Brandon Marshall: 'It's too calm' around the Dolphins

Brandon Marshall hasn't been on the field since the Chicago game two weeks ago. He hasn't been in the end zone but once this season.

The guy's obviously bored. (I know the feeling, by the way as I cover team mediocre.)

Anyway, Marshall today said his hamstring that has kept him out of the line is "feeling fine" so that suggests he'll be playing Sunday against Cleveland. What he does with that opportunity is unclear because Marshall wants to make it unpredictable.

"I've been thinking of other ways where I can push the envelope without getting penalties or getting fined," Marshall said while talking about the taunting penalty he got for playfully tossing a caught ball at former Denver teammate Jay Cutler two weeks ago. "I got to get creative. I've been too boring this year.

"Of course, I got only one touchdown, but If I get in the end zone, I need to do some celebration or something. Do something. Any ideas, let me know. Just give me something. Something! I don't know, say something. Spark some controversy. It's too calm."

OK, you heard the man. He wants suggestions of what he should do to stir things up a bit. Get to it, people!

YES DB ,YOU BETTER LEARN HOW TO WRITE IN GOOD ENGLISH AS GM SAID .

I'm not quite ready to engross myself in draft discussion.

But,

I would like to see a speed WR, someone to push Crowder, a NT, O-line and perhaps a change of pace speed RB.

Oh and the team totally needs a good TE and a LB to cover TE's.

GOOD POST OREGAN @ 11;18 .DB NEEDS A CHALLANGE ONCE IN A WHILE .

overly concerned with minute details or formalisms, unimaginative, pedestrian.

DB - only time will tell. I just don't see him being that incredible to spend a 1st round pick on him. The hype around Reggie Bush was way higher, and Houston was practically ridiculed for taking Mario Williams #1 instead, yet they made the right choice. A great line makes running backs look great, unless you are one of those rare breeds like Sayers and Sanders, Ingram is not.

I wish dying breed would die and get off this blog.

Home,

You smoke too much weed and watch Internet videos. But I don't disagree with you, but if there is a New World Order, then you and I are f'd anyway, so just focus on the Fins, gettin' laid, and good music and when 1984 comes, then eat a bullet. There is no Heaven or Hell so who cares?

WHY JOCK ? DB IS A GOOD GUY ...WHAT'S WRONG W/HIM ?

Nothing against you other guys.

As far as being educated, it looks to me like Dying Breed and Aloco are schoolin Y'all.

Can I say Y'all on a football blog?

WHY PEOPLE ARE JELOUS OF DYING BREED ? MAY BE B/C KNOWS FOOTBALL BETTER THAN ANY ONE AROUND .

THANKS ODIN .

DB - that was funny, seriously. The degradation of language is directly associated with the degradation of society. Communication is everything, be it football or brain surgery.

Oregon - you made a malaprop, because you obviously don't know the meaning of pedantic. See the post above by odinseye as to why Allen was let go. No less than 3 different coaching staffs could find a spot for him after giving him multiple chances.

I was with you man.

Good music, good drink, getting laid.

Eat a bullet! Whoa! Back up the happy wagon.

If I ever get so delusional that I'm going to eat a bullet you can bet it will be the last one in the box.

I ain't going alone!

Oregon Dolphin fan,

A speed rb means absolutely nothing unless the guy knows how to run the ball on nfl Sundays. Remember John Avery?

The guys could outrun gazelles but on gameday couldnt get past the line of scrimmage.

Soliai absolutely owned Satele Sunday and his play at NT has been greatly improved all season. I really no longer see NT as a need position. I dont see the o-line as a need position either.

Every oline has good and bad days. No nfl o-line is dominant all 16 games of the year and all no matter how great do have 3-4-5 gaffs per game. You only have our o-line under your microscope because of course this is your team.

Yes we can use some upgrades but we are not overall horrible. We were just killed by injuries and faced a very good defense during the Bears game. I cant think of an o-line in the that would have performed well getting down to its starting guard having to play center.

However I fully agree we need an adequate replacement for Crowder. Im sure the fo patience with him is growing thin but at present have no greater or equal solution. Dobbins wasnt as good as we hoped.

CROWDER BIRTHDAY IS TODAY AT 27 .

GM,

IFFIN you wus from dey ruff traylor parks likes me. Den yus realize readin a book jest a waste of good sittin furniture.

