Last night was fun. Let's do it again!
The live blog starts in the comments section. We'll go through the Dolphins pick.
Please understand that I am not going to sit here throughout the evening. There are interviews to be done, phone calls to be made, and I have a column to write. So the smart-alecks that ripped me for not being around all night last night, I hope you now understand why.
The names to look for in the second round, in my opinion?
Koa Misi, the outside linebacker from Utah. Robert Johnson, the safety from Utah. Ricky Sapp, outside backer from Clemson, Reshad Jones out of Georgia and Morgan Burnett of of G-Tech.
Darkhorses? Toby Gerhart of Stanford. I keep hearing the Dolphins want a RB out of this draft although the round remains uncertain.

Mando,
What about Linvall Joseph?

Orl, thks
Gotta love this kid Oddrick answers to Q&A!!
On his ability pressuring the quarterback and defending the run) "[If] You want to do both. I want to get after the quarterback every play that it's a pass. Sacks don't come every play, they come every so often. It makes you hungry to go get one, and that's why it's such an exciting play. Defending the run, that's just being a man. That's just hunkering down and getting dirty."
(On if he expects to start in the 2010 season) "I don't expect anything. The only thing I expect is for me to go down there and work my behind off to get better. That is what I want to do. I want to be a better player than when I left Penn St. and I think I will do that."
(On what he thinks will make him a successful player in the NFL) "I'm the kind of guy who's going to be professional, who's going to come to work every day, who knows what he wants from the league and knows what he wants to get to the league. Not just the league, but the Miami Dolphins. Coming to work every day and being a competitor. I think I'm a natural competitor, and that's what I do, compete."

Mando,
If not today, do you see the Dolphins going after a return man in this draft like a jacoby ford?
Posted by: Zach | April 23, 2010 at 06:01 PM
Linval is a good player. But another DLineman this early?
Posted by: Armando Salguero | April 23, 2010 at 06:02 PM
Koa Misi is an awfully cool name.
Posted by: The Seer | April 23, 2010 at 06:02 PM
i hope we pass on kindle, he's undersized on top of having weak knees
Posted by: rickgezzy | April 23, 2010 at 06:02 PM
FinFanEd, I vote for you over Fireman Ed.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | April 23, 2010 at 06:02 PM
Armando,
What are your thoughts on Brandon Lang and Cameron Sheffield of Troy? Are they going around the 3rd or 4th? Do you know if the Fins have any interest?
Posted by: carlito from golfito | April 23, 2010 at 06:03 PM
Do you think Sergio Kindle will still be on the board when we pick?
Posted by: Zach | April 23, 2010 at 06:03 PM
What are the odds he was conceived in a
"Kampground of America," and his parents were sentimental??
Posted by: The Seer | April 23, 2010 at 06:03 PM
We pick D line in the 2nd Phillip Merling is out the door.
Posted by: Po White Trash | April 23, 2010 at 06:04 PM
Brian Price if there

Thanks for the great info from everyone commenting on this blog. I live in Australia and have a hard time finding deeper info than the 15 seconds a week on espn during the season. So thanks again and good luck to the fins. The trifecta have proven in the past that they know what they are doing, and if it's true they are indeed adding wrinkles to thier def scheme then odrick should be a great player for us for many years to come!!
Posted by: Watson95 | April 23, 2010 at 06:04 PM
Zach, I've been mentioning Dexter McCluster. Otherwise late, late.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | April 23, 2010 at 06:04 PM
are they going to announce the names of the players chosen tonight?
Posted by: Zach | April 23, 2010 at 06:04 PM

