No rest when Dolphins are planning, working

I'm trying to take a day off but my phone was buzzing with a handful of texts on the Dolphins possibly making some moves in the coming hours or days. The name most prominently mentioned in the "rumors" is Ronnie Brown.

Not a surprise. But I assure you, nothing is happening right now.

Funny how the Justin Smiley trade talk has died down.

That doesn't mean something won't happen. As I wrote in my column for The Miami Herald print edition, the coming week will be a busy one indeed for the Dolphins. Come to think of it, it might be the most busy week of roster activity in team history.

Check out the reasons I say that.

Last week was also quite a blast as the Dolphins added wide receiver Brandon Marshall. It's a good thing when the Dolphins make a move that have ripple effects throughout the league.

Adding Marshall resonated throughout the AFC East, including in New York where Darrelle Revis plays. Revis is the best cornerback in the NFL right now, just slightly better than Nmandi Asomugha. If you read this blog or follow me on twitter you know that Marshall reacted to playing Revis twice a year, asking "Where is Revis Island?"

Well, Revis also has thoughts on Marshall.

"It really doesn’t matter to me," Revis said when asked his reaction of Marshall coming to the AFC East. "You see it, people text you, people tweet you, so it’s well-known what’s out there. It’s just another thing where a big-time receiver is in the AFC East. It’s good for [the Dolphins]. They needed a big-time receiver and I get to play against him twice.

So does Revis relish playing Marshall twice a year?

"I love competition," he said. "That’s what I do, I compete no matter who steps up and no matter who comes into this division.’’

Bobby12 has the right Idea, I to must partake in Alco-bevs, so you kids play nice while the adults are out......AND NO MORE THEN 1 HOUR ON THE COMPUTER AND THEN STRIGHT TO BED........

where and when will the draft be televised?

NFL.com are showing the entire draft i believe. Starts Thursday evening @ 19:30 (US time)

Don't rule out mcclain based on the dansby signing
Mcclain is a very versatile lb, and probably the best all around lb
If he is drafted te fins can move him outside (wake would be the wolb) and play dansby and crowder inside
If he plays outside, he will probably play move inside within 2 years. The 1st round pick is a long term investment not just about this season

Or alterntively he can play inside with dansby and fins can resign jason Taylor or/and draft a olb later (like sapp or even worlids). In this scenario I think crowder goes on the tree block

I think we leave he draft with 2 lbs (atleast) the big question is how early we add those lbs

There is a lot up in the air with our lb unit. Mcclain allows for the moat flexibility to get our best players on the field

I think a lb unit with wake, mcclain and dansby might be somehog very special

Thanks Mark. Ar you the Mark in England?

Tnfinfan,

Yep, I also thought it was interesting that its only about 12 million guaranteed for Marshall

Yeah buddy,i'm from England. Over here, they're showing the Draft on ESPN so i'll be glued to it.

if they draft mcclain

they should move crowder back outside

I miss the Ted Ginn jokes...

Just for old times:

Drop it like its hot

Teacup Teddy

Gutless Ginn

Hands of stone, feet of clay

I feel better

I'm just a loser who doesn't know whaat he's talking about. You guys should listen to Home he had Dansby and Marshall coming before everybody else.

Mark, what is the general consensus over there of the states moving towards a socialized medicine?

Which Soccer Club do you follow? I kinda like Manchester United.

Carlito, what kinda of joke can you come up with about ginn being replaced by BM. I know there is on in there somewhere I just can't seem to get it out.

TNPhinFan,

So you're a Man Utd fan eh? I wish my team had a quarter of the silverware you boys have.

Please dont laugh but i'm a Watford fan :(

Not even in the same league literally

Is that the same home who predicted miami would be in the super bowl this past year and thought patrick turner was the real deal and a pro bowl player after the mini camps ?? Let him him jackoff to his chemtrails. Home know nothing.

Please keep Ronnie Brown.

