Dolphins beat the Packers 23-20 in overtime

GREEN BAY -- Victory!

Dan Carpenter nailed a 44 yard field goal with 9:01 left to play in overtime to give the Dolphins a 23-20 victory over the Packers today.

Amazing.

The Dolphins have a 3-2 record. All three victories have come on the road for the nomads.

Both teams had the opportunity to drive the ball in the overtime period. The Dolphins had one more chance and made the most of it, moving 26 yards in seven plays for the score.

Yep, some...most...of these hits Are football hits..whats next flags around the waist's?? This hitting penalty is rediculous! So are the jets getting yet another phantom pass interference call to get the go ahead TD..thier luck will run out soon..

BREAKING: Dolphins make Davone Bess highest-paid slot receiver with 2-year extension...HOPEFULLY HE STILL PLAYS WITH THE FIRE OF A GUY THAT WAS TO STAY..DOLPHINS4LIFE!

1st half 3rd and two...open backfield...why? If you want to throw in that situation, why not play action.

4th and goal for Packers following TO...defense not even ready, no defensive linemen in position, a defensive back was the only thing in place to stop the sneak.

Sparano should be grilled on this stuff and it seems like hands off from the media, he is not that impressive and may not be the one for long term scenario.

We were fortunate to win. I'll take it, because we needed this win badly. However, I take exception to taking a knee with four seconds left in regulation. You have a QB with a strong arm, three receivers around 6' 4", and nothing but a chance to MAYBE make something happen before overtime.

This is why we will never be a contender in the near future. We epitomize a team that "plays to not lose" rather than a team that "plays to win". If we were worried about the potential of a Packer intercepting the ball with no time on the clock and returning it 100+ yards for the winning score, we truly have no self-confidence at all.

Shameful, Coach Sparano. Sorry to bring this up, but that never would have happened when Marino was playing. You have to believe you can win before you can actually win consistently.

DENVER -- LaDainian Tomlinson broke the Broncos' hearts again shortly after the field judge reached into his pocket to the disbelief of the orange-clad crowd.

L.T. scored his second touchdown from 2 yards out with 73 seconds left after a 46-yard pass interference flag on fourth down and the New York Jets rallied past Denver 24-20 on Sunday.

LaDainian Tomlinson scored twice Sunday for yet another multi-TD game. LT is now two games away from tieing the NFL's all-time touchdowns leader for games with multiple scores.

On fourth-and-6 from the Denver 48, Denver safety Renaldo Hill and Jets receiver Santonio Holmes jostled near the goal line and the ball fell incomplete as the crowd went crazy.
But field judge Gary Cavaletto called pass interference on Hill, who had grabbed Holmes' face mask with a couple of fingers on his right hand while both fell to the turf.
"Good thing the ref was right there to make that call," Holmes said.
The yellow flag left the Jets (5-1) feeling fortunate heading into their bye and the Broncos (2-4) forlorn.
"It could be debatable," Jets coach Rex Ryan said. "But we don't care, we'll take it."

Somewhere around here I commented about my conspiracy beliefs that the media, TV, etc want the Jets in the SB. Around 5PM Eastern, I believe. How many times over the past few seasons has this call gone against US? Case closed.

YEP CHRIS BERMAN ..ALL THOSE GUYS ON FOOTBALL SHOWS WANT THE JETS IN THE SUPERBOWL..ROGER GODDELL ALSO IS A BIG JET FAN ..AND THE SAD THING IS THE REFS HAVE THE POWER TO PUT THEM IN THE SUPERBOWL.AND THE MEDIA HYPEING THEM AND MAKEING THEM BELIEVE IT..NEWYORK HAS A LOT OF POWER''SEE THE YANKEES...DOLPHINS4LIFE!

I will take every ugly, close, rugged, grind it out type win we can get!!! The "W" still counts for playoff qualifying.

I will say Darryl D that you do have quite a bet to collect my friend...LOL.

Couple things while it's still fresh...

Ronnie did get the 1st down! When his kneee was down, the ball was farther advanced... meh, it's always gonna be slightly flawed with human refs instead of electronic GPS marked footballs.

I don't feel so bad as that was a terrible call vs GB for the lining up over our center incorrectly on a punt. That was a crazy letter of the law and not a spirit of the law call but it worked for us so whatevs. The guy was like 3 yards off the LoS and didn't blow up our Center anyways... In most any game you can boil things down to a few things.

What the HELL??? I hope I am NOT alone with the LAME practice of NOT being set and damn ready to play DEF for EVERY SNAP! The fact that Bell was looking the other way when Rogers snapped the ball and waltzed into the end zone is unthinkable... especially in that alignment and situation! Grrrrr. The whole game they had been "not getting set" and kinda playing too loose for many snaps in the game. That particular play it just showed up much more.

Henne still has some throws waaay out of bounds or inaccurate. I hope he gets better as the season wears on. It doesn't matter if he is 2nd year guy or not. At least by how far he is off target sometimes. Henne doesn't have much success rolling out either, unless he can reset his feet. I like Henne, I just want to see improvements as he develops.

The Jets and Pats both could have easily lost today but, they both have good teams that battle. At least we kept the pace.

Pitt is next...LET'S SHOCK THE KNOW-IT-ALLS and WIN! Go Phins!
