Dolphins lose to Steelers 23-22 in another home loss

They came close.

But, as with all thing Dolphins at home this year, not close enough to matter.

The Dolphins were victimized by poor play-calling, poor officiating, poor coverage in the secondary and poor fan participation (yes, I said it. The stadium was like a morgue early on).

And the result is a 23-22 loss to Pittsburgh.

Your thoughts?

Alright, another dissapointment and im sure sparano will find all the positives in this loss in his news conferences to come(at least half coherantly understandable) cincy next, bright side is their defense just surrendered 40 points today, so i guess that means FG's are a plenty for next week as well.......PHIN OUT!!!!

CORNER GOT BEAT DEEP AGAIN WITH NO SAFETY HELP!

great players make coaches look good. i am sure henne can audible, but his intellegence has to be questioned...either that or his guts. the guy shows no passion. you tell me the last super bowl winning quarterback who showed no passion. he is robotic in his reads and his reactions. clearly henning has to go, but henne should join him. this is a `quarterback driven league". this difference today was their quarterback has won two super bowls. henne is a relic of parcells past. a quarterback who manages the game well, and a ball control offense. won't work in them modern NFL. this is one reason parcells left. the MOST important decision he make was to go with henne as the future quarterback.

they called time out because the play clock would of ran once the spotted the ball and pitt would of took it down to the 2minute warning so he saved 38 seconds

suck suck suck

HILLIARD MAKES A "LAST MAN STANDING TACKLE ON A KICK OFF"! OR IT'S ANOTHER BUSTED ONE!

Bring Jon Gruden, and send mr. Mario to New jersey, another game, and the team was no ready to play.
Send OC to a home far away and send his Social Security Ck. to a gay Organization in San Francisco

I live in seattle now, couldnt help but think of the super bowl as worthless burger went for the touch down, makes me sick. I thought after watching the replay that 4-2 was ours, but i had this feeling , just like the SB, BTW fire henning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

like i said bad teams blame the refs. we had every opp to win this game. they play scared, staff is awful

"My judgment is that HENNE's not an NFL quarterback, I'll leave it at that."

FIVE 5 CINCO F'N FIELD GOALS!

I understand Miami still had time to score after the blown call, but that call had to really demoralized the whole team and the fans in the stadium.. It feels like crap when you just realize you got FCukedddd.. Hard to believe you can win after something like that..

I say let miami have the ball back put the ball on the 20 and let them finish it out. In Every game that has a wrong/bad call that alters the game with atleast 3min left, should be reviewd and finished the next day

Ronnie Brown sucks...really.
Henne or "Check-down Chad" as I call him cannot throw the ball down field like Big-Ben...this is obvious to anyone with eyes.
Pennington would have gotten the team down the field in that 2 min drill to put us in field goal range.
I still don't feel Henne has "it" to take us deep into the playoffs...he made some really nice throws, but lacks those intangibles that get you into the playoffs, sorry but that's how I see it.

THE NFL IS FIXED. Every game is not predetermined however, every game is biased towards certain teams and NFL Officials are given license to create new ways of giving the edge to the favored teams.

it should have not come down to the end

if we played to win the game...

but tony plays for fist pumps

Ben fumbles and we recovered! thats it.
its our ball!!!!!!
they robbed us!!!
and our O playcalling sucks.
I Want Henning Fired In The Morning!

HEy guys BAL 34 vs BUF 31
2:20 in 4th
Buf gets ball on on 9.
DO they run the ball
NO pass pass pass...
drive down kick FG
go to overtime...
Phucking BUFFALO last place team in the Div
at least they PLAY TO WIN THE GAME...

oh as a side note, RothLIARberger said HE
recoverd the fumble in the end zone!!!!!

the way i see it, is that a win is a win no matter how you get it, and we won that game by clemons play at the endzone and recovered by Miami, the ref got it wrong. but thay was a great game with against a great team. it was our win.

Ya know, maybe it SHOULDN'T have come down to the replay call, but it DID. Therefore THE REFS HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO MAKE THE RIGHT CALL, AND THEY DIDN'T, AND IT'S FAIR TO SAY THE DOLPHINS LOST BECAUSE OF THAT CALL REGARDLESS OF HOW BADLY HENNING CALLED THE GAME.

