Live blog of Preseason 2 begins here at 7:30

We're blogging live from EverBank Field starting at 7:30 p.m.

Meet me in the comments section for that extravaganza.

Things to look for tonight:

Biggest issue -- The interior offensive line. It is time to settle on some guards, folks. I reported last week that Joe Berger has won the starting job at center. But LG Richie Incognito, RG John Jerry, Cory Procter, and Donald Thomas have been mixed and matched so much we really cannot say with certainty the starting combo for the season opener is set. Yes, Jerry is a favorite to win a job. Obviously Incognito is getting his chance as well. But tonight will go a long way in deciding whether they keep their advantage. One thing to know is the club is somewhat disappointed that Thomas has not improved sufficiently as he gets ready to start his third season. The former rookie sensation hasn't really progressed as much as they hoped.

Interesting Issue One -- Patrick Turner was impressive in last week's preseason opener. Can he be a factor two weeks in a row? If he can, I would tell you he will all but assure himself of a roster spot. I want to believe that Greg Camarillo is going to make this team based on his history, experience and dependability. But I want to see Turner and Marlon Moore push him.

Interesting Issue Two -- The kick return spot makes me wonder what's going on because, let's face it, the team doesn't really want Patrick Cobbs to win the job. The Dolphins want someone else to be their primary guy with Cobbs as an offset returner. So my eyes are on Nolan Carroll. It could be a big night for Carroll. He's from the Jacksonville area. He's fast, he's got a reputation for having good hands, and he's going to be on the team. Watch to see if he makes a case for winning the job tonight.

Late-game reason to watch: Nate Ness has opened the eyes of coaches and with Will Allen's status uncertain through the first week of the season, the team is hoping Ness follows a nice outing against Tampa Bay with a nice outing against the Jags. We shall see.

I'll update here with any pregame news. Right now, it is raining at the stadium. But at least there is no mud because, well, there is no baseball infield.

See you at the live blog.

yeah, that wasn't C. Clemmons' fault, he was already trailing a receiver and had good coverage. I didn't understand why S. Smith felt it necessary to concern himself with the guy Clemmons was covering thus leaving his guy wide open.

I would have thought after cutting Grice-Mullen they would have bought in another possible return guy, since you know, it's a weakness. But Sparano brings in ANOTHER offensive lineman instead. I am hoping he will end this obsession with the OL and put a group out there and let them play and grow together. It is getting frustrating with this constant OL tinkering everyday

pat white is no doubt gone. he didnt really get many reps in practice either. he didnt improve.

I keep reading about how fast Nolan Carroll is. I am hoping to see some big returns tonight!

Enjoy the game everyone!

CRAP! apparently a thunderstorm is in the area? another bad weather game?
GRRRR!!!

Armando predraft I asked u about Joique Bell and u said your sources said he sucks. He also went undrafted. He now plays with the Bills.

I know its only preseason but game one he averaged over 10ypc and game 2 averaged over 7ypc. Seems I was the only high on this kid but now I have him as my darkhorse candidate for offensive rookie of the year.

Will love to be able to say I told you so to both the experts and u too Armando, lol.

channelsurfing.net

if this turns out to be another sloppy game, expect the starters to be out after 4 series!!

Officials are saying they won't let anyone on the field until 8 p.m. After modified warmup, they will kickoff around 8:20-8:30

What happened to Joique Bell ? i always thought he would be great .any one knows what happened to him ?

Armando,

How bad is the weather??? Is there a chance of the game not happening? I hope not...

Home, Are you also doing Inhalants like our Lil Friend Aloco???? Just wondering??? And what are your thoughts about the Weather in Jacksonville??? Could it be HARRP Related???

they need to play these games earlier in the day, no reason to wait so late to start a preseason game!!!!

LOL Hakeem Nicks and Ike Taylor just ejected for throwing punches... what do they think this is? Hockey?

FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

So far, they expect to play. The weather is supposed to move away by 8 p.m.

all good by new game time

HOME i've been saying since last year that the problem was never channing. it was porter and akin, its hard to show your true value to a team when you are sandwich between 2 sorry ass players. all porter wanted to do is rush the passer and quit on the play every time he realized we wouldnt get the sack, and akin, do i need to say much but free money must be nice!!!

Thanks dayingBreed FOR justin .tv...i got it ...thank you again.

did anybody else see och-O-stinko get lit up yesterday by the eagles safety, boy did i love seeing that, second game in a row he's been railed over!!!

Channing is a good starting ILB... not great, but more than serviceable

I wish Marshal would get rid of that number, Maybe the Phins should Retire that Number... Just saying...

I just ordered myself a crispy new #19 last week

this is a prime reason why we need to practice more in the rain! even if the move practice inside the bubble, whats a few more coins to put a water system inside to recreate some of these outdoor conditions

U do mean burn every single one right????

Um, Odin, on Crowder, what do you know that Tony Sparano does not?

Crowder will be the starter when he is healthy.

It doesn't matter who lines up beside Crowdwer. Dobbins is simply the better backer.

Crowder is one of the last holdovers, no more consistrntly shooting the wrong gap, no more being a day late and a dollar short.

Dobbins! Dobbins! Dobbins!

Yes Sir.

"I just ordered myself a crispy new #19 last week" - carlito ... Nice!

Dear Mr. Home

"HOME PREDICTS CHANNING CROWDER WILL HAVE HIS BEST SEASON EVER, ESP W/ TURNOVERS & FORCED FUMBLES"

Are you talking about the same Channing Crowder that I'm thinking about ?(Soiled(in the 3rd person)thinks about Channing Crowder groomed by Joey Porter)

Soiled :)

Odin,

Crowder is a good player... he had a down year in 2009, but should bounce back in Nolan's scheme and playing next to Dansby

channing is no RAY LEWIS, but he's just as GAME

Anyone ever see the great old Dolphin highlights on Youtube?

armando, talking to you is like finding gold in a cool mine .

Yo Armando, everybody!

Nice to be phins-blogging again after all the what-have-you with basketball nonsense. Time for some real sports.

First question, Armando - Chris Clemons? Real deal? I don't care that he's only made 3 mental mistakes or whatever Sparano's big thing is...can he regularly prevent the big play?
