Well, you saw the long and unimpressive list of unrestricted free agents that could hit the market once free agency begins March 5. That list is unimpressive because it lacks the younger, in-their-prime group of players that typically become free agents every spring -- the guys with four or five years of experience with expiring contracts.
If there is no new collective bargaining agreement by March 5 and the NFL goes to an uncapped year, players must have at least six credited NFL seasons to be considered unrestricted free agents. Fewer than six credited seasons and a player is restricted.
What follows are the more than 200 players with four or five credited season who will be restricted, rather than unrestricted, if 2010 is uncapped.

cobra kai - I was just trying to help. There not a problem English is not your first language, so that's why I offered a website to help. Nothing racial was stated.
Superior football knowledge huh? Don't you have to actually say something football related to have knowledge? I have not seen you type anything football related all day. I could care less how much you know or don't know about football as long as you discuss football realted things on a football blog...

Well said Indiana Dolfan.
Posted by: Captain Ace | February 18, 2010 at 05:00 PM
It's pretty funny how we are all Dolphin fans here, and it always seems to turn into a contest of who knows more.. Indiana,I hear what you're saying. It makes sense, and you might have a point, but thats a tough one to sell.. Also, mark, I agree with you 100%.. If I could chose only 1 roster move to happen, it would be for us to get V.Wilfork.. Not gonna happen, i know, but its almost a wet dream to think about
Posted by: AZ Phinatic | February 18, 2010 at 05:00 PM
cobra kai - I never said I was impersonated. I just know it happens on here, so going forward it will not be able to happen to me. Is there something wrong with that Mr. I Know Nothing About Football (a.k.a. "cobra kai") because you never discuss football topics?
Posted by: Indiana Dolfan | February 18, 2010 at 05:02 PM
good post Captain Ace
Posted by: Illinois Dolfan | February 18, 2010 at 05:03 PM
AZ Phinatic I know it has been hard to sell cause some people (NJ) can't get it through this/her thick skull. Only reason I bring it up is because it gets him riled up EVERY TIME!! I could care less who knows more than one person or the other. Most of the talk is all opinions asnyways. I'm here to discuss football and that is it. If someone knows more than me congrats. If people (cobra) want to come and never talk football, go somewhere else!!
Posted by: Indiana Dolfan | February 18, 2010 at 05:04 PM
When I discuss football I prove you wrong and make you look like donkey. You really want to go back to that?
Posted by: cobra kai | February 18, 2010 at 05:05 PM
Maybe the Patriots dont resign Wilfork. Who knows. After all, they did draft Ron Brace in the 2nd last season. Wishful thinking i know...
Posted by: Mark | February 18, 2010 at 05:05 PM
YES i do want you to prove me wrong...at least its football talk in which I never hear or see you discuss. I'm not here to try to prove people wrong, I'm here to discuss football
Posted by: Indiana Dolfan | February 18, 2010 at 05:06 PM
I'm out ladies and gentlemen...

"it always seems to turn into a contest of who knows more.."
AZ, I completely agree. I have said it before that it always seems to turn into a measuring contest if you get my drift. I have no doubt there are a number of people who read but are leery about posting because they don't want to get ripped for not being as knowlegable as some of the other posters.
"Perspective" is a good example of getting ripped for not knowing something. He even mentioned before hand that he didn't know and still got ripped.
Wilfork would be nice but it's a pretty sure bet Belicheat won't let that happen.
Posted by: I AM ALWAYS... | February 18, 2010 at 05:07 PM
Maybe the Patriots dont resign Wilfork. Who knows. After all they did draft Ron Brace in the 2nd round last year. Wishful thinking i know...

Miami's Defense was Horrid last year, look for picks 1,2 and 3 to be defense....
Posted by: cuban menace | February 18, 2010 at 05:09 PM
The first thing I want to say is hello to some of my friends out there. Hello to you Rob, Cuban, ALoco and now my new friend Illinois Dolfan. We are all big fans of the Dolphins and it is not a crime if someone has more football knowledge than others. Of course, I do have football knowledge and I look forward to healthy conversations regarding our Dolphins. In closing, I would like to say Captain Ace is present!
Posted by: Captain Ace | February 18, 2010 at 05:09 PM
hello cuban menace you have honor and a discipline
Posted by: cobra kai | February 18, 2010 at 05:10 PM
perspective, thought that would help. I think it they need to re-think some of these restrictions. Either that or take the 'free' out of free agent.
Posted by: cocoajoe | February 18, 2010 at 05:10 PM
CoCo, Nothing is really free bro......
Posted by: cuban menace | February 18, 2010 at 05:14 PM
Anybody read Bucky Brooks new Mock Draft 2.0 on NFL.com??? He has Tampa Bay taking John Paul Pierre with their top pick and Berry falling to 13 with Sergio Kindle to Dolphins while McClain falls to the Giants at 15...somebody please tell me gow the NFL let's this guy write for them??? I like Paul-Pierre but a top 5 pick???
Posted by: bobbyd12 | February 18, 2010 at 05:15 PM
bobbyd12,
I take it if Berry is available when Miami picks,he's the one yeah? Dont know much about Draft prospects but he's the real deal is'nt he?
Posted by: Mark | February 18, 2010 at 05:18 PM
I'm surprised more people arent talking about Kindle.. Hes awesome, and is definately the best OLB in the Draft.. He was just as good as B.Orapko was at Texas last year. I also heard that Parcells has known Kindle for a few years, and is very fond of him on a personal level, so I wouldnt be upset or surprised if we took him.. If anyone hasnt seen him much, check out some youtube vids of him.. He's a monster.. And he can cover too!!

My new friend,INDIANA DOLFAN.

