Dolphins implode, lose 34-27 to Detroit

They managed to turn a 7-point lead into a 7-point loss today. The Miami Dolphins lose.

They finish the season 1-7 at home.

Terrible!

0X80,

This team would struggle in fan base more than it does now if they were to move the team to the West Coast in the L.A. market. The freakin Raiders moved out of the market and LA has more gangs per capita than pretty much anywhere. Silver and Black are the adopted colors of many gangs.

Like Miami, there are tons of people around the area but, just so many other things to do than watch a game live. The fans are more "fair weather" (pun intended). I would bet an L.A area based Fins team would struggle to avoid blackouts.

Best to have Ross keep them there imho.

Ross wants to win. His fastest road to recovery is moving out of the AFC East where for all intents and purposes, we could right now be the worst team in the division. Wayne H never learned, not after JJ, and not after Saban, that you can't just bring in a guru and expect an instant playoff team. So he took the bait again with Parcells. Unlike with the previous gurus, this team has been steadily deteriorating on too many facets. Sparano couldn't see last year his DC was inept, nor could he see after 3 years his OC is inept, nor can he see that he himself is inept. I'm willing to bet Ross sees this.

Cheers buds...

Im gonna go take care of a few things. I may hop on later.

Great to chat with some of my old blog buds for a bit.

Cheers,

JENFER LOBAZ SIGNED ON TO BE THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL JUDG INSTEAD OF DEGENRESS

0x80,

Sparano is helpless. He has neither OC nor DC experience. So what's he to do when his coordinators are inept? He doesnt have the experience to do anything meaningful about.

Thats why it so sucks BP made a position coach HC. See anyone making defensive line coaches thier DC? Or anyone else that's ever made an oline coach OC?

There's a reason for that! LOL........

0x80, (on the refresh I caught your post)

My bottomline hunch is that Ross doesn't move the team.

The Fins can work in the SoFl area if they build a winner. That has to do with the right blend of players and coaches.

Time will tell.

Cheers,

Well, im sure the team and sparono will be playing hard for jobs next week also when they try to survive against the pats..........3rd string unit!!!!!

Spending hours in this blog must be hell on the computer bytes. My computer begins to get unresponsive to a point I have to log out and defrag it by restarting. That or something in Windows 7 sucks! LOL....................

But it only begins to happen after spending hours here.

All of the constant page refreshing probably has lots to do with it! LOL....................

superPHIN,

Sad thing is that I dont honestly believ we can beat the Pats 3rd string unit and im not kidding around! LOL..................

M.VICK WILL GET THE PUPPY THAT HIS KIDS WANT.OBAMA CLLES THE EAGLE OWNER TODAY TO APPLAUD HIM FOR GIVING M.VICK A SECOND CHANCE .

I dont doubt it DB, and i really dont think the dolphins locker room doubts it either...becuase arguably we've lost to three 2nd string teams in cle, buff, and now detriot @ home....something to digest for the new year among other topics...yes??!!!!

Just as quarterbacks are judged by how they perform in the fourth quarter, and ultimatley wins. Coaching staffs must be evaluated by the performance of their teams in December, and of course wins. This quarterback, and staff has made it nearly impossible for anyone to believe they are the answer to what ails us. The home record should be an emmbarassment to the new ownership. It would be one thing if this team had no expectations. Ross sort of set the bar by making comments about our chances before the season started. It is time to put up or shut up. This franchise is at another crossroads. Some very difficult choices will have to be made in the next couple of weeks. The easy way out would be to give Sparano and company another year to work out the many kinks in the system. The hard choice is starting over. Rolling the dice again that someone can fix this mess. Either way it isn't going to be easy. We have no equity for trades except trading down. I'm not sure that we wil solve the quarterback problem. But at this point just about anyone is an upgrade. It appears like we have a solid foundation to build around(defense) There are too mant question marks on the offense that it is dizzying even thinking about it. It is going to be a long offseason.

If Stephen Ross does make a change, he should really consider Marc Trestman for HC....

I guess i have to wonder what will sparono do after coaching if he is fired after this year, does he stay in football as a coordinator, does he go to the college ranks and try his luck there, does he try and make it as a NFL anylist****eh, probably not*****But what else can he do????

I haven't finished reading where I left off, but one fly in the ointment for getting ANYTHING done is the fact that THERE MAY BE NO SEASON NEXT YEAR.
No coaching hires, no draft...
though I can't imagine such a cash cow as the NXL will be allowed to cease operations. First the networks will get involved, then the GAMBLERS...well, maybe the gamblers FIRST...LOL

Lets ASSUME an agreement is put in place. Yes. And that agreement includes a salary cap for rookies, using a tiered system (QB's highest, RB's lowest, etc)

A cap would enable a team like NE to trade both their #1's and players for the #1 pick, and have NO trouble with a cap hit.