the idea of moving merling to the olb spot is interesting...
Posted by: rickgezzy | April 23, 2010 at 06:05 PM
odin,
why a QB? we have MR Henne
Posted by: harricane | April 23, 2010 at 06:02 PM
I was speaking in reference to packaging Penny in a trade.
Plus I believe in Holmgren's theory about drafting a late round QB every year.
You never know when you'll find a gem.
Posted by: odinseye | April 23, 2010 at 06:05 PM
Armando,
Could we get a 3rd for Merling?
Posted by: carlito from golfito | April 23, 2010 at 06:06 PM
The idea of moving Merling to another team is better
Posted by: bobbyd12 | April 23, 2010 at 06:06 PM
I go to UCF and met Torell Troup last weekend. Nice guy and from watching him play he is a beast nose tackle. Do the Dolphins have any interest? He could be a great option in round 3 or 4.
Posted by: Curtis | April 23, 2010 at 06:06 PM
wow, Mel Kiper just made a McCoy-Plummer comparison
Posted by: Zach | April 23, 2010 at 06:07 PM
Mount Cody anyone??
Posted by: rickgezzy | April 23, 2010 at 06:07 PM
I think we have to take an Olb in the second round. We need two of the. There is still a hope that we can get a FS in free agency. If we dont get an OLB I am going to be sooo dissapointed. But if they dont its going to be very interesting how we fill the OLB position
Posted by: ray | April 23, 2010 at 06:07 PM
Merling can't/won't be moved to OLB.
He could be moved to another team.
Posted by: odinseye | April 23, 2010 at 06:07 PM
What is the friggen love affair with Kindle? OMG!
Some of you act like he is the second comig of Ray Lewis or Lawrence Taylor?
Go Phins!
Posted by: Martin | April 23, 2010 at 06:07 PM
McCoy will be better then Clausen
Posted by: bobbyd12 | April 23, 2010 at 06:07 PM
I expect Merling will stay with Dolphins. We'll see.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | April 23, 2010 at 06:08 PM
Armando, did we trade a 5th rounder for Detroit OLB Cliff Avril?
Posted by: Cam Cameron | April 23, 2010 at 06:08 PM
Be SHOCKED if we got Cody.
Posted by: Po White Trash | April 23, 2010 at 06:08 PM
Armando do you think the fins could throw a 2nd rd curve ball like Jimmy Graham here?
Posted by: DyingBreed | April 23, 2010 at 06:09 PM
If we go offense at all in 2nd or 3rd it's gotta be tight end. Otherwise fill the holes on D
Posted by: JStew | April 23, 2010 at 06:09 PM
Mando,
Any truth to Cliff Avril for a 5th?
Posted by: Bosfinfan | April 23, 2010 at 06:09 PM

McCluster is said to be a monster and has a motor that doesn't stop like JPP. What do you think about WR Tate from ND? is he worth the reach Mando? he reminds me of Steve Smith.
Posted by: nyfinfan | April 23, 2010 at 06:10 PM
I dont think jimmy graham has good value in the second round
Posted by: Zach | April 23, 2010 at 06:10 PM
No trade for Avril yet.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | April 23, 2010 at 06:10 PM
Saffold?
Wasn't expecting that.

?
Posted by: DyingBreed | April 23, 2010 at 06:10 PM
I like Jimmy Graham but not in the second round, either. He's a project. third rounder at best, IMO.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | April 23, 2010 at 06:11 PM
We either trade the pick and grab a NT later in Round 2 or if we don't trade we get the lb from TCU
Posted by: kyphinphan | April 23, 2010 at 06:11 PM
The Troy Twins are sexy sounding picks -- but not in the second round!
Posted by: Armando Salguero | April 23, 2010 at 06:12 PM
Rumor: Miami trade their 5th roun pick for Cliff Avril.

I hope Minn. takes chris cook
Posted by: odinseye | April 23, 2010 at 06:14 PM
Is there something wrong with Kindle? The rumors are he is an injury waiting to happen. Have the fins mentioned anything one way or another?
Posted by: nyfinfan | April 23, 2010 at 06:14 PM
Armando,
Is today actually going to be a live blog? Or us talking to each other? Just wondering.
