Undrafted free agents plus draft breakdown

The news first: I have six eight undrafted free agent names that sources say have agreed to join the Dolphins.

The players are:

Nevada DB Jonathon Amaya: 6-0, 203 pounds. Ran a 4.51 at the Combine. Benched 225 pounds only eight times.

Maryland DT Travis Ivey: 6-4, 325 pounds. No Combine results. Had 25 tackles including one sack in 2009.

Duke DL Vince Oghobaase: 6-5, 303 pounds. Ran a 5.48 at the Combine. Benched 225 pounds 27 times.

Penn State CB A.J. Wallace: 6-1, 201 pounds. No Combine results. Four career interceptions, three of those his senior year in 2009.

San Diego State WR Roberto Wallace: 6-4, 225 pounds. No Combine results. Caught 36 passes for 463 yards and three TDs in 2009 and that was his best of three seasons.

Michigan State DB Ross Weaver: 6-1, 203 pounds. No Combine results. Missed all of 2006 season. One career interception.

[Update: Florida International offensive lineman Andy Leavine has been signed as an undrafted free agent, according to my friends at www.draftday.dk. Leavine is listed at 6-5 and 292 pounds. He benched 225 pounds 31 times at his Pro Day.

Also, this morning I've learned Fresno State WR Marlon Moore is on Miami's undrafted FA list. Moore is 6-foot and 190 pounds. He had 15 catches for 317 yards and three TDs for the Bulldogs in 2009.]

Secondly, let me tell you what I thought of the Dolphins draft. Actually, it's late, I've slept five hours in two days and the wife is waiting for me so if you really want to know what I think click here.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Billbill - your 3 starters Kindle, Cody and Dickson are displacing who? Lewis, Ngati and Heap? Let the hangover pass before blogging! By the way, Cody is the 9th DT on the Ravens roster. 9th!!!

EDWIN in UK,

Good post. Good read.

yes cody will play right next to him. yes heaps days are number. kindle according to harbaugh will start.

lets hope terry and odrick become studs, dont see much else here.

jerry

ALOCO AND BOBBY GOOD FRIENDS: DONT LET HIM FOOL YOU KRISSY

i think henne and wake are huge keys on both sides of the ball this year.

I agree ALOCO,

I'm over those jacka*s putting everybody else on this blog down like thier opinion is the only one that matters. This draft along with the aquistion of (MARSHAL/DANSBY) have proven they don't know any more than than any other fan.

I want the true fans to have a voice on this blog. and stop being scared of being ridiculed by somebody who doesn't know SH*T.

Odrick will play 10 times the snaps as Cody

Can someone suggest the Dolphins bring in D. Alexander from Missouri? Arguably the most productive WR in college football this year. I watched every game and he is a big receiver with game changing ability. Not that we have to have another WR but this seems like a steal as an undrafted FA.

i agree jordi, we dont have the depth balt does

I have no idea who anybody is. I just want the fans to be heard

val alexander is injured all the time. hes very slow. very good college player, wont make it in the nfl

WHO SAID I AM GOOD FRIEND W/BOBBYD12 ,IT'S THE INTERNET .BOBBY12 IS NJ .HE TALKS TO BLOGGERS LIKE GANGSTER.WHEN THIS FORUM SHOULD BE ABOUT EVERY ON'S SAY AND BELIEVES NOT ONLY ONE PERSON........NOW PEACE TO ALL ...TO WORK .

BY THE WAY BOBBYD12 OR NJ ISN'T WORKING,NO GYM OR POLICE .

Well I am glad that the Ravens are getting special allowances to use extra players when running a base 3-4 defense. 2 starting DT's and 5 Linebackers should make it that much tougher for teams to play them.

But, in a way you make my point. The Ravens now have 7 TE's. Lets figure they keep 3. That Leaves Davon Drew, LJ Smith, Edgar Jones and Quinn Syniewski as probably getting cut. The draft is not the end all be all, just a step in the offseason building of your team. I am sure that we can find a TE among the 31 other teams and since you feel Heap's days are numbered I would take him now...

NJ AND BOBBYD12 STOP UPSETTING MY SON HE VERY SENSITIVE BOY LOVES LITTLE ANIMALS HE CRY ALOT BECAUSE YOU HURT FEELINGS

This draft is part 3 of the rebuilding process and This is what I see being done.

1) Big, Tough, Smart and MEAN O-line
2) QB that can throw down the field
3) a star receiver to make our other recievers better.
4) a running game that will wear down other TEAMs.

Defense is going to be a monster under Mike Nolan.. Still a work in progress, but the thing that stick out to me is We will stop the run and create turnovers. Two very important parts of the puzzle.

F the Jets
GO PHINS!!

