d-dense, i compare Brees because he really was not a good QB his first 5 years in the league. You guys have some short memories. It took Brees 5 years to be anything but mediocre. You think Brees came out of college and took over the NFL. Brees was at best in those first years no better then Henne. A guy with a strong arm who threw 31 ints in his second and third years in the league. You tell me if im wrong about Brees cause i know for a fact im not.

Kevin Kolbs. Now there's an option. I highly doubt Philly hangs on to them both. That's a possibility this organization needs to serious look into.
Trade Henne(he can become Vicks backup) and the 2011 3rd rd pick. They cant afford to pay both Vick and Kolb both big money anyway. Because only one of them can be the starter.
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 05, 2010 at 08:37 PM
Martin Lewis, you can't trade for Kolb, he is a QB in a West Coast system. Not a game managing system, we would have same results.

bobbyd12 didnt we have a shot at brees at one time?
Posted by: d-dense | December 05, 2010 at 08:37 PM
Brees has always had the fire in his eyes. Henne never has it. You can always tell when a uy has the it factor. Tell me, what do you see in Henne that shows you he has the "it" factor?
I just dont see it, sorry.

The offense has Daneria Henningitis.
Very debilitating condition.

Getting Kevin Kolb right now would be better than drafting Andrew Luck!!!
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 05, 2010 at 08:38 PM
What really sucks is that we need a QB and RBs now, if Henne would have pannned out just RBs. How freaking hard is it to draft a QB, Dolphins have tried for years to replace Marino with free agents or 2nd round reaches in the draft. I like Jake Long, but who in their right mind would take him over Matt Ryan, and dont say hindsight is 20/20, most knew Ryan would be a solid starter at least, something Miami has not had for years.
Posted by: MANSTER | December 05, 2010 at 08:39 PM
Utdolphan, maybe he gave Thigpen that option because he only had 3 days practice to come in and QB. Numerous times Henning has stated that Henne cannot check out. In fact if u watch Henning tells Henne when to be under center or shotgun. Henne isnt given any room to improvise.

Anyone But Henne.
Ball Boy & Sparano: go follow Tuna to his next job. Please.
Nite all.

KEVIN KOLB COULD BE ANOTHER BRESS IN THE MAKING .
Posted by: ALoco | December 05, 2010 at 08:41 PM
Manster,
We can draft Mark Ingram and trade for Kevin Kolb. Problem solved.
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 05, 2010 at 08:42 PM
d-dense, yes we did and the Miami Doctors didnt feel his back would hold up i believe

REPOST:
Even the elite qb's have at least 4 crap games a year. But its not as highly noticeble when the supporting cast around you steps up.
Henne's crappy games are always very highly nitcible because the supporting cast around him, both offensively and defensively, never steps up too. Just as in the most recent Nolan Carrol pick whiff that could have sealed the game.
God forbids the special teams ever steps up to help win a game outside of Carpenter field goals.

aloco - I don't try to evaluate the market before hand. Too much global news coming out influences the markets in all kinds of ways. If a chicken gets sick in China overnight all of a sudden there is panic worldwide, one thing affects another. So I do very little long term trading and normally just get in and out intraday in most cases now. I check the financial news before the markets open, keep up on the economic reports being released that can push the markets, and for the most part just trade intraday now. I sleep better holding no positions over night. I could care less if the market is going up or down, I just ride in the direction its going.

WE GOT TO FIRE THESE DOCTORS WE HAVE , THET SCREWED ON BREES AND ODRICK .
Posted by: ALoco | December 05, 2010 at 08:44 PM
Thinking about the disappointment that this season has become, it comes down to the failure of Chad Henne to blossom into a consitent, mid-to-upper tier QB. Is that due to his limitations, poor coaching or time? Is there justification for continued patience (a question for historians of the game? This season is lost. Is there enough potential in Thigpen to justify giving him starts or do we continue to see if Henne can mature into a first tier QB?

Looks like Rapistberger got his nose busted.
Yea!
Posted by: R & R EXPRESS | December 05, 2010 at 08:45 PM
I don't think we should dump henne, but we need to draft a qb next year. I don't think henne is mentally tough enough to be a winning qb. The fact that he's 1-4 at home means there is something going on there. We have no choice to try and work with henne and keep drafting a qb until we hit on one
Posted by: boulderfinfan | December 05, 2010 at 08:45 PM
enough of this qb squabble. we wouldnt be having this discussion if db makes the pick six. How many of those have we dropped this year? 10?
Posted by: tdeck | December 05, 2010 at 08:45 PM
under wannsted wasnt it(brees)? real shame we cant trade for talent. my problem with sparano is he went all D last year in the draft. it was short-sighted and he may not get the chance to draft again. the coaching sucked all year on the O and keeping henning hasnt helped sparano at all!
Posted by: d-dense | December 05, 2010 at 08:46 PM
After AJ feeley I'm very skeptical of getting a QB from philly. Especially if we have to trade henne. If we keep henne and get kolb to let them duke it out then that;s cool.
Posted by: boulderfinfan | December 05, 2010 at 08:47 PM
deytreder,
Your stock market analysis sounds exactly what its like to be a Dolphins fan. "Just ride the direction its going". LOL

I SHARE THAT W/YOU DEYTREDER,THE NEWS ALWAYS GOOD IN THE LAST 14 MO .EVERY DAY SOME GOOD NEWS FROM ANY WHERE IN THE WORLD .I CALL THAT A RIGGED MARKET .INTRADAY IS THE ANSWER .

