Former guard Harry Galbreath passes at age 45

I remember the first couple of times I ever stepped into a Dolphins locker room in the early 1990s and saw Harry Galbreath. I wasn't impressed.

He was listed at 6-1. It seemed like an exaggeration to me because I would look him eye to eye. He wasn't particular muscular. He was very quiet.

Then I saw Harry Galbreath practice, and all of a sudden, my feelings on the guy changed.

He wasn't big but he was nasty. He wasn't muscular but he was country strong. That was the reason he started every game in 1990, 1991 and '92 and played five seasons with the Dolphins from 1988 to '92. The man was a blocking fire hydrant. He was an NFL All-Rookie selection in 1988.

Harry Galbreath has passed away, according the University of Tennessee Sports Information office. He was 45 years old. The cause of death has not been determined.

[Update: The cause of death is an apparent heart disease.]

Galbreath played for the Volunteers and was working at the school as an associate strength and conditioning coach. He played for the Dolphins, Green Bay and the New York Jets before retiring after the 1996 season.

After he retired, Galbreath briefly went into private business and then became of offensive line coach at Austin Peay for two years before serving five years in the same capacity at Tennessee State, then two years at Hampton. He returned to his alma mater, Tennessee, in 2007.

***** The Dynasty Be Fins! *****

hey HOME!

glad to see you make an appearance ....

thanks for another fearless Dolphin prediction ... I agree ... it's going to be fun to watch ...

btw, have you read up on the microwave weapon they have put together that fries people with no damage to surrounding structures? or the audio weapon (already in use in Afgan) that takes the ear drums to the point of rupture ... the HAARP story you have shared is not as much fiction as some would like to believe ...

Odin- The stuff about the death rays setting off the Yellowstone Super Volcano is funny stuff, but check this out. A large Heard of buffalo (about 200) has migrated out of the Northeast part of Yellowstone through Cooke City(thats where I live) conspiracy peolpe were scared that animals do strange things in advance of catostrophic events(earthquakes, exploding volcanoes, jets not on Espn 24-7) These peolpe were sure that this was the a sign that the super volcano was going to blow it's load, and we were all going to die! The buffalo returned 2 days later, and all is well. Sop we can breath easy.

I've been lurking on the SS every since the fight earlier.
I hate to bring up the subject of the SS again, but what the Hell, I'm on some strong pain medication at the moment.

Since early afternoon the entire dialogue at the SS has been as follows:

1. Penny is better than Henne.

2. Comparisons of their Avatar pictures.

3. Baseball.

4. Marshall will play TE for us instead of WR.

5. More avatar picture comparisons.

6. More baseball.

7. Penny is still better than Henne.

8. More baseball.

9. More avatar picture comparisons.

And finally:

10. Fasano fumbles too much.....so.......Marshall will play TE instead of WR for us.

I'm sure my perception is slightly skewered thanks to the beautiful doctors and the prescriptions they wrote for me. This however is no exaggeration. This is the sum of intellect going on at the SS tonight! The same people that call us here at the Herald a 3 ring circus. Seriously!

Yeah odinseye and you have great convo on here the herald about kobyashi and hotdog eating contests !! yes 3 ring circus fits the bill on here !! seriously !!!

and i didn't even mention the convo about haarp , volcano's and tin foil hats that has been going on here !! seriously !!!

i enjoyed your post and agree w/every thing you said , I THINK THE FINS WILL KICK AZ THIS YEAR .

we got HOME!

how's that for intellect going on here tonight ?? take some more meds and call me in the morning. no exaggeration !! seriously !!

the SS ;

SS D$cK Head

The only HARRP Ray talk her was from me. It was own humorous way of saying hello to HOME. Funny I have to explain the concept of humor to an intellectual genious from the SS.

For the record, you can keep your manic a_s copy and paste routine at the SS, believe me, we won't miss your goof ball attacks on the Menace at all. I personally would rather have HOME here over any of you guys any day. Compared to you, HOME's an intellectual Giant.

You’ve heard over and over again about what a great blocker Marshall is. The Tri-guys know this and will utilize that to their advantage by playing Marshall at TE.

