The Dolphins final full practice before leaving to Buffalo? Routine for the most part.
On Friday the Dolphins put the finishing touches on their prep work for the Bills and, once again, inside linebacker Channing Crowder (groin) did not participate. As I told you yesterday on this blog, it just does not seem plausible for Crowder to play in the regular season opener.
[UPDATE: Crowder is listed as questionable on Friday's injury report. Jake Long (knee) is listed as probable after practicing all week, even if on a limited basis. Wide receiver Brandon Marshall (ankle) is listed as probable. Marshall practiced fully on Thursday and Friday.]
I don't believe Crowder will even make the trip. I bet you hear reports of the Dolphins leaving him home by this time Saturday.
As for how he's looking, don't believe me. Believe your eyes from this video, courtesy Jeff Darlington's Miami Minute upload:
The Bills, by the way, are having linebacker issues of their own. Reggie Torbor was declared out for this game. So was Antonio Coleman. They also placed Kawika Mitchell on injured reserve on Thursday. The Bills are expected to go into Sunday's game with only three linebackers.
That's usually bad news for a 3-4 defense that needs four linebackers to just be on the field. I remind you, however, that the Bills used a 4-3 look in their final preseason game.
One more thing: Akin Ayodele, who was signed Thursday will not be active for the game, according to head coach Chan Gailey.

If we can't beat the bills this weekend, when they only have 3 freaking LBs, a no name Qb and a completely new coaching staff, Off/Def philosophies,I will probably lose my mind

I will say this about him though,9 years ago tommarrow, he helped many people in Manhattan on his off day, heard the news and rushed to the Trade center without fear of his life,We met 4 years later after he was wheeled in to my emergency room with a gun Shoot wound to his abdomen, and yet he goes out out ever day and gives his best against the worse people in this world. That's why I'am with this guy. HOT ASHLEY.

is there a tie breaker question like rushing/rec leaders and yards????
Posted by: finfaned | September 10, 2010 at 05:32 PM
I predict that Crowder will not be here next season. Everytime I focus on him he seems to be getting blocked on everyplay. When he does tackle its five yards down the field.

Fins-27
Bills-13
Also. does anyone else think that Armando is mistaking his Blog for his Tweets. I think you can write more than 140 characters on a Type Pad blog right? Just saying it seems his blog has kind of been a little paltry lately as compared to last year.

Cuban Menace,
Are you seriously predicting a Phins loss?
Say it ain't so brother. You do know that if you predict a loss and we win, you're setting yourself up for a "bashing" here?
Posted by: odinseye | September 10, 2010 at 05:58 PM
I predict that win or lose, nobody will have it worse than us to have to interpet Sparanos press conference afterwards
Posted by: The Press | September 10, 2010 at 06:01 PM
Odin, My "Norse" Warrior friend, This might be the only way the fins win, By predicting a Loose they might just win, That's my theory...

Gotta give Sean his props, he never stops talking or twittering. I really do like his attitide, he will be fine
Posted by: bobbyd12 | September 10, 2010 at 06:21 PM
He sucks anyway. He is always hurt and isn't dependable. He is good but not great at playing the run but horrible covering the pass. He is an average player. Dansby and Dobbins or Micah Johnson won't miss a beat without all talk no action Crap-Head, I mean Crowder!
Posted by: Andy NJ | September 10, 2010 at 06:22 PM
Or look good with Evans catching a 54 yd TD against him...
Posted by: Cuban Menace | September 10, 2010 at 06:22 PM
If all Armando can write about injury wise is Channing Crowder, I think were doing alright.
Still, what I would really like to know is if Clifton Smith will see any action?
Signing Smith was overshadowed by Parcell's announcement. This could be a key pickup. Anybody agree/disagree?
Posted by: odinseye | September 10, 2010 at 06:24 PM
Odin, Not sure....Jury still out..
Posted by: Cuban Menace | September 10, 2010 at 06:27 PM
MIAMI IS WHACK, CANT TAKE THAT BACK
WHEN THEY COME TO THE STATE OF BUFFALO, THEY WILL FIND THE BILLS A NASTY DATE. FOR THE WAGONS ARE FAR FROM BURNING TO SEE THAT MIAMI IS STILL LEARNING THEIR PLAYBOOK WHICH THEY MAY NOT SHOW TILL WEEK THREE . HOW TO GET MARSHALL TO PLAY WITHOUT HAVING ALL THE PROBLEMS BUT IN THE END HE TURNS OUT TO BE NOTHING BUT A MAD MONEY GREEDED GREEN GOBLIN. SPARANO WILL TRY HARD AS HE MIGHT BUT LEARN THAT NO ONE IS AS GOOD AS PARCELLS IN A REBUILDING FIGHT. SCORE AS THEY MIGHT COME SUNDAYS GAME, WILL MATTER NOT SAYS BUFFALOS NAME.
TAKE THIS AS IT IS SPOKEN BY THE MAD PROPHET WHO IS THE BAD FORTUNE TO MIAMIS CHOKIN^^^^^^^
Posted by: MadProphet | September 10, 2010 at 06:29 PM
The Menace brings up some good questions:
Do we stick Vontae on Evans the entire game?
Or do we let the guy line up against Jason and Sean?
Another couple of questions:
Do we put a spy on Spiller?
If yes, who?
Posted by: odinseye | September 10, 2010 at 06:30 PM
Odin, Screw the spy, I say put a Bullet on Spiller.....I Seen him burn the canes...

I look forword to a heated battle this sunday.
Score will be low and injuries may alter the outcome.
But in the end I suspect Channing Crowder will kill the Gator
Soiled :)
Posted by: SoiledBottom | September 10, 2010 at 07:16 PM
Anyways, did anybody notice the the little get-together before players came to middle of the field for coin toss, thumbs raising in air to let owners know where they stand with negotiations. If that doesnt spell lockout next year, what does?!!!!I hear Bills and Dolphins doing same thing sunday before game. As a fan of the NFL im sure thats a great idea guys. I'm sure the thousands of regular American workers who are seeing their jobs cut or reduced will be really impressed by your solidarity. Well done. NOT

this regime is HORRIBLE and the FINS will suffer another 5 yrs for all their mistakes..
this could actually become worse than Wannstache when all is said and done......
Posted by: creep | September 10, 2010 at 07:32 PM
superPhin- That's the problem, these guys aren't just regular American workers. They have every right to make as much money as they can while they can. It's difficult to understand because the numbers seem so inflated, and ridiculous. Put yourself in one of their shoes. would you take a pay cut just for the good of the orginization, knowing that if you got hurt, started to age, or just couldn't compete anymore that they could and would cut you loose at any point, because it is "best for the orginization at this point" It is terrible the economic turmoil that most Americans are dealing with now. But holding a grudge against a few that the cards fell the right way for doesn't really make sense to me.

Random musing from a Buffalo Sports writer:
One unit that has concerned me over the preseason, and one that will be vitally important this week is the linebacking corps. So far, so bad for this group.
There has been talk that George Edwards may even feature more 4-3 than we anticipated due to the difficulty that personnel has had with adapting to the 3-4 concept.
If the linebackers do not improve with run fits in the 3-4, Miami will run all over this defense, imposing its will on the outcome of the game.
Reggie Torbor is back and figures to start for the Bills at OLB for the opener. Hopefully his knowledge of the Dolphins attack as well as his experience with the 3-4 will help the linebackers prepare for this week.
Obviously this was written prior to Torbor being shelved. Big loss for the Bills, this Torbor guy sounds like an important mentor type for the defense.