Ronnie is the x factor to or offense, he keeps linebackers off balance, when we run the wildcat.

boulderfinfan,

if 3rd in supplemental is correct, then you are right on the money ... nothing less than a 2nd (and hopefully an early second). 3rd is worthless because we lose him for the upcoming season. I feel torn about this idea and topic. when ronnie touches the ball you know he's gonna get his yards.

**********DO NOT TRADE RONNIE BROWN***********

**********DO NOT TRADE RONNIE BROWN***********

DN NOT TRADE RONNIE BROWN FOR A FUTURE BUST .

**********DO NOT TRADE RONNIE BROWN***********

DONT TRADE RONNIE BROWN FOR A FUTURE BUST .WE HAVE ENOUGH BUSTS ,

mark I geww Manchester is preety much my stand. I started following them because of my youngest trainer. I coach and Referee, but, never got to play. Boy do I ever need a trainer for the boys, anyways I like the Arsenal too. That is our kids Team name and only because they were the only Abroad teams name I new for sure. Anyway next to American Football Futball is a very fun sport.

Are the English leagues going now. I have not kept up with them this year.

good night everyone.

Trade R. Brown and J. Smiley to Detroit for pick #34 and a late round pick next year (5-7 rd.). Then hope Spiller is there at #12. Trade down from #12 to #20 with Houston so they can take Spiller and The Dolphins get a second #2. At #20 the Dolphins take R. Mathews a faster version of a Parcells favorite C. Martin.

Heat and Celtics playing a good game tonight

IT'S A TIE AT 31

CARLITO,

HOW IS YOUR LOVE LIFE GOING ?

ronnie brown is gone. the only reason they used the wild cat was because they didn't have a passing game. now they can run the ball, smash mouth style and set up the deep threat with BM.

Lol @ Aloco

**********DO NOT TRADE RONNIE BROWN***********

HOW YOU KNOW ALL THAT IS GOING TO WORK MR GOLPIN 77 , A MAGIC >??????????

To be honest TNPhinFan,i'm getting alittle bit bored with football, sorry, soccer (lol) over here cus the players are pus$ys and its very predictable.

I love the NFL more than anything. Just wish they promoted it more on TV but they dont.

It's always nice to chat with fellow Dolphins fans on here cus as you can imagine, trying to find another Fin fan in England is almost impossible :(

I like to get my salad tossed and i looooove big hairy balz.

I REPEAT, DON'T TRADE THE BEST RB WE EVER HAD, HE STILL YOUNG AND DOES WELL W/BALL .PLEASE SPARE US ANOTHER CRAPPY BUST DRAFT PICK .

Laters TNPhinFan

Nice chatting with ya fella.

We'll catch up tomorrow maybe.....

And roll on the Draft.....:)

Mike Mayock has Earl Thomas going at No6 and ranked higher than Eric Berry.

I dont see the TRIFECTA doing anything more on the OFFENCE at all except for TE in this draft period...until very late in the draft

Why would they?

The WR set up is 100% where it should be and so is the RB sitaution.( Yes next year it will need to be tweaked but not now).

I would NOT have traded GINN...I think he was valuable...very very valuable...
If you look at how many TD's he "could" have scored if it wasnt for DUMB penalties and his elite kick returning ability, you will see that actually he is very capable indeed..he could easily have had another 4 TD's this year...which would then have made him quite good.Remember he didnt spend a lot of time on the field...a 5th rounder is poor in my view..There are many otehr players that need to go before Ginn like Haynos,Nalbone, Smiley and McDaniels...add Charlie Anderson too...

We should DEFINITLY keep Ronnie Brown...didnt we LOSE the last 3 games of the year when he was injured???...He was by far our BEST offensive weapon...and he has at least 4 good years left in him...he is smsrt and has leadership written all over him....next year he will be even better...He is NOT injury prone...this is not a soft tissue injury...anyone can have these injuries....he is tough as nails...