Yeah I know cuban, just a comment on pics going to teams for FAs. That's the reason why all those players won't be going to other teams.
Posted by: cocoajoe | February 18, 2010 at 05:25 PM
I am laugh out louds at whoever posting as Indiana in blue! It is not me but wish it was!

Mark, I can't tell you anything about Berry, I have no clue about the kid but what I've read, but I'm just shocked that anyone would think Paul Pierre is a top 5...big kid, big numbers but a major project coming from a small school South Florida....

Brought over from other thread...
I know I am not gonna change a died in the wool, McClain is the best, hands down, no two ways about it type of person.
I just want people that are open minded and not dead set on their final call of talent to take a look at ACTUAL FOOTAGE that they can isolate in on him and then judge for themselves.

If you watch em and see domination I hope McClain is your favorite choice, no problem.
Bootang25 did and he saw "some" of what was being said negatively about McClain. I respect him for watching them. He is not diving off the McClain bandwagon but, I think he's not gonna run around saying "your crazy" if they are not in love with him as a sure fire Pro Bowl player or the next Pat Willis.
Cheers,

NJ has raved about this kid Paul Pierre but I would be interested in his take on him as a top pick
Posted by: bobbyd12 | February 18, 2010 at 05:34 PM
Is'nt Pierre Paul the guy that had 1 really good season and that everyone seems to think he might be a one season wonder? If so,why would anyone take him as early as 5? Big risk.

bobbyd12,
Mayock had Pierre Paul #1 on his list of top 5 DE's on the screen crawl I saw on NFLN.
I am like you he did how much damage? Over what period of time? From what school?
Good physical triangle numbers prospect with upside...dang sure not gonna put him #1. Yet there he was from another talking head that reviews lots of tape so ??
The evaluation process cracks me up sometimes.
Cheers,

Ron in OC, gonna tell u the same thing, u can't provide ONE article, opinion or anything else from an NFL scout or someone in the know that says Rolando McClain isn't the number ONE linebacker out there...ur opinion, my opinion don't mean SH"T...If we take anyone but McClain, if he's available at 12, we are taking SECOND best, and that's the opinion of NFL people that actually MATTER...and if we take someone else and they get injured or don't perform this organization takes a major hit from everyone....Rolondo McClain IS THE BEST LINEBACKER in this draft, and that is the CONSENSUS among NFL people not so You Tube blogger from Australia

Mark, Yes I belive he just recently started playing football! And he is supposed to be really raw. A big time talent, but a big-time project.. Kind of like Okoye was for the Texans. Also, what does everyone want us to do at the WR position? Everyone is talking about what we do with the #12pick, which is obviously going to be Defense.. but what about a wr? We cant go into next season without one

I wouldn't trade a cheerleader for Joey Porter talk real football just don't respond to hoossier stupidity

Rob In OC, screwed up that last line but you get my point, if we don't take the BEST this organization takes a beating, and so does Parcells reputation...you, me and everyome elses opinions don't matter, were just fans on a blog yelling at each other...

AZ Phinatic,
Im probably gonna get slated for this but i really would like Miami to pick Arrelious Benn in the 2nd (if available). Dez Bryant wont be the pick in the 1st,just cant see it but there are some very good WR's in the 2nd i think we could pick.
Another option is Boldin, although giving up a 3rd could be painful or failing that,Antonio Bryant would be the better option
Posted by: Mark | February 18, 2010 at 05:49 PM
AzPhinatic, until March 5th comes around there will not be much done with a WR...personally the only reasonable option is Boldin in my eyes...If not then Parcells brings in a bunch of guys who get cut or not drafted and the best one wins OR Patrick Turner contributes...just don't know
Posted by: bobbyd12 | February 18, 2010 at 05:49 PM
Antonio Bryant sucks. You guys don't know anything. He's inconsistent, a pain in the butt and often injured.
Otherwise he's great.

I live in Phoenix, and I definately say we go after Boldin if we can get him for a 3rd. I'd rather have a proven Pro Bowler in his prime then use a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a wr who could easily turn out to be P.Turner... At this point, I think we go "sure thing" at the WR position.. No more F'ing around.. Get Boldin!!!

Antonio Bryant did put up numbers we have'nt seen in Miami for decades though FLPD LOL.!!

bobbyd,
So you are actually of the belief that the REAL NFL Scouts (it being their job and livelyhood) and GMs like Parcells and Polian as well as Talented evaluators like Ireland SHARE their actual REAL opinions of who is #1 on their actual boards?????
Are you for real?
"Yeah, Hi Trey Wingo...This is Bill Parcell's down at Fins HQ, How are you today?" "I was just calling to discuss my real thoughts on our draft board and how you guys in the media have it all jacked up" "Yeah, you need to put Wetherspoon #1... Ok, thanks!" "Bub-bye"
(shakes head) That's probably how it sounds so that way Bill can make sure you are pulling accurate info off of your favorite site.
Sure thing... Cheers,

Mark, ur right, ur gonna get SH"t for that post LOL..question, if let's say Dan Williams is our 12th pick, 2nd is Benn, where do we find linebackers that we need to start?? OR We grab McClain at 12, Benn at 2, where do we solve NT?? Right now at this point in time we can grab both a quality NT and linebacker with picks one and two, we can't if we use the second on Benn...ur thoughts??

Rob, I also was underwhelmed by the videos. I have to take what I read and hear because I do not watch a lot of college ball and seeing as I feel we need ILB desperately I support McClain being the pick, but your perspective along with Marcus's whose opinion I respect having read his stuff on the SS blog for quite a while now has given me doubt.
That being said, these videos are a small sampling of his overall work and I know NJ knows his stuff too. The overwhelming consensus is that McClain is pretty much a can't miss so even though I agree that he doesn’t pop out on the videos you posted I am still going with the majority on this one :)
