Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall will not play against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
He has been downgraded by the team from doubtful to out.
Marshall, who did not practice all week while getting treatment for his hamstring injury suffered versus Chicago, did not even make the trip out west with the club, I'm told.
The starting receivers will likely be Brian Hartline and Davone Bess.
Rookies Roberto Wallace and Marlon Moore and first-year player Julius Pruitt are expected to be active for the game.

At least we wont have any unsportsman like conduct penalties now...

Dying- If you like Enderle that is fine, but I have question to ask. Have you seen him play, or are you drawing your conclusion from draft boards? Living in Montana, the Vandal games are on local fox, and I have seen plenty of Idaho games to think this is not a guy that we want. Unless Dan Henning becomes the lifetime coordinator(Enderle would do well in the dink and dunk) Enderle is not a guy that is going to get the ball down field with pure arm strength. Idaho runs a lot of underneath stuff, and the majority oif Enderles mistakes come when they try and throw it downfield. He just doesn't throw the deep ball well. Now if you want to settle for short ball control sort of stuff. Enderle could be your guy. He suffered against the two real defenses he faced this year as they took all the short stuff away. To be fair, his O-line is much worse then last years, but I think he has digressed from last year. Maybe awarning sign

Let's see if Moore, Wallace or Pruitt can have a break-out game
Posted by: SDR | November 27, 2010 at 03:58 PM
Darryl Dunphy,
I wasnt considering Enderle as a starter, that's why I say 3rd rd. His supposed strengths is being a great "game manager" aka "dink and dunk. Still not sure Thigpen is a quality #2.
At least if your #2 is great game manager, he can be an efficient backup for 2-3 games should your starter go down. Also he's a big strong kid and as a backup there's no pressure to develop him faster than his talents may allow.
We definitely wont get one of the top qb's at our 1st rd draft position, we have no 2nd rd pick, and Enderle looks like best available qb 3rd rd. We'll also need a quality backup as Thigpen's shown not nearly enough consistency to be sold on.
You never know what Enderle could become with 4-5yrs of proper grooming with no expectations to be an even semi-immediate starter.
Posted by: DyingBreed | November 27, 2010 at 04:15 PM
Darryl Dunphy,
We need a dependable backup. Thigpen's shown to be to inconsistent even game in game out.
This is one of the weaker drafts and Enderle maybe the best available qb there for the taking. Strength is excellent game manager aka dink and dunk.
Game manager still great if starter goes down 2-3 games. Positive is he's a big strong kid, no pressure to become a starter, so who knows 4-5yrs of sitting learning watching grooming you could have a real gem on your hands.