July 27, 2010 at 10:32 pm
typos all over da place! ^Please^ ^blocker^ oopsy! LOL

July 27, 2010 at 10:33 pm
Why else would they not sign or bring in any TE’s when we have a starter who could fumble at any time. With Marshall you get a good blocker and a guyu who wil own the seem. It will let Hartline and Cam flourish on the outside.

July 27, 2010 at 10:36 pm
They didn’t draft a FS either, maybe the Kraken will play FS as well? And don’t say Jones, because I think he’s a SS.

Jason Bay pulled a Ryan Church. Maybe the concussion will help Bay. Poor Church.

NJ1 You dont like my picture? Actually it goes with the name, which means clown from hell.

I deleted the names so cry babies like SS moderator won't whine and whine and whine.................

Yeah I copy and pasted Moderator, what you gonna do about it?

If it's so bad here, why are you absolutely always here?

SS D6ck Head,

It's still going on. These sre your peers-LMFAOROTF!!!!

Tri-guys want to win now they can’t with a TE who fumbles all the damn time. Marshall won’t fumble and will give the middle presence we don’t have. Hartline and Cammy will have a field day on the outside.

July 27, 2010 at 10:51 pm
are you impersonating NFL Analyst ??

July 27, 2010 at 11:00 pm
No, they told you Fasano was a starter but he might fumble a game away. We need someone with sure hands, a veteran all signs point to Marshall.

The Yanks have lost confidence in Joba. Joba may do better with a change of team, out of NY. I heard Joba is a million dollar arm with a ten cent head. That sums it up.

At least the one guy was trying to give the other guy an out. Like you SS he was too much of a dolt to pick up on it.

please, please. let us at least kill the jets, browns, and steelers. pats would be nice!

Didn't mean to dis anyone, I just had to answer the d*ckwad that's been aggravating me all day.

Actually I mentioned the Yellowstone volcano because I've heard or read it's one of the most active Super Volcanos on the planet.
Scarry thought for people that live where you and I do.

Football Talk: Misi will sign Wenesday and Odrick Thursday-LOL!

How funny!

SS Moderator went right back to the SS and posted as Payaso Del Carajo (formerly CC)

He tried whinning to NJ, but NJ told him to get lost and stop talking to him.

Payaso/moderator you're a joke dude.

Thanks for not falling for his garbage NJ. I was mainly addressing him as he attacked me.

Payaso/moderator your bul_sh_t is wearing thin on everyone, take NJ's advice.

Go get your shine box loser-LMAO!!!!

Quality time with my Green eyed Hottie.

I'm outta here. I got a long drive to Detroit in the morning and I'm going play a couple of shows and party like it's 2012-LOL!

G'night SS ModeratorBob!!!!

.....Kumbaya my Lord.........

The idea of using one of the top 5 WR's in the NFL as a TE is Felonious. I would love to be a invisible guy in the room when they tell Brandon..."Uh... we've been thinking, we're gonna line you up at TE this season...Okay?" You know how they said Brandon went up side his Ex girlfriends head? Can you imagine Ireland walking out of the office with his eye all swollen up, lip bleeding and Sparano walking behind him... snickering, saying "I told you he wouldn't like the idea" under his breath?
I hope its everyone's desire to make this blog the best it can be. Its been up and down, but I feel there have been some great posts on here since Armando got back. I hope to see it continue. Camp getting started on Friday should get things much more focused and not give to much room to "WANDER" with the Posts.

I think there is a new blog up guys

part of it

I had the honor of meeting him and getting to hang out with him a couple of times when a High school buddy of mine worked for the Dolphins. He was a very kind and considerate person. It was really cool of him to take the time to hang out with a bunch of HS punks like us. I'm very sorry to hear about his passing. My prayers go out to his family.

well done faithful servant!we will never forget you Harry.

I remember #62 very well. He was the only lineman who could consistently run block during those years.

1990 Fins starting lineup has lost Harry Galbreath, Jarvis Williams, Alfred Oglesby, Reggie Roby and TJ Turner.

5 starters out of 24, gone before the age of 47.

This is as unbelievable as it is horrible. Someone ought to be asking questions...
