« Dolphins primer to the Bucs preseason game | Main | Chad Henne: No excuses, it wasn't good enough »

Live blog of Dolphins-Bucs starts at 7 p.m.

The live blog of tonight's Dolphins game versus Tampa Bay starts in the comments section of this post at 7 p.m.

I watched Chad Henne roll up in his Beemer and enter the stadium earlier this afternoon and I suddenly realized I am watching the start of what could be his entrance into NFL stardom. Let's hope.

You know that dawns on me how hopeful and yet uncertain things are for the Dolphins.

Take the defense: Mike Nolan's crew tonight starts two rookies (Jared Odrick and Koa Misi), two first-time starters (Cameron Wake and Chris Clemons),two second-year starters (Sean Smith and Vontae Davis),  a player in a new position (Randy Starks), and a player on a new team (Karlos Dansby).

The Dolphins defense is the definition of brand new, untested and a package full of surprises.

On offense tonight I will be keeping my eye on the offensive line. I want to see this group start to come together. Amazingly, this is the third year of the Bill Parcells-Jeff Ireland-Tony Sparano plan in which they began to build from the interior out.

And they're still building.

Anyway, tonight's game is on NFL Network for satellite subscribers. It is on CBS-4 if you are in South Florida. You can otherwise catch it here online. And of course, I would appreciate if you join me during the live blog.

Follow me on twitter.

rain stinks cause cant tell how people really are. the offense looks terrible. but a lot of their speed is negated by the conditions

guys I know it's early and its raining BUT this team NEEDs TO SHOW something on offense

Anyone in here ever try to catch a wet football in an NFL game?

Special teams just called. They asked me to tell you all suck it.

Stupid, please you can't compare this to a freaking blizzard, especially since the field is mostly crap due to the baseball field which is gone by the time the superbowl comes around.

I agree Mando. Those reports ripping Misi are from Omar Kelly. If Kelly has an issue with a player it means the player will make the Pro Bowl and be a possible Hall of Famer.

Henne's #1 pass is the check down... BUT he can't put any touch on the ball! Bad combination!

Face it guys, sloppy wether makes for sloppy games

Seems to me that Henne is afraid of throwing an interception.

Last "Blizzard" in NY CITY was in 1978

Sick of baseball infield in maimi... they cannot get marlins park done fast enough for me....

When was the last hurricane in Miami?

Your right Dexter, only one ripping Misi is Omar "imma thug" Kelly

Nice read by Clemons on that screen play. Sparano is going to have to keep the starters in for the second quater so that they can get some reps on the grassy part of the field. You guys agree?

Great Defensive containment so far..

Cameron Wake showing up in the run defense. IMPORTANT.

wake looked good on that run stop

Stupid, there are no hurricanes in february when the superbowl is played.

good job dolphins preseason tv station

you suck

Stupid... Not since Andrew in 1991... the rest have been near misses...

Clemons has been active so far.

When was the last hurricane in Miami?

In feb..... Never, Please buy a clue, and go back to the SS... Sorry mando.

Damn

Get the jelly out for Vontae(toast)

Um, their QB looking better than Miami QB.

Not what I expected.

Way to turn your head on tyhe ball Vontae! Great job douche

Gettem CM!

Come on Vontae!

WOW!!!!! this is discouraging

OK, dear Sean Smith, can you NOT GIVE YOUR WR A 10 YardCUSHION NEAR THE GOAL LINE NEXT TIME?!

Double damn

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible coverage by Sean Smith. Gave loads of cushion. And just stood there and watched.

Joe! What up?!

SEAN SMITH!

Oh no! A TD?

Season over!

(sike)

sean smith looked like he was asleep on that td...WTF!

Uh yeah BOTH teams are playing in a monsoon but the Bucs are not the ones looking like crap.

Boy the corners look strong so far hahaha

Credit that scoring drive to Vontae "jelly-head" Davis

Hey, Po...good to have you back

Guys come on its the first preason game last two years we where 4-0 in the preseason and it means NOTHING! Keep your heads up, I prefer they play sucky football in this 4 games than in the regular season!

7-9 here we go

you heard it here first

we still have the same OC calling the same boring players.

Smith is fighting to keep his spot. Not lookin to good.

Both corners gave up big plays... bad news... get well soon Will Allen!!!

Good to be back brother....

Wow last time I saw that amount of Mud was at a bar in the lower east side, Though it had two scantly clad women wrestling in it...

Corners have some work to do!

Test, shut up.

If the channel broadcasting the game could get their heads out of their azzzz long enough to give us some f'n audio it would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!!

Raheem Moris and Josh Freeman making us look like a high school team, not a good sign for this season.

The thing about Smith fighting to keep his job is no one is really good enough to beat him out with Will Allen injured.

Send some pics CM.

Henne need to look to makes some plays. He is a Starting QB not a game manager.

Vernon Carey-penalty-all year. No passing game-seemed to work well for Tampa! No one can tackle!

True Francisco Not to mention Nolan is keeping it very vanilla. Mando the qb looks good because hes throwin to wide open WRs.

Maybe Sean Smith should pay less attention to his Twitter account and more about actually making an interception.

might be nolan carroll and vonte starting the season opeaner if smith dosent start stepping it up.

If the Fins want Henne to throw check downs all day why haven't they drafted a RB that can break for a TD every time he touches the ball?

I understand Henne is supposed to take what the "D" gives him, but defenses are going to give him the check down on every down and shut everything else down. FRUSTRATING!

7-9 or 8-8 this year. The defense is still very suspect. ouch. Maybe next year boys

If the channel broadcasting the game could get their heads out of their azzzz long enough to give us some f'n audio it would be much appreciated!!!!!!!!!