I say draft a RB somewhere low....Hillirad is mediocre at best and is limited...Cobbs needs to do way more when he is back playing...lets ee some elite play from him...

DO NOT trade Ronnie Brown..sign him for another contract and stop jerking around with it...

"If it aint broke...dont fix it"...applies here...

Aloco one can never have enough busts...if u know what I mean.

Hey what is your movie of the night?

vv

with Ronnie Brown's injury history, I don't see the Dolphins getting more than a 3rd rounder back, if we're very lucky. RB just isn't a position where you need to spend a 1st or 2nd to get a decent one, so I just don't see Detroit sending theirs to us for Brown straight up. Also, we don't have a good wildcat triggerman ready to step in without Ronnie.

DO NOT TRADE RONNIE!!! PLEASE!!!

The team must really like Hilliard if they are looking to trade Ronnie. I know Ronnie is hurt on and off and it's the last year of his contract; but he is a weapon and opposing coaches fear and praise him (ask sexy rexy and belicheat). If it's not the 34th pick - I don't trade him.

Just like I would have liked to have seen Ginn with Marshall - I would like to see Ronnie and Ricky with Marshall.

Bigalfy is right.
Ted Ginn had 1300 return yards + almost 500 rec yards = 1800 total yards.
The most on the team.
In 3 seasons his QB's were:Cleo Lemon, Jon Beck, Chad Penington and Henne.

If we keep Thigpen then White gets moved into the offense and become the kr: I can live with that.

I am really confused about who the fins are looking at drafting. I think it would be a mistake to draft Williams at 12. I wonder if Dez Bryant falls to 12 if the steelers will trade with the fins. That way they go to 18 and get a 3rd. They can still get really good value at 18. I'm not sure about JPP or Kindle. I still think that Earl Thomas should be the pick and the fins somehow get into the 2nd round and get a olb. But hey what do I know! Has anyone heard any news on Justin Smiley I wonder if they are still looking to trade him.

Hey mando want some crow?

I've gone on and on in this blog about how the 3 stooges have depleted the defense so much and I still believe that.

However now that Stephen Ross went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Marshall trade I expect the pick to be LUPATI.

1FS, 3 LB's + 1 NT have to be drafted and are going to be on the team no matter how good or bad they are. What difference will it make if one is at #12 and the rest are past 100?

Long, Incogs, Grove, Lupati, Carey: That is a f u c k i n g O-Line. That's time to throw and holes that even Pat White could run through.

hey Price, how about i give you a mouthful on the couch you brainless fool??

yes i post under NJ name, so what?? i am a fake and a worthless piece of shyt lowlife who has no life but to make fun of others

NJ what's the problem?

according to chris mortensen espn, dolphins are interested in osi unemyiora.

this is the same guy who predicted the dolphins would trade for marshall.

osi is the guy who killed the pats in the super bowl

NJ Bonesmoker,
Check the archives: I was the one that said it's smarter to trade for Marshall than draft Dez. That was 18 hours before Stephen Ross did it.
If you think it was the three stooges that traded for Marshall and put Ginn and Brown up for trade then you are the stupid a s s h o l e.
If the 3 stooges wanted to trade those 2 then why did they wait until 10 days before hte draft and not announce it right after the season ended huh genius?
And since Brown's only productive in the wildcat then if they are hgetting rid of Brown they are not running the wildcat anymore so why give Penny $2.5mil; his only value is that he is willing to run off the field for the wildcat.
Also you f u c k i n g moron the depth chart is short 3 lb's + fs + nt so how can the Phins not draft those players and they automatically make the team? Because they're gonna be pushed by the undrafted free agents.
I should f u c k i n g kill you right now.

So, following NYScott's line of thinking, we should lose every focking game so we get the first pick in the draft; we're not winning the Superbowl this year anyway.

Is NYScott on the set?

Turdmeister stepen ross traded for marshall, that statement proves you are the stupidest h0m0 here...a monkey or donbkey knows more then you