IT CAME DOWN TO THAT. DOESN'T MATTER IF IT SHOULDN'T HAVE. IT'S NOT OK THAT THEY SCORED TOO MANY FGS, AND GAVE UP BIG PLAYS. BUT THEY STILL KEPT IT IN CONTROL TO GET TO THAT PLAY. THAT'S WHAT YOU DO. YOU MAKE MISTAKES BUT YOU TRY AND STAY CLOSE AND PULL OUT A WIN.

Wow 5 FGs, Tony must have been exhausted from all the Fist pumping......

oh and what is with that timeout usage on 4th and 1 for the steelers?

wtf was that?

eddy quit blaming the refs, thats pathetic. even if we get ball pitt still wins

spike1909 - well said. I agree 100%

Armando, did Henning come into the locker room to gloat today???

"BUT" we forced 4 turnover, "BUT" Bess had a TD. "BUT", Carpenter is nails, "BUT", our run D looked good.

"BUT". We still stink

"BUT" Wake was invisible even after Adams went down, "BUT" Marshall was only targetted 5 times? "BUT" Benny Sapp, J Allen, SEAN SMITH, Clemmons had their hands full, "BUT" Fasano dropped a critical pass on the last drive, "BUT" the 2 passes that followed were behind the first down marker, "BUT" WE JUST AREN'T THAT GOOD, and it's almost painful to watch

test 4th and 1 u have to take timeout, clock would of run to 2 min warning

only bad teams blame the refs

get used to the heartbreak. as a long time fan this is par for the course. just sayin

Honestly, I think Sparano has lost sight of what football is all about. He is attempting to win games by playing to not lose. This loss against the Steelers puts the season into perspective for the Dolphins. We have beaten the Bills, The Vikings without Sidney Rice or Randy Moss, and the Packers without Jermichael Finley, Clay Matthews, Ryan Grant, and a whole slew of other players (not to mention Aaron Rodgers was coming off of a concussion). We lost to the Jets in a mistake filled game, got blown out by New England in another mistake filled game, and lose to the Steelers after putting our lack of coaching and leadership COMPLETELY ON DISPLAY.

This Dolphins team is FILLED with talent and devoid of a coach who actually knows what he's doing. Season is over. This team is not capable of winning consistently enough to even come close to making the playoffs. Good luck in Baltimore.

bill we were in the game the hole time, and clemons made the play of the week and thr ref took thay away, the video was clear.

FelLas, even if the Refs make the right call and give the Fins the ball at the 20, Miami still blows it...the would go 3 and out...punt the ball and lose on the final drive...Probably would surrender a 3rd anD 15 throw for a 1st down along the way..this team is the same crap every year...Our coach (whomever it is, LOVES Field GOALS!)

Head Official Geno Steratore is from Pittsburgh.. just saying.. maybe get a ref who is not from where either team is playing to officiate the game.

Did anyone think that HENNE was going to win that game at the against a good team? No way. This is a mediocre 8-8 team. Average coach, below average running backs, average defense with a below average secondary. No stars except Marshall, but a system and QB that can't get him the ball. It's been nearly 30 years since a Super Bowl appearance. With the current players and regime, expect nothing to change within the next 10 years. Just more frustration and dissapointment. I'm so SICK & TIRED of field goals then seing Sparano do that stupid fist pump. Field goals in the red zone are FAILURES!

I think they played well. Henne played smart, the defense shut down the run and came up with some big plays. I agree - why run the ball on a do or die drive when they haven't been able to run it all day?
3-3 (and 0-3 at home) are nothing the get excited about, but I still think the overall direction of this team is positive.

came down from atl disappointing game

exactly mark, 0-3 at home is enough said. maybe next year fellas, isnt that what we always say

We lost. We were robbed.

SDR, hahaha

love it about the henning gloating thing

LOL

that game was ours, but the stupid officals was blind as a bat,but still I support out team, and still think we going to the super bowl,I bet everybody on here is gonna call me a retard, but I have hope in my team, and everytime I come on here there's mostly bad talk about our team, and it makes me figure that the dolphins have very few REAL fans,if you gonna just come on here and complain about how we suck, then get off here, and go to a freakin jets blog.!!!

RING, RING, RING............ Hello Cowher, we would like to you be the head football coach of the MIAMI DOLPHINS. We have a great defensive coordinator, Miami has one of the best ILB (Dansby) in the league, we have the best receiver in the league in Marshall, a fantastic slot rec. in Bess, we have 2 of the best Running Backs in Brown and Williams, our offensive line is one of the best in the league- a young qb who shows promise- and we play in the sunshine state- you could live here where everyone else wants to come visit. Did I mention we will make you one of the highest paid coaches?

