The referee just said, "This is the end (long pause) of the third quarter."
He might as well have put a period after end.
That's how it feels here in Sun Lifeless Stadium. Down in every manner possible.
The Bills lead 17-7 and are driving again. Terrible.
Join me for the fun in the comments section. If the Dolphins cannot rally, this season is pretty much over.

Wildcat may have ended this season-and a lot of peoples career in Miami
Posted by: David | December 19, 2010 at 03:52 PM
Wildcat on 2nd and 10. 3 yard out on 3rd and 10 and then another missed FG.
I guess we need to be honest. This team wasn't going to do anything even if it made the post season.
Posted by: Chris in CO | December 19, 2010 at 03:52 PM
WE DESERVED THAT!!! PLAY NOT TO LOSE AND YOU WILL LOSE!!!!
Posted by: todd neal | December 19, 2010 at 03:52 PM
They played 2nd and 3rd down to set up a tying FG, didn't gain any yardage, and missed the kick.
That's what this coaching staff deserved. They deserved for Carpenter to miss that FG attempt.

I think we have grounds for a class-action lawsuit against Parcells.
For fraud.

ultimate kicker flop
Posted by: beerphin | December 19, 2010 at 03:52 PM
Henne is finally in a rhytm and they go WC on second and long?
I want HENNING's HEAD!!
Posted by: swamy | December 19, 2010 at 03:52 PM
I am sick and tired of Dan Henning and his BS playcalling!!! Get rid of his ass already!!!
Posted by: dquezada559 | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
I am so sick of henning
Posted by: jamesc | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
armando, please ask about the wildcat when they had the momentum. and, given carpenters 3 preceding misses. i hope sparano will not be ``disappointed in you" for asking the question.
Posted by: austin | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
I feel really bad for Carpenter. He has really been asked to so a lot this year. Has been amazing all year.
Posted by: popncaps551 | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
Terrible coaching terrible qb play = loss everytime
Posted by: fbd2707748 | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
i cant think of a better way to end this season then for a team that constantly game plans for 3 to die by the 3. Now we just need the media to deflect some of their questions from Carpenter to why we play for 3's ALL THE F-ING TIME.
Posted by: daganj | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
Good job Carpenter.
Posted by: beerndrums | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
Wow. With more than 2 minutes left, while your field goal kicker is cold, Chad Henne is getting it done, your running game and your offensive Line have been pathetic all season. You know the Wildcat pretty much has failed you when it's outside the o-line, and you call that play? Come on, I put this game all on that play-call. It was just horrendous.
Posted by: Sergio | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
FIRE DAN HENNING.
Based on those last 3 play calls alone - FIRE DAN HENNING.
Why the f**k do you call Wildcat on 2nd &10 w/ 2:34 left?? Do you want to guarantee yourself the chance to run only one g*dd*mn 1-yd play before the 2-minute warning.
J***S F*****G C****T.

Posted by: Marc | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
trust me guys this is awesome. 1-6 home record, ross wont stand for it. a whole new direction for us now, this was the worst staff ever for a miami team
Posted by: bill_cnnrs@yahoo.com | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
Dan Carpender is a pro-bowl kicker. he has ONE bad game. its not his fault. this offense is horrible.
Posted by: Release Henne | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
Henning ain't doing nuttin but implementing SPARANO's Philosophy=--take a knee, play for the tie.

Posted by: David | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
Yeah, why can't this team ever go for the W over the tie? Makes no sense, you're outta here Sparano, Ireland and company.
Posted by: d-dense | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
Suddenly there is a possible coaching vacancy in Miami, the sports writers will have a field day with this for awhile now.
Posted by: deytreder | December 19, 2010 at 03:53 PM
That Wildcat call was the worst ever.

WELCOME TO MIAMI BILL COWHER!!!
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 19, 2010 at 03:54 PM
I dont even hate Wildcat BUT on 2nd and 10 and with Henne hot!!! Henning is officially a idiot!!!
Posted by: robbyhernz | December 19, 2010 at 03:54 PM
This is not only on Carpenter. When you play for a field goal instead of a touchdown this happens. This coaching staff is pathetic and it starts with Henning.
Posted by: joe1010 | December 19, 2010 at 03:54 PM
henning destroyed this and last season. He should have been fired last year. I hope he's fired by the am. The time out call? That must have been henning's fault. The guy needs to be in a retirement home not calling plays in the nfl.
Posted by: BoulderFinFan | December 19, 2010 at 03:54 PM
yes deytreder, now ur getting it. this loss helps us so much.

Posted by: gdionne | December 19, 2010 at 03:55 PM
We could sure use Henne's wasted timeout here now ... thanks Henne!
Posted by: zaphod | December 19, 2010 at 03:55 PM
this is the game that begins the new era for the dolphins. Ross has to fire Tony Soprano now
Posted by: Bake | December 19, 2010 at 03:55 PM

Posted by: Armando Salguero | December 19, 2010 at 03:56 PM
i can not even begin to voice my frustration over henning's play calling. wild cat? on 2nd and 10? with 2:00 min left at the 40ish? why? why? why? you are not even in good field goal range yet...
Posted by: fin fan buck | December 19, 2010 at 03:56 PM

If Henne pulls this out theyre selling frosties in hell!
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 19, 2010 at 03:56 PM
No coaching staff in the league is as obvious as Miami's in the way that they allow the possibility of a field goal to affect the calculus of their decision making when they get inside the opposing team's 40 yard line.
If you're a fan, it's so demoralizing to watch the way these guys coach. I can only imagine how demoralizing it must be to be an offensive player and know that your coaches value field goal tries more than they do touchdowns.
Posted by: The New Kid | December 19, 2010 at 03:56 PM
this game was on no one but henning. We don't run on the worst run defense in the legue. Sparano needs to fire henning tonight if he wants to keep his job at the end of year.