Well said fb

Now i got a mom and a bodyguard on the same sight. wow.

sup bobby12/nj

I GOING TO WORK THEn MEET NJ AND BOBBYD12 FOR DRINKS AFTER WE ALL GREAT FRIENDS BYE DONKEYS

no way on heap, hes garbage. always injured, old

According to Mando Spitler is a long shot to even make the team so I would have preferred if we'd drafted Legarret Bount or Javarris James in the 7th instead.

But this is our team, no turning back, let's get this mf started!

hope your right on nolan, denvers d was awful last year after first few games

Can't wait for Sept 26 when we get to shove a nice big Dolphins victory up Jason Traitor and his girlfriend Rexina Ryan's a sses.

billbill,

DO u really think heap is worse than Fasano...really?

I HAVE TO READ KRIS BEDTIME STORY AND HIRE BODYGUARD FOR HIM SO HE NOT GET FEELING HURT STOP HURTING MY SON

no but least fasano is younger. i dont like either one.

Wonder if Armando has changed his mind now that he knows Mel Kiper has given us C- grade?

Wonder if Ireland & Tuna get heat from Ross after Ross reads Kiper's criticism of inept Fin drafting?

I'll give you the age thing. but Heap has been doing it long enough to understand defences and how to get open. Plus he has sure hands. Fasano dropped a few TDs this year.

billbill 2008-2009 Heap played all 32 games, 2007 he played 6 2005-2006 he played all 32 games he isnt always injured

Quote : "I've seen misi play alot. guy gets thrown around pretty easily. not very excited about him, kindle would of been my pick."

Well, against OTs? If he is getting thrown around at DE- that is one thing, if he is in a three point stance. I'm surprised we didn't draft D. Washington, since he was right in our laps. Can anybody put up some statistics comparing D. Washington and Koa Misi to look at?

I found this:

Washington led TCU with 109 tackles, the most stops by a Horned Frog since 2004 (Martin Patterson, 131). Washington was a Dick Butkus Award semifinalist. His 11 tackles for loss, including 3 1/2 in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, placed second on TCU behind only Hughes.

Koa was THIRD ON THE TEAM!!!

All-Mountain West Conference first-team selection … Started the team's final 12 games at right defensive end, missing the season opener vs. Utah State after injuring his back in a mid-August scrimmage … Finished third on the team in tackles for the third consecutive season, totaling a career-best 71 hits (34 solo) with five sacks for minus-28 yards, 9.5 stops for losses of 34 yards and one quarterback pressure … Ranked ninth in the MWC in sacks (0.42 steals per game) and 12th in tackles for loss (0.79 tackles per game) … Also caused three fumbles.

Hmmm...I know who I would rather have!

HEY JACKA*S,

words on a computer screen don't mean sh*t to me. Your just another coward on this blog who isn't mature enough to articulate his thoughts so you stoop to lame insults and fake names.

At least entertain me with some humor

gene nylius, who cares about Kiper, really?? Dolphins make him look bad Fox Sports gave Dolphins an "A" Does that change your mind?

KRIS CALM DOWN YOU NEED ME TO COME OVER AND RUB YOUR NECK FOR YOU?

HEY MANDO - HOW ABOUT UPDATING THE ROSTER MORE FREQUENTLY, AND MAYBE ADDING A DEPTH CHART? THANKS.

i'm not excited...i'm bored....c'mon...be funny.....go cut and paste some of SOILED's old post. he's funny ur lame. TRY HARDER

There is NO WAY that Pat White is NOT being moved into the offense.
Henne, Thigpen, Penny are the QB's.

What I want to see is a 3 receiver set (Marshall, Turner, Bess), 1 Back (White).

There are about 65 offensive plays a game. Use this formation 30 times. 12-15 times a game Henne laterals to White and he can either run or pass. Another 4-6 times Henne throws him a swing pass in the flat?

How do you defend that?

Gem nyius:

I doubt Ross, parcells, Ireland, sparano or even mando car about kipers grade

Kiper is good at what he does. But it doesn't always translate on the field.

I wonder if he even knows who starks is

Fox only gave Fins an "A" because Nolan Carroll's Mom is a Republican politician.

I never get excited, im boring, thats what everyone tells me.

Doesn't Kindle need micro fracture surgery and that's what scared teams away? If it's true he's not starting for anyone next year.

As far as the rest I will give Bill and Co. the benefit of the doubt but I have to say so far Kiper and the "experts" were right about Miami's two big reach picks last year (Turner and White).

gene nylius, yes you are exactly right, thats the reason, you believe in the tooth fairy too right?

