MINNEAPOLIS -- We're back from the Miami Dolphins locker room and I guess I could start typing a bunch of quotes that would give you the mood of the team following today's 14-10 victory over the Vikings.
But as you know, a picture is worth a thousand words. So consider the following video posted at Jeff Darlington's website as your view of the happenings in the happy locker room of a 2-0 Miami team:

DC Dolfan , yes but if we don't get ready tonight not tomorrow for the jets and win that game all that hard work go down the drain .
we got to sneak on the jets like our defense sneaked on MIN .
THE YELLOW EYES IS WORKING SO FAR .

Lot of people hatin' on my boys R & R.
Dan Henning's play calling is the real reason to be upset.
I'm sticking with Ricky and Ronnie.
You haters can just keep on hatin'.

ODIN, YES I HEARD THAT.I ALSO HEARD DAN MR BACALA SAYING ( FINS HAS NO CHANCE VS FAVRE )).
POLITE WAS HUGE TODAY ,THE ENERGY THAT DEFENSE PLAY IT W/IS AMAZING .
DALLAS COACH WILL BE FIRED TOMORROW .

Been a Dolphins fan for 30 years. Great to be 2-0 but please when are we going to allow Chad Henne to throw downfield more. Of should I say when he is not going to be so scared to get sacked and throw the darn ball. If the defence has to continue to bail us out they will be dead by the 8th game and we won't be scoring enough points to win. Henne is scared, and as a result we are not finishing our drives. Please open the game up with Marshall PLEASE!!!

Polite better go to the Pro Bowl this year. By the way, remember when we used to win in Sept./Oct. I do, that's when we used to make the playoffs in the 90's.
Plus this is the toughest part of our schedule (comparatively, the 2nd half of games are cakewalks).
Smells good in the air in Miami (and it's not from the Heat)!

"Work hard, and it will always pay off," Allen said after Sunday's 14-10 win over Minnesota. "So I've just been working hard, busting my butt every day at practice, continue to get better."
That attitude paid off in training camp, when Allen wrested a starting job away from Sean Smith. And it paid off again Sunday when Allen, who has started just 14 games in four-plus NFL seasons, had by far the best game of his career.
Starting CB Jason Allen finished with a career-high 11 total tackles, second-most on the team, batted away three passes and picked off Brett Favre twice in the second half.

Right on Tom, don't stop there. How many catches did Bess have? Fasano? You now have the surrounding cast to help Henne reach his potential. Let the guy develop. Don't give him free reign, but don't run right into the teeth of the best part of the opposing team play in and play out. Diversify (I'd hate to see Henning's stock portfolio).

ODIN, THE CLE COACH MANCINI WILL NOT BE HIRED AGAIN BY ANY TEAM AFTER 0-2.
Posted by: ALoco | September 19, 2010 at 08:56 PM
all i hear is that henne is not good. if the ricky and ronnie did not fumble this game would have been won much easier and we probably would have score one more time. i do think henning is holding henne back. he needs to let him go. with our running backs and marshall at wr, we should almost always have another wr or te open.
but like i said earlier, 2 wins on the road and today against te vikings i take the win if it was ulgy or pretty. Go Dolphins next week will be huge game.

One thing is becomming very clear... The talking heads have REALLY missed it so far this season.
Who has not felt like the only teams playing in the NFL were Dallas, Indy, The Wets, G-men and Minnesota? Hell, they have even given the Champs a cold shoulder.
Predictive journalism is fun and all... but these days you have people taking it as Golden.... Even Greenie & Golic on ESPN Radio calls their picks "Lead Pipe Locks" (I don't know, maybe that's bad?)
All I know is teams who are supposedly going nowhere... are doing good... and the "SUPER TEAM,TALKING HEAD,LOVE JOY'S" Suck....

Sure the D played great today but good teams are going to score and the Dolphins look lost every time they need a score to get back in the game. The Dolphin offense plays scared and therefore the team hardly ever plays with a lead.
I’d like to see this D play with a lead sometime. A lead of more than 10 forces most teams to pass and I believe that pass defense is becoming a strength for the Dolphins. I bet the D would cause a lot of havoc playing with a more consistent lead.
Looking for the Dolphins to deliver a drubbing this next Sunday night. Go Dolphins!

Big, big game. The most important part is the win. However, the offence manages just 7 points today. One deep pass connection on the first play then back to check downs and no willingness to go after the Vikings deep.
This style of play is not going to get it done. When your offense style means you score very few points then Henne has to be perfect. Being perfect is hard to do in the nfl and the pressure remains on the D too because one play could have brought the game to a tie or a loss today.
I’d love to see the Dolphins bring in Vincent Jackson and try to pass the ball downfield at least 10 times a game. I truly do not believe the Dolphins can be a contender until the team learns how to put points on the board.

