The Combine is in full workout mode with offensive linemen running and jumping and pushing and pulling today. And of course, there is news.
Arizona Cardinals Rod Graves just made it official: Anquan Boldin in on the trade market.
"We're receptive to taking any calls," Graves said today. "I don't want to get into specifics but we're going to look at all the possibilities."
Alrightie then ...Let the Boldin to Dolphins speculation heat up.
I do not believe the Dolphins would give up a second round pick for Boldin. They probably wouldn't give up a third, either, because it's such a high pick in the round. A fourth-rounder?
Yes. That's the ticket.
The tight ends ran today. Pittsburgh's Dorin Dickerson ran a 4.40. He's a 230-pound tight end, but has wide receiver speed. The guy also has 34-inch arms and benched 225 pounds 28 times.
Miami tight end Jimmy Graham ran a 4.60. Jermaine Gresham ran a 4.76.
Something you should know is the latest report from aspiring scout Chris Cordero, who has been doing outstanding work checking out the talent in Indianapolis and reporting back to you.
According to Cordero, Mississippi running back Dexter McCluster spoke to the media today. McCluster said he had already interviewed with the Dolphins.
That's significant because the Dolphins loved McCluster at the Senior Bowl, spent a lot of time with him there, and clearly found nothing that eliminated the Mississippi WR-RB-Specialist from more scrutiny.
From Cordero:
McCluster measured in at [5081] and expects to run in the 4.3s. He will work at both RB and WR Sunday. He loves returning - especially punts - and says he is willing and able to cover punts as well.
You have to love any kid that says he's willing to get down field on special teams coverage. but when that player has been a star in the SEC that says something special. He doesn't feel entitled. He believes he has something to prove.
By the way, Rex Ryan talked to the media and took his usual swipe at the Dolphins. In talking about the the division he mentioned New England, Miami, and Buffalo. Then Ryan said, "I know Miami will be ticked because I never mention them first or put them on top, but I don't care."
On his infamous fingergate episode in South Florida during Pro Bowl week:
"Regardless of the circumstances I made a mistake," Ryan said. "I have to take responsibility for my own actions. I will learn from it."

TNPF,
So sorry,I don't know how many. BUT LOTs,AND LOTs

Sparano was recently asked what he thought about Rex Ryan and the Jets and all he did was yawn and said nothing. That should put into perspective how much the Wets concern the Dolphins but it seems that Cryan Ryan cannot stop thinking about the Dolphins....what does that tell you.
A lot of rumors about the draft and free agency right now. Even talk about Eric Berry falling to the #12pick but I highly doubt that will happen. Just so much talk and BS out there right now. I think Parcells, Sparano and Nolen will get things right when there time is ripe.
Posted by: FIN4EVER | February 27, 2010 at 04:27 PM
There will be 8 OT going in the 1st rd so the 2nd rd will be the OLBs.
Posted by: Sean | February 27, 2010 at 04:28 PM
Sean, I agree with u 100%, if we do get Dansby we wont target McClain...With the Rams contacting Tom Condon today, the agent for Jimmy Clausen I now see that as their first pick, that moves people down the board, honestly, I see Denver as the only trouble but if they trade Marshall I suspect that they will pick Dez...You gotta remember, their coach is offensive minded and believe me, he is taking a beating in Denver over the Cutler deal still, I see him going offense
Posted by: bobbyd12 | February 27, 2010 at 04:33 PM
An affordable way to get Boldin:
Swapping 1st rd picks
Then the Fins pick at 26 and see if anyone falls to them:
Dan Williams
Brandon Graham
Earl Thomas
Sergio Kindle
What is it going to cost to sign Boldin assuming a 3-4 year contract?
Sean Witherspoon

SEAN,
Good to see you back.I think, Sean, you owe me an apology, for being ugly to me and calling me A VERY SMART MAN. Can you please understand that.I'm a Kid.
Posted by: Mosi / Hawaii | February 27, 2010 at 04:37 PM
Why waste a pick on McCluster when we could sign a LOCK like Darren Sproles
Posted by: Texasphinatic | February 27, 2010 at 04:38 PM
Trading down is difficult, most teams would like to do so to get more picks. The only way for it to happen is for a player to be available that a team is in love with. The possible scenario would be the Giants if McClain is available.