Brandon, I have 2 ideas:
1. Hang on to the football.
2. After that, get in the endzone. If you do those 2 things, I think you will be a whole lot less bored.

DB - yo dude me be from da ruff hoods of new yawk citi, so i'z can undastand yaw pont a vew, don be taken dis sheet too had now, wez cool.

DB,

I got a question for you, or anybody else.

DB, do you think ILB will be an off season need?

Right now we're going with Dansby, Crowder and Dobbins for depth. We got a rookie in AJ Edds coming back and one of my darkhorse favorites in Micah Johnson on the practice squad.

Any opinions?

GM, WAt;sup withyouwhy did yous b.c to be or not to be

GM,

Ery time I tried to read one dem dare books papa would holla at me, "Boy witcha stop playin wit dat furniture. It took me all day searchin dat dumpsta out back ta find da bess of da heap."

odin - They released Micah about 2 days ago. I think we need to focus on offense...two RB's, Center, TE.

what about QB DONKEYS ?

OMG, John Avery! John Avery?

How long did we have to put up with Jimmy Johnson's ego force feeding us John Avery!?!?

GM,

Y'all be on sum bullshyt!

Micah Johnson ain't gone nowares!

Ok, yeah, lets all be ignorant dumb arses for the sole purpose of being cool, and let the Indians, Chinese and Russians take over. Good plan. That's what I call pride. Oh the great America.

Easy, beat NE and NY, make the playoffs and win a Super Bowl, that would be rediculously controversial...

Odinseye,

If we are not in a position to draft Mark Ingram I believe we should just draft best player available regardless of position. We dont need to "reach" just because we have need.

Outside of maybe 5-6 positions max, we can use "upgrades" at almost every other position. Reaching because of need carries to much potential for bust.

odin, wake up....

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Dolphins-sign-Mortty-Ivy-cut-Micah-Johnson-from-practice-squad.html

This is just off the top but I have in mind a guy like Jacquizz Rodgers. He is small and you all probably have not even seen him because he plays for Oregon State but he could be a good pro.

I think Rodgers has never had a fumble or just one in his career. He is gifted.

Certainly there is a big difference college to pro with speed and power. It would be nice to see a Dolphin RB be able to get around the corner.

As far as O-line. I just believe that the drafting linemen is very important. I get on this staff alot, however one thing they have done is make getting talent on the line a priority.

You can have all the skill positions covered but if you do not have the big nasty linemen up front then even great skill position players can be ineffectual.

The Dolphin O-line has been decent but not dominant like the staff expected it to be. Incognito is a keeper, Long of course, but it is time to find the next RT. Carey is inconsistent.

Solia has impressed, yet you cannot have enough talent on the line. For playing the 3-4 I'd like to see even bigger players playing DE for the Dolphins. Look at what the Ravens bring. It looks like they have NT's for DE's. Control the line of scrimmage and control the game.

Oh and GM,

I gave a definition of Pedantic and looks like it fits pretty well.

Has anyone notice how smoothly this blog has run this season with NJ Phlim Phlam defecting to the Sentinel slums?

MICAH JHONSON WAS CUT YESTERDAY BUT W/NEWS OF RELEASING RAMSY AND ACTIVATE MERLING AND THE NEWS OF GRUDEN HIS RELEASE WAS MISSED IN THE SHUFFLE .

Oregon Dolphin fan,

Skinny On Rodgers 2011 Draft:

Quizz Rodgers*, RB, Oregon State

Height: 5-7. Weight: 191.
Projected 40 Time: 4.45.
Projected Round (2011): 4-6.

10/1/10: Rodgers has speed, but he can't carry the load at the next level.

If we could get him between the rds 4-6 like this report says and couldnt get Ingram, I would take him there in a heartbeat though.

Has anyone taken a look at the ip addresses of the bloggers? Lot's are blogging under various names. The Herald site is not very secure you can poke around and see everything basically.

GM,

Are you showing off in a pedantic manner again?

GM,

I actually have the ip address changer tool to hide or change my address when needed. The Sentinel slum banned me several times and I just reemerged under a new ip address. It was so funny. LOL

Haha, DB... ya know the dictionary online is FREE. Look it up and you will add a new word to your vocabulary, if dat be wut ya wanna do. It's sad, I know foreigners with a far better command of the English language than 80% of Americans. We are falling so far behind worldwide in terms of math, science and vocabulary, and these wannabe hippies think its cool to be ignorant. Go figure.