Derek, it's such trash. Cause these hosts all have their favorites (even if he's 60 years old), and they think they are always going to be on top. The only team really that should be getting props is the Saints, and you're right, no one talked about them before the season. The old regime is being displaced, the new kids on the block are hungry. You can't automatically predict Brady and the Pats will win the AFC East, sorry.

hey armondo could you grow a set and ask parcels, or sporano, or irreland whoever if they don't trust henna then why is he in there, take the gloves of we need some offense, the defense must be wore out from being on the field so much today.

Actually, if you go back and watch the tape Henne had a good outing as far as learning and developing goes.
He had some nice touch passes, especially the TD to Hartline. He also looked a lot more comfortable going through his reads. This against Jared Allen and the Williams Wall!
Most importantly, at least in my opinion, was something I've never noticed him do before. He went through his reads all the way down to his check down guy, that happened to be Polite. In doing so, the corner came off of Hartline and keyed on Polite. Henne looked off Polite at the last second and completed the pass downfield to Hartline.
This is a major step in the development of a young QB. It teaches him how to not give up on a play(ie always going to the checkdown) and it teaches him something he needs a lot of work on. HOW TO LOOK OFF THE DEFENDERS!
I swear to God I saw it click in his head today and I'll bet he's watching it on film right now as I'm typing this.
2-0 and we're going HOME!

Dolphins win the east if they get cp10 in at qb. Henne isnt ready and may never be. This will be clear after the next two weeks hopefully they find a way to win despite the play calling and their panty qb.

I THINK SOME PEOPLE WILL GO STEALING THEIR MOMS TO GE TO THE GAME.
Posted by: ALoco | September 19, 2010 at 09:27 PM
I think some of you still suffer from Marinoitis, and don't seem to realize that QB's often take time to grow into "the guy". See Drew Brees for a current classic examle. SD thought so little of Drew's first two years they drafted Rivers. That year...he went off, and NOW look at him. Henne is JUST FINE. He is already a solid game manager. The more time he and Marshall play together...the better they will get. The better they get, the more it will open up the rest of the offense. GIVE IT TIME...jesus...some of you are just wayyyyy too impatient.

I have been a dolphins fan for a lot of years, way before Marino, love them thru the good and bad, but that does not mean I cant call like I see it, Henne is not going to get us to the promised land, maybe he is being held back, the coaches see a lot more than we do, I am just saying if they don't trust him then how can we. you can't keep saying he needs time to develop
Posted by: dolfan1873 | September 19, 2010 at 09:50 PM
Just for a bit of perspective:
When is the last time we came out the gate 2-0?
When is the last time we got back to back road victories?
When is the last time we were alone atop the AFC East?
I was thinking the same thing today as I was thinking last year when we played the Colts, Saints, etc. We played those guys tough but we didn't get it done.
Well today we turned the corner with style and in a dramatic fashion.
A couple more corners and we got the block and the whole Hood!
This Is Our House!!!!

Irving,
NO, but I'll give you a Whoop-WHOOOOOOOOOP!!!!

Jason Allen?
WTF?
I'm glad to see him doing do well. He's beem goated for a long time.
Way to go man! Keep it up!
However I'm still not ready to forgive Nick Satan.

I've been telling my buddy for 2 years that I thought Jason Allen was pretty good. Maybe not lockdown, but pretty darn good. I am SOOOOOOO FN glad he's playing well. He is really stepping up and should get some cred now.

Dolfan1873,
Somebody just posted about Drew Brees and his development. Are you one of those people that pays nobody no tention and just shoot off da Mouf?
There's only 32 teams, that means 32 starting QB's. This is professional sports and these guys perform at the highest level. It takes time to perfect your game Weezy!
Henne's 9-6 as a starter, that's less than a rookie season. Duh, ah, yuk yuk, yeah, ya think we can at least give the guy one season before we ice him?
Parcells drafted him and Sporano starts him week in and week out. There's only one guy in this regime that seems to have a trust issue with him, can you guess who it is??????

Aloco,
You were here when we signed Wake. I posted about the guy from the CFL for a straight month. His work ethic, his non-stop motor and how the guy was going to be a beast in the NFL.
I said everything I could say about Wake way back then. You knew as well as I did that all he needed was the chance.
I just thought of one more thing I can say about him. That sack and strip in the endzone reminded me of Lawrence Taylor!

