GREEN BAY -- Victory!
Dan Carpenter nailed a 44 yard field goal with 9:01 left to play in overtime to give the Dolphins a 23-20 victory over the Packers today.
Amazing.
The Dolphins have a 3-2 record. All three victories have come on the road for the nomads.
Both teams had the opportunity to drive the ball in the overtime period. The Dolphins had one more chance and made the most of it, moving 26 yards in seven plays for the score.

Not an easy place to win !!! congrats

There are perhaps 2 maybe 3 Qb's on the planet that play mistake free football on a regular basis. Henne played well enough for us to win this week, so there shouldn't be any complaining about how crappy of a quarterback he is. Can he improve? Of course. but that can be said about just about every QB. on every team. We won the game try and enjoy it. By the way the donkeys just kicked a 59 try fg. 10-7 donkeys over the jets

To "that Guy"
Maybe you should petition the NFL to reverse the final outcome of this game to 31-7 Green Bay. After your scathing synopsis of the Dolphins, there was no way we should even have competed today. Perhaps we should have just forfeited. Also, ask yourself, "Did anyone apologize for beating Dan Marino in his own house when he had a substandard team around him?" If your answer is "yes" then you are delusional.

henne wonderlic not great at 22

marino's score was 15
Posted by: spillmar | October 17, 2010 at 05:37 PM
we need to play every game like this. ITs ugly but this team is not in a place where we can air it out. Run the ball and play great defense. You can win a lot of games that way in the nfl.

Good game all around on Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. Hustle and Intensity on both sides of the ball, however, Henne still needs to be smoother through his progressions and look off the safety or other corner, like the other STARTING quarterbacks in the league.
I still don't understand the REVERSE while moving the ball in the fourth quarter, Henning is trying to fool the Packers instead of cramming it down their throats like they did all game...stats don't lie. Running and Passing the ball all over the field and a REVERSE loses 3 or 4 yards and a holding penalty by Lydon Murtha makes it 2nd and 23 instead of a manageable down and distance. Could've been more points ????
Don't want to be negative, but, that AGAIN was a game changer, along with the INT thrown to Brandon Marshall's man, jeez, Dan can we throw to anyone else ??????

Any time someone is critical of Henne, the Henne apologists retort that "no one is perfect". DUH??!!
NOBODY IS ASKING FOR HENNE TO BE PERFECT. We'd like for him to just be good. We're asking for him to stop staring down his receivers on every play, throwing late on every play and absolutely stinking when the game is on the line. The next time our receivers catch a ball IN STRIDE will be the first for this season.
Henne has been awful more times this year than good. FACT.

Here's something nobodies mentioned yet! The wildcat was left in his gage at the zoo! Whataya know a victory!!! The wolf should eat the wildcat while he's sleeping so the wolf gets full, and the wildcat dies!

I like the direction of the team and the intensity, but, I feel like we need more smash mouth football against Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and the remaining teams on the schedule.
Based on our stats we should have scored 30 points or more, but, we seem to play too conservative on Offense, other teams seem to throw the ball DOWN THE FIELD and did Fasano have a catch before his touchdown?
We need to start out scoring teams and force them to put up big point totals to beat US, not the other way around....just a few thoughts....NO NEGATIVITY, just want more big plays, we have the playmakers....

GREAT COACHING ,NOT TO LISTEN TO THE DONKEY FANS.

GIVE HENNE A RAISE BEFORE HE FLEES TO ANOTHER TEAM .

I was pretty critical Of Henne on some of his passes today. I am currently watching Oakland/SF. Maybe I was too harsh.
Posted by: turd ferguson | October 17, 2010 at 05:59 PM
Hey Boulder,
I couldn't agree more, but, we do have the players to stretch the field after the running game pounds it for a lot of yards, with Hartline, Roberto Wallace, and Marlon Moore, and of course, Brandon Marshall as evidenced by the deep ball to Marshall in the Minnesota game. I see other teams throwing it deep, take a freaking shot Henning, and we might hit a big one?
Posted by: Big Jim and the Twins | October 17, 2010 at 05:59 PM
Great win today.
One thing that no one can deny is the coaching on this team is BAD. Clock control, timeouts, play calling...
I hope they decide to bring Cowher next year.

Man this victory over the GreenGay Packers was needed big time guys. All around not too bad..some little issues to clean up but I think I started to see some gel squeezing out of our team...good stuff guys, congrats to the team and fans for a big time win today! By the way...is Dansby ok? i havent heard any reports yet...that could be good or bad...Mando??

I want some exapmles of what plays Henne locked on to his reciever, or did not go through his progressions. Don't use the interception because that was obvious. I must have been watching a different game because none of these thing that Henne has struggled with seemed like a problem today. Perhaps some innacuracy at times, but after the INT. I thought Henne played well.

I agree with you. Lets hope that he gets better this year, even do he seems very slow.
The pass to bess on the right side on 3 and 6 he took for ever to find him.
Even the TV commentators made note of it..

one thing I noticed is that when refs call jets for their "aggressive" play the curtain is pulled on how really week they are without refs turning blind eye. jets are mediocre

I don't hate Henne, I just hate that the reason we use Henne over Pennington is that Henne has a arm to throw the out passes, and throws over 20 yards, yet we don't take advantage of this. The things that Pennington does really well is move the ball down the field. So my point here is use Henne for the talent and skill he has or put Pennington in. Also why in the world with 3 seconds left and the ball at the 50 do you not put up a hail mary pass jumpball for Brandon Marshall to go get. We could have getten a PI, or a jump ball TD. I just don't understand not using the positive situations when they are there.

Home, thanks for pumping up the fans on kick returner Nolan Carroll, when they were all whining about wanting Ted Ginn back. Ted Ginndoes in fact only have those two kick return tds in his entire nfl career.
Nolan Carroll had a darn good day. Thanks for setting the whiners straight!

Good win today, one terrible call by ref after having the benefit of replay is totally unacceptable. Could have cist us the game. Need to come home and win one on OUR field.

You and i were right on starting corner back.
Jason Allen is actually plating better stat wisw than Vontae Davis.
Another interception today for Jason Allen. Double didget tackles and did you see Jason Allen1s stop on the 1 yard line.
Home,
I gave Sean another shot, but C`Mon Man. Another whiff on an easy interception, in his fu!@#@# hands and right threw.
Good call on benching POSER BOY!
This FRAUD is not even worth a nickel.

Henne's interception was more a fantastic play by the defender than a mistake by Henne.
Polite's failure on 3rd and 1 was all about the complete lack of push by the blockers.
Henning still makes a bunch of "scratch your head" calls, which brilliant calls like the pass to Fasano does NOT excuse.