FL IS THE WORST STATE WHEN IT COMES TO EDUCATION IT GETS F EVERY YEAR .

FL has never been good for education, but the education system nationwide has been going measurably downhill for 15 years. Those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it. See the Roman Empire.

GM,

I completely missed it. My bad. Thanks for the info.

Mortty Ivy? Ireland is a freaking MICK wanna be!

Ivy was redshirted. Out injured as a Freshman. Had two solid seasons with notable games coming against div. 2 schools.

Went undrafted and has been waived/via practice squad from Rams and Panthers, great!

Slightly undersized weakside LB that couldn't cut it. Tried at strongside where his lack of size was even more of a liability.

Ireland has been drinking Hennings prune juice! The freaking Mick is going senile!

THE ROMAN EMPIRE DIDN''T HAVE NUKES AND THAT'S WHY THEY R GONE .WE HAVE MORE NUKS THAN THE WORLD PUT TOGETHER SO WE WILL NEVER GO AWAY .

odin...Maybe you missed the announcement but you certainly seem up on Ivy, I had never heard of him. I had the impression Micah was held in higher regard by the staff, but apparently not.

Aloco, we won't go away, just most of our high paying jobs will go away and our middle class will go away.

GM,

Have you not forgotten? The most important words in the english language are "Give me your Money." As long as you master this all of the ways and means of accomplishing this. You are an economic god lording power over all.

Even Don King says, "Only in America." Money is the only true grammatical form of speech in this great country. How much respect you get depends on how many comma placements are in your bank account. All the rest is fool's gold my man. Happy Dreaming! LOL

One thing this "staff" has done consistantly is make me scratch my head!

Morrty Ivy for Micah Johnson?

C'MON MAN!!!!

GM, YOU R RIGHT.THAT'S WAS NIXSON FAULT, HE OPENED TO CHINA AND THEN ALL THE DOG AND CAT FOOD CAME ALONG

Dying Breed looks to crazy hair Don King for guidance. Hmmmmm.

GM, GOOD ONE ...HA DON KING .

GM,

Who has the best hair-do Don King or Mel Kiper?

Also who has the most hair-due Tony Kornheiser or Michael Wilbon?

VICK, A YEAR AGO WAS RADIO ACTIVE ,NOW ON THE NFL CHANLE THEY ALL FALLING ON THIER FACES TALKING TO HIM .

Who would make a better Cat woman, Yoko Ono or Cat woman?

Dying - I'm still trying to keep up with my girlfriends hairdo that she changes every week and if I don't notice she gets tweaked. I don't even see men or their hairdo's!

ALoco,

Vick was radio active last year? Are you saying he made lots of radio appearances?

HOW IN HELL JHON LENNON SLEPT WITH YOKO ONO ?

GM,

I once made the mistake of telling a mutual female friend of both my wife and I that her hair do looked nice and Oh my god! I didnt stop hearing about that for a full year. Never compliment another woman around your woman or there will be hell to pay! LOL

Aloco... America loves the comeback kid. Anyone who rises from disgrace to redeem themselves. This years version is M. Vick. Americans crave a hero. Even a person who has done nothing more than be a victim of circumstances is suddenly a hero, like a trapped miner. Anything to sell a box of Wheaties.

DB, PLEASE CORRECT MY ENGLISH .I KNOW PEOPLE AT NIGHT CAN FIGURE WHAT I MEAN BUT IN DAY TIME ALL THE IDIOT BLOGGERS CAN'T FIGURE AS MUCH .

Dying, I learned that lesson too. I also learned not to take a girl you are just getting to know to the mall, they will want things that I really don't want to buy for them. Gotta play before I pay if you know what I mean.

THE ONLY HERO TO ME IS THE GUY WHO GOT THE MEDAL OF HONOR LAST WEEK FROM OBAMA FOR SAVING SOME LIVES IN AFAGHASTAN ,FIRST AMERCIAN SINCE THE KOREAN WAR TO RECIVE IT.

ALoco,

Calm down buddy I was only being "Pedantic." LOL

GM,

I learned long ago to take a girl Im just getting to know to the all you can eat buffett, stop at the local store for a couple wine coolers, then home. After the first wine cooler and a little conversation spark up a little wack-backy and she's all yours. Cheap and efficient! LOL
