Jason Taylor played 13 years for the Miami Dolphins.
So, darn it, he's going to speak to the South Florida media first before he goes to New York for a press conference.
I'm told Taylor will conduct a press conference at his foundation's headquarters at 8:30 p.m. I will be there.
By the way, 790 The Ticket here in Miami is quoting "a source," as saying Taylor had a contract from both the Dolphins and Jets on the table ...
... And that Taylor picked the Jets.
Sorry, fellas, not true.
Where do people come up with this stuff?
Anyway, what would you ask JT tonight?

Are you Kidding me. You guys F'n banned me ?? For what ???

Everyone got upset last year when I wrote this team was 8-8 at best, but they were worse. Now everyone will get upset that I am going to restate that this team will be 8-8 at best. Yea we added Dansby and Marshall, but that just is not enough to make a solid TEAM. It looks like we will have to rely on even more Rookies to make plays than last year. Not the way to get to the playoffs and Super Bowl....
Posted by: dwain454 | April 20, 2010 at 05:50 PM
Why he slept with Sparano's wife and urinated on Parcells' mom (or the other way around); he sure did something to get on the wrong side of their affections...

Taylor is trash now.Rot away in Jersey fool.
Posted by: beerndrums | April 20, 2010 at 05:52 PM
What a ego. He is a new York jets. There is nothing he can say after "I will retire rather than play for the Jets". Move on with ur life and he will have two sacks and be a non factor. Maybe he should be more like his brother in law. Know when to retire or sign with someone else. R u seriously telling me that all the other teams refused as well, his agent played cat and mouse with the dolphins and the fins said not interested in your agent games. Now u know why the fins didn't want to deal with him last yeat. Can we now focus on the more important thing, the draft.

You to Mark Damatto/texasfins/fort worth texas fins ??
Posted by: NJ PHIN FAN | April 20, 2010 at 05:52 PM
I'd ask him if he can leave quicker.
Posted by: Rocphinsfan123 | April 20, 2010 at 05:53 PM
This TEAM is still in rebuild mode. Taylor is just not a piece of that. Dancing with the Stars did not help his admiration with this front office and now his age has made him expendable. Hopefully next year we will see the result of all this rebuilding....
Posted by: dwain454 | April 20, 2010 at 05:54 PM
You cant blame him, Parcells and Co, didnt offer him anything, gave him the cold shoulder! Much respect, but hope you lose the dolphins twice!
Posted by: McLovin | April 20, 2010 at 05:55 PM
Jason Taylor is dead to me
Posted by: carlito from golfito | April 20, 2010 at 05:55 PM
Will your family be living in NY/NJ during the season and, if so, did where they wanted to live play a large part in your choice?
Posted by: Stanger | April 20, 2010 at 05:55 PM
LOL NJ.. thats funny sht
Posted by: AZ Phinatic | April 20, 2010 at 05:55 PM
Trade down and take Mike Iupati is the best move this TEAM could make. Sure up the O-line and add a second round pick. Then go all out on D...

I heard the Patsies signed Tory Holt earlier today. That's huge for them.
Posted by: beerndrums | April 20, 2010 at 05:56 PM
Shame on all of you saying shame on management...
They were up front with JT, telling him that they would wait until after the draft to discuss his contract (just like last year) and he couldn't wait and went running to fat azzz and the Jets...
He was a great Dolphin, but is also an attention craving diva... So long twinkle toes...
Shame on all of you for wishing him a great season, he is a Jet I wish him a horrible season and have the home crowd booing him in NY for all the shyt he talked about them when he was here
Posted by: carlito from golfito | April 20, 2010 at 05:58 PM
Take the wife and kids with you too loser.
Posted by: beerndrums | April 20, 2010 at 05:58 PM
u morons. i am so mad at ireland for treating taylor like this. grow up u fools. i dont blame jt one bit. the trifecta let us down here
Posted by: stephen | April 20, 2010 at 05:58 PM
He left for the Jets to make the playoffs? What a traitor!!!! How'd that work out in 08 twinkle toes?
Posted by: carlito from golfito | April 20, 2010 at 05:59 PM
Ask him if this is who he wants to play for in case he forgot his quote?
"A bunch of them chanting their dumb-ass chant and all that other stuff, being the ignorant fans they are. I said it. I don't care if they get mad at me or not. They don't like me anyway. Quite frankly, I don't care. ... I'm just being real. I'm telling the truth. You carry yourself with some class, and we'll talk about you as if you've got class. If you want to act crazy and do all the crazy things they do, I'll call a spade a spade
Posted by: finfan23 | April 20, 2010 at 05:59 PM
I am pissed at both the Phins AND J.T. for this! Parcells and co. obviously treated him like sht, and didnt handle this professionally at all.. And I'm sure J.T. coulda signed MANY places besides the Jets! The dolphins fans got SCREWED by both sides! I hope the Phins and JT both feel the backlash of Dolphin Nation

