Brandon Marshall guarantees playoff berth for Dolphins

Brandon Marshall just guaranteed the Miami Dolphins will be in the playoffs this season.

"Oh, yeah, absolutely," Marshall said when asked if he was guaranteeing a playoff berth.

"I don't know how many wins it's going to take," he continued, "but we'll be there at the end."

Marshall is not blind. He recognizes the team is struggling. The Dolphins are 4-4. And Marshall characterized Miami's offensive performances so far as, "up and down."

But ... the confidence. The ever-loving confidence peeks through eventually.

"Any minute now, we're going to put it all together," he said.

By the way, wise guys, Marshall meant he guarantees a playoff berth this year, not some day. Just in case some of you get cute.

By the way, Marshall isn't the only person in the NFL exuding confidence today. At New York Jets training facility, coach Rex Ryan was back to his old Hard Knocks ways.

"We have more talent than anybody," he said during his press conference. "I expect to win every game."

Which one is more likely to be true?

agreed tracy....and what happened to the R and R show that was to have supported Henne the Hero non existent this season...no successful screens, dropped balls, really Henne was the only bright light in my opinion...they gave him no support...he will bounce back and hopefully for us and not the hateriots

tracy474/djrob......HEENE ranked 19 among QB'S IN THE RED ZONE .IT'S NOT ALL DAN HENNING FAULT .ESPN REPORTED WHEN HENNE GIVING THE CHANCE IN THE RED ZONE HE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO DO IT AND THEY SHOWED SOME OF HIS THROWS FROM THE RAVENS GAME WHEN HE MISSED FASANO BY A MILE .

HE WILL BACK BETTER AND WISER .

DAN HINNING HIMSELF SAID IT ,HENNE DIDN'T DROP BALLS.DIDN'T MISS TACKES .IT'S A TEAM EFFORT MELTDOWN AND WE NEED A SPARK .

TONY SPARNO SAID BESTWHEN HE SAID ..(( WHEN THIS TEAM NEED A SPARK IN THE PAST CHAD.P ALWAYS PREFORMED FOR THE TEAM AND THE REACTION FROM THE OTHER PLAYERS IS AMAZING RESPONDING TO HIM ))). WE WILL SEE

Can anyone PLEASE tell me why Miami teams SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! F#C* THEY ARE $H!TY EVERY YEAR!!!!!!!!!!! D@M* not even the F#*in Heat can beat a contender!!!!!!!! F#*K you Miami, you aint $h!t! SOOO Pathetic! So Sad!

RONDO IS THE BEAST BASKETBALL PLAYER EVER .

LEBRON MY A S S

FIRE DAN HENNING! HE IS AWFUL! BEYOND AWFUL! WHY DID WE EVEN DRAFT MARSHALL WHEN WE ALL DO IS THROW 3 YARD PASSES!??!!!!! FRUSTRATING BEYOND ALL COMPREHENSION! HENNING NEEDS TO GET AXED IMMEDIATELY!

THAT'S A GOOD QUESTION WHY DID WE GET A 50 MILLION MARSHALL ?

Oh, and I wouldn't be so quick to declare Henne a bust or a career backup QB! Some quarterbacks take longer than others to put it all together. Or, am I the only one who remembers a QB who stunk it up for a while in Atlanta? So bad that they declared him a bust and sent him packing! I think his name was Brett Favre. How'd that turn out, huh?

Guys I hate to admit it but I think we made a mistake not drafting Matt Ryan first overall. The guy's got everything (and I'm not saying this because he lead his team to a final drive TD tonight). He brings a spark to the offence and can make throws that Henne can't make. I'm still high on Henne and I love Jack Long but I think Matt Ryan is on his way to being a franchise quarterback and I think he would have looked good in aqua and orange. Just saying....

SANHEZ
MAT RAYN
STANFORD OF THE LIONS

THEY ALL HAVE ONE THING IN COMMON ..THEY PLAYED RIGHT AWAY BUT HENNE THEY KEPT TRAINING HIM UNTILE THEY SCRWED HIS BRAIN .YPU GOT TO THROW THE NEW DRAFT PICK RIGHT TO THE WOLFS IN THE NFL .

