Dolphins alumni (and me) head to Haiti today

A handful of Dolphins alumni are flying to Haiti today to help in relief efforts for the earthquake-savaged nation. I will be going with them.

The Dolphins contingent is scheduled to include former receiver and current vice president and senior advisor Nat Moore, and former safeties Bobby Harden, Sean Hill and Bryant Salter.

Our group is scheduled to arrive in Port-au-Prince at 2 p.m. and will take a tour of Project Medishare’s Hospital in Haiti. The Dolphins, Sun Life Financial and Project Medishare will present 13 ShelterBox tents to the 13 families that participated in the Haiti Connect Project that began on April 4.

Quarterback Chad Henne got the ball rolling on the project in April as he donated the first ShelterBox tent while participating in the video conference with one of the families that took part in the program. The additional 12 tents and Saturday’s trip to deliver the tents to Port-au-Prince were soon to follow through The Miami Dolphins/Sun Life Stadium Haiti Relief Fund. Included with the tents are aid and survival items that assist victims of natural disasters and other catastrophic events.

I obviously believe this to be a good cause. I also believe it will be a good column that I'll share with you in Monday's paper.

I've never been to Haiti before. And even though we are only going for the day, more than one person has recommended I pass on the trip. One person told me the story of one of Bill Clinton's Secret Service agents who was bitten by a tick and contracted lyme disease. He's been out of circulation for two months as a result.

I don't believe that will be my fate. I'm well prayed over. Check for the column from Haiti Monday.

So, anyone else want to talk football?

I'm glad to see Henne was the first to start this, good to see he is a good guy. Good to see football get some good press too (cause it needs it, LT and Rothes, etc....), hope it is gettin better in Haiti most of all, cause at the end of the day that is real life and this is just football

I've been wanting to talk fooseball but all we got r stories like this. And of Hati actually had a building code there instead of them rebuilding all the time the same way with thin wood and rusty nails they wouldn't be in this situation...they keep rebuilding the same way, that's asking for trouble. In New Orleans they are building stronger houses and buildings and a storm wall. Hati has had this happen time and time again because they know the USA will come to the rescue as always. We get a pat on the back for helping and then they talk trash about Americans when we leave..same old routine guys...when will we learn! We have a ton of homeless here in our country that we rarely help...but we are pouring millions I to Hati which doesn't appreciate anything! Fix our home and our people guys!

Guys WHAT THE DEUCE is going on here???? Odin, You'Ve been on here for a couple hours now, Please explain????? Guy's the only way to rid us from this guy is to IGNORE him.......

Amen cowkiller why don't they walk 2 blocks west of the heat arena downtown and donate sone shelter and food over there!

Hi cuban whats shaking?

The current defense budget, not counting the cost of fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, is $535 billion. Repairing a few hospitals and schools in Haiti will not break the bank. Btw if we dont do it the Chinese will be more than happy to plant their flag in Haiti.

Guys WHAT THE DEUCE is going on here???? Odin, You'Ve been on here for a couple hours now, Please explain????? Guy's the only way to rid us from this guy is to IGNORE him.......

This is the smartest thing I've read on this blog. Keep getting that message out until homstradomus is transported back to the planet Marklar to make war on the galactic muggletractors.

I have to see that this is probably the WORST set of comments I've seen in a long time, and that's saying something!

I mentioned Jason Allen several times. I feel he has a better chance to stay as a FS/Nickle than Will Allen. If I was Will Allen I would be loooking at real estate in Denver, since that's likely where he'll end up!

Mando, you'll be fine in Haiti. I'm Haitian and it's a poor, but beautiful island (before the earthquake). After you do some work, go check out the Barbacourt rhum factory, best rhum in the world (yeah Cubans, better than Cuban rhum). But thanks Cubans for mojitos, I don't know what I'd do without 'em.

The thought of George W. Bush being part Of the "Illuminati" is so laughable and absurd I've just "Soiled" Myself.............