6'6" 260 runs 4.57....I liked J. Graham before the combine...he's my number one TE now.
Posted by: fishypete | February 27, 2010 at 04:40 PM
Looks to see that Dickerson is growing back into a TE. He's put on about 10 lbs since the senior bowl. He will never be a #1 TE but if you can get him for a late pick 5,6 - he can be very useful as an inside WR with his skill set. Surely, if there is anyone who can stretch the seam, it's this kid. You just aren;t going to get any blocking out of him. But a nice complement to Fasano for a cheap price.
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | February 27, 2010 at 04:41 PM
Texasphinatic, I don't like McCluster at any price. He looks to frail and the hit he took in the Senior Bowl highlighted my fears about him. Jacoby Ford would be the guy I would chase in that mold.
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | February 27, 2010 at 04:42 PM
Dickerson can add weight, but he can't add height or arm length.
Posted by: fishypete | February 27, 2010 at 04:44 PM
Give Zona a 3rd for Boldin. Boldin is one of the toughest receivers i've ever seen. If he can even just mentor ted ginn to not shy away from a hit, it's worth it.
Posted by: dan from LA | February 27, 2010 at 04:51 PM
See you guys my Dad wants me to go to the market with him.I will try to get on board later. Thanks again TN.
Posted by: Mosi / Hawaii | February 27, 2010 at 04:53 PM
Fishy, if Gronkowski falls to the third i wouldnt hesitate to grab him but Graham looked good today, Dickerson way way to short and light, not a Parcells type TE
Posted by: bobbyd12 | February 27, 2010 at 04:55 PM
sorrry, but with Benn and Thomas out there in the draft Boldin isnt worth a third, forth at most and I want Boldin here
Posted by: bobbyd12 | February 27, 2010 at 04:58 PM
Mondo why waste a pick on McCluster when we could grab a lock in SPROLES! Imagine that guy in the wildcat nobody would see him not to mention him an and Teddy to slim Ginn on kickoffs I'm down with the sickness
Posted by: Texasphinatic | February 27, 2010 at 04:59 PM
Fishypete, Bobby, where I think Dickerson can add value isn't as a blocker or even a mid round pick, but let's say you can get him for a 5, 6, or even a 7. He's a guy that won't give you anything blocking, but in a 4 or gasp even 5 receiver set, he will be a major headache for linebackers or even safeties with his 4.4 speed and his 10 TDs this year at Pitt show he's also a red zone threat. I mean, you aren't going to get franchise players in those late picks but he has significant value at those late stages in the draft.
I'm not saying he's the best TE out there, heck I wouldn't even put him in my top 5, but he can be dangerous.
Posted by: Mark in Toronto | February 27, 2010 at 05:08 PM
Then again, I also want to see what nalbone can do as a receiver this year considering he has elite speed for a TE - 4.5.

With the 12th pick of the 2010 NFL draft the Miami Dolphins pick....Guard University of New Hampshire

Pitta is from BYU,
He ran a 4.63, looked relaxed, smooth and natural. Has good hands and looks Italian. You know how Parcells likes his Italian TE's.
Posted by: TNPhinFan | February 27, 2010 at 05:56 PM
BYU huh.... I guess he's 25 or 26 years old .....

What kind of draft pick would we have to give up to get Chris Cordero to run this blog? As sure as Jimmy Johnson's Johnson is bigger now that he is using Extenz, Rex Ryan is a blithering idiot... But who cares

Posted by: Mosi / Hawaii | February 27, 2010 at 06:23 PM
ky, i love ya'lls state initials. You guys have been screwed up there in Lexington on the football end for years. I really thought they would have turned it around by now though. Sorry for the jab if you are a Louisville kinda guy.
Posted by: TNPhinFan | February 27, 2010 at 06:24 PM
TNPF,
What do you mean by Tsunami Bust so far?
Posted by: Mosi / Hawaii | February 27, 2010 at 06:29 PM
Mosi, How are you Brodder, No big waves so far huh??? I think the mighty air breathers have 7.....
Posted by: cuban menace | February 27, 2010 at 06:29 PM
I live in Louisville, but only moved here a year and a half ago before that i was in detroit, but was born down in Tampa. I've always liked the dolphins and the canes (even when the canes really sucked) but that's because i use to run down to Hialeah near the horse track all the time during the 80's.
Can't understand why the college teams here can't get their football up to par with the rest of the conference.
Posted by: kyphinphan | February 27, 2010 at 06:29 PM
cuban menace,
The waves are strong right now.But check this out me and my friends are going to build a tree fort.We are to get started very soon thanks.
Posted by: Mosi / Hawaii | February 27, 2010 at 06:35 PM
Wheather the Dolphins get Boldin or Marshal or McCluster it would better our offence. We do need a saftey and a nose tackle our corners are fine sign Taylor again, and we will be fine a few more gaps to fill but I think we will be OK..
Oh yeah Rex Ryan should try to keep his mouth
shut , every time he opens it he shoves a donut in it..Thats why he was at the combine today the bakery wasn't open yet.
Posted by: ozzman1972 | February 27, 2010 at 06:35 PM
4th rd and Joey Porter for Boldin
Posted by: beerphin | February 27, 2010 at 06:36 PM
Mosi I meant that maybe the surge was not as bad as predicted... that would be a good thing. From the reports I have heard less than 2 ft rise. I hope that is still the case, as, I have not been keeping up with the goings on. It is good to hear you are doing good.
Posted by: TNPhinFan | February 27, 2010 at 06:37 PM
Ryan seems absolutely obsessed with the phins.. Man says he doesn't care but he sure ad heck brings them up a lot! If u don't care and aren't in fear u don't bring it up or keep acting like he has...Then again I probably wouldn't care that I was beat twice twice... By the team I can't stop talking about and saying I don't care about... Guy is a RATARD... And a fat one too.. And i would give a third rounder for boldin no better... Come on who can u get in the third or fourth round that will produce like boldin..chances are u won't fine anyone! Pick him up Trifecta!
Posted by: Cfphinfan | February 27, 2010 at 06:38 PM
Dolphins 2

Rex Ryan is a RATARD! And he's a fat one!! If he doesn't care about us he sure talks about us an awful lot... Oh right he hasn't even beat this team he says he doesn't care about and can't stop talking about..RATARD!
Posted by: Cfphinfan | February 27, 2010 at 06:40 PM
I'm hoping we get Mike Lupati We'd be set at NT and OG the guy is a beast
Posted by: beerphin | February 27, 2010 at 06:40 PM
Long way to go before we know anything. Its going to be interesting to see if Miami will make serious efforts at free agency this season... I still say they wait 1 more year to start adding the sprinkles on top the cake. There are way to many holes in the Front lines and Line Backer Corps. MAYBE Dansby will get grabbed... but the only receiver Miami is going to throw picks at will be next year. They may pay to get A. Bryant from Tampa... but I doubt it will have anything to do with draft picks... Miami does not give those away. Miami will draft a receiver in the 2nd or 3rd.