BM....cant guarantee anything......period

if im henne, i would call my agent and ask for the dolphins to put me on the waiver wire as quickly as possible, the farther away he can get from dan henning and his 1964 playbook, the better off he'll be!!!! Miami has the offensive mentality of * THIS IS THE PLACE WHERE QBS GO TO DIE!!!!

Our running game is struggling because we lost our pulling LG from last year! If you noticed during the Raven's game, when there were holes big enough to drive a truck through, it was because our LT,Jake Long, was pulling to make the hole. But, that's a lot to ask of a guy coming from that far and the defence made adjustments. So, we had to start throwing the ball!

The Ryan/Henne comparisons? Ok I will give Ryan the definite edge. The Flacco/Henne comparisons? Forget it! Flacco is lucky to be surrounded by veterans and I hate to say this, a much better play caller in Cameron.

Feed the waiver wire!

Go Phins!

Even ryan fitspatrick has been more adaptable at putting together better offensive scoring drives than miami this year, and they havent won a bloody game YET???!!!!

FEED HENNING TO THE WOLF!!!!

The Phins have 2 Chads and I have 2 Nads? Huh?
That's just wierd?

Lance Armstrong has only 1 Nad.

Kinda makes me sad. :(

I wonder if the 1 Nad gets lonely? All in its little sack, alone?
I guess in the end, 2 Chads are better than 1 and 2 Nads are better than 1!

Go Phins!

Super, LOL!

But you can't feed Henning to the Wolf...

He's not alive...

You have to feed his carcass to a buzzard?

Hey Fellas!

My impression of Henne after getting benched...

:-(...

Go Phins!

as the second half of the season rolls on, henne is 4-4. lets see a quarterback that has brought us to the playoffs before. let us see the touchdowns that have been missing. let us see 7 out of 8 wins... pennington fakes the handoff, he sprints left, pitches it to brown, brown laterals back to pennington, pennington throws the ball long, touchdown brandon marshall! fist pump videos for everyone!

I think that if this change hadn't been made, there would have been a nuclear Marshall meltdown. I just get the feeling watching him that he was getting frustrated, even though his numbers would suggest otherwise. Never a good thing to get all diva on your quarterback, but I felt it coming. Penne is so accurate it makes up for his lack of arm strength. Plus this plays into Marshalls strength as well. Remember he isn't a deep ball reciever, he is a run after the catch beast. He will have a big game. Lastly, the difference between our young qb, and the 2 that played tonight. Our guy has yet to show any chops when the game is on the line. As poorly as Flaco played all night, when his team needed him to lead them down the field, he responded. 3 tds in 3 possesions in the 2nd half. Ryan played well all night. Henne plays well in early, and in spurts. But he has to be able to play well when it matters if he wants to be the leader of this team.

I'm thinking that our secondary is probably getting a little bit tired of watching film on Randy Moss, huh? Lol!

I aways pay attention to the Falcons because both regimes started their respective projects at the same time. Both franchises were bad and without good young players at some of the same key spots. It seems that they are always a step ahead of us. Jake Long has been everything we expected and im still holding out hope for Henne but to this point i have to say Dimitrov and Smith has outdone the trifecta.

If you have a problem with Marshall being confident and eager to win, then I seriously have to question why you watch sports at all.

It's not a matter of being drearily, tediously realistic...it's a matter of how ANY fan could take this stuff so seriously that they literally get no joy at all from watching games anymore.

Those of you who feel that way seriously should find some healthier outlet for your misery.

Would you prefer Marshall come out and say "what's the point? we have no shot and I just want to collect a paycheck."

Sorry, I much prefer what he IS saying.

Does Branson Marshall play Linebacker? Can he tackle? No? Playoffs? PLAYOFFS???

Brandon, I just hope you back up your words and start catching everithing going your way, so far 2 Henne interceptions were your fault.

Go Dolphins!

Koa Misi-Crowder-Clemons-Mcdaniel-Starks. All of them non factors, can't even tell if they're on the field. They should all be benched, reason they're not is that there is no one else to replace them. Chad Henne got benched because quaterback is a position of strength, period. Needed a fall guy and that's it. Hartline-Ricky-Ronnie-Fasano same as above. Dropped passes, falling down, ineffective. Mediocre team, have many holes to fill. Wake up Dolfans! Henning-Ireland-Sparano have to go! New OC-Cowher-Carl Peterson come on down to Miami!
