Jason Taylor visiting with Jets today

Jason Taylor boarded a 7 a.m. plane to New York today. He is visiting the New York Jets as an unrestricted free agent, according to his agent Gary Wichard.

"I pushed him up there," Wichard just told me. "I twisted his arm. He loves the fans in Miami and he gave up $8 million last year to play in front of fans. I am the one to push him to go up there because I don't know what will be available to on April 23 or 25th or whatever."

According to Wichard, Ryan started calling, trying to get Taylor signed the same day they lost kicker Jay Feeley to Arizona in free agency. The Jets are a Final 4 team and can add unrestricted free agents when they lose unrestricted free agents.

"How do you say no to Rex Ryan? Wichard said. "You got to listen to him. I cannot explain to you how much Rex wants him up there."

Wichard said Taylor would probably not sign a contract while he's on the visit.

"He's going to hear, feel and touch the situation, and then we'll meet to decide what happens next," Wichard said.

Taylor's schedule is to be up in New York today and Thursday. He is traveling with his wife, Katina.

Hennesey ALOCO

Kris,

Was it Peazy and Roth?

What's the point?

Aloco cut on me and coco saying it's no news.
Then he compliments you for posting this ancient crap that has no relevancy?

What planet are you two nimrods from?

This is a lot to do about nothing. I love Taylor, but frankly his best days are long gone. The Dolphins realize this, that's why they're not breaking down the door to sign him. Our OLB play last year was horrendous, it's time to move on with younger players. They have fresh legs and can hold up better than a 36 year old. Jason couldn't stop the run last year and really can't cover anybody, it just does not make sense to keep him when we're trying to rebuild this awful defense. If he goes to the Jets we should all wish him well and move on, this has nothing to do with him being a traitor or Parcels not being loyal. This is business as usual in the NFL so everybody should just get over it. Grow up people, there are bigger problems in the world.

This discussion is ancient Odinseye. But its what where talkin bout now.

ANY ONE KNOWS IF THE CUBAN IS MARRIED ?

CARLITO.....WHERE ARE YOU , THE BEST ON THIS BLOG .

CONSIDER ME YOUR FRIEND KRIS,YOU ALWAYS WELCOME BUDDY .

THE BIGGEST DOLPHINS FAN says there are bigger problems in the world. REALLY?!

Thanks for the lecture

I have been away with no access to Dolphins news for a couple days, and this what I come home to?

all people, how did Parcell's let his team get so weak at LB?

Posted by: odinseye | April 07, 2010 at 07:16 PM

Odin, Kinda like how did the pope let so many Pedophiles into the Catholic church...Just doesn't make sense....

Altair 4, it's a nice place but watch out for the Alturians. They have short tempers.

JT is dead to me if he sign with Jets and will never have been Dolphins in my mind!

I JUST READ THE ARTICLE AND HIS AGENT SAID ( HE GOT TO FEEL AND TOUCH THE SITUATION ) . MY AZZZZZZZZZZZ

I don't care if the Dolphins sign JT or not, but for him to go to Jets is unforgivable... He even said himself many times, of all the teams in the league he could never be a Jet and hates their fans...

If he sign with them now, he is in Nick Saban's company

YOU SEE CARLITO'S ENTRANCE IS SOME THING .

THAT'S A GOOD COMPANY CARLITO .......JT AND NICK SABAN .

Taylor shouldn't be that big a deal. Unfortunately he is, but only because Team Tuna got themselves between a rock and a hard place.
I personally expected quite a bit more from the mighty Trifecta. Their teetering on the edge and allowing a 36 year old washed up LB to be the best option they have.......well......this just might be the straw that breaks the honeymooner's back.

I've got a razor sharp pitchfork and some molotov cocktails, what time does the party start?

To me this also seem like JT and his agent maybe trying to get a bigger contract out of the Dolphins... If he sign with the Jets, JT is dead to me

I came to this blog many months ago with this motto.

RESPECT THE PAST AND EMBRACE THE FUTURE

some of you have actually used it from time to time and made me proud.

The time will come when we all honor JT in his HALL OF FAME induction and then into the dolphins RING OF HONOR and i'm sure at many monday night football games...but that time is later. For now it is time to find the next Jason Taylor or Zack Thomas or the next ORIGINAL.

Cocojoe.... Thanks for your reply. I certainly agree with you concerning the patients level of our fans. And, having been so far removed from a SB win I can certainly understand why. I would be more sympathetic to being impatient if these guys would have come into Miami with a team that was a 8-8 or 7-9 team... what they got was a 1-15 mess. Personally... I said 5 years... 5 years to get to where we want to be. I do believe this...I believe at least making a wild card appearance is a reasonable request... if they fail to do that... we may have problems... Once again... thanks, Joe.

