The live blog of tonight's Dolphins game versus Tampa Bay starts in the comments section of this post at 7 p.m.
I watched Chad Henne roll up in his Beemer and enter the stadium earlier this afternoon and I suddenly realized I am watching the start of what could be his entrance into NFL stardom. Let's hope.
You know that dawns on me how hopeful and yet uncertain things are for the Dolphins.
Take the defense: Mike Nolan's crew tonight starts two rookies (Jared Odrick and Koa Misi), two first-time starters (Cameron Wake and Chris Clemons),two second-year starters (Sean Smith and Vontae Davis), a player in a new position (Randy Starks), and a player on a new team (Karlos Dansby).
The Dolphins defense is the definition of brand new, untested and a package full of surprises.
On offense tonight I will be keeping my eye on the offensive line. I want to see this group start to come together. Amazingly, this is the third year of the Bill Parcells-Jeff Ireland-Tony Sparano plan in which they began to build from the interior out.
And they're still building.
Anyway, tonight's game is on NFL Network for satellite subscribers. It is on CBS-4 if you are in South Florida. You can otherwise catch it here online. And of course, I would appreciate if you join me during the live blog.

Sean, whose David Henne?

I wish we could have had good weather and not playing in the mud. I would love to know if it would have made a difference. Even so, we have to play in the same weather that they are. Sparano is gonna be up their butts all week.

What a jackass this commentator is. Talking about Bucs not having as much trouble in the rain but not realizing the Dolphins are starting in the mud every series and the bucs are starting on nice fresh grass. What a moron, at least mention that!

NOLAN!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Sean R. | August 14, 2010 at 08:04 PM
Finfan23 you are absoluetly right! Sparano is going to tear the O-line and the WR a new one. Starks looked good, Carrloo is looking great, Brown and Williams looked ready, O-line hast to come together, lets stop looking at this thing half empty. Henne will have a 23Td 11 Int season, you'll see.

Anyone want to bet that felonious scumbag Belichick is going to seed the clouds for a rainstorm on the day the Dolphins come to town?
Posted by: Lord Brandon-Karlos Dansby-Marshal | August 14, 2010 at 07:57 PM
Oh No, The Omly one that would think of that is......... "HOME"..........
Posted by: Cuban Menace | August 14, 2010 at 08:01 PM
No, Home is a sadly obsessed maniac with a one-track mind and a lousy prose style. I, on the other hand, am a sadly obsessed Dolphins fan with a two-track mind and a semi-decent prose style.

Carroll with a PD and a FF on consecutive plays.
Posted by: Bill Laimbeer | August 14, 2010 at 08:04 PM
That fumble was just too easy....
Posted by: Chris | August 14, 2010 at 08:05 PM
Jared Odrick get credit for recovering the fumble. Nate Ness gets credit for causing the fumble.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 14, 2010 at 08:05 PM
ODRICK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: DYINGBREED | August 14, 2010 at 08:05 PM
sO SUPPOSEDLY THE RAIN ISN'T EFFECTING THE BUCS. Why do they have two turnovers? Slipped ball on a throw and slippery ball pops out for fumble. Hmmmmmm....
Posted by: Sean R. | August 14, 2010 at 08:05 PM
check that....they are fast
Posted by: kris | August 14, 2010 at 08:06 PM
Looking at the replay, it was Nolan Carroll forcing the fumble.
Posted by: Armando Salguero | August 14, 2010 at 08:06 PM
carlito.. I have audiio... have you tried turning up the sound?
Posted by: TNPhinFan | August 14, 2010 at 08:06 PM
Nolan Carrol has announced his prescence. That didn't take long

Giovanni, not trying to be harsh just on a crusade to get rid of the old cliche "drinking the koolaid". Please stop! :)

And Pigpen enters the mud-wallow. He ought to be happy in there!
Posted by: Lord Brandon-Karlos Dansby-Marshal | August 14, 2010 at 08:07 PM
Get Ronnie Brown out of the game. This is a waste.

Posted by: Cuban Menace | August 14, 2010 at 08:07 PM
Smith might want to watch his back....
Nolan the new boy in town.
Posted by: Po White Trash | August 14, 2010 at 08:07 PM
Good grief! GET RONNIE OUT OF THERE! He doesn't need to test his broken foot in the mud.
Posted by: finfan23 | August 14, 2010 at 08:07 PM
Get Ronnie out of the game! WTF?
Posted by: Sean R. | August 14, 2010 at 08:07 PM
So Henne is being treated like an accomplished starting NFL QB. What a joke.He should be out there the rest of this quarter. Minimum.
Posted by: TommyA | August 14, 2010 at 08:07 PM
Andrew Gardner, you are running stadium steps on monday.
Yours truly,
Tony Sparano.
P.S I am thinner than Rex yes!

Why yes, Lord Menace-Bottoms is well known in this neck of the woods.. or should I say the Tiger-Woods?
Posted by: Lord Brandon-Karlos Dansby-Marshal | August 14, 2010 at 08:09 PM
How is he being traeted like a veteran QB? Veteran QBs get yanked after the first series. Henne was not.
Posted by: Sean R. | August 14, 2010 at 08:09 PM
He threw it into TRIPLE COVERAGE!!!! WOW!
Posted by: TommyA | August 14, 2010 at 08:10 PM
Definitely should throw into triple coverage way down the field. Yep that'll work.
Posted by: finfan23 | August 14, 2010 at 08:10 PM
Offense totally garbage!!!
Posted by: DYINGBREED | August 14, 2010 at 08:10 PM
Vintage Tyler Thigpen
Posted by: Bill Laimbeer | August 14, 2010 at 08:10 PM
sparano and this offense are offensive.
Posted by: boulderfinfan | August 14, 2010 at 08:10 PM
Thigpen overthrows Camarillo who is surrounded by three defenders. Was that bad judgement to throw the ball to an outnumbered defender? Or good to overthrow all of them? Meanwhile with three defenders on Camarillo there had to be another WR open.
Posted by: student1776 | August 14, 2010 at 08:11 PM
Brdon Fields has been a real bright spot too.
Posted by: DYINGBREED | August 14, 2010 at 08:11 PM
Thigpen is garbage. Great read, guy was double covered with a safety over the top and he throws it anyway. I have serious doubta as to this guys intelligence. Could'vce tied the pitt game last season with a kick and he throes a pick on a stupid pass. Sick of this guy
Posted by: Sean R. | August 14, 2010 at 08:11 PM
Sporano will bring the O back to earth...maybe they were drinking thier own cool-aid. I think the O came in to this game with the big head
Posted by: kris | August 14, 2010 at 08:11 PM
Camarillo is hurt - limping
Posted by: finfan23 | August 14, 2010 at 08:12 PM

Posted by: Sean R. | August 14, 2010 at 08:13 PM

Nolan needs to show some blitz packages
Posted by: BuckeyeFinFan | August 14, 2010 at 08:14 PM
Ok...
I have spent way to much time reading and listening to the experts say that the dolphins are on the verge of doing great things. So far they have done nothing to justify that.
My expectations were a bit high...I had envisioned a better start to the first game of the season.
Posted by: Giovanni Rey | August 14, 2010 at 08:14 PM
thank heavens for the defense