Well, its not like we use marshall in this offense properly anyways so no big loss here, hopefully he can reflect on trying to improve himself as a better football player ON the field for next week.
Posted by: superPHIN | November 27, 2010 at 04:18 PM
As for as Marshall, who do these clowns in our front office think we are? Takes at least 6weeks to recover from a hamstring injury. That's at least 6 games.
We have only 6 games left too play. Marshall's out for the season. They aren't fooling the other teams. They are familiar with the length of recovery for hamstring injuries too. Just another case of this regime pulling foolish meaniless mind games.
Marshall's consecutive 100 catch season is officially over.
Posted by: DyingBreed | November 27, 2010 at 04:25 PM
superPhin,
There is no next week for Marshall. Minimum 6 week recovery period for hamstring injuries means Marshall's done for the year unless by miracle we make and go deep into the playoffs. Dont hold your breath on that one neither.
Posted by: DyingBreed | November 27, 2010 at 04:27 PM
where'd you hear that DB???
Posted by: superPHIN | November 27, 2010 at 04:29 PM
Great...just great. Welp Tony will say "We are happy with the WR grouo that we currently have, most of those guys have great motors".
Posted by: cowkilla | November 27, 2010 at 04:33 PM
Crabtree pulled a Hamstring two weeks ago, and is still expected to play this week. I guess it depends on the severity of the injury, from what i've heard thus far marshall's isnt particular season ending.
Posted by: superPHIN | November 27, 2010 at 04:33 PM
It's an excellent opportunity to see what Moore and Wallace can do with some more playing time.
Posted by: R & R EXPRESS | November 27, 2010 at 04:36 PM
Well, sparano has to say something to keep positive about, tho its not much, so were stuck backtracking to 2009 again with our recievers, EXCEPT this time our oline is depleted and we cant run worth a SH%T!!!Spells gloom and doom...O yea and did i mention dead henning is still calling plays.....GEEZ, how possible worse can things get from here???
Posted by: superPHIN | November 27, 2010 at 04:37 PM
Db- I got ya' I missed your point. I agree that with the exception of the kid from Stanford, the Qb, spot is one to stay away from in the first rounds. If we can grab a guy down the road cool. Question. Does anyone know what will happen in the 2012 draft if there is a lockout next year? I know this is far away, but I think the QB, class of 2012 will be incredible.
Posted by: Darryl Dunphy | November 27, 2010 at 04:37 PM
Super,Gotta agree with you, O-line has 3 starters out Chad(The Statue)Henning playing, Marshall out, Henning calling the plays........... Take Dan Carpenter as your Fantasy football kicker.......
Posted by: Cuban Menace | November 27, 2010 at 04:41 PM
QBS that we draft should be either Pat Devlin or Ricky Stanzi in the third round. Or Maybe FSU's Ponder later in the draft. But I still think the OL is the top priority.
Posted by: BK | November 27, 2010 at 04:46 PM
Cuban, the only way i can see us winning in Oakland is if the defense scores at least Two Turnovers and one TD for a chance cuz the offense is Obsolete.
Posted by: superPHIN | November 27, 2010 at 04:47 PM
Sorry Henne starting..
Posted by: Cuban Menace | November 27, 2010 at 04:48 PM
Cuban,
Was thinking the same thing.
How do we win this thing?
8 field goals?
Posted by: R & R EXPRESS | November 27, 2010 at 04:48 PM
Agree..... Sad, Was'nt the fins O-line like the highest price O-line in the NFL going into the season????
Posted by: Cuban Menace | November 27, 2010 at 04:50 PM
Dolphins are 3 point dogs on Sunday (last time I checked).
Posted by: R & R EXPRESS | November 27, 2010 at 04:51 PM
MARSHALL NOW WILL BLAME NOT GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS ON HIS INJURES AND THE DUMB FANS WILL BELIEVE HIM.
DB, SCARNACCHIA THE VIDEO GUY FROM THE DENVER BRANCO TAPED THE 49'S IN LONDON AND NOW HE'S GONE FRON THE DENVER TEAM .
REMEMBER HE AND JOSH MACDANIEL BOTH WERE INVOLVED IN THE FIRST SPY GATE W/PATS .
Posted by: ALoco | November 27, 2010 at 04:51 PM
R and R, defense is our best chance, good news is I dont have too much faith in jason campell ripping into our secondary too much, raiders dont have alot of playmakers either on offense so i could see this game becoming more of a FG battle, im sure it'll make the commentators all that more sick of watching miami play.
Posted by: superPHIN | November 27, 2010 at 04:53 PM
THE DENVER COACH WAS FINED 50,000 DOLLAS AS WELL AS SCARNCCHIA .BY THE NFL FOR TAPING THE 49'3 AND IT CLOSED IT'S INVESTGATION .
Posted by: ALoco | November 27, 2010 at 04:53 PM
super,
Agree.
I posted on the last blog that I prefer Campbell to start as he appears to be the inept one when compared to Gradkoski.

Gradkowski.

Posted by: ALoco | November 27, 2010 at 04:57 PM
Did Seymour get suspended for this game. That was awesome when he dropped Ben last week. It was like a Donkey Punch to his face. The Raiders are a hard team to peg. You never know what team your getting. They do run it well, and their D-line had been lights out. At the beggining of the year this game looked like an easy W for us. Now this game is far from a gimmie. In fact we will have to play great to get out of here with a W. I have no idea what sort of strategy on offense we will see this week. Conventional wisdom says we will try to run it. Conventional wisdom is not a way to describe what we try on offense so We will wait and see.

Yeah there Offense suks, Just ask Denver.....LOL

WHY THE HC STARTS HENNE AND RISK ENDING HIS CAREER ? I THING THIGGY WILL GET THE CALL .