This discussion is ancient Odinseye. But its what where talkin bout now.

You're a DucheBag Kris. YOU brought up two LB's from our 11-5 season that are no longer on the team. Sober up Biotch!!!!

I thnk I got some MIDOL cause u really sound like ur PMSing

Men don't use midol, thanks for offering you POOOSY!!!!

I have no allies or friends on this BLOG.

No surprise there.

I only care to discuss football in an intelligent manner

Guess you're out of luck there. You and intelligence have obviously went there seperate ways.

Keep dreaming about that 11-5 season Homer!!!!

Ok guys, till tommarrow, Have a "PHINTASTIC" nite........

To me this also seem like JT and his agent maybe trying to get a bigger contract out of the Dolphins... If he sign with the Jets, JT is dead to me

Are all the Golfitians this stupid? Is it the drinking water or a genetic defect?

Cuban,

Those low life hipocrits actually had the nerve to call me a PAGAN!!!!

Just read a tweet where JT and Rex have left to go out for Dinner.... How quaint... I hope Rex chokes on his salad.

You're cutting on my comeback and THIS is all you got?
Why am I not surprised?

Thanks Bill, all we care about is a solid team that needs a tweak every so often but not in constant turmoil. Is that so much to ask?

Who or what the Hell are you talking about?
How have I took pride in having a "blog friend"?
Dude if you can't even be coherent STFU, Sober up and try again tomorrow.

Cocoajoe,

Look at what Parcells has done at every turn. 2 SB with the Giants. One with a back up QB. SB loss woth the patriots, jets to the AFC championship game (and they didn't back in), Cowboys set up for years to come because there stocked with talent he drafted and developed.

Give it time my man

Dear Mr. Salguero

"He's going to hear, feel and touch the situation"

And now this

"Just read a tweet where JT and Rex have left to go out for Dinner"

So the way I'm seein this is Rex gets JT drunk at dinner then takes him back to a hotel room.

Then Rex gets naked ? and asks JT to Hear, Feel and Touch his situation ?

Sounds more like JT went to N.Y. to Cup, Fondle and grope the situation to me.

Soiled :)

READ YOUR OWN POT ODDBALL,

You take a shot at me because i take pride in having no friends or allies on this blog. The oppisite of that is obviously having friends or allies on this blog. DUH!

Even in my impaired state you are no match for me intelecually. Perhaps it is time for you to exit.

ay your tired and its time for bed....no one wil notice

night oddball.

see....

The Jets are mortgaging their future but not in the positions that will hurt them. Their key positions have young guys in them (QB, WR, TE, RB, MLB and CB). They can sign Taylor for a year because he brings veteran leadership.

I was a Dolphins fan but I'm a casual Dolphins observer. I'm still scratching my head over the whole Matt Roth incident. As it stands now, the Jets are the team to beat in the AFC East followed by New England.

kris, it's year 3. And the clock is ticking. Don't know how long you've been a fan but us long timers are tired of waiting and hearing, wait until next year.

As far as Parcells record goes, it got him a good job. But now he has to produce. No more excuses, just win. Ever heard, you are what your record says you are?

WTF ?

No improvement : WR, DT, OLB, TE...

I seriously believe that the Bills will finish 3rd in front of Miami for the next season .... Parcells and Co. sleep... zZzZzZz

Mike Tennenbaum for Parcells... anytime !

BTW, Ireland is a yes man.

Sad.

Foolish of Miami not to lock up a guy who wants to stay and fills a need. We do not have enough high draft picks to fill all our needs - and consequently we had best not create a new need at OLB. Keep JT as an effective player and leader and focus the draft on WR, FS, NT and depth. We can pick a great OLB next year.

READ YOUR OWN POT ODDBALL,

READ? I always thought you smoked that stuff?

You take a shot at me because i take pride in having no friends or allies on this blog.

I never took this shot. I only asked you if the lb's were Peazy and Roth. I couldn't remember at first.
I took a shot at Aloco because he was taking shots at Me and CocoJoe.
(A lot shooting going on around here)

The oppisite of that is obviously having friends or allies on this blog. DUH!

What does your drunken interpretation of friends and allies have to do with me? Let me guess you're drinking Vodka.

