucks that he can't stay healthy, such a versatile player, and an even nicer guy. I hope he is back next year, personally.

Cacajoe , what the f are you talking about phoney ?. Po said ginn might need time at the gym with me to toughen up. i said he needs a lot of work , meaning in the dept. Get a f'n clue.

NJ,

If Ginn can't catch now, imagine him with Jelly arms

Seer, Then it's just not me, But arnt the networks Sucking up to teams??? It's just not me Right????Or should i take more Prozac????

Think Joe was talkin about Keyshawn Johnson.

Is Kurt Warner done?

Carlito , NO. Did you get my post earlier on that subject.

You probably should take more Prozac......But you are also right.

The Nets drool over certain teams repetitively & ad nauseam & out of proportion....AND they do NOT do it with all teams or even when non-favored teams ought to get a little love/

Going to the locker room guys.

Lol with Robert...I agree right on 100% Ayodele would be cool if he came off the bench...We are very far away from where we need to be. Yet if Ronnie remained healthy we probably win a game or two more so go figure.

Mando,

One of the great things about the type of offense you want to have here, the Saints are the perfect example. There defense isn't super good. But they make plays. The NO offense puts so much pressure to score on the other team. And if NO gets up 14-0 quick, it makes the opposing offense even more one dimensional. They forced so Manu turnovers because of the pressure the NO offense put on the other team. Now, we saw what Dallas did to them, by getting up early. Kept the Saints D on there heels. Arizona quit trying to run really early today. An explosive offense certainly helps the defense in that regard.

Get us a scoop Mando.

Boldin? Seriously? He will be nothing special in a Dolphins uniform. He ran a 4.7/40 at the combine, and now has knee issues and age against him. He would have been a good trade 4 years ago, but your crazy if you think Miami will deal for him now. He's a possesion receiver, which last time I checked we have too many of. The single most important thing this offense needs is a vertical tight end, and the Trifecta knows this, man.

Po , she quoted me insinuating i copied "he needs a lot of work" from keyshawn and i'm a phony when i was answering you about ginn needing a lot of work at the gym.

Sentinel I agree TE is a major area we need upgrading.

Mando,This is what I don't understand while in Dallas Parcels build a team that had a awesome line, Witten, Crayton, Glenn, TO, Julius Jones, Barber & Romo. Not to mention he had Fasano, Austin & Hurd on the team.

Opinions Armando

I don't know, i'm just gald I made a beer run NJ.

Mando, Wear protection, especially around Reggie Bush, He's been hanging around one nasty HO....AKA ???? Kardashian....Not sure what her first name is but There all whorey..from what Ive seen on TV ...... well there all Nasty...

lol @ CM

Po , bottoms up !!

lmao menace.//

You don't have to tell me twice.

This just in..... The phins not looking to the desert for there Defensive coordinator...(I hope)

lol they better not after allowing 90 points in 2 games!

Dont see anyone in the NFC going into New Orleans and beating the saints... any thoughts????Discuss....

CBS, giving there Man love to the Jets.... iam gonna puke, excuss me.........

I don't know.. Dallas is looking strong.. they seem to have a complete package these past few weeks..

at least Shannon acknowledged that Revis will have trouble against Jackson and even if he does limit him, the chargers should have too much to overpower.

I think the Jets Defense is good, but no where near as consistent as the famous ravens and tampa bay defenses that single handledly provided those teams Super Bowls..

That's right NJ, it was a direct quote from Keyshawn. I'm surprised a knowledgeable fan like you didn't know it.

Come on down and I'll show you some back country. A lot of people get lost and can't find their way back.

Yeah Lips, & the Phins beat em twice.

What does that tell ya?

Wow cacajoe , " he needs alot of work " is such an original quote. I don't think it's ever been used before. LOL ! You know exactly what and who i was talking about. You really have me trembling in my boots cyber tough Guy. Now go down to your local watering hole , lift your 12 oz beer cans , get your beer muscles on and act tough with the other local drunks. It doesn't work here in jersey. LMFAO !!!!

that they are on an 0 for 3 run against the phins. ;)

Gotta love it L.

what I wouldn't do for a young Ray Lewis...

man oh man..

i mean he still rocks, but would love to have him for 5 to 10 years.. lol