Even Parcells hit the road- I guess he didn't believe in Spurano either.

FIRE HENNING NOW!!!!!!

Exactly tell me how the ball goes back to Pittsburgh at the one. Either it was Miami's ball at the twenty or it was Pittsburgh's ball because they can't recover a fumble forward in the end zone by a player other than the ball carrier. Since the zebras are blind in who came out with the ball, the default is Pittsburgh ball????? There were at least six camera angles that show that Miami can out with the ball. This happens almost 1 to 3 times per NFL game where a fumble ends up being a scrum. I have never seen the refs declare that they don't know who came up with the ball and give it back to the offense. Is this a Steeler rule?

eddy we still had plenty of time, and we failed big time. plus pitt just stops us and kicks fg even if we did recover it. we lost, refs didnt lose it for us.

NFL is no different than WWF, either Pitt recovered the fumble and it is a TD or Miami recovered and it is on the 20

HENNING IS A PIECE OF SH! !!!!!!

I like Ireland as GM but it's time for Sparano and Henning to go. Sparano's still coaching the team like it's his first year here in Miami when the team had very little talent. This team plays scared because he coaches scared.

NOW EVERYONE STOP BLAMING THE REFS. THIS LOSS IS STRICTLY ON THE DOLPHINS' SIDE OF THE BALL.

This is a young Team and a young head Coach. They are going to make mistakes(rushing the play before the 2 minute warning). More disgusted am I with the fan participation; Las Vegas does not give 3 points homefield advantage for nothing. The stadium looked half-empty and with little life.

I've said it before on here...the QB's job is to get the ball in the end zone and score TD's. All of you who keep taking up for Henne have failed to realize that Miami has NOT SCORED MORE THAN 2 TD's in any one game this year...and in fact have three games where they only scored 1 TD. That is NOT going to get it done. However, I accept that it's a team game and it's not just Henne...but I still feel that since our offense does NOT THROW THE BALL DOWN THE FIELD then they should start Pennington. Miami is playing for 'the future' it seems. Well, Sparano, here's hoping that you mortgage your future because I'd LOVE to see Cowher on our sideline next year.

Kris,

I think there will be plenty of angry Dolphins fans out for Henning's blood, but there should still be room for us...The man is 68 years old for cryin' out loud! This is not your grandfather's NFL. We need somebody younger who can keep up with the times. Yes, I know LeBleau (pun) is older, but he at least played on defense fifty years ago. Henning is a nice old guy and all, but we need a young go-getter who understands today's NFL.

i am so angry after this game for a lot of reasons. the main thing, however, is the inability by professional men to get the job done. the officials blew it just when the defense made a play. how do you not verify who recovered the ball? you know its going to be a controversial call. just plain bad.

Two turnovers deep in Steelers territory and all we can muster is 2 FG's???
WTF???
Is it Henning or Henne?
One of them has to go!

exactly gatorz

We played tough. Proud of our boys. Sooner or later we will start to get the better of games like this one. Pitt is a top team and we played them tough.

We are on our way.

FU?x U HENNiNG!!!!!!

proud of being 0-3 at home, unreal. how far have we fallen to have fans be happy about a close loss.

The refs were so quick to rule that a TD,that they never let things fall in place. That's what really sucked.Every time I've watched any game and the ball looks like it was fumbled, the play continues until instant replay gets to the bottom of it.
I don't like to make excuses, but the Dolphins got hosed.

Fk Yo bill_cnnrs add the vowel u stpid piece of shyt

FIRE HENNING!!!!!!! NOW!!!!!

Guys quit Blaming Henning, He's been dead since 1964.........

As always the Henne haters come out and try to blame the game on him (Mike_Dolfan). Henne did have all day to throw on a few plays but if you actually watched the game noone was open on those plays. Show me the proof where someone was open? You sound like an idiotic fan. Henne probably had the best day out of any quarterback that has gone up against the steelers defense. Where is your proof? Please bring more to the table instead of looking like a moron!

Either the refs blew the call or the rule is retarded.

If it is true that the video has to clearly identify who recovers the ball IMMIDIATELY, then I question why replay rules are more stringent than live action rules. In every other fumble situation, the refs go in there and regardless of who got the ball first, it was who had the ball when the ref got there, unless replay showed differently.

Obviously, replay showed nothing - so why doesn't Miamia coming out of the pile with the rock count for anything?

UGH

how crap.