Posted by: R & R EXPRESS | September 19, 2010 at 10:24 PM
really proud of Jason Allen. I've certainly thrown my share of critism at him but today he was all pro. Great Job...keep it going now!
Posted by: pancanfinfan | September 19, 2010 at 10:25 PM
It's amazing guys are ready to write off Henne after only 15 starts. Some of you guys amaze me. He's 9-6 in those starts. He's a young kid who is holding up very well under the pressure. He's going to get nothing but better as time goes along. Once again, you 'experts' think you know better than Bill Parcells and David Lee. So spout off all you want.....your opinions.....and that's all they are....mean squat!!!
Posted by: Craig M | September 19, 2010 at 10:27 PM
I said throughout the week it would require forcing multiple turnovers to win, yet it took an even greater performance by our defense to win this one. I can tell you this, the way we ran the ball today, against that defense, tells me we are going to be very difficult to beat. Marshall is simply uncoverable when they run the intermediate passing tree. A great, great win today. Teams are simply going to hate playing us. Minnesota is one of the few teams who offers complete balance on offense, and we made countless big plays, with seemingly everyone getting in on the act. You gotta love it.
Posted by: bootang25 | September 19, 2010 at 10:30 PM
hey odinseye, we are winning games with defense not because of henne
Posted by: dolfan1873 | September 19, 2010 at 10:07 PM
-dolfan I'm not sure how you're relating your initial post to this one. Are you just drifting across "issues" or is there some convoluted point here?
For the rcord, Henne has outscored our defense to this point.
Henne is not going to get us to the promised land,
-You probably have not even seen all of Henne's games at Michigan let alone all the ones as a Dolphin. Yet you know better than Parcell's, who drafted him and Sporano that starts him? Dude, I got an idea! Why don't you send youe resume to Stephen Ross?
maybe he is being held back, the coaches see a lot more than we do, I am just saying if they don't trust him then how can we.
-Again, if Parcell's spent a 2nd rounder on him and Sporano is starting him over the most accurate passer in NFL HISTORY, It'd be a safe bet they trust him. Don't ya think?
you can't keep saying he needs time to develop
Posted by: dolfan1873 | September 19, 2010 at 09:50 PM
--Why not? The guy has started less games than Sanchez for christ's sake.
You know what's really ironic? I'm completely toasted and you, well, your you. Tomorrow, I'm going to be sober and you, well, your still going to be you ;P
Posted by: odinseye | September 19, 2010 at 10:31 PM
Hennings playcallng would stink regardless who the QB was it is just his style and has nothing to do with trusting henne or not.
Imo Hennings calls are our biggest obstacle to overcome and i like smash mouth run it down your throat football.
my problem is you hit Beast on the first play for a big gain then thats it. ok see henne can throw the deep ball now back to dink and dunk.
Now im very happy we came out with a win but this is another game that should have been a blow out with a more aggressive O.
maybe Mike Nolan should spend sometme with our O.
2-0 lets go phins!!!!
we win the next two and we are in control of the AFC east!!!
Posted by: finfaned | September 19, 2010 at 10:32 PM
First of all, congrats to all the true Dolphin fans!
If this were last year, we would have found a way to loose the game, see the saints and colts' games. This is a true sign of maturity by our defense.
Props to our coaches for giving Jason Allen another shot and not being caught up in the draft hoopla. You simply put the better player on the field! It doesn't matter if Smith was taken first overall. I've said it all along, Allen plays with swagger and he's always around the ball. You could always sense that he was close. The fact that he stuck with it and didn't let all the negativity detract his game speaks of his mental toughness.
Having said that, we need to change our play-calling on offense. It is unacceptable for us to be shut out in the second half. Not when you have the best receiver in the league. This is why we drafted the guy, to get the tough YAC's. Our offense is not much different than Houston's. They have Johnson/Walter and we have Marshall/Hartline. However they got 500 yards on offense today. Why not us? It surely would have put the game away much earlier and given fans less ulcers. Why do we always take it to the wire?
At some point we are going to need more than 14 points to keep up with the juggernauts like Green Bay and the New England.
Why wait until we are down 17 to open up our offense? Wake up Henning. But then again, maybe he doesn't know any better.

Anybody got the early injury report?
I think we got outta Minny unscathed.
Posted by: R & R EXPRESS | September 19, 2010 at 10:34 PM
Bootang,
I do love it and I'm pumped.
I agree with everything you said about the offense. That's what got my panties in such a bunch.
This offense can be absolutely dominant! I might be wrong, but I'd swear an oath that If I was calling the plays today we would've scored 30+.
PS: This is probably the liquor talking, so please disregard all my posts for the night!
AwwwwwRiiiiiiiight MIAMI!!!!
