Dolphins watch Arrelious Benn's impressive Pro Day

The wide receiver hungry Dolphins were on the Illinois campus over the weekend looking at a possible draft pick in the same place they found last year's first round pick in cornerback Vontae Davis.

The Dolphins had wide receiver coach Karl Dorrell on hand as to time, test, and talk to Arrelious Benn.

It was a good Pro Day for Benn by all accounts, as he ran a 4.42 and 4.40 on some watches but was timed as low as 4.38 on some stopwatches.

Benn also had a 37-inch vertical leap at 6-1 and 218 pounds).

Benn is at worst the 4th best YAC guy in the draft. I personally think he is the 2nd best behind Tate.

Benn will more than likely be gone by are second pick. I like Benn but not enough to reach for him with the 12th. At least we are looking at one of the top WR in the draft, which I hope means we are serious about upgrading the position.

yeah I wouldn't take Benn at #12. But if a trade down develops he'd be a nice option. And yeah, he's not going to be there at #43.

OUR FREEDOM WAS TAKEN AFTER BUSH AND HIS FRIENDS STOLE THE PRESIDENCY AND BLEW UP THE TOWERS THEN TOOK US TO WAR WITH IRAQ FOR NO REASON......

Hey Justin WTF is this? You forgot to mention chemtrails too. Please lay off the drugs man.

This only makes sense if we are gonna trade out of the 12th pick, hmmm.....

Don't forget the FEMA camps bro.

i'm with the 9/11 point...but i do try to distance myself when FEMA camps start getting mentioned.

Standley23 agree. Benn will be gone by the time the phins 2nd pick is due.

at times i remember Tony Martin looking good enough to get a big contract from San Diego. And remember every other WR that played with Marino looking like a good WR while they played with him. Sure would be nice to have another QB that could make average WRs look good. Wouldn't have to try to trade for the big name WR or draft a 1st rounder at the position.

Where is Benn Projected to get drafted? Also, WTF is up with Ronnie Brown getting a DUI. I like the guy as a player, but D@MN it is stupid for any professional player from any sport to get DUI's. They make enough money for a cab and/or a personal driver.

C'MON MAN!!

1) WEATHERSPOON
2) D.Thomas WR
3) The Georgia Safety
4) Cam Thomas
5) J. Graham TE

Some drafts have Benn going in the top part of the 2nd round right before we pick

Standley23 - Interesting!! I also assume Vontae will have a opinion on him since he went up against him in practice every day for a few years...

I have seen mocks where Benn goes at 33 to the Rams, 35 to Tampon Bay, and as early to the Bengals. Hard to say where this kid is gonna land.

Early as 21 to the Bangles

LMFAO @ "Tampon Bay" comment from standley23

Report: Smiley is on the trade block

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on March 22, 2010 10:03 AM ET

The addition of Richie Incognito in Miami means a subtraction is coming on the Dolphins offensive line.

Edgar Thompson of the Palm Beach Post reports guard Justin Smiley has been told to stay away from the team's offseason conditioning program because the team plans to trade him.

Smiley got $9 million guaranteed to sign with Miami in 2008, but hasn't lived up to expectations and has struggled to stay healthy. Still, Smiley is only 28 years old and has started 73 games in his six year career. There should be a market for him.

The News
Dez Bryant reportedly attended a Friday workout hosted by former NFL defensive back Pacman Jones, according to NFL.com

This Dez Bryant character is making a dumb move after dumb move. WTF is he thinking??

Greg Olsen seems to be on the trading block still. Who thinks he would fit well in Miami? I actually think it wouldn't be a bad move. He is a big target at tight end and has good hands IMO

Dear Mr. Salguero

This is what I learned from viewer response regarding your article "Dolphins watch Arrelious Benn's impressive Pro Day"

Ronnie Brown should not go out drinking dressed as a Black man.

President Obama doesn't like sick people.
Some healthy people dont like President Obama.

Quick question about the draft.

What is the NFL's return policy for a busted draft pick ?

Say if I go to Home Depot and buy a lawn mower.
I just paid like a Gazillion dollors for whats suposed to be a top of the line mower.

But when I get home I find it to be slow, the catch bag keeps dropping the cut grass and your new mower is constantly outperformed by the push behind mower that was already in the garage.

Does Roger Goodell exchange these busted draft picks for one's that work ?

Just makes good business sense.

Soiled :)

Indiana Dolfan, Olsen will stay on the trading block until at least after the draft. Too many good pass catching prospects in the draft this year. And some of them can actually block unlike Olsen.

So then what's smiley worth? 3,4 or 5th rounder?

DRIVING WHILE BLACK RONNIE. THAT SUCKS. YOU HAVE TO PUT ON YOUR GAME FACE WHEN YOU GET PULLED OVER. I'LL HELP YOU OUT. STOP SMILING SHI+s NOT ALWAYS FUNNY. WHITE PEOPLE LOVE TO BE IN CONTROL SO YES and NO SIRS MAKES THEM FEEL LIKE SLAVE MASTERS AGAIN. THEY LIKE THAT. Posted by: JUSTIN CREDIBLE | March 22, 2010 at 06:36 AM

While, I'm on board with you in regards to B. Marshall... You're way off base with the White man BS!!!

Just because Ronnie got pulled over doesn’t mean it’s because he’s black!!!! How the F%&K do you know?!?

Quit stereotyping, your just adding fuel to the fire of discrimination.

Go Fins!

Alright CM, I am a big fan of Ronnie Brown.I love what he brings to the table on gameday...when he is healthy!I think we need more insurance at the RB position.I don't think we can get a RB in the draft this year as we have too many other needs. Also for the record I am not concerned with the DUI at the moment as I believe it is out of character for Ronnie altogether(nobody's perfect).

Cuban Menance and Po white Trash can both suck my dik!

He would be a nice fit.

Do you guys need more evidence that we are drafting a receiver with either or 1st and 2nd. We are committed to drafting a receiver that's why we have showed no interest in going after a free agent wideout. It has nothing to do with parcells not valuing a wr or not wanting a wr, its that they see great value in the wr in the draft. This draft is full of top notch talent may it be Dez Bryant to Mike Williams. A big time wideout is coming via draft.

i SAY Benn would be perfect for the dolphins. 1st round get McClain/Dez/E thomas. 2nd round trade up to get BENN!

benn could be the Pharvin of this years drraft and be gone late 1st rd. he is a no good pick at 12 becuz theres too much talent on board as we saw was mistake with ginn
