Evan Oglesby has been sick, he's been injured, he's been cut, he's been re-signed. On Tuesday evening he suffered another setback in his attempt to make the Dolphins roster.
The fifth-year cornerback suffered what looked to be some sort of leg injury during the closing minutes of practice. He sustained the injury to the right leg after breaking up a pass.
Oglesby lay on the turf inside the Nick Saban Memorial Bubble (NSMB) for nearly a minute as trainers rushed to his side. They eventually helped him up and carried him off the field and into the locker room.
Tough break.
Center Jake Grove (bruised bone in a knee) is still not practicing this afternoon. Patrick Cobbs, nursing a hamstring, was back at practice this afternoon.

Guy's the buc's are up first....anything to say about THAT?
Posted by: payuengsnwings | August 11, 2010 at 03:39 AM
Hey payuengsnwings,
I say it is Tampa Bay so we should be able to get out with the win and win most battles on both sides of the ball. Although the Fins seem to play to the caliber of their comp.
The exotic Nolan blitzes early should be quite a pain to deal with in preseason unless they go plain vanilla DEF.
I expect the rookies will see extensive time. Lots of Odrick, Misi, Jerry, Carroll and R. Jones.
As usual I hope there are no major injuries.
Go Phins!
Cheers,

PS I would love to see a kick returned emerge to really grab the reins.
I know Bess can field punts well but his RAC is just marginal.
Cobbs can return kickofffs but is coming off an injury and that is still a concern.
Cheers,

I read the blog daily but I don't post very often as time is limited anymore.
I really like the drafting portion of team building. My draft using the Fins template would have been:
1st OLB/DE Brandon Graham
2nd WR Brandon Marshall
3rd OG John Jerry
4rth TE Clay Harbor
5th CB Nolan Carroll
5th S Reshad Jones
7th LB Jamar Chaney
Traded up a couple of spots to get either:
7th DT Jeff Owens or DT Kade Weston
This draft would be fine for me. Some changes but kept the overall framework.
Cheers,

Hey Sparano...
Why don't you try running a few cone drills and running some cut patterns in the bubble. Lets see how your porky legs and ankles hold up. Wake up and stop risking these players to injuries on that artificial crap!

we watched all the practices up until tues. all the rookies looked promising especially odrick, misi, jerry and carroll. henne hasnt improved over last year. he looked stiff, doesnt go thru his progressions, usually checks it down to a back even when a receiver is open downfield. thigpen looked more fluid, had a feel for the offense and made all the throws. dobbins and charles grant looked real good. sean smith played soft getting beat long almost daily. jason allen looked better; so much so he replaced smith with 1st team reps. the 2 a day practices were too much and we got some bad injuries. sometimes less is better. thats my take after 12 days watching.

“BTW – there’s nothing better than making a big plate of hot wings, an ice cold frosty mug, and watching football all day long in the privacy of your own home.”
Diggs, I am tempted by that.
:See MH crew. This why our stadium is always empty because of fans like this, the weakling non fans who don't help pay the players salaries but they constantly pizz and moan from a distance. the worse kind of front running phoney fans out there. The ones on the Scum Sentinel. This is why other fans mock us.Those types over there. The out of touch out of towners who are un-informed.Just pathetic as they are, they should root for the Jets.Probably a bunch of closet Jet fans if you ask me.
