Live blog of Preseason 2 begins here at 7:30

We're blogging live from EverBank Field starting at 7:30 p.m.

Meet me in the comments section for that extravaganza.

Things to look for tonight:

Biggest issue -- The interior offensive line. It is time to settle on some guards, folks. I reported last week that Joe Berger has won the starting job at center. But LG Richie Incognito, RG John Jerry, Cory Procter, and Donald Thomas have been mixed and matched so much we really cannot say with certainty the starting combo for the season opener is set. Yes, Jerry is a favorite to win a job. Obviously Incognito is getting his chance as well. But tonight will go a long way in deciding whether they keep their advantage. One thing to know is the club is somewhat disappointed that Thomas has not improved sufficiently as he gets ready to start his third season. The former rookie sensation hasn't really progressed as much as they hoped.

Interesting Issue One -- Patrick Turner was impressive in last week's preseason opener. Can he be a factor two weeks in a row? If he can, I would tell you he will all but assure himself of a roster spot. I want to believe that Greg Camarillo is going to make this team based on his history, experience and dependability. But I want to see Turner and Marlon Moore push him.

Interesting Issue Two -- The kick return spot makes me wonder what's going on because, let's face it, the team doesn't really want Patrick Cobbs to win the job. The Dolphins want someone else to be their primary guy with Cobbs as an offset returner. So my eyes are on Nolan Carroll. It could be a big night for Carroll. He's from the Jacksonville area. He's fast, he's got a reputation for having good hands, and he's going to be on the team. Watch to see if he makes a case for winning the job tonight.

Late-game reason to watch: Nate Ness has opened the eyes of coaches and with Will Allen's status uncertain through the first week of the season, the team is hoping Ness follows a nice outing against Tampa Bay with a nice outing against the Jags. We shall see.

I'll update here with any pregame news. Right now, it is raining at the stadium. But at least there is no mud because, well, there is no baseball infield.

See you at the live blog.

Carolina = Moore Putrid than last year

Mando, you left out the crusty french bread.
Sheesh, we should be in the middle of battle right now, instead of a culinary thing.LOL

OK. Just wondering. Who thinks we REALLY should settle for out TE's?
Not me. This has been a pet peeve forever, but really took hold watching Dallas Clark have his way with us last year.

Def droped the ball

I am going to steal your usual duty and tell the bloggers they should watch Gladiator on TNT until 9:00... great film

coffee & scotch?

Uh-O, im hearing 9pm kickoff might be pushed back to 9:30, say it aint so!!!

Welcome, PoppyDolphins!!!!

Bangkok is officially the furthest outpost of any Dolphins fan ever on this blog.

Yo that M o t h e r f u c k i n g M u r d e r i n g Master just stepped on the set.../

Hey Mando does John Jerry look like he has what it takes to hold down and be a solid player as a starting RG or is it just the others in the mix just haven't live up to expectations?

hey carlito

Soiled doing plau by play!

You go Bu-OY!

Game time y'all

hey odin

9 holy cow that means here in st. augustine the game wont be over til midnight!!! thats way past my bedtime.

Teams supposed to be on the field in 10 minutes but there is still lightning all around this stadium.

Sanchez almost throws a pick to end a drive...then carolina gives it back on punt return...sigh

thanks carlito,it's a good movie or you can have (( the water boy )) on FX for the dumb people among us .

thankx mando

you know its one thing to get rid of players that are considered veteran(in the league 4yrs) but its another to get rid of players 2 years in! im not saying pat is the player for this team rite now but sometimes you have to give a kid a chance to develop! i'm not a big fan of henne because he never beat OHIO ST and no game he played in college is bigger than that and he never won!! but b/c he plays for us i have to trust he will get better! and im sure white is the only QB in history to be labeled a bust with only five attempts. let the kid play in the preseason to show he cant play! we might be in for a surprise and it might be thigpen who gets traded before the preseason is over

Mother nature Hates Florida, God hates preseason!!!No win situation

i think we R addicted as Dolfans...a good thing lol

He's picking right back up where he left off last year.

JT, I believe John Jerry has IT. He's huge, nasty and moves well.

Give him time. He's not there right now. But in three years, he's going to be the second-best OL on team behind jake Long.

Good to see your with us.

God I hate waiting....

WQAM is no longer the Dolphins station. it's now 940-AM in so. fla., drsammi

Well atleast theres no infield!!

Sanchez sacked!!! I am a Panther fan today baby.

Me 2 Cuban Man

Thanks for the updates, hate living in Mass being a dolphins fan. Mando, there are always a few cuts where the players are not terrible but no room on teams. Like Malcome Kelly and possibly Antonio Bryant. Do you have any other names, or names where it looks the Dolphins may make a roster move if they are cut. I am not saying we would pick up either receiver i mentioned here, but what about other positions and names that could be possible....

Any chnace of Kory Sperry making the squad. He is from my little hometown of Pueblo, Colorado....

MANDO i can believe no one has asked you about the last post you put up, so here it is!!? WHAT THE HELL WAS YOU THINKING ABOUT THIS MORNING WITH THE POST ON JT'S WIFE!!! PLEASE EXPLAIN? NO DISRESPECT!! THX

hey Armando if you make it to the beach here try the shrimp tacos at landshark cafe. They are pretty awesome, with the sweet potato fries

AM does not reach Sarasota damn

Armando, Congrats on the radio show. Things have been insane at work, but hopefully soon, I can listen in online.

While I hope it doesn't get cancelled, am glad there were some delays, since I just got home!

Poizen, I don't have names yet. But I know the Dolphins will not keep all their old DEs.

They will try to find a DE from some 3-4 team's practice squad and sign him to their roster.

The idea is they won't have to be drafting for youth at DE next year -- AGAIN.

Dolphins4Life1973, I have always taken the position you have to give players time to develop, aka Turner. In this case though I don't think we can go into the season with a guy coming off 3 shoulder surgeries and Pat White who has shown less then nothing. I also think we shouldn't be carrying 4 QBs when some tough roster cuts will be happening. Pat White is the wrong guy in the wrong place at a critical time for the Dolphins.

How long will they delay a game before they cancel it?

Mando, who do you think is out in front for the fifth WR job??? Turner or Moore?? And does Moore return kicks?? He looked like he had some nice moves with the ball in his hands.

armando , when do you go to bed at night during the week to wake up for the show ? does the show require prep work or just walk in and be happy ??

Kenny, right now, without playing the game tonight yet, Turner is ahead. But that can change.

I think if Moore continues to impress, he gets signed to the practice squad. Roberto Wallace also.

I don't think we're having a game tonight.

would luv to see Turner make the 53

Aloco, I wake up at 3 a.m. to prep for the show.

I'm trying to get to sleep around 9 p.m. or so, but some nights later.

old de's, do you mean miami won't keep grant and douglas this year ? who'd they keep instead ?

Just got off the phone with my Pops in Westchester, He says he's glad it's delayed cause his Satellite Has been out for the past 30 minutes do to rain, Could this all be a HARRP conspiracy???? Home please chime in...

i hope the game is canceled and no injures .

My guess, they wont push this game past 10:15.

How would Miami learn anything if the game is canceled ? MNF used to start at 9pm, so chill.