dansection156, great post at 5:52
Posted by: carlito from golfito | April 20, 2010 at 06:00 PM
jt is the man
Posted by: ALoco | April 20, 2010 at 06:01 PM
The Fins told him that they would let him know something after the draft. You don't think the Jests would have waited till then if they "wanted him so bad?" JT did not betray us fans, however, he did show that he is a fraidy cat, maybe he belongs in NY. The Fins will be fine without him....so when next year rolls around is he gonna come crawling back hoping to sign with the defending SuperBowl CHampion Dolphins! Yes I said it! With Brandon Marshall, our offense just took a huge leap forward. I see the Fins being one of the top scoring offenses this year.
Posted by: Bad Bart | April 20, 2010 at 06:01 PM
jt is the best player ever .
Posted by: ALoco | April 20, 2010 at 06:01 PM
am on the fence whether i should remain a dolfan after this..
the present management stinks.
Posted by: jed | April 20, 2010 at 06:03 PM
I fart in JT's general direction
Posted by: carlito from golfito | April 20, 2010 at 06:03 PM
FOR ALL THE BLOGGERS WHO COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR POSTS NOT APPEARING ..........SO WHAT ,IT'S CRAP ANY WAY ,TRY AGAIN .
Posted by: ALoco | April 20, 2010 at 06:03 PM
WOW you are all being harsh with JT and he had nothing to do with the front office not wanting him. He wants to play and it happened the stinking Jets were the only team that actually wanted his services. JT will probably not do well as his heart is will still be with the Dolphins. JT is not the TRAITOR in this, but the organization is...
Posted by: dwain454 | April 20, 2010 at 06:04 PM
Jed,
Go be a Jet fan
Posted by: carlito from golfito | April 20, 2010 at 06:04 PM

Well now we can look forward to Brandon Marshall cracking back on Taylor LOL jack his ass up B Marsh LOL.