Posted by: Cuban Menace | November 27, 2010 at 05:10 PM
Ouch cuban, thats a pretty lopsided game even for oaklands offense, im not quite into blowout mode thinking but i do see the faiders escaping with a FG battle win
Raiders 19
fins 15
Feed henning to the wolf!!!!
Posted by: superPHIN | November 27, 2010 at 05:14 PM
People were are about 5 plays away this year from being where the Wets are. Things have not gone our way. the injuries do not help, however things have a way of evening themselves out. I do not think it is far fetched to see the jets loosing 4 out of 5. They are smoke and mirrors. The Pat's however are the real deal...they are getting better as the year grows longer.
The Dolphins will win tomorrow. It will be an ugly win but they will win. I do not live to far from Oakland, and I have to tell you to say that this organization is fisfunctional would be a wild understatement
Welcome to the first round of the play -offs...
Posted by: perro | November 27, 2010 at 05:17 PM
Super, 5 FGs for Carpenter again???? LOL, I can see it though..
Posted by: Cuban Menace | November 27, 2010 at 05:18 PM
Either that or a TD*yea right* a safety*could happen* and two FG fist pumpers*very likely*on the side of optimism*lol*
Posted by: superPHIN | November 27, 2010 at 05:23 PM
Well, not like he was getting throws in the endzone. All we will miss is about 5 catches for 40 yards.
Posted by: Toast | November 27, 2010 at 05:28 PM
Not even Las Vegas knows what the hell is going on. Good, good for us.
Posted by: oscar canosa | November 27, 2010 at 05:45 PM
I contend that it boils down to team speed... I've seen BM mention Julius Pruit at least twice in his interviews. I looked him up. The kid runs a 4.4 40 and that makes him easily the fastest reciever on the team. I think BM was saying this as maybe a hint that we line him up on the other side (ala Eddie Royal in denver) and when the double Marshal send Pruitt deep. Whats gonna be funny is when the Raiders put Jacoby Ford (4.28 40) in single converage on ANY of our DB's (like pit did with Mike Wallace) and watch him torch our secondary for a 65 yrd TD, and also run him on crossing routes to convert long 3 downs.I really hope that Ireland looks over the season and sees the need to get faster....oh yeah... and fire Dan Henning.... GO FINS!

sorry, i'm right here (coat turner) *pointing finger at myself* the most popular guy on a losing football team is the back up qb lol
Posted by: HeHateJets | November 27, 2010 at 05:58 PM
Yes. Oakland's offence is explosive but we have a good defense.More concern on our offense(as usual).
Posted by: oscar canosa | November 27, 2010 at 06:22 PM
The Curse has been broken just by a gutsy Decision of an Italian, inarticulate Coach.
Posted by: oscar canosa | November 27, 2010 at 06:27 PM
Yep! I can see why the fins don't need Randy Moss. He probably wouldn't have helped!
Posted by: jkc | November 27, 2010 at 06:28 PM
When in China you should do as they do.
Posted by: oscar canosa | November 27, 2010 at 06:39 PM
Miami 17, Oakland 13. The fins find their ground game and the fins' D leaves Oakland drowning in its Wake!!!!
Posted by: steve | November 27, 2010 at 06:43 PM
Will The Miami Dolphins even show UP for this game like the Bears Mess?
Posted by: zonk-39 | November 27, 2010 at 07:02 PM
MIAMI DOLPHINS fans are the WORST in the WORLD....There really isn't much else to say other than that.......most of you guys really suck.
Posted by: Kris | November 27, 2010 at 07:11 PM
Okay, since Marshall is out, who's going to step up and throw the ball out of bounds for a penalty ?
Posted by: Phin4Life | November 27, 2010 at 07:35 PM
Does anyone really care? I don't.

Posted by: oscar canosa | November 27, 2010 at 08:33 PM
The Skins released Joey Galloway today...might he be a small help to us just for the rest of thos season? I think it would work for the last games left this year..hes old but he can still play in the right situation...just a thought...
Posted by: cowkilla | November 27, 2010 at 08:56 PM
Brandon probably needs to sit a game anyways maybe it will improve his attitude and if he out the rest of the way it will let some younger guys play that are hungary go fins, there is still hope for this season as long as we win tomorrow and then of course we face the same thing every week
Posted by: scott from Delaware | November 27, 2010 at 09:05 PM