Cocoajoe,

I have been a fan since the first game i saw Dan Marin lose to Joe Montanna in the 84 SB.
Sometime i wish i had went the other way. I have been a fan long enough to watch Shula give away games when we were up by 14 in the 2nd half and then he would try to run out the clock in the 3rd quarter instead of going for the kill. I saw Jimmy Johnson force Marino into retirement and then quit when he thought peyton and crew were gonna rule our division much the way the rulw the AFC South. I watch Wanstted run Ricky and our team into the ground. I have never given up on my PHINS, and i believe we are closer now to being a legit contender for many years to come than we have ever been since the dolphins dolphins teams of the early 90's that would routinely get knocked out of the playoffs by the bills just so they could lose another SB

ODDBALL,

Check it out. if your shot wasn't at me then i have no beef wiuth you. I like talking football not the sidebar B that happens way to much on this blog. If this all started as a misunderstanding then lets call it that and be done with it. Others wise...I guess we can sling words all night

and i am in utah for work so its only 6:15 PM here....

ha

i don't give a sh$t anyway. it doesn't make a difference one way or the other whether or not taylor stays or goes one player doesn't make that much of an impact, it's the all around team.

CHECK77!

OK we get it. Parcell's did this Parcell's did that, he's so great, blah blah blah.

Can anyone explain to me how a Bill Parcell's led team finds itself weeks away from the draft without a starting caliber OLB?
We got one good LB. ONE! He'll be playing on the inside.

I know it takes time to turn a team around, but needing time is no excuse for blunder after blunder.

ODDBALL,

describe a startin caliber OLB. does he have to be a household name. I am sure you can take almost any 6-3/6-4 240-260 male and tell him to stop the run and cover the TE when he comes to ur side and see who is the best.

I don't know who started this STARTING CALIBER THIS OR THAT... came from but its media, and its BS

Kris,

Kool, it started out wrong, it was misunderstandings. I apologize for everything if you're serious.

Your post at 7:56 was right on the money. I've always thought the very same thing.

It just gets frustrating waiting and seeing what appears to be dummy moves by the FO.

Bottoms Up.

PS Kris,

Now that I apologized will you quit calling me oddball?
It hurts my God like sensibilities.

Odd,

I'm serious man. I just like football debate. I'm for real man and trust me some trolls on this site may try to use my name to stir up more stuff. but as far as i am concerned...our beef isover. you will know me by my styke of writing. don't be decieved

odinesey,

got it.

ur name is to long

Heading out gentlemen. work calls. peace...look forward to more discussion at a later time.

JASON TAYLOR

I WOULD STILL CHEER 4 U.

EVEN PLAYING THE FINS.

FINS 4 LIFE

PEACE & LOVE

STILL HOPE Ur BACK.

nice to have peace between ODIN AND KRIS .

KRIS, WHAT WORK CALLS ? ARE YOU A PLUMBER ?

Kris,

Lets not get caught up in semantics. Whatever word you use to describe a starting linebacker is fine with me.

What I generally meant is this: Quentin Moses and Clam Chowder are not Bart Scott and Brian Urlacher.

We don't have a LB on the roster, sans Dansby, that scares anyone. I doubt opposing offensive coordinators even bother to game plan against our backers.

By starting caliber, I mean guys that are at least as good as the ones our division rivals have. To date, I ain't seeing it!!!!

Kris, I became a fin fan the same way! So many lost opportunities. I'll never forget the AFC championship game against the Chargers in the Natron Means days. U know, the game that was stolen from us by the referees!

the rules for the final eight teams in the playoffs should make it hard for the Jets to sign JT... They can only offer him $1.5 million dollars to match his contract from last year, I'm sure he knows he could get another team, whether its the Dolphins or not, to sign him for more...

Why is this a big issue now? If he's smart he would weight for after the draft for team's needs to be more obvious, he would have more offers then.

NOOOOooooo. It's the end of mankind for Miami.Jason taylor should not do this.we are enemies!

we are the WORLD , WE ARE THE FINS ,WE ARE WHO WE ARE .

Oh boo hoo, Jason Taylor talked to the Jests, is that the big news of the day???? Dolphins had Earl Thomas in for a second visit, that's more important then talking about a declining 36 year old LB...and by the way, it's ridiculous to say our young LBs haven't played enough and then turn around and say we need to sign Taylor so they can continue to sit on the bench...every year you delay these guys playing is one more year they are not developing...Put in all the rookies, get rid of the old deadwood and see who the future is...JT is trying to force the Dolphins hand, I hope they wait and do what's best for the TEAM, not Jason Taylor

bobbyd12,

I don't think going into the season with Wake and Moses starting is whats best for the "TEAM".