You are embarring yourself now......what a pathetic stalker

GO ANDY! GO FIU!!! GOD SPEED BROTHA!

now i gues i will go to blue signing. so what did u reall do. your a joke and a loser

KRIS, NOW YOU STAY AWAY FROM THE YMCA YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENED LAST TIME YOU GOT EXCITED AROUND ALL THOSE MEN

What's up fellas?

My thoughts on the draft.

I liked what Miami did. I would have to give them a solid B maybe B plus.

Odrick - I like Odrick a lot. He is a perfect fit for this team and as a 3-4 DE. Moving Starks to NT made this pick even better.

Misi - Guys mark my words, write it down, take a picture. He is in the Clay Mathews mold. He might not have the same production as a rookie with all the sacks but Misi is tough, flys around and is going to be a playmaker.

Jerry - I don't have much on him to be honest. I like big O linemen. He is 6'5 325 lbs that's BIG. Also I trust the way this team has brought along O linemen.

AJ Edds - I like the pick and the player. He burned my Michigan this year and was always around the ball. He could be a nice knickel linebacker. At worst he is a tough kid who will be a nice backup and special teamer.

Carroll - I have nothing guys. I did read that he is a good player and if not for breaking his leg he could have been a second rounder.

Reshad Jones - I think he could be a steal. If he flops no big deal he was a late 5th rounder. His 11 career ints has to say something.

I got nothing on the late round picks.

Odrick and Misi will be starters from day 1. Remember Misi fellas, he is a player.

YAWN.....YAWN

i'm out bobby/nj. have fun in you mom's basement developing your nrxt personality. you are to boring to waste any more time on.

Yes mom, I remember about the YMCA incident

Eddie Irwin,

Good post from across the pond bloke!

You nailed it with the fact that the Bills choosing Spiller allowed the RB Ryan Mathews to still be on the board when the Fins chose.

This started a domino like chain of events that included the "Whopper" trade of the Fins #12 pick in round one.

It would be neat to see an alternate universe draft if the Bills chose Mathews. Then we could see if the Eagles would have traded to 2 x #3's to us for Brandon Graham or the Fins would sit tight and make a choice.

So many what if scenarios.

I sure liked OLB Jerry Hughes instead of DT Odrick but I will let the Odrick pick and the Trifecta's magic work itself out before casting any stones. One way or the other we will see what happens on the football field. In 2 or 3 years down the road the hindsight should be interesting.

Cheers,

BillBill,

You don't like anything, could you please enlighten us with something you do like?

Otherwise you are a troll

I like Guys!

not very enlightening...

but quite enjoyable. Yum.

You want some cheese on dem Krystals

Mando, read some disturbing news about Ireland and Misi. Ireland was reported as saying that Misi "terrorized Alabama and had 3 sacks in the '09 Sugar Bowl."

The report said that teammate Stevenson Sylvester (drafted by Pitt in the 5th round)had 3 sacks, Misi 0.

Did Ireland draft the wrong guy?

Carlto , i nominate NJ PHIN FAN as Blog Captain. He's been nice Lately. He was calm and cool over the 3 day Draft on here . He fight with no nobody . Not like that Hothead boobyd12. He was fighting , cursing and throw insults with Everybody.

Would have loved to see some of these guys signed by us as Undrafted Free Agents. A few other UFA's have some possiblity...

I will rank them in order of best chance to make a roster and contribute:

OT Tony Washington Abilene-Christian Signed by ??? Has a really funky sex offender case from when he was really young but has football skills and can play. Could have been a 3rd rounder based on skillset

RB LeGarrette Blount Oregon signed by SF 49ers

WR Jeremy Williams Tulane signed SD Chargers

WR Blair White Michigan State signed Indianapois Colts

WR Freddie Barnes Bowling Green signed Chicago Bears

DE Brandon Lang Troy signed by SD Chargers

RB Stephon Johnson USC signed by Tenn Titans

OT Mike Tepper Cal Signed by ?? Has size 6' 5 1/2 and 324lbs and some ability. Maybe could a more athletic Guard?

ST/WR Kelton Tindale Newberry signed by Minn Vikings Sub 4.3 blazer return guy/backup WR

WR Pat Simonds signed by Phili

S Antoine Lucien OSU signed by ?? Developmental type. Has super strength and hits like a freight train. Had 65 tackles and 2 Ints in essentially his first year. Should be a special teams player contributor right away.

I would say a few of these guys are "potential" fish that got away!

The ones that aren't signed have at least flashed some intriguing football ability. T. Washington can play he just has the issue.

Cheers,

carlito,

What's shakin mang?

Thanks for the nomination bro.

I am not sure I can forsee enough blog participation/activity as we move forward.

Basically there will be zip to talk about for about 3 months after the post draft discussion dies down.

I appreciate the forum to discuss all things Fins for the time being though.

Cheers,