Sorry tdeck, i and a lot of other people saw the "it" factor last week. Again, till he plays at least 3 full years and has a chance under a different OC im not changing my opinion on Henne. And im certainly not into "starting over" with a new staff. We have a good Defense, this off season we can fix this offense with some playmakers and a new OC. Same as we did with the Defense last year

60 YARDS FIELD GOAL .
Posted by: ALoco | December 05, 2010 at 08:50 PM
good observation tdeck. Our DBs need to learn to catch the ball. A definite deficiency on the defense that needs to be fixed
Posted by: bobbyd12 | December 05, 2010 at 08:50 PM
Boulderfinfan,
You keep saying draft a qb when most expert analysis keep leading to 2011 being a bad year to do it. Why do you keep holding to what seems like a losing position?
We already have a somewhat inconsistent Henne, we could do worse you know.
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 05, 2010 at 08:50 PM
i think we all agree with your sentiments tdeck. i'd like to see that from henne too. goodnight gentlemen, we need some options and solutions to these ongoing problems.
Posted by: d-dense | December 05, 2010 at 08:51 PM
But Sparano did fire Paul Pasqualoni at end of last year and now look at the D. Have some faith in the coach, Henning is Parcells boy. But he is gone now the decision's now go on Sparano and Ireland. If thats a problem he will fire him, but he will retire to save his name. Sparano is consistently yelling in his ear phones at Hennings play calls through out the game.
Posted by: CKep04 | December 05, 2010 at 08:51 PM
DB, DO YOU THINK WE NEED A QB COACH TO HELP HENN ?
Posted by: ALoco | December 05, 2010 at 08:51 PM
and for that matter, the "it" factor involves more than just having a good game. It involves character, emotion, intensity, passion. henne posseses none of those things.
Posted by: tdeck | December 05, 2010 at 08:51 PM
Under throw
Over throw
Throw behind
Throw low
Throw late
Stare...throw
I supported Henne. But I question is slow and strange decision making. This game is too fast for him. Sorry Chad, time to move on.
Posted by: Kevin | December 05, 2010 at 08:52 PM
bobbyd12, henne said he checked to a run in his press conference, and he went on to give the reasons why. my facts are not wrong. in any case, this is a side show. the real issue is why the dolphins can't move the football, and that responsibility is both the OC's and the quarterback's in this case.
Posted by: austin | December 05, 2010 at 08:53 PM
db, Because we have to. I'm not saying draft a QB in the first round but henne has to have some competition going into next training camp. So why not draft one or take a un drafted free agent. Romo was undrafted. Henne is not the answer and he's especially not the answer when he has no competition.
Is it me or everytime pennington is on the sideline henne has a bad day.
Posted by: boulderfinfan | December 05, 2010 at 08:55 PM
wanna hear a funny story? i was busting on the Phins not catching the football on int's. I was playing flag football with some guys after the game. I jumped a route on the receiver for a definate pick 6. yeah, i dropped it and had to chuckle to myself....too funny.

Monday Night Jets vs. Pats.
Who you rooting for?
Posted by: R & R EXPRESS | December 05, 2010 at 08:56 PM
DB,
What you posted twice is a good point. QB's cannot be expected to be perfect. Good teams have the rest of the players step up.
The D has improved but cannot be considered good until they start picking off passes instead of dropping them.
Also I do not want to see Kolb. I cant tell you exactly why, I just do not think he is any better than Henne. Plus is does not matter who is QB when Henning is calling the shots.
And lets not forget. This is Sparanos offense. he has signed off on the 'approach' the whole way.
plus this is Sparano's 150 million $ O-line that does not blow open running lanes and does not consistently make a good pocket.
The cancer is at the top.

long way to go either way. this staff wont take us far, all they have done over the 3 years is play not to lose. we need a new head coach, period. starting over sucks no doubt but why put it off.

The city of Miami should now root for the current Big 3 to deliver Championships because the past Big 3 of Jimmy Johnson, Nick Saban and Bill Parcells failed Big time!!!
Posted by: Mike | December 05, 2010 at 08:58 PM
ALoco,
I think we shouold invest in larger icebuckets for Henne to stick his large head in to soak the excess swelling off of his brain prior to kick off. Its either that or get a witch doctor/voodoo preistess on the payroll.

It'll be just our luck as Dolphins fans we finally make the SB. Then with less than 2 minutes and a 7 point lead Al Khaida nukes the stadium. Damn!!!
Posted by: DyingBreed | December 05, 2010 at 09:03 PM
our first round draft pick next year should be a RB or offensive lineman. And keep ronnie brown. Sorry ricky is gonna be a gonner unless he takes a serious pay cut.
Posted by: boulderfinfan | December 05, 2010 at 09:04 PM
Tuna screwd us bigtime.
Does anyone really think any org would give Ball Boy a GM job, or Fist Pump a HC job, if they had entered the market without Tuna's protection?
Does anyone really want to go thru another yr w/Ball Boy & Fist Pump in charge of draft & FA???
Posted by: The Seer | December 05, 2010 at 09:04 PM
bill_cnnrs, I like Fasano but we need someone at the number two TE slot. Very weak over there