What up menace?
The Oil Dome did not work
Russia using their HAARP on us to blow up that oil rig must be laughing at us

Now we cannot stop the toxic oil flow which is now at 3 million gallons already
For maybe 2 more months

This is devastating
As Home
Loves the ocean & beaches and lives in South Florida

Mando, Cowkilla is the reason the World hates Americans. First of all, how disgusting is it when you're looking for payback from a poor nation that has experienced a disaster. I doubt Cowkilla remembers the numerous countries that offered help to Louisiana after Katrina. Second, Cowkilla sounds like he has absolutely NO knowledge of history, like back during our Revolutionary War, when a Haitian army helped Savannah, GA residents resist the Redcoats (that's the British Cowkilla, remember reading about that when you got your GED?). There's a statue in Savannah today giving thanks to those soldiers (so yeah, Haiti HAS helped the United States). Lastly, Mexican drug cartels from South America and Mexico have found out that running drugs through the Caribbean islands (specifically Haiti) is extremely lucrative and offers less resistance from the U.S. So unless you fools want drugs to flood into this country (like it is now), then I suggest we work to improve the Haitian political situation so that those people can reject the drug cartels for a better future (which would be a benefit to all countries in North America). See Cowkilla, in a global community, with a global economy, we need to assist those countries that are falling behind because, as you saw in Afghanistan, letting them fail offers the possibility that it comes back to bite us worse later. So if you really want to talk about our geo-political strategy Cowkilla, I suggest you read a book first.

Marshall &
This guy Tim Dobbins
for our #2 pick which the Trifecta got back

Tim Dobbins stats:

Season Team Tackles Interceptions Fumbles
G GS Comb Total Ast Sck SFTY PDef Int Yds Avg Lng TDs FF
2009 San Diego Chargers 14 2 55 39 16 1.0 -- 1 1 13 13.0 13 0 1
2008 San Diego Chargers 16 8 57 46 11 0.0 -- 4 1 4 4.0 4 0 3

I always wondered why Jason Allen always gets a pass even though hes just a big a bust as Ted Ginn. Never an outcry to get rid of him.

HOME , WHAT ABOUT THE SNOW FOR THURSDAY ?

So much for Global warming Huh????

LOL
U mean last Thursday in Minn or Denver?

dc leave cowkilla alone, just stupid redneck

DC Dolfan i was on a cruise last year to the caribbean and did the land excursion bus thing... I forget which island St something.. Anyway the tour guide was very blunt and made it a point to stop at all the Chinese newly built hospitals and schools. There werent any US built buildings except an oil refinery. He was very sarcastic about that point. Communist China already has established political influence in the affairs of Caribbean and Latin American countries. Even if US folks dont want to be humanitarians we need to realize our national security is involved. We look like total arses when the Chinese ceremoniously build hospitals in our backyard and we grudgingly deliver water bottles and tents.

NEXT THURSDAY IN DENVER .

HOME ,,,, DO YOU THINK THE BP OIL WILL REACH FLORIDA ?

Good for you Mando
I was in Haiti over 20 years ago. Not much has changed. It is the poorest country you will every be in. You are going to be shocked by what you see. Know that the damage done there really didn't make a whole lot of difference in how they live. Some of the "houses" are down, but the use of the word house is misused. They might even have more food now then they have had in twenty years. Funny how no one cared before that they were without food and shelter. I am glad they now have some attention from the world but need so much more. You will never forget your trip. I never did.

Menace
Just a handful of peanuts, please
LOL

home, u sound like a charitable handout resource group....Thats why i bolt my doors at nite before bloody sundays*

Of course it could also be the weather cycles that have happened on this earth for thousands of years but Im so highly intelligent I believe the US Government has made a weather machine and no one else but me and Jesse Ventura know about

HOME,
WHEN LAST TIME YOU HAD LOVE ?

Home, snowfall this year was sick in DC. I haven't seen it snow like that in 20 years. Shoulda been in FL during this winter, that's for sure.

Cowkilla, funny, but you don't sound like you know shyt from shinola. And to talk about your "companies", that's rich. Dude, pimpin' a stable of prostitutes isn't a reputable business (no matter how much money you make). As for myself, I'm classy enough not to need to impress people with the money I have. What I have I earned through blood, sweat and tears (not built off the backs of others), so you can go boast to someone else Pizan!