JT IS A BEAUTIFUL MAN AND A GREAT PLAYER AND A WONDERFUL PLAYER .
Posted by: ALoco | April 20, 2010 at 06:05 PM
I guess the unholy trifecta is bigger than owner Stephen Ross, who according to reports disclosed his admiration for JT. I am a die hard Phin fan, but, JT I wish you the best with the Jets.
Posted by: Manny | April 20, 2010 at 06:05 PM
Marino and Jason were my favorite Dolphins, but not anymore. Yea the Fins didn't treat him with respect. But Jason himself said that he was told in January that, after the draft, players like him would get talked to about their contracts. Why the surprise that they want to talk to him after the draft? He could have waited 48 hrs and signed with us. He also could have talked to many other teams between the draft and the season who would be interested in pass rushers. There was no reason for him to sign with the Jets. He doesn't even realize how horrible it will be there for him with those classless jet fans. He will be miserable and his marriage will suffer. I can't imagine where his brain was in all of this.
Posted by: finfan23 | April 20, 2010 at 06:05 PM
i'd ask him are you out of your f$%#%^g mind??
Posted by: dj | April 20, 2010 at 06:06 PM
Ask him how he expects to be received in New York and sent off by Miami.
Posted by: Rick | April 20, 2010 at 06:07 PM
Now I gotta burn JT's jersey.I hope there's a Jet fan wearing it while I spark it up.
Posted by: beerndrums | April 20, 2010 at 06:07 PM
Ask him to give Dolphins information about the Jets defense schemes
Posted by: fsdabus | April 20, 2010 at 06:07 PM
PEOPLE,
JT HAD NO CHOICE ,THE FINS DIDN'T WANT BACK ,WHY WE ALWAYS SAY HE HAD A CHOICE .
Posted by: ALoco | April 20, 2010 at 06:07 PM
Let's stop blaming JT for this FO's miscues! I leave it at what it is, he's a Stinkin' Jet and now he's the enemy on the field, besides that I think it's wrong for putting the blame on him.
Posted by: enrique1085 | April 20, 2010 at 06:09 PM
THIS IS A MOVE VERY GOOD FOR JT,HE'S NOW IN THE MIDDLE OF NY NY WHERE IS THE REAL ACTION NOT FLORIDA WHERE PEOPLE STILL EATING PASTA W/ MEATBALLS .
Posted by: ALoco | April 20, 2010 at 06:09 PM
Zach Thomas was just on the radio. He said when BP and Ireland gave him the boot he wanted to have a press conference to thank that fans and he was denied because quote "he was not a dolphin anymore". Thats cold man.
Posted by: THUNDERBOLT | April 20, 2010 at 06:09 PM
Not interested JT.
Your a Jet.
Save the long winded tearful BS statements about how your heart will always blah blah blah... and just get the F outta here.
Posted by: twyger | April 20, 2010 at 06:10 PM
Armando, ask him if he felt like the Fins were giving signs that even after the draft they weren't going to be interested. Seems to me that he got the word that his Dolphin career was over, whether he waited or not.
Posted by: bobbyd12 | April 20, 2010 at 06:10 PM
Wih JT the best (except against the Fins-LOL)
Though he wears "green", he'll always be a fin in his heart.
Posted by: tzey | April 20, 2010 at 06:11 PM
I know this is business and I was happy when we got the Tuna here but I have just lost all respect for him and Ireland. The way they have treated a player who gave everything to this team and still could contribute alot this year makes me wanna puke! I've been a fan since the early 70's and Jason Taylor is one of the best defensive players we've ever had. All he and Zack wanted to do was retire Dophins and this front office spat in their faces. F the tuna and his cronies!
Posted by: Tampa Bay Fin Fan | April 20, 2010 at 06:11 PM
THUNDERBLT, WE RUNNING A TEAM NOT A BUTCHER CHOP .YEAS ,HE'S NOT A DOLHIN ANY MORE.
Posted by: ALoco | April 20, 2010 at 06:11 PM
The fins told JT that they would talk contract after the draft... I'm sure many other teams would be looking for his services after the draft as well, this is what veteran free agents have to deal with... He craves attention and couldn't wait...he chose to go to the Jets
Peace Out Twinkle Toes... look forward to the home crowd booing you when you don't produce...
Posted by: carlito from golfito | April 20, 2010 at 06:11 PM
Miami got rid of Taylor sort of like someone with an aversion to conflict would have done it. They just ignored him until he went away.
I like most of what they've been able to do in FA, i.e., Marshall, Dansby and Incognito, but this one is a bit of a head scratcher. They either have a plan in place in which case they should have cut Taylor loose long before now or they overplayed their hand. I don't feel very good about either possibility.
Posted by: Chris in the 623 | April 20, 2010 at 06:12 PM
ZT also said fins didnt even offer JT a contract so he had nothing zilch nada except the Jets offer.
Posted by: THUNDERBOLT | April 20, 2010 at 06:12 PM
Testing...
Posted by: CM | April 20, 2010 at 06:13 PM
wow...i cant stand to see him in the JETS uniform....actually hope he gets pancaked by Jake a few times...and i am from NY...but my finz will dominate the WETS again...TWICE! Here's my question....Jason, are you selling your house too? Cause Miami doesnt want anything to do with you now!!!
Posted by: james TAYLOR | April 20, 2010 at 06:13 PM
JT and ZT were the best D players on this TEAM over the past decade and they both were treated like crap by this front office. Business is business. Like it or not, it is how they will continue to try and rebuild this TEAM. The question is whether years of rebuilding will amount to a solid Super Bowl run...
Posted by: dwain454 | April 20, 2010 at 06:13 PM
Ask #1, why is he having a PC, he's not retiring, we don't care about his excuses and crying, he's a jet and he has to live with that. #2, ask him if he can take his agents mouth piece, armando and the lemming fans who write on this blog with him.
Posted by: Mitch | April 20, 2010 at 06:13 PM
Back to the playoffs for sure now that JT is gone!