Anyhow, i do not believe the owners will approve any CBA that DOESN'T include some sort of relief for the escalating rookie contracts, and I bet most veteran players secretly support a rookie cap. If I were they, I WOULD.

I TOLD YOU ALL

6-10/7-9 finish

all of you laughed at me

have fun with morono next year

we will blow again

Dont discount the cba disagreement as an incentive for ross to act more aggressively in Getting a more experienced coach here, that way he can mull over team personal for another year if football is indeed on hold for next year.

One guy we could get (as long as his title said OC AND Assistant HC) would be Mike Martz.
NFL rules state that if the move has any Upward status it is allowed. I don't believe a lateral move is allowed, at least without permission.
I'm sure clarification by someone here would be in order.

if Martz can do that with Cutler(whom I watched here in nashville for several years...the throwing off the back foot, etc..which he still does, BTW), imagine what he could do with a Ryan Mallet, etc.

Or, it could be that God is getting back at you for dissing Mando so vociferously. LOL

Seriously, maybe Mando's moral outrage was not exactly what many wanted to read. That fact that he is unafraid to express his opinion, no matter how unpopular it's bound to be with some is, to me, somewhat courageous. On the NY Times, he would probably be fired, as was Juan Williams from NPR.
Still, whether in agreement or not, his JOB is to express his views, and in this case Rex's (IMO) idiosyncratic behavior reflects on HIS employers, which I believe was Mando's main thrust.

Still, your reaction shows that not all share his opinion, which of course is YOUR right.
All this meant in a spirit of give and take, friend.

I think we're ALL suffering here pretty much.

Maybe my last comment...appreciate all of you, BTW..
Do you think OWNERSHIP has also been a problem with the Fins?

neither H Wayne nor ross seem to have the intrinsic feel of what the NFL is REALLY all about.
I have no doubt that owners like Craft, the Rooneys, the Irsays, etc had that feel.

I wish Ross would sell this team. Somehow, he just FEELS all wrong. The leeches, the glitz...all soft. All wrong. Not Shula-like, not Csonka-ish.
Just WRONG. I have zero confidence he'll find the right GM and coach, even if, at the time it SEEMS like the right choices.

Oh, the pain.

IMAWriter...Well said. Post of the day @ 11:29 The last line said it all.....

IT'S FUNNY HOW TEAMS AND PLAYERS QUIT ..WHEN THEY KNOW THERE COACH IS GONNA GET FIRED...SEE THE TITANS AND THE TEXANS..THE TD BY JAVID BEST SAYS IT ALL!

MARC Trestman IS SCARRY LOOKING DUDE!

"I just don't understand it---Henne has one of his best games EVER just TWO interceptions and great clock management and we still lose.Plus Chad did some good things out there today".Tony Saprano.

the one time Ted Ginn should head for the sideline, he goes to the middle LOL and cost the niners a chance a last ditch hail mary LOL

Hey EMPRESS OF PINEAPPLES, you should be ashamed of using MY WORDS to embelish your statements ie: "THE EMPRESS HAS SPOKEN"

I would appreciate it, if in the future, you found new words to end your thoughts!

ROMPER HAS SPOKEN!

TO FAN SINCE '72,

I'm no fan of Sporano but HE DOES have an eye disorder where bright lights affect his vision(some trauma to his eyes happened in his childhood), thusly he always wears shades. You might have known this if U had read about him or listened to the news.

Regardless of his condition, as a coach, he is McCRAP and needs to be sent to pasture, now!

ROMPER HAS SPOKEN

TO TONY, "DO YOU KNOW WHERE MY BALLS ARE?"

As a friendly stranger to U and not wishing U any more discomfort, I suggest that U will probably find them if U look under, look under, look under, look under, look under your WEE WILLIE!

Good luck.I've been told that LOSING ONE'S BALLS is a killer!

ROMPER HAS SPOKEN

Hey,
What's going on?

DOLPHiN FANS UNTiL WE GET RiD DEM iDiOTS n Da FRONT 0FFiCE-EXPECT EXTREME FUTILITY FOR 2011-Da PATRI0TS WILL EXP0SE EVERY D0LPHINS WEAKNESS AGAIN!

The Dolphins looked like a bunch of Jerry's kids out there on the field today! They were soundly whipped by New England 2nd and 3rd string players.

Dropped passes, missed tackles, horrific special teams play....the list goes on and on.

If we fire the coaching staff and cut, release or trade half the players what are we really giving up? Another 7-9 season?

I believe most Dolphin fans could handle the risk of major changes in the Miami product at this juncture of the game.

I have no idea how Mr. Ross even remotely thinks he's going to partially fill Dolphins stadium next year. Too much to do in Miami. Why take your family and your money out to see a perrenial loser?
